I just think that it's kind of crazy insulting the guy inside his home with no 'plan' but who knows? It might be fun.
I trust the GM will allow us to make new PCs in case they get killed. Just kidding, I like Pellius. :)

Delkaneth |
'crazy'.......absolutely.
Done by a LG paladin with a big honor-stick-up-the-yahoo ............ probably about right. Hey, we have a cleric with us this time, what could possibly go wrong?

Pyotr may be barking up a dangerous tree here (though not, perhaps, without good reason). After all, one does not make a career in banditry, escape the forces of Lastwall for years and found a town on the footsteps of a realm of orcs without being a formidable character in oneself.
It's a bold adventurer that ignores sound advice from the other side of the screen. Now to figure out how to back down in manly way. Or in Pyotr's case, a half-orcly way...

But... but.. but. He's EVIL! I think. Redeemers lose the detect evil ability.
Seriously, though. I'm not looking to unilaterally drag us into a fight we don't want.

Alagor Faelan |

"Don't look like you know me though," snorts the half-orc as Alagor and Bonegrit walk away, "Me name's Veljka . . ."
Hehehe, believe it or not, I've gone through standard half-orc names for Golarion, and I saw Zeljka there as an option, but since that's a real (although rare) Slav (Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian) name, I've chosen not to use that one knowing your preference for not using RL names in your game :-) So I just made up one myself, loosely based on those available (similar to you)

@ Alagor; thanks for the reminiscences on initiation day. An evocative little tale! Elements of it brought to mind Deferl Cadarn's initiation into the Cult of Midas in Bernard Cornwell's Warlord trilogy - I don't know if you've ever read these?
RE the gameplay thread, I'm kind of waiting on Bonegrit's reaction to being followed before I move things along for you guys, but perhaps we can assume Bonegrit mentions the fact to Alagor should you wish to react yourself.

Alagor Faelan |

@ Alagor; thanks for the profile updates, nice to see the description in particular, do you have any thoughts on the nature of the metal from which Alagor's breastplate and blade are forged. Is the green supposed to be the result of tarnishing?
@ Alagor; thanks for the reminiscences on initiation day. An evocative little tale! Elements of it brought to mind Deferl Cadarn's initiation into the Cult of Midas in Bernard Cornwell's Warlord trilogy - I don't know if you've ever read these?
Now you can see the Real Master - Bravo! I read Warlord Trilogy last year, and initiation scene is a direct reminiscence in what was written in the first book. OK, I do not remember it so well, so I probably added some elements, but your guess was superb. Most importantly, I remember that in the book they slaughtered a bull, which was a part of real initiation to Mithra. In here I changed that to a goat, because for no reason, I already mentioned few times before that Alagor hates goats. So it seemed OK to weave this part somehow in his back story and give a small explanation as to the reason.
As for the armor/blade green tinge, actually I have no idea. I just had this image in my minds eye at the moment, so I included it in the description. Could be the tarnishing effect, although I might try and come up with an explanation how these two items (armor/sword) are actually part of a "set". Could be that it belonged to a wealthy knight who liked to take care of his looks. As already stated before, I will try to keep the sword with Alagor, so once he earns enough money, he will be chasing for an opportunity (if any) to have the sword reforged as masterwork.
EDIT: Am I allowed to add knuckledusters to Alagor's character sheet as a possession? For now, I do not plan on returning them to the muggers - Alagor sees this as giving them again the tools neeed to rob someone else agai. But who knows, if they were to convince me that they really need them for self-defense, I might return them. What are their stats, is it the same as brass knuckles (1d3 dmg, x2, 1lb)?

DM Tadpole |

On the subject of the Warlord chronicles, you might well be interested in this campaign thread recruitment.
Interested to see what you come up with regarding the breastplate and greatsword. Feel free to add the knuckledusters to your character sheet, they are indeed the same as brass knuckles.

