"excellent Selection, Selection, sheesh!!! So Lyd is out? Bummer. Maybe she got murdered to further the mystery? muwahahaa....

So Basha, what do U's in brackets mean? ;p

At the Forge:

"LeaGallow.. LeaGallow.. Just a moment." Lyle strides over to a desk and shuffles through a large pile of papers before finally holding one up. "Here we go! One Neal LeaGallow was in her a few days ago with an order for some strange armor. After getting the measurements down and shaping the mithral, it looked like it was meant for some sort of lizard. I just finished it yesterday actually, the name just escaped me for a moment. Strange fellow, that halfling, riding up on his pony with a rat on his shoulder.." He pauses for a moment. "What did you want to know again?"

At the Tavern:

"Ta tell you the truth, I thought the rumors were just drunken ramblings at first. But ya hear sumthing enough you get to knowing it be true. Magic though? Not impossible. Any man that can get to the second floor o' a building and past guards has to have a bit o' magic to use."

"As for if I can be helpin' you, I could sell you some of my more 'potent' brews. A mead to ease pain and seal yer skin or an ale to make your sword bite deeper maybe? I've got fair prices on all my drinks!"

He can make potions from the wizard and cleric lists, up to 3rd level for each list.

"We were asking where we could find him. Armor for a lizard you say? About how big was this lizard based upon the amror you made? Has he returned to pick up the armor yet?"

Eadric Cuthwulf II wrote:

Lyle looks down at the paper in his hands.

"The delivery address has him in one of the newer houses in the Noble's District, the big red one on Noc Street with the double doors if memory serves." He pauses as he reads further. " How strange.. the measurements have smudged, I can't read them. Good thing the armor wasn't supposed to be delivered today."

After moving aside what looks like scrap metal, Lyle hauls a box over to the table and opens. He holds up a few peices of the masterfully crafted mithral armor.

"If he was actually going to put it on a lizard and didn't want it for decoration, I'd say the thing wasn't bigger than a cat, though a bit longer."

"You know, it seems like you want to meet this guy LeaGallow a lot, and since you're going that way anyway.. would you mind delivering the armor? I can give you a discount in return, on anything you want! I'm can do more than stuff to fight in or with you know! Maybe you'd like a nice ring for a special lady friend?" He asks with a wink.

Okay, there is a clue in this post.. but to what?

Well, when you say it like that I would need maybe Potion of Bull´s Strenght, but... maybe I will pass. Don´t have money and hard to get something, if you can´t afford eh?

Passing out for a while, Azharten realises something Got any information you could share? What has been going on in street-level here, some strange activities or gambling? Know anyone, who´s tongue might have slipped and revealed something? It seems odd that so many people were interested to buy piece of land and especially the orphanage...

Basha stands back, maintaining and air of friendly interest, but not talking much. Until the armor comes out.

"I say Mr. Highhill, that is really some cunning work. May I examine it?"

Basha turns the armor over in his hands, remembering the contours of the lizard he held in a dream.

"I do believe you have your delivery men sir. What was that address again?"

Ok, so Leagallow rides a pony, but is accompanied by a rat, wears armor, and is buying/commissioning more for a lizard? Iiiiinteresting.

"One more question Mr. Highhill- What is Leagallows reputation around these parts? I don't wish to have you peak ill of a customer, but it appears Eadric and I may have some further dealings with him. It would be most helpful to know what kind of person he is. Consider it my delivery fee."

Eadric watches and listens as Basha examines the armor and converses with the talented smithy, before eagerly awaiting the response to Basha's inquiries...

The obvious does not count as the clue! :)

The armor, wonderfully made, does not match the contours of Zipper. It seems made for something with longer legs.

"The big red house on Noc Street is what you're looking for, it's the only one like and it's pretty new too, only a few months old.. As for speaking ill of Mr. LeaGallow, I couldn't speak badly of him if I wanted too! That Halfling seems to go out of his way to help people he doesn't even know-even drunks stumbling home-for no reason! A good fellow if there ever was one. The only person I could think of that doesn't like is the local Orphanage owner Keiyanna. Normally she's a calm woman, even sends some of the older kids to deliver for me when they have the time, but lately.. I don't know. I don't get out too much, only for deliveries and such." He turns to Eadric as he stops his rambling. "And your price for the delivery, good sir?"

