Andre Karoxin |

I had a post that seems to have vanished as well...irritating.
Andre strides over to Ihon and peers at the trail. "Well spotted! That looks promising." Seeing Sazu disappearing into the brush he shrugs and turns to the others. "Shall we wait here, or pursue our quarry to ground? I imagine you know which one I'm inclined toward..." He thumps his walking stick meaningfully on the ground for emphasis.

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

Hey all, sorry for the absence I was hoping to post in the evenings but my re-enactment location had no signal what so ever. I am back now though.
"I think laying in wait to ambush them is the safest option as we can use the element of surprise to help us. However we could be waiting here for hours, but better that than walking into enemy territory with no clue as to their numbers of layout."
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
If people decide to wait here, I shall find a spot to hunker down in, if we are to follow the trail I shall be at my usual position but walking quietly so as not to alter anyone.
Stealth roll works for both situations.

Andre Karoxin |

Andre bites his lip, then sighs. "Though I'm eager to get on with the work of cleansing this forest, what you say shows good sense. I suppose we must wait here..."
OOC I think we have too many people willing to be flexible, so I suggest we camp here for a bit and see if anything emerges. We can always pursue the trail shortly if it doesn't. :P
Stealth: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Andre hunkers down near Rona to wait.

DM Morvius |

After an hour of waiting you hear a loud trio of humans walking toward you obviously prior to them hearing you. They are not approaching from the trail, but rather another point inside the forest and it sounds like they are dragging something heavy with them.
You see them once they are 50ft from the clearing the last 30 of which is difficult terrain. You will all get a surprise round to act before they notice you. They are armed and wearing leathers.

Sazu Magauge |

"Could be hunters with a catch, but to be coming this specific direction...Let's not start a war, and be sure of who's approaching first."
Sazu sinks into his bush, the shrub encompassing his form

Sazu Magauge |

Must be hunters, not our quarry. Sazu thinks to himself, not bothering to voice his opinions as they close in.
He tries to motion to the others with his eyebrows that he thinks they should wait it out.

Andre Karoxin |

Andre narrows his eyes but also makes no effort to intervene.
If they're innocent hunters, no need for us to bother them...we can always find out if they know anything when we're back in town.

DM Morvius |

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
When the group reaches 10 ft from the clearing they see you and immediately move to attack.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Round 1
The group looks like they are going to draw weapons and charge.
Just waiting in case one of you does something to prevent their actions.

Ihon Volarian |

Initiative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Initiative (familiar): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Round 1: Initiative 26
Ihon waits till they charge and casts Daze (DC 14) on one when they get within range (30 feet).

Andre Karoxin |

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Round 1, Init 16
Andre yanks his bow off his back with a curse. As he nocks an arrow, he calls, "Stand down, you fools! We're not your enemies unless you're the ones responsible for that damned altar."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
If any of them do charge, he grits his teeth and looses an arrow at the closest one.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
I stand up and make sure that I have my blade in both hands, ready to retaliate if Andre's intimidation attempt fails.
Standing Defensively, I think this gives me a +2 Dodge bonus to AC, but would like clarification please.

DM Morvius |

If you guys want to post DCs of spells with the spell, that would be fantastic. Saves me looking it up!
Rona, you are correct that you take -4 to attacks and get +2 AC. You cannot ready an attack, but you can delay.
Round 1
Two of the men draw greatswords as they are charging in and the last one takes out a crossbow, leaving a longsword at his waist.
Sazu tosses his Grease at one of the charging fellows. The man drops his weapon and curses, reaching for a small dagger instead, though his charge is delayed.
Ihon attempts to daze the archer, succeeding.
Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Andre takes a shot at the remaining charger, though it goes wide. The man charging crashes into Rona while the archer, aimed at Sazu, does nothing as he stares at the woods.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12

Sazu Magauge |

It seems that Paizo didn't save my changes to turn Sazu into a normal bard. I corrected it now, but if you want me to stay an Archivist just say the word.
Sazu will begin to play a song, one of valiance and wonder as if the trees themselves are humming along.
" If they won't listen to reason, then they'll listen to justice!."
Sazu plays an inspiring courage.
An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

Round 2
With an opponent in front of me, I shift my stance slightly so that I am still favouring defence and swing my blade hoping to put the enemy down before too much damage is done to our ambush.
Falchion Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14
Falchion Damage: 2d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 + 1 = 8
I am fighting using Combat Expertise, so my AC is increased by 1 from normal.