Pyotr |

I hadn't settled on rude, yet. But, I can see what you are saying.
I try very hard to avoid reading tone into posts. His answers tend to be very brief, and brevity reads like annoyance. But, he may just be giving short, to-the-point answers.
I read through another campaign of his... here... and I do have a concern. He seems to include a lot of character dialogue in his summary posts of combat, sometimes paraphrased from player posts. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It kind of takes away the cinematic flow of gameplay.
I'm going to stick with it for now. If nothing else, the setting looks very interesting.

DM Tadpole |

Yep, I know what you mean. I've been asking myself if it's just brevity, but on the other hand I asked the same questions repeatedly and just got told to read a source document that didn't have the answer. It frustrated me enough to convince me it wasn't the campaign for me, although the concept is great. I hope it works out well if you get in.
Whilst on the subject of campaign ideas, I was brainstorming the other night about what I'd do next when (or if) Follow the Flood Road ever ends (ie sometime in 2020!). By the time I'd finished I'd come up with 121 different ideas! Man I'm gonna have to live an awful long time.
Finally, today's been a massive day at work folks, and much as I'd love to, I don't think my brain's up to writing up a gameplay post. My apologies. If I can get up early I might post something in the morning (about 8 hours from now).

DM Tadpole |

Lol! Great confessions! Almost as good as this!
It's funny, that scene didn't occur to me as I was writing the thugs' response, but I did watch the Goonies not too long ago, so I guess it must have been there somewhere in my subconscious.

Alagor Faelan |

In terms of sword and armor, I did a bit of exploring and I have found the following tidbit: "Deciding that the Whispering Tyrant presented a significant threat, they (Taldor) launched the Shining Crusade against him in 3754 AR.[2] Warriors from all over the empire rallied, converging on the Ustalavan town of Vellumis as a forward staging area. There they were joined by dwarves from the kingdom of Kraggodan and the well-known Knights of Ozem.[1] One of the leaders of the Taldan armies was the mortal Iomedae, who lead the Knights of Ozem.[7][8]
Over the next 26 years they brought their battle to the Whispering Tyrant, finally securing a beachhead on the northern shore of Lake Encarthan in 3801 AR.[2] During this time, crusaders were attacked on the lake by an omox called Jobox, the Corrupton Contained. The creature sunk numerous vessels, killing countless soldiers before it is imprisoned by the priest Niedevis.[9]"
What I had in mind is the following - after being repeatedly attacked by an unknown beast, and suffering numerous losses, crusaders were finally able to glean enough information from the rare survivors of ambushes along the shores of Lake Enchartan. Recognizing that most dangerous aspect of the beast is it's ability to use acid and that this ability was responsible for most of their losses, commanding Taldor general reacted swiftly. He commissioned a set of suites and weapons to be crafted by the Kraggodan dwarves, which would be able to withstand assault from the monster. A unit was assembled and outfitted with this equipment, and under the leadership of Niedevis the priest, they were finally able to defeat and imprison the monster (Omox).
This specific set (armor/weapon) was worn by one of the survivors of that battle, and the green tinge on the set is actually from the acid the creature (Omox) spew on them. However, dwarven craftsmanship was superb and both the armor and the weapon have been unaffected by acid (aside from leaving a visible mark). Anyway, after defeating the Omox, the wearer of the armor proceeded to fight in the campaign, and went all the way until the final battle in Gallowspire. At the climax of that battle an enraged Tar-Baphon cast his terrible magics upon Taldan General Arnisant. The General was protected by a mighty artifact known as the Shield of Aroden, which absorbed the magics and then broke into a dozen pieces. The impact was so fierce, that at the very moment the Shield of Aroden broke, all nearby magic items were suppressed/snuffed out of their magical properties, including the armor and the sword.
Throughout centuries, this set, along with others of it's kind has been transferred from generation to generation, often changing owners, and it's history was soon forgotten.
Mechanically - I was thinking that maybe somewhere down the line, you might allow Alagor to learn a bit of the history of the sword and armor and maybe re-awaken their magical properties (instead of simply discovering new items). Of course, choice is yours. What do you think?

