Lief quaffs his vial, bringing his barrier up, and easing his worry somewhat. Watching the hall getting destroyed, he takes heart that the attackers aren't going after patrons, for now. This doesn't have to be a bloody affair... does it? The question in his mind is quickly answered, as blood pours from the chest of one of the intruders. That's unfortunate... Seeing Kaylayne readying rocks, Lief stands back for now, yelling at the intruders.

"Leave now, and avoid further bloodshed, blaggards!"

Lief quaffs and tries to intimidate, but only manages a chuckle from the thug nearest him. Samaritha steps up behind Tweedle Dee the guard and throws a Scorching Ray over his shoulder at the half-orc, missing wildly and scorching a line in the carpeting.

As the good guys engage the party, they do their best to trash the room as they fight, grabbing chairs, knocking over tables, and generally being as disruptive as they can. They seem to be enjoying themselves immensely though they don't manage a hit on their opponents.

Dimitrio is suddenly surrounded by two thugs and his bravado seems to have been ignored. Hoping for the guards to come quick and put and end to this, the bard steps back and starts inspiring his comrades as well as demoralizing the opponents.

Once more, he speaks of Varisian legends where bravery was paramount. In this particular tale, he tells of how a Varisian rogue managed to skewer a couple of werewolves.

I'm fine with a little light speech during a performance without stopping it. I'll likely be more strict than I would with another character, but what you said is a fine length.

- - -

Also, you need to be able to hear Dimitrio to get his bardic bonus (not also see which I told one of you in error). As you're split in this combat, I'll use the handy perception checks to see if you heard enough of his bellowing to be helpful.

Not sure what the DC would be, but I think something like DC 0 (sounds of a conversation), -1 per 10' and -5 for being though a door. 'course with your freakishly high rolls, both Lief and Kaylayne made it and get the bonus. Yes Lief... that means your crit confirms - you had only missed by 1.

Dimitrio turns tail and rushes back toward the kitchen all the while continuing to tell tall heroic tales to grant an edge to the party.

Ederin:
As you turn back and rush toward the cages, you see a window pane is missing from the southern most window. It looks as if someone carefully removed it…

The guards step up on the prisoners and ready actions.

Meanwhile…

In the kitchen:
The kitchen thugs stop what they’re doing and settle up with the party. Please note, there is fire in the kitchen outside the fireplaces, but they haven’t really had time to get it going so it should be fairly easy to stop if you can get to it in a few rounds.