Phaedra Valerius |

Round 2
Init 19
Phaedra moves to the one charging Rona and swings her glaive at him.
melee attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14
damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9
Round 3
Init 19
If that target is still up, Phaedra will sing her glaive at him again.
melee attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24
damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13

Sazu Magauge |

As it round 2 and given the spirit to keep things moving, I'll post default actions.
Sazu will keep up his bardic performance, and cast Unwiiting ally (DC14 (will negates)) on the one who charged Rona, or the archer if that one is down.

Andre Karoxin |

Andre scowls and sends another shaft flying toward the archer.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Thanks for the the botting...been a crazy few days at work.

Ihon Volarian |

Round 3: Initiative 26
Ihon whispers some harsh magical words and flings a ball of clear liquid at the archer.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9 touch
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

DM Morvius |

Round 3
Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
The dagger wielder is struck by Phaedra on the second blow, her first not connecting through his armor. He shakes off Sazu's spell and attempts to stab Rona again.
Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
The archer is missed by Ihon's acid, but Andre is able to connect. He fires back at Andre in response.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Ihon Volarian |

Round 4: Initiative 26
Ihon once again throws acid at the archer.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16 (touch)
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Andre Karoxin |

Round 4: Initiative 16
The arrow loosed by the archer whizzes past Andre as he leaps out of the way, and he scowls. Looking for a tree to hide behind, he takes cover and then returns fire.
Move action: get behind a tree for cover (if possible). Standard: fire back at the archer!
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

DM Morvius |

Round 4
Ihon is able to damage the archer, but the man is still standing. Phaedra and Andre miss their targets however.
The archer fires at Ihon while the dagger wielder continues to attempt to attach Rona.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

For some reason I wasn't receiving any new posts on this thread.
Round 3 :
Falchion Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11
Round 4 :
Falchion Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12
Both rounds I try to dispatch the enemy in front of me, unfortunately each time one of us tries to strike the other, we end up clashing blades and deflecting the blows.
I will always be using my Combat Expertise for the extra +1 AC.

Ihon Volarian |

Round 5: Initiative 26
Ihon once again throws acid at the archer.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24 (touch)
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 = 17
Crit Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Andre Karoxin |

Round 5: Init 16
Andre snarls a curse and snipes another arrow at the archer. "I've asked for precious few blessings from Old Deadeye today, and I'm loath to use them on that fool with the dinky knife!" he calls to Rona and the others.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Rona'Nathaniel Gassan |

Round : 5
Initiative : 9
I glare at Andre, with an almost murderous look in my eye, but I turn my attention back to the man in front of me and try again to put him down.
Falchion Attacl: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14

Phaedra Valerius |

Round 5
Init 19
Phaedra tries hacking at the man again with her glaive.
melee attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
confirm crit: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
xtra crit damage: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10

Sazu Magauge |

Round ?
Init 20
Sazu, not wanting to use all his spells will simply move out of reach from the attackers, hoping his subtle music will allow the others to com through.

Andre Karoxin |

Round 5, Init 16
Andre smirks as the archer falls. "No need to glare, young man. Let me assist you..." Dropping his bow, Andre snatches up his staff as he hustles toward the melee and takes a swing at the knife-wielder.
Attack (IC): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16 I will charge if possible for an additional +2.
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

DM Morvius |

Between all of your assaults, you are able to finish off the remaining two attackers.
If you search them, they have 106gp 63sp among them all. There are 2 greatswords, one of which is masterwork, three daggers, one light crossbow, and three sets of studded leather, one of which is masterwork.
You also find a journal on the man with the masterwork sword and armor that is written in a language none of you understand. That man also has a small pouch with what look like 2 keys and 6 oddly-cut gemstones inside.
