Another question to put to you all.
Shortly Imageshack will probably cease hosting our various maps (and has already ceased to provide high-quality uploads as we've realised), so what will be our preferred way of disseminating handouts in the future.
We have two options:
Simply by email; straightforward in many ways. Not so convenient for maps you might want to reference repeatedly (such as maps of cities or areas the PCs are travelling through).
Or by using something like Dropbox or Googledrive (you probably need a gmail account for the latter). Better in that we can keep all useful files in a collected place. We might also be able to link them (I'm not sure about this). However, the big disadvantage for some is that they may not be able to access from work or from a mobile device.
I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Bonegrit |

I like google drive, and you don't need a gmail account for that (that I'm aware of). With google drawings you can add images separately and the like; alleviates the need to continuously post new versions of the map after relocating icons.

DM Tadpole |

Okay, I've set up an open access Google Drive account for us. Find it here at Follow the Flood Road.
In the folder you should be able to find maps for Vigil, the Hold of Belkzen, the Freedom Town, and the Belkzen/Lastwall borderlands. Please click on the folder and check you have access.

Pyotr |

Here's a quick list of what's recovered, to help organize and keep moving:
Magical Glaive
Breastplate
Dagger (2)
Chainmail (broken, I think)
Bronze Wrist Torcs
Heavy Metal Shield (2)
Short Sword
Masterwork Light Mace
Longsword
Lance
Splint Mail
Hip Flask (unknown contents)
Studded Leather Armor
Potion (unknown)
Arrows (19 reg., 9 mwk., 10 blunt, 1 whistling)
Composite Longbow
Morningstar
4 Horses (2 combat trained)
Military Saddle
Scale Mail Barding
21 gp 26 sp 82 cp

Pyotr |

Thanks awfully. I shall not turn you into a flumph. :-)
But, but, but... Flight! Acid Stings! Awesome Stench Spray ability to torment Bonegrit's heightened sense of smell!
Awww... nuts!

Pyotr |

Also, just to note: I did not include Tanerit's earring in the loot list. Since he's still alive, I can't imagine Pyotr going so far as to pull it out of his ear. But, if one of the more loot-friendly characters elected to do so while Pyotr was gathering the horses, I doubt he would notice or care.

Delkaneth |
Oh cmon, the image of the huge imposing paladin reaching down and yanking the earing out of the thug's ear.....Im picturing Clint Eastwood and Mario Van Peeples in HEARTBREAK RIDGE!
Not really interested in anything specific on that (very impressive) list of loot, but he'd take the MW mace if no one else wanted it. Would probably sell it longterm though so if someone else wants it its better with them than with me.
Do we have any concerns about regular mounts vs combat trained? Im thinking Del is growing attached to his first horse but if we think the whole party needs the upgrade then maybe he'd take one of the combat horses? Not sure we'd really need to all be mounted that way but.......or if Bonegrit can train the animals we have as we travel instead?

Alagor Faelan |

Just got back after a period filled with wok, travel and a marathon Pathfinder RL session (our 30th) for the campaign I run for a couple of friends. Sorry for me being slow to post, let me go through what was happening since the end of the fight and Alagor will finally snap from his daydreaming.

Ok, listen... You guys have to claim some of this loot. There's like six things there I want, and I don't even know what the glaive does yet!
I didn't feel bad when Pyotr inherited the armor (I was going to ask for it anyway as a boon after we saved Dierik's life), because he didn't have much else... a really nice helm, of course, but not much else. But, I can't be the only one decked out, while Alagor is pinching pennies, and Bonegrit is recycling arrows!
Paladins aren't supposed to be greedy! (Also, I really wanted to find out what was going on with that shield of Indarl's... Silly thugs, all giving up and running home crying to their mommas!)

Harika's a light warhorse, so she's already combat-trained, as are all the other mounts in the party if I remember correctly.
The three borrowed horses ridden by Alagor, Khozin and Agtharda are those ridden by Crooked Callan's guards, so they are also combat trained.
The loot spreadsheet has been added to Google Drive for your convenience. It includes all treasure and gear gained from this fight, but I won't include the loot already carried by the PCs or stored back at camp.
Add to your character sheets any items you intend to keep (for example, masterwork light mace for Delkaneth unless someone else claims it). There's no need to add unclaimed items to your character sheet, but I do need you to specify who, where and how the loot is carried (otherwise it gets left behind).
It could reasonably all be loaded onto one of the captured horses.