Alagor Faelan |

On the subject of the Warlord chronicles, you might well be interested in this campaign thread recruitment.
In regards to the campaign you mentioned, I have seen the link and read a bit on it. Honestly, similar to you, I could not find some of the information I wanted, and it seemed like a large investment of time which is something I can not guarantee at the moment. Obviously the author produced a lot of material, and even if chosen, I could not be certain that I could find enough time to join and enjoy another descriptive, role-playing driven campaign.
I wish both you and Pyotr best of luck!

• Feather Token - Bind: 700 gp
The last two feather tokens are taken from way, way back in Dragon #54, I’ll post Pathfinder conversions of them shortly.

DM Tadpole |

Feather Token: Sword
Aura Strong conjuration CL 12th
Slot none Price 300 gp Weight --
=======================================================================
Fashioned from the long, grey wing feather of a Pharasman crow and several shorter, darker feathers gathered at the base, when activated a sword feather token grows to a full-size masterwork short sword. The sword exists for an hour, then vanishes. Ideal for smuggling a weapon into a place where they are normally forbidden, this token is prized by assassins.
=======================================================================
Construction Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, minor creation Cost 150 gp
Feather Token: Bind
Aura Strong conjuration CL 12th
Slot none Price 700 gp Weight --
=======================================================================
This token is made from small, wiry feathers that curl over on themselves in a messy tangle. When placed against a closed door the token seals it as per the spell arcane lock. The arcane lock has a duration of 12 hours. If thrown into an open archway or portal no more than 5-ft. wide the token closes the entrance with a web.
If struck against a creature (a successful touch attack is required) hold person affects the victim. Flying creatures are held motionless in mid-air and do not fall. The token can be thrown no more than 10-ft.
Finally, a bind feather token can be dropped on the floor as a trap. It activates if stepped on, affecting the victim as per a slow spell. A creature passing through a square in which a bind feather token has been lain has a 50% chance of stepping upon it and triggered its effects (the DM may alter this chance depending on the physiology of the offending creature). Such a token may be noticed with a Perception DC20 check, although this is no guarantee it will be recognised as anything more than a tiny bundle of messy feathers.
=======================================================================
Construction Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, arcane lock, hold person, slow, web Cost 350 gp
These variant feather tokens were originally written by Ed Greenwood and published in Dragon #54.

@ Everyone; I've reposted my eaten post now.
@ Alagor, replies to previous posts below;
RE the Pendragon campaign; I decided to bow out. I figured if the GM was unwilling to properly communicate with potential players at the Recruitment stage then it would only lead to grief later on. I’ll be interested to hear how Pyotr fares if he gets selected! Also, I’ll take it as a compliment if ‘Follow the Flood Road’ is keeping you too busy to join over campaigns at the moment (even if Alagor’s having a bit of a hard time at present)!
RE the lore, the armour and the sword. A mighty big thanks for this, it’s interesting stuff (what’s the source, may I ask?). Curiously enough, and without going into too many details, some of your ideas regarding the arms rather parallel something which is already going on behind the scenes in the campaign. Although this initially made me hesitate, with some further thought I think I can weave some of these elements together. If you don’t mind, I may alter certain elements of your idea to make this work better; the details of which Alagor can discover through the course of the campaign.
Does Alagor have any idea of his weapon’s lineage?
I think we can also play up the damage to his arms and armour. If they were once magical, then they would also have once been masterwork. The acid damage has seen to that, and perhaps future foes might take a moment to mock the condition of blade and breastplate!
Thanks again, the more I ponder this, the more neat ideas come. In fact it’s probably changed some of the campaign’s future in a cool new direction. I can’t reveal anymore of course, and it won’t be exactly as you put down.