"Ye got a point there, but them crazy rich are a whole 'nother race compared to us who worked are way up. Information eh? Let me think.. There was a few rumors back when the Orphanage was built(I'm older than I look).. something about a ley line making people's blood magic go whacky. One guy didn't know his many-times-great-grandpa was a dragon until he breathed a bit o' fire on his hammer, or at least that was the rumor. Never saw it for me self o' course. Maybe that's why so many want it now?"

"Ya know, you seem like a good sort, trying to help Kei and her kids, so.." he ducks down under the bar for a moment, bringing a small bottle back up with him when he comes into view. "How about you pay me later? Don't be letting any little ones get a hold of it though, it being ale and all." He slides the bottle over smoothly. "It won't get ya the strength of a bull, but some one's getting up buildings. This'll let you follow 'em to the skies."

Azharten face is cold. like those of stone, but only his eyes seem to fail, seemingly to pop out of his head. Coming closer to bar and catching the bottle fast and hiding under his belt Thank you... having hard time of really speaking words out I will paz surely back later... and if you ever need help, you can trust on me. Just a call, and I will come

So, while I work on a secret plot twi- I'm mean project for, um, school.. >.>

Azharten would be looking for the two former orphans still in the city now, yes? Meanwhile, Basha the Mage and Eadric the Knight get to play UPS! XD

Finishing the business in the tavern, Azharten steps out to light and breath fresh air Daaaamn, it smells good. No offense towards that dwarf or anything, but sure smells like alcohol. Later evening though... one tankard would be good, oh boy Stretching and looking at the street, Azharten turns towards Lydiana

So Lydi, what´s up? Most of time sick or something? I know it doesn´t smell so good there but... hm, could you go find Eadriok and Basha. They would like to know also what we found out

Scratching his cheek, Azharten walks forward Well, time to see if we find sisters & brothers from this town Moving, Azharten picks up something to discuss with people and throws out a question time to time about former "children" of Keyianna, who might be living here.

Basha gives the smith a slight bow, and slips the re-wrapped armor into Kenna' saddle bags. "So, shall go we Eadric? This should prove MOST enlightening.""

M Human Paladin 2

"Undoubtedly.... lead on brother."

*rubs hands together like an evil genius*

Azharten, we can have Lydi look for Basha and Eadric, then look for the second orphan and then.. vanish. Sequel anyone? ;)

Leaving the Tavern and it's dwarven owner behind, you make your way through the city to the supposed home of one of the former orphans*. Standing at the door of a decent house, your knock is answered by a part of the door sliding out of the way to reveal green eyes staring at you.

"May I help you?" Says the man behind the door.

Mage and Knight(getting bored righting same old stuff, will be creative at times)

Leaving the forge behind, you quickly make your way through the streets to the Nobles District, and then to Noc Street. Unfortunately, it seems the house Lyle told you about either isn't on this street, or has been re-painted. Perhaps if you ask around...

Perception checks! Bwahahaha!

Two actually, one for the trip here, and another for when you reach the street.

M Human Paladin 2

*groan* Perception checks? Why did it have to be perception checks? ;)

Glaring at the man, Azharten clears his through Fool or not, but at least you should have some kind idea who I am, eh? Azharten, one of the Keiyanna kids and so should be you too. I got something to talk, if you would mind? and Azharten tilts his head, like determining the man´s worth

Caster and Meat Shield #1

Eadric notices someone short several times not far away, but each time he turns to get a better look, the figure is gone..

Basha hears the sound of hooves over the din of the crowd, and sees Neal's head just above the crowd, heading for a black house att eh far end of the street.

Basha: Will Save

Dark and Brooding Knight

The man on the other side of the door stares at Azharten for what seems like a long time before closing the sliding hatch. The sound of multiple locks(more than have keyholes it sounds like) being opened can be heard from the other side. Moments later, the door opens and reveals.. someone who looks a lot like Eadric!* He moves aside to let you in..

"eadric, the black house, that is the one we seek. It is glamored, but we shall see the truth of it soon enough."

Basha urges Kenna through the throng towards the house.

Looking at the man... almost like a clone to Eadric, Azharten steps inside and looks around. Turning his head to man and asking May I ask, but what the hell is this? Why so many locks and being careful? and stands there, if not indicated to sit

Azharten
"I like my privacy. It's easier to have peace and quiet when people can't barge in."