Alagor Faelan |

What are "Bronze Wrist Torcs"? Do they look sexy? If yes, and if the party agrees, Alagor might take those (of course, if they are not deemed as too expensive).
And additionally - can someone else also take advantage of Composite Longbow (+2 STR)? Alagor might take it, but only if:
1. No one else needs/wants it
2. DM Tadpole tells me it is not against the "creed" of my order to use long range weapons?

Bonegrit |

I won't be able to put it to proper use until level 4, sadly. Although by then upgrading my current one might not be so daunting.

Pyotr |

Ok, I'm sure this will all come as a shock, but Pyotr would happily claim:
Scale Mail Barding
Military Saddle
Glaive
Commor's Horse
Longsword
Heavy Shield w/Dragon (maybe... I need some knowledge (nobility/history) to learn its lineage. not sure a red dragon is a good coat of arms for Pyotr, too.)
So, that's like 3/4ths of the total loot pool. That's not too much for one character who's already way over WBL, right? =)
Seriously! You guys have to take some of this! How do you not want it?

Pellius Fullonna |

I wouldn't worry about it; it's just the way the loot has fallen.
Besides, hopefully we'll go up a level soon and it will even things out soon enough.
Pellius would want a better sword, light armor, and magical items, none of which are available.
Although, he may take the light mace if Del let's him.
Game on!

Pyotr |

Fair enough. I'm really not a loot-greedy person! I just don't want to sell for half-value stuff that I'll actually use. But, I don't want to be patently unfair to the party, either. Sigh... never let the thugs escape. All the loot you wanted was on the guys that ran away... =P
Pellius would want a better sword...
Wait... Don't you have that crazy Unbreakable Sword of Unbreakableness?
...............
So, who and what is getting sent back with Bonegrit? Four horses and two dead, I would guess. The two wounded? Probably best for Pyotr to take the Barding in any event (transparent excuse coming) since Bonegrit is trying for speed and it does actually reduce a horse's movement... except NOT Torshen's Hammer's by a remarkable coincidence!

Pyotr |

Pyotr, why have you turned into a hippy orc with long hair and a topknot? I'm weirded out.
Lol! Really? If it bothers you, I can switch back. Topknot and kinda weird sideburns aside, this avatar (which didn't seem to exist when I created Pyotr) is a lot closer to what I think of with Pyotr. The only reason I started thinking about it was with my last post. The one I've been using just looks rather old... I tend to forget (and I imagine everyone else does, too, assuming they ever give it any thought) that the giant, menacing half-orc is a teenager!

Bonegrit |

Aside from the arrows, not much Bonegrit would put to use in there (until we figure out what the potions and glaive do, at least).

DM Tadpole |

@ Pyotr. No worries, I was only teasing. I commend the attempts to remind people of his youth - something I try to remember as much as possible. Largely the reason why most of the NPCs are so terribly condescending actually.
Now folks, let's get the loot decisions out of the way and get on with the game. Pellius gets the masterwork light mace, Bonegrit the arrows, Pyotr the lions share (!) and the rest goes back to camp with Bonegrit. Does this include the coins and the unidentified potions?
Furthermore, what of the two unconscious thugs? If not healed out of negative hit points, it will limit the speed with which Bonegrit can travel, and could mean the difference between him returning in daylight or at night. There's a little over three hours daylight left in the day, at good speed Bonegrit can cover the distance between their current location and the Freedom Town in an hour.
For everyone else, tell me what order you'll be placing a watch, and what other actions you do as you make camp.

Bonegrit |

I think Pyotr's suggestion with the unconscious goons is a good one, even with Bonegrit's momentary departure: Setting them free when we break camp in the morning with one of the spare horses.

Pellius Fullonna |

I guess I didn't realize that Freedom Town was this close and since we are camping here, then going back to camp to 'deposit' the extra loot makes sense.
As for loot distribution, I think you have it with the exception of the potions, which should remain with us.
I still think that sending Bonegrit by himself is a bad idea and since it seems that we can be back at camp before night fall, then Pellius will volunteer to accompany him. I'll post in the gameplay thread.
Game on!

Ah, I must have misread Pyotr's suggestion. I'll update the gameplay thread a little later in the day.