Alagor Faelan |

Well, I do play in several other campaigns but aside from maybe one or two, all others are either PFS or pretty much combat oriented, so in there I usually just roll the dice and write one to two sentences at most. This one, plus already mentioned couple of others are what make my "creative juices" flowing. Honestly, at this moment I can not commit properly to another heavy role-play campaign.
As for the sources for the sword and weapon set, these are two-fold. Back in November/December there was a big Golem sale at Paizo site, so I bought quite a few items including several complete AP's. Specifically Omox is coming from volume 4 of Second Darkness (Endless Night). Page 83 states the following: "Jobox: Known as the Corruption Contained, this demon haunts the legends and war stories of the Shining Crusade. In the early years of the thirty-ninth century a powerful and vindictive omox in league with servants of the Whispering Tyrant confounded ships of virtuous warriors sailing Lake Encarthan, sinking numerous vessels and sending dozens of heroes to ignominious, drowning deaths. After numerous failed attempts, the priest Niedevis managed to draw the demon ashore and trap it in an ensorcelled bier of glass and red iron. The horror remains encaged today, secreted away within the vaults of Pharasma’s Chapel of Voices in Caliphas.
The rest I found on This link Actually, I started from there and then explored the story.
Of course I do not mind you altering any elements you need. After all, this is your world, and we're just playing and contributing a bit. Feel free to make any changes you want - I look forward to Alagor discovering it.
As for weapon lineage - I'd say that Alagor (and Dalamad) knew very little. They know the "legend" that this was once worn by warriors who fought/defeated Whispering Tyrant, but probably neither of them really placed much trust in that story. As far as Alagorn is concerned, this could also easily be worn by the orc whom Dalamad or someone else defeated and took from him. So he knows the "basic legend" but considers it just that - a myth in a way, probably not correct.
Feel free to have someone mock the condition of his equipment - it'll probably hurt Alagor's feelings a lot, but this being a gift from Dalamad, he will never give up on it. So expect some very rash actions if someone teases him about that :-)

NPC Profile: Agiz
Perhaps the strangest member of Dierik’s caravan is its purser and engineer, the diminutive, eccentric ratfolk Agiz. Were the simple fact of his race not enough, Agiz’s overlapping, gauzy robes and penchant for jewellery make him yet more distinctive.
Agiz is one of the old timers in the caravan, having travelled with Dierik for almost a decade. Prior to that, he was an independent trader in his own right, operating principally in the lands south of the Inner Sea. He left his overcrowded warren in Alkenstar with a swarm of his brothers, sisters and cousins, and several years they made a tidy profit as nomad traders, dealing in just about every commodity short of slaves. Tragically an outbreak of the Black Death in Katheer claimed every member of Agiz’s clan in less than half a week. For some reason Agiz was left alone, not succumbing that had overwhelmed his kin.
For a while, Agiz continued his mercantile enterprises alone, and whilst he did not want for business, loneliness left him morose and directionless.
Dierik and Agiz first crossed paths in Katapesh, where Dierik first employed the ratman on a temporary basis to make sense of his accounts, which, with profits accrued in over a half-dozen currencies and the ambiguous values of trade goods to boot, were giving him quite a headache. By the end of his first week Agiz had the ledgers balanced and presentable, and had also single-handedly put back together a rickety old wagon Dierik had written off as unsalvageable. The contract was extended indefinitely.
Now Agiz is as an established a figure in Dierik’s crew as Santrian or Deramil, and Dierik trusts his handling of the books completely. Whilst Agiz is never afraid to exaggerate the worth of an item in the hopes of getting a little more, being at the other end of a rip-off is something he considers utterly inadmissible. He invariably accompanies Dierik on the finalization of any transaction, large or small, and his employer never puts his seal to a deal without first hearing Agiz’s squeaky whisper in his ear.
Despite his long history with the caravan, Agiz is not as well-liked as Santrian or even Deramil. His eccentricities and the seemingly random favour he occasionally bestows upon his travelling companions makes people wary. Agiz likes some and dislikes others, with no apparent rationale that even those in his esteem can ascertain. He carries particularly disdain for Zriorinta, allegedly for her entourage of cats although many suspect a deeper reason.
His strange behaviour is a common topic of conversation amongst the crew. Particularly popular subjects include how rich the ratman himself maybe (given his skill at the merchant arts and a lifetime of trade, it might outstrip even Dierik), why these days he appears to hide from other ratfolk on the odd occasion he encounters them, and why he hurls platinum coins with his slingshot when the caravan is thrown into battle.

