Yeah, I want to know this too... I think I might have to adjust my character because I have a proficiency in two martial weapons of my choice, but sniper rifle might be exotic... didn't see where it said that anywhere though.

If so, probably no big. I can trade out my stamp attack for exotic proficiency, but want to make sure I'm not breaking the rules. :)

Continuing as part of the story. Each "mission" is a mostly self-contained story.

Yup, this is part of a continuing plot. There was a brief summary in the recruitment, but nothing should be hugely difficult to explain.

Guns are all simple weapons, bar the heavier weapons, which might be exotic. Rocket Launchers aren't simple.

And, yup, Solomon and Jennifer have both been in stories before, and Nurai has been in all the previous jobs. It's a quirk of this game that after each chapter players have the choice to swap out and try a new character. It makes for some interesting interactions between characters, and some very bizarre stuff.

OK, ladies and gentleman, here is your job choice.

A night on the Town

Midsummers Night! Founder's Night! Fever is at fever pitch as the town prepares to party. There will be food, from Aileen's Bakery, the Tumultuously Tiny Taco Company Robert's Finely Refined Burger Company and Pi77a! Drinks from the Sanctuary Bar and the Blind Seer! Music by the Fever Amateur Concerto and, later, DJ Frosty Tipz.

Nothing could possible go wrong in a supernatural community loaded up on food, booze and partying, right?

...right?

The Broken Cup

The Museum in Fever has always been special. Perhaps it's simply a quirk in the town, that magic items still have a place there. Maybe the place simply attracts magic items. Or, of course, someone goes and gets them.

However they get there, though, someone has been stealing them, and seems to aiming for one exhibit in particular - an old, broken cup.

Both look great, but I think I'd enjoy the party atmosphere of A Night on The Town. What a good time to introduce new characters than Fever's biggest night! A formal event, I assume.


Clearly this festival is an opportunity for the Astounding FANTASMO! to try and rekindle his career?

Both also sound good to me, and it looks like I am the minority already, but just throwing in the fact that a good mystery about magic items sounds great to me, and curious about what the old, broken cup is.


It does sound cool, but it seems like it would be a hell of a lot harder to introduce new characters into it. I may be wrong on that though.

Doctor Solomon was my first adventurer in this game but I ran into some mechanical difficulty with him. I shelved him for a while, recently rebuilt him, and now he's back.

As such, I think the Broken Cup is exactly Solomon's speed, though last time he was here he did a pretty good job investigating certain mysterious party events. I'm game for either, though Jim (my other character) would be sad to miss a party.

Oh, it'll be simple enough to introduce people. There's a reason you all have a Campaign trait, but I have a slightly more organic plan for that one.

So that's 3 for Party Night and 1 for the Library Ultra Secret 'Shhhh' party so far, with our original trio yet to vote.

OOOoooo so much potential with both.

I'm throwing in with the museum, if only to see how our GM, trained archaeological scientist with his behind the scenes experience at museums, has in store for our characters. Special museum fun.

Also, special museum things to break. Gonna stick with Nurai for that, give her and her shadows eidolon a chance to welcome the newcomers. Hopefully it won't involve gun again.

I'd imagine a few cure disease spells would make pretty short work of it.


I wouldn't think so; particularly given the fact that IIRC this is a world where magic is super duper top secret.

Just as clarification... not sure if it was clear... Median is using telepathy (universal monster rule, not spell) when she speaks in <this format>, not the message cantrip or anything discernible.

If it would be clearer with some other format, or you guys already have a format for that, just let me know.

It was clear for me. Nurai's very used to telepathy from others so I figured she could give a strong if buzzy brief thought for Medina to pick up after Medina initiated.

As she doesn't have telepathy, Nurai is now using Message so she can invite Medina, Jennifer, and Doctor Solomon at the same time to bring people together. She's all about that - and to make things easier on us & the GM. I wasn't entire sure where everyone was, but I figured on the way there she'd spot each person enough to do this.

So basically I guess that would be:
Bold = out loud
Italics = subtle
Quoted = in a voice
Enclosed = over a medium

With all the abilities & tech going on and some of us having more the one being communicating, I think having the means of communication within the post/scene is clearer.

<this> also has other uses, like foreign languages others can understand and other unusual speech. We could end up really wound up trying to code everything when we can include the information in the posts and ask if there are concerns of confusion or questions.

Like I said, I didn't have any with any of the posts that have used telepathy or internal voices so far.

If you guys want we can create a formatting system for this, but honestly I feel 'making it clear it's not regular speech' and 'saying the form of non-standard communication' should be enough.

Not trying to be contrary, but you can come up with all the formatting you want, but I'll forget and just use whatever is in my head at the moment. The most I can hope for is getting it the same across my own posts.

Wasn't trying to start an argument, promise. Was just confused at the same formatting for different things, so thought I might be doing it wrong. I think we're golden though. Everyone is being clear about what they are doing.

She's just talking to Joseph quietly, not addressing the room, but I'm sure someone could overhear if they were specifically trying to. It's Fever, and Valda's friend, so Median isn't doing anything extra trying to hide (or she would just speak telepathically).

(Also, in reading back, I am not sure whether that comment should have been about the cup. I was examining both items, so it's unclear.)