He moves to another room to sit at a table, motioning for Azharten to do the same.

"You said you had something to talk about?"

Basha and Eadric
Moving through the crowd becomes a bit easier when people realize you are in a hurry and on a horse. You manage to catch up to Neal jaus as he is about to open the gate to the house.

"Oh, hello. May I help you with something?" He asks as his rat runs from one shoulder to the other to look at both of you. "Ah!" He says as he spies the box from LeaGallow's. "You've brought the armor? Thank you very much, I've been waiting for this particular order for a while now."

To answer your earlier question Eadric, the person you spotted doesn't have the build of a halfling. You don't recognize this person.

M Tielfing Wiz 2

"It does appear lovely. Mr. LeaGallow, I am Basha Taal, Court Wizard of Lord Joss. My friend is Eadric Cuthwulf, Knight of Cayden Cailean. We have both returned to this town at the request of our mother. Ms. Keiyanna. May we have a word with you? In Private?"

Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Halfling with rat is LeaGallow, Smith was HighHill, no?

You are correct, it seems I mixed up my npc halflings..

"Of course, come inside." He says as he dismounts to open the gate. He let's his pony stay in the yard to graze while he leads you inside the(now red) house.

"So.. has the Lady Keiyanna decided to vacate the orphanage, or are you here to threaten me to stop asking her to?"

M Human Paladin 2

"We are not here to threaten anyone, of this you can be assured. We are merely seeking information regarding the attempted closure of the orphanage and the charges against Keiyanna. By what reason does Keiyanna have to vacate the orphanage?"

Eadric Cuthwulf II wrote:
"We are not here to threaten anyone, of this you can be assured. We are merely seeking information regarding the attempted closure of the orphanage and the charges against Keiyanna. By what reason does Keiyanna have to vacate the orphanage?"

"Allow me to adress everything you have said. First, I am glad you are only seeking information and not threatening me. I cannot disclose much of the information regarding the reason my lord wishes the orphange closed, and I probably have no more knowledge of the charges against the Lady Keiyanna than you do."

"As for the reason she is being asked to vacate the premises, surely if you were children under her care you cannot expect the building to stay safe and hospitable for much longer."

Now that your looking at him closely, you can clearly see the elaborate shield emblazoned on his tunic.

Those who have Knowledge(Nobility/History) can make a check to identify the importance of the shield. Even Eadric can try to make the check, but he only gets information as if he rolled a 10(even if he rolled higher). So, basically, Eadric would only have common knowledge.

M Tielfing Wiz 2

Know:Nobility 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

"What do you mean 'Safe much longer?' Is there some threat to the house?"

Sitting on table and looking at one of his "brothers", Azharten wonders for a while, until continues Keiyanna is need of help and I am here for asking for it. Doesn´t matter if you can´t help much, but maybe some information would be good to have. What do you know about recent situation and what is going on here? Why are you actually locked behind your door? There has been some strange events gone nearby and past days. Any help would be nice, especially when Keiyanna is need of it

Azherten

"The city is afraid Azharten, it's not so far a leap to want your doors locked. Right now, people still believe the murderer is one of the common races, like elf or human. That is not true. None of the common races have claws that can dig into wood and stone like the murderers, and none have the rumored amount of brutality, at least not around here."

"That is all I know. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you more than that."
A Sense Motive check please.

Bash and Ed

Basha:
You believe Neal belong to a group of soldiers devoted to something, but the name of the group eludes you.

Neal seems shocked by the question.
"The building is old and falling slowly into a state of disrepair! It wouldn't be long before this city itself would close it down and condemn the building. What if a floor gives way, or the roof caves in? Children could be hurt, or worse, killed!"

Sense Motive1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

I see... I agree, that there is something going on. I will tell you, that I met this... rumoured killer and it was quite fast one little bugger. Not sure, how will it be later, when I get my hands around it, but I swear at that moment, it wont escape. more sinister look appears to Azharten face as he remember the incidents in sheriff house and then look at one of his "brothers" Tell me... I have been long time away now and I don´t know what has really been going on. However... I would like to know, why aren´t you or anyone else of our sister or brothers helping Keiyanna? She is struggling alone to raise kids and take care. We all own something to her... but I admit, we all got our own lives now and we do what me must, but... living nearby to old home, so it won´t hurt much to pay visit and help her as Azharten looks intensively at the man

Looking around, Azharten takes notes around and won´t say anything for a while. We are 4 at this moment... She called us, when she need help and we answered. I... know I am not the best one of all the people and I am not like others. Nevertheless, I am here... and I assume you do remember me and my nature, don´t you?