Obviously the tapestry was top priority to get access to the witch ... but we should probably sell all the other stuff before we leave and lose the opportunity .......

DM Tadpole |

Hey all,
It looks like Pyotr might be interested in the ethersnare dust, but Pel and Del are passing on the magical potions. Pyotr, do you want to press ahead with making a purchase (and will Pel and Del agree?).
If you want, we can fast forward to departing the Freedom Town, and handle further purchases in the Discussion thread whilst the adventurers are on the road.
Jork’s Junk Shop can supply the majority of basic adventuring supplies, an average selection of weapons, only the very occasional magical item besides a few cure light wounds potions, and a small array of alchemical items and materials.
There’s also the Temple of Abadar for some magical supplies, mainly healing related.
You might also be able to sell some of the other antiquities you’ve picked up at Jork’s. If we do the trading ‘off-camera’ prices will be more or less fixed, fairly close to standard. You’ll miss the chance to bargain for your gain or loss, and bypass some roleplaying and rumours (though nothing crucial). On the other hand, it gets you back into the action quicker if you’re yearning for a choice to swing a weapon.
A couple of complications with this plan;
• Pyotr might not have time to pick up his gauntlet.
• Delkaneth might have something to say to the two thugs who stole his money first.
• If Alagor goes to see Marshall Oswald it might put him out of sync with the rest of the group. Conceivably they could even leave without him and he could catch up.
On the other hand, if you want to continue roleplaying through, there’s still a few interesting intrigues of the Freedom Town to reveal themselves (again, nothing that can’t wait till later), and I don’t think it’d be too long before we were moving on towards the Hungry Mountains anyway.
It’s currently somewhere just past 10am in the Gameplay thread.
I'm happy to go in whatever direction you want :-)

Alagor Faelan |

I am torn in here between going back to Freedom town and exploring the disappearance of the girl one way (informing sheriff) or the other (seeking the father). However, I would really hate to be left out of the Hungry Mountains expedition, and I do not see Alagor riding alone trying to catch up on the others as a viable option. So, unless the "missing quartet" (actually trio) makes some additional detour and creates time for Alagor to go back, I opt to keep young brute in camp, sulking over his choices.
As for the shopping - I'd buy few things for sure, alas Alagor is broke as a church mouse, so no shopping here.

Pyotr |

I am staring down the barrel of a murderous week. It honestly caught me by surprise. Somehow, several office meetings and numerous vendor meetings all got scheduled for this week.
I'm going to try to take some time tonight and get caught up on the thread, and get a post up. Feel free to sell the locket in Pyotr's possession, and divvy up the 49 gold still in the box.
I definitely want to purchase some blunt weapons (clubs are fine, if you don't want to use money), and some holy water (temples generally sell it at cost).

Delkaneth |
id hate to miss the opportunity to mentally torture those 2 goons, but im also ready so start smacking things again!
we should get a recap of what we have to sell and what we want to buy, then maybe a few recap posts before we move forward?

Sorry Del, I didn't make myself very clear. My meaning is that the RP with the goons is definitely something I want to cover before departure, but that we'll try and do that swiftly.
Unless anyone voices any major objections, it looks like the consensus is in favour of moving on. I'll put together a recap post this evening (in about 12 hours from now), and we'll start addressing purchases in the Discussion thread.
Bu right now, I've got to go invigilate some exams!