Alagor Faelan |

As for the loot, after you explainng the "attitude" towards ranged weapons, Alagor would like to take the following:
a) Bronze Wrist Torcs
b) Composite longbow (+2 STR), which he plans to hand over to Bonegrit at the first "proper occasion".
c) satchel of various arrows, left uafter

DM Tadpole |

What are "Bronze Wrist Torcs"? Do they look sexy?
The bronze wrist torcs do indeed look sexy, and I think they’d suit Alagor very well! :-)
With regards to the arrows, both Bonegrit and Alagor have expressed an interest. Who gets what, or are you sharing (and if so, I need a breakdown please)?
Setting them free when we break camp in the morning with one of the spare horses.
I actually think Pyotr’s suggestion was to send the wounded and dead back with Bonegrit immediately, but going with idea of sending them back in the morning suits the campaign much better; it’ll make it easier to keep things interesting for both groups until they get back together.
The loot thread has been updated. Gameplay thread soon to come.

Bonegrit |

How about this with regards to the arrows: Bonegrit hoards all of the arrows. I'll keep all of the masterwork ones for myself (no offense intended, but I'm sure both would agree Bonegrit will get way more mileage out of them—literally and figuratively), and Alagor can restock his quiver from the army of spare quivers I keep stored on Amiro whenever he wishes.

Alagor Faelan |

As for the arrows, it is perfectly logical that Bonegrit should use the best we have. If you do not mind, I'd take just a few of them with Alagor (8 normal+2 blunt), while all the others should go to spares kept on Amiro. Is that OK?
And I hope you are OK with my proposal how to handle in-game the mechanics of Alagor giving you the bow once you are capable of using it fully?
Updated character sheet - 7/13 HP now, added bronze wrist torcs, longbow and a quiver with 8+2 arrows.

Hey Tadpole,
Did we ever figure out what the sword is/does?

DM Tadpole |

@ Pellius; you found the sword about 60% of the way down page 9 of the gameplay thread; Dunagan and Delkaneth subsequently offered limitied but differing assessments of the blade (at the time, Pellius seemed to follow the dwarf's estimation of it being of Elven origin).
Both Tharkon and Tanerit have tried to sunder the blade without success.
It does not detect as magical.
More about the sword will be revealed in the not-too-distant future, although Pellius might not learn these revelations himself :-)

Yep, OK. I had all of that. I just wanted to make that I hadn't missed anything seeing how Pyotr referred to it.
So the blade is of elven origin and seems to have been 'grown' instead of forged but nothing else was revealed. I'm good with that.
Thanks.

Pyotr |

“Look,” he blurts “I’m very sorry. If we won we were supposed to kill him (Commor points at Khozin) but only kill the rest of you if we had to. Or if we wanted to. But I didn’t mean to upset anyone! Ser Yevender said that to be a knight I have to fight brigands, and Skaraben Sharpe’s a good friend so I did what he told me because you’re all brigands. But now the half-orc says my sword isn’t heavy enough to be a knight, so I think I want to be a brigand like you guys!”
Why, oh why did Pyotr have to be asleep for this?! I am now imagining a whole new tale: "The Comic Misadventures of Commor the Foolish, the Brigand Knight!"
Basically a mash-up of Don Quixote, Siegfried from Wagner's Ring Cycle, and Maxwell Smart - Our hero bumbles around the countryside in a vain attempt to become a wealthy and feared brigand, but mistakenly thwarts a coup attempt against the Watcher-Lord, accidentally destroys a bandit fort, and exposes a secret cabal of necromancers. While pretend swordfighting against a giant rock, he inadvertently kills the stone giant terrorizing the nearby village. And when practicing his lance-work against what he thinks are hay bales, he sparks a war between the mountain tribe of ogres and the lowland orcs, that ends up destroying both clans, and ensuring the peace of the region for decades!
Finally, after many years, he limps home, penniless and an utter failure as a brigand. But, he is hailed as Commor the Magnificent! Commor the Stalwart! and Saint Commor of the Freed Lands! for all his heroic deeds!
Sigh... but that's a tale for another day...

Bonegrit |

I think I'm squared away now. Took a trial-by-fire course in BIOS flashing, but got it back up. At work currently, but will be trying to play catchup asap (across all games).