Perception1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 to see what condition is the house, how it is, anyone else living there, what kind of defense etc, weapons

M Human Paladin 2

"If the matter is simply one of repairs, then why haven't the good people of the city offered Keiyanna support in making the orphanage safer? Are the people here that cruel that they would see orphans kicked out of their only home?"

Eadric

"If the city could be sure that the repairs would last as long as a new building, then I agree with you. As it stands, I still believe a new building would be better in that spot, as does my lord. At least I do not want to take it down because it's an eye-sore, or for what people call real families." He says, voice dripping with hatred at the thought. "If it makes you feel better, I can talk to my lord about granting the orphans temporary shelter."

Azharten: he's holding something back.

"You need to understand that not every orphan liked Keiyanna, despite her kindness. Those still here just didn't want to leave the city they were born in. Those who aren't still here are either ignoring her letters or are too far away. The reason I'm still here.. I didn't want to leave, and I had a job that keeps me well off."

Listening curiously, what the man was speaking about, Azharten begun to think Something is odd here and that man is holding something back. What is going on here? Damn... if Lydiana was here. I guess I just have to sort it old way, hehe.

Then pausing for a moment, Azharten will continue Actually, I never heard your name. There is also big resemblance with another orphan, Eadric, if you remember, who is also now here. Could you tell me, what is your relationship with him? Twins, since I have never seen someone looking so similar to someone else. changing the subject and keeping going on for several minute.

Keeping him comfortable with question, Azharten begin to hammer him with questions There was lot of things in childhood. I can´t remember all things, since I left early. What you mean not everyone used to like him? Why are you still here and what is your job? She was quite kind to some of the children, to all actually... but what you said is interesting? Did something happen or what.

Standing and looking through him You are hiding something... or more likely not just telling everything. Spit it out. I am considering what to do now. There has been something wrong this whole time, with whole town and I don´t like it... but I never liked anyone here

"I'm getting the feeling that is a thinly veiled threat." He says softly as he stands up as well. "I keep a lot of things hidden away and to myself. This house is my refuge from the world. For you to come here and use word play to accuse me of having anything to do with the murders, Azharten Varosia, is unacceptable. Leave."

It certainly can sound like a threat, which is the reason this person(who still has not given you a name) is angry. Also, he should have no way of knowing your last name(if Az doesn't know it, ignore it, I just wanted to add a bit more drama).

Oh really... I never accused of something... but boy and now Azharten speak gets darker sounds... a sinister feeling begin surrounding, as his face completely freeze to emotionless stone I guess I have to beat the s+#& and answers out of you. "You've got guts whelp, but you are nowhere near old enough to hurt me with those flimsy bits of metal. Now, I believe I told you to get out." His voice gains an elvish accent as you hear the door behind you open. "Your choices now are to leave on your own free will or be washed out."
He says as he slips a wand from his sleeve and points it at Azharten.

"I hardly think someone who doesn't even know his parents, let alone if they were wed, should be calling someone else a bastard."

"No need to keep this disguise now, since I'm going to need to move after throwing you out." He says as his form wavers and is replaced by that of a tall elf. Is it just a case of Mother Keiyanna being attached to the building? I believe her first allegiance is always to the children under her care, but we all become attached to material things. What are your Masters plans for the plot the orphanage occupies? And for the children?"

SLIGHTLY different conversation than brother Azh seems to be having :)

He does seem to be getting a bit more action than you two!

"It puzzles you? My lord and the others are nobles, or at least very close. I have no idea what the others still alive will do with the land if they get it, and again, I have been told not to say anything about my lord's plans." He seems distracted for a moment. "He will care for the children temporarily after the building is torn down.[/smaller]"

So please, enlighten me ou great sage, what is the problem here? Or can´t you say, since you don´t know... all mighty third-rate trickster

"The problem," Azharten hears in his mind, "is that you and your siblings think you can stop the murders and clear your 'mother' of guilt." He then gets the feeling that the elf has left, and he notices a few people are looking at him like he's a few swords short of an armory..