Buying & Selling in The Freedom Town!
Sorry, couldn’t think of a better title.
@ Pyotr; congratulations for getting into the Pendragon game. Martin of Berwick sounds like a great character; it’ll be interesting to see where it goes. Oh, and if it came to a fight, Torshen’s Hammer would trash Allegro.
Okay, on to business. The first thing to factor in is that some of your loot is still at camp or being carried by Bonegrit or Alagor (well, not really Alagor). If you wanted to go back to camp and fetch all of it that would be fine, but it would delay your departure by an hour.
Delkaneth
• 1 pp
• 1 gp
• 12 sp
• 11 beggar’s diamonds worth 100 gp each. One of the diamonds given to the PCs by Yevender (unwittingly or not . . .) is flawed and worth only 50 gp. Three of these diamonds belonged to Tharkon.
• Ceramic jar containing gold dust, Delkaneth’s unsure of the value, so we’ll be saying 25 gp.
• Unidentified potion (belonging to Tharkon).
• I’m assuming that the majority of Tharkon’s possessions have not been lugged around the Freedom Town and are back at camp, but if you have a differing opinion I’m cool with that! Things worth selling are;
o Masterwork dagger
o Masterwork swordbreaker dagger
o Hand crossbow
o Chain shirt
o Battered old longsword
o Jork won’t buy the poisons.
Del’s total (treasure only, not including resale of Tharkon’s gear and weapons): 1087 gp, 2 sp
Pellius
• 22 gp
• 2 beggar’s diamonds worth 120 gp (Pellius’ has heard different interpretations of their value).

Pyotr
• 76 gp (including 49 gp from the box in the tower)

• Pyotr; are you buying the ethersnare dust?
• Pellius wants a light mace and some form of healing.
• Pyotr’s recommended blunt weapons for dealing with undead.
• Travelling with the caravan provides you with shelter. If you don’t have a tent or at least a bedroll purchasing one might be a good idea. Yesterday the adventurers heard thunder from the Hungry Mountains; it may be raining up there.
• Trail rations can be provided by the caravan. The PCs must decide how many days’ worth they require.
As for what’s available;
Unless noted, prices are at CRB standard;
• All simple weapons, a good assortment of martial weapons (ask if you’re interested), a very small selection of silver, cold iron and masterwork weapons (again ask if you’re interested).
• A small selection of armour (no heavy armour)
• A good selection of basic adventuring gear (most things from the CRB, other items please ask)
• Very few alchemical items but let me know what you’re interested in and I’ll let you know.
• Potions of Cure Light Wounds sold at 70 gp each.
• Potions of Cure Light Wounds 50 gp each.
• Potions of Cure Moderate Wounds
• Potions of Remove Disease 700 gp each
• Holy Water 20 gp per flask
• Potions of Sanctuary 50 gp
• Scroll of Death Ward 700 gp
• Scroll of Delay Poison 150 gp
• Scroll of Make Whole 150 gp
• Wand of Cure Light Wounds – the priests of the temple are unsure how many charges it has remaining, but they don’t think it’s many. Thus they’ll sell it at the cheap price of 300 gp.
This has all been done in rather a hurry (when I really should be marking :-p), so feel free to throw questions if you need clarification on anything.

Delkaneth |
@ Tadpole: one "meta" question.......are we keeping Khozin as an NPC healer? or is our new 'guide' and npc oracle healer or something? if the answer is NO to both of these the party should consider buying the CLW wand. Both Pyotr and Delkaneth can use it and it should have more than 6 charges so its a bargain vs the potions.
@ Party: how are you lawful types feeling about keeping/selling Tharkon's gear? He's been asking it be returned, we certainly haven't promised it yet...and its another 300-400gp if we sell it so its a big decision to make.
Delkaneth is for returning to the caravan, grabbing everything we can sell and maxing out this shopping trip. Looks like a 4-way split for the 'original' party (sorry, Alagor) gives us each 397gp without making any decisions on Tharkon's weapons or the wand.
50'Silk Rope - 10gp
Thief Tools - 30gp
1 flask Holy Water - 25gp
Light Hammer (Cold Iron) - 2gp
Throwing Axe (Cold Iron) - 16gp
1 Potion CLW (even if we get the wand) - 50gp
Question on Ghost Salt. item entry says 20gp, table at the top of the page says 200gp......is it available, and whats the price in Freedomtown?
That's 208gp before the ghost salt question. Will probably stop at that for the moment, start saving up for bigger toys!

Bonegrit |

Keep Tharkon's stuff for now (I know I'm not one of the Lawful types, but chiming in regardless, so... neener neener!) under the hopes that this Hungry Mountains trip will pan out. If we get the goods without needing his knowledge, sell off the stuff. He tried to kill Dierik and damn near killed Pellius. Putting the weapons back in his hands would be silly, given that.

DM Tadpole |

@ Delkaneth;
RE the meta-questions . . . meta-gaming is naughty :-p. All I'm willing to divulge is that Khozin will be accompanying the party on their expedition (if they let him), Agtharda has some magical skills, but you can only find out what by asking her by witnessing them or asking her in the Gameplay thread (keep in mind she's mute).
The wand may or may not be a bargain.
Rather surprisingly, Jork does have an ioun torch.
Rope - yes
Thieves' Tools - yes (Jork's not selling them, but Delkaneth can get together enough implements to formulate a set)
Potion of CLW - yes
Holy water - yes. Note that the Freecoin House sells holy water for only 20 gp, rather than the usual 25 gp.
Cold iron hammer - yes
Cold iron throwing axe - no
No ghost salt.
Del's total expenditure; 187 gp

Pyotr |

I'll pass on the ethersnare dust. I'll gladly pitch in on the wand of CLW, and risk the possible rip-off (unless there's a way to determine, like detect magic and good spellcraft?).
Stangely, and maybe contrary to what you may expect of the Paladin, Pyotr would have absolutely no problem selling the assassin's gear to finance Dierik's recovery. He would probably object to selling it for our own gain (though he might just be convinced that some masterwork blunt weapons, some flasks of holy water, or a wand of CLW are a necessary expenditure for the mission).
Pyotr's shopping:
4 flasks of holy water = 80gp
Wand of CLW = 300gp
Tents for everyone (7 people) = 140 gp
Blunt weapons - maces or morningstars everyone can use, maybe a warhammer for Pyotr.
Rations and waterskins for everyone (in case they don't have them) = 7 people x 4 days travel + 1 day dungeoneering = 35 rations and 7 waterskins = 24gp 5sp
If we're finishing up in the late afternoon, can I go get my gauntlet?

Alagor Faelan |

Just a few minor clarifications here - Alagor is (currently) very poor in terms of money (2gp 2sp), but at least he is very well equipped. Not knowing what is going to be available later or not, I purchased quite a lot of starting gear including sunrod, torches, bedroll, trail rations, silk rope and a grappling hook, crowbar, caltrops and what not. On top of that all, you might remember that I opted to take 2 CLW potions instead of MW option for my sword/armor, so we have those as well. As for blunt weapons, Alagor has a light mace and sling.
@Delkaneth - no worries, Alagor was not part of your adventures so far, so it is perfectly logical for you guys to split things 4 ways. I understand that.
@DM Tadpole - is there maybe a possibility to exchange light mace for great club in terms of my starting equipment? The cost is the same, but somehow, great club is maybe a bit more "logical" for two handed fighter?
And finally - if all these shopping trips are happening, and if Pyotr is going to get his glove in the afternoon, than Alagor would surely accompany him back to Freedom town, in order to try and investigate more on the missing girl.

DM Tadpole |

Hey all, you won't be finishing about late afternoon. Going to the Temple of Abadar adds an extra hour, pushing your departure date back from 12 noon to 1pm. The gauntlet won't be finished yet. You can delay further if you wish, but Santrian will probably fret.
@ Alagor; to be honest, I'm trying to put you off investigating the girl right now as we've more or less got all the PCs chronologicallyand geographically back in the same place. This will make advancing the gameplay thread much easier.
Also remember you have one of your potions of CLW to Bonegrit.
Finally, I'm happy with swap from light mace to greatclub, but consider the window for changes to your starting equipment now closed. :-)
@ Pyotr; there's no need to buy provisions, the caravan will supply them for free. Still knowing everyone's got five days worth of rations is useful for me.
To identify the wand is detect magic plus a DC 16 Spellcraft check, this is a spell that Del can cast.

Alagor Faelan |

Thank you. Character sheet updated accordingly. I will not pursue investigating the girl at this moment, so we can finally move forward towards Hungry Mountains. Btw. Alagor has only 3 days of trail rations (of his own)
@Bonegrit - please remember to add 1 Potion of CLW to your char. sheet (I deleted it from mine)

Delkaneth |
hehe......that was fun!
whats not so funny is that I took ranks in knowledge arcana but NOT spellcraft?!?! Ugh...
The wand is probably still a good idea and Id definitely kick in my share if that's what we decide to do

Pellius Fullonna |

@ Pellius; any purchases to make?
I would like to have a light mace and a couple of healing potions but no money so it will have to come from Del's stash.
Are you keeping track of how much each person 'should' have?

Whilst Del's been carrying the beggar's diamonds and some other goodies, I don't think he considers them his (correct me if I'm wrong Del!). Rather it's party wealth, so it should go far enough for Pel to get the mace and healing potions.
As for what a person should have, I've got an up-to-date spreadsheet of everyone's gear and treasure.
Or if this refers to WBL, you're all happily under. There'll be plenty of opportunity to be rich adventurers later, but for now I think the campaign benefits from the pressures of having to scrape by.
Just hit midnight over in the 'Nam, so tomorrow I'll summarise all the purchases made above.

Delkaneth |
Its mine, all mine, BWA-HA-HA.........
I mean, of course not, that's party loot. unless my math is wrong (and we all know tadpole's math is better) the stuff sold so far is approx. 397gp per character.

Pyotr |

Yeah, my expectation was that we would outfit for the expedition as a party, and then divide up the remainder. That was a big part of why Pyotr wouldn't object to selling off Tharkon's gear. Pyotr wouldn't have a problem with using the confessed assassin's wealth to mitigate the costs of healing the victim. The fact that we would keep most of the equipment at completion notwithstanding... =)

Actually Pel, with the beggar's diamonds and the 22 gp Pellius' has you could easily make those purchases. Note my summary of Pellius' wealth in the Buying and Selling in the Freedom Town post.
That being said, it isn't necessary; take a look at my next post where I've tried to simplify and summarise the purchases for everyone.

DM Tadpole |

Okay, allow me to summarise your assorted spending.
First of all, with regards to your gems and art objects. Is the intention to convert all of these to hard cash whilst in the Freedom Town, or simply to keep them as they are for now? The following write-up assumes the later, but I can easily adjust as you wish.
Also, will any of the PCs be ‘banking’ any of their cash with the caravan before they head out, or taking out any of their cash which has already been left in the caravan’s care?
The assumption is Tharkon’s gear has not been sold.
These questions aside; here’s a summary of your spending.
Delkaneth’s Purchases:
• Ioun Torch – 75 gp
• 50-ft. Silk Rope – 10 gp
• Thieves’ Tools – 30 gp
• One flask of Holy Water – 20 gp
• Cold Iron Light Hammer – 2 gp
• Potion of Cure Light Wounds – 50 gp
Total GP spent: 197 gp
Pyotr’s Purchases:
• Four flasks of Holy Water: 80 gp
• Warhammer – 10 gp
Total GP spent: 90 gp
Group purchases made by Pyotr:
• Seven tents – 70 gp*
• Wand of Cure Light Wounds (carried by Pyotr) – 300 gp
Total GP spent: 370 gp
Pellius’ Purchases:
• Light mace – 5 gp
• Two Potions of Cure Light Wounds – 100 gp
Total GP spent: 105 gp
Bonegrit:
• Morningstar (bought for him by Pellius) – 8 gp
Total GP spent by the party: 770 gp
Assuming all the loot hasn’t been converted to cash, I’d say these purchases were spent were made by using the remaining beggar’s diamonds made from the sale of the tapestry; amount totalling 750 gp (not including the three beggar’s diamonds which belonged to Delkaneth). The outstanding 40 gp could be covered by the sale of Pyotr’s locket, giving Pyotr 30 gp in change.
Please update your character sheets accordingly. You’ll have until Monday to make additions and revisions to these decisions, then you’ll have to settle with what you’ve got.
*The CRB lists these as 10 gp, rather than 20 gp as Pyotr previously posted.
EDITED due to error RE holy water flasks (thanks Alagor!)
