Elven team in Campaign Elves vs Dwarves -- Dwarves and Gnomes Keep Out (Inactive)

Game Master Chainmail

An old school homebrew campaign for a party of Elves. They will interact with a party of dwarves on an increasing basis.

So I'm off for break now, so certainly let me know if the need for an alternate comes up. I won't make a character yet because I don't know what may be needed.
thanks! I'm keeping up with you guys playing. looks like a great game so far

ELFHOME needs elves.

Elves needed to save the elven homeland in this homebrew campaign.

Two more elves, even humans would be accepted, to compete against the dwarves who are also running around this world.

15pt buy--wood elf build is +2STR; +2DEX; -2CON--no trait but an extra campaign feat.

Homebrew campaign - elven team working to reclaim lost glory versus an inhospitable world and another PC party of dwarves.

15pt buy CORE only with special campaign traits. Elven fighter or barbarian build preferred. +2STR; +2DEX; -2CON for Wood Elves make fighter construction somewhat easier (barbarians somewhat constrained). Half elves and humans welcome too.

Don't suppose I could submit a character.

Be pretty funny to have to battle myself.

(BTW this is Brask just in case.)

Thanks for the bump adam!

It's been a fun campaign so far. The party is desperately in need of a primary front line man and also a character who has actual access to healing magic. At least I know that's what I would choose. Paladin could be nice to assume both roles

what level should we build up to? I could make either a cleric, paladin or a front line fighter doesn't bother me. Also, are their any restrictions on classes for the wood elf?

Level 2 now - core - paladin, cleric, fighter or barbarian would be good.

Aye its Core book only, but a lot of fun all the same. It's been hard work, the Elves haven't had as much success as we might like.

Yes, any fighter type meleer would be good. Paladin would be nice for the healing (we're light on that). The barbarian was good, but never got much of a chance to shine.

Until we get to 4th level we are currently very light on healing. Therefore personally my vote would be for a Paladin, because of the dual roles that are filled in by that call. However, honestly I don't mind much what we end up with.

Still light on elf front-liners. Any help is appreciated.

If needs be I can make a strong silent fighter to take up the slack till we find someone new. Will take me all of 10 minutes

sorry for the wait will have one posted up shortly. Been traveling and can't make a character on my mobile lol.

I vote for you to join. Nice character build

Looks good - but since this is core - no archetypes. Base paladin is still kick &*^*. Ready to post in gameplay.

oops my apologies I thought I saw something about APG >.<;, I will have my character/first post up shortly :)

Edit; I got the character fixed up now~ Just building his profile really quick. Is there a time when you want me to post?

I know, there are some bits I would love from the APG, but not allowed at the minute. Come join us in the gameplay thread

Roger that!

My dude was so much more effective before core only rules, but it's too late, now. Run what ya brung! LOL

I'll evoke away, anyway. We're not helpless.

No that we aren't. But its good we have at least some healing again. Did we get any potions from ELFHOME before going back out?

I will be bringing some healing potions in with me, I was trying to go the healing paladin route. Decent ac, alright combat skill but major focus on cha/healing/LoH.

Am I starting with the party or could I have been traveling with the military unit and join them that route? I just didn't want it to be like Wil was always there~ kinda thing.

Not a clue I'm afraid

You will be with the military unit. I'll give you a sweet introduction, and you can follow it up.

Roger that Chainmail. :)

Check the spoiler, it is all you now.

'Dotting' t' be keepin' an eye out fer joinin'. (^_^)

Hey there Suny!

Sunny is a good player, I can vouch for them as I played with them in a pho before.

Kai'itza :)

We still need more; that is for sure.

Dramatis Persona = active characters

Seltyn = Wizard
Talon = Ranger
Marlamin = Druid
Wilaml = Paladin

Nonactive to semiactive (not on this raid)
Kalthos = Rogue
Elorin = Bard

NPC bannerman - Carries an elven standard. Currently has a bless effect (can stack with an actual bless) on entire group.
He is with the group.

Room for a cleric most definitely (core only)/ fighter, rogue, or barbarian good too
Elves, half elves, and humans

Rilly?

I ken strip down one'a th' Avatar's whos games have fallen by th' way side.

*Holds minutes silence for the fallen* (-_-)

Hey-YA! There Corerue! Heee! Though t'is a pity our gig for you're Quartermaster an' such fell through.

Okeys then, though t'will be a few more days afore I gets tie t'be workin' th' character up, an' all.

Um..where be th' guide lines in workin' up'a charcter...?

I dun't seem t' see 'em? (¬_¬)

Much cheers t' ye an' yours. (^_^)

15 pt buy core only at level two using elves half-elves or humans
can use optional elf template = wood elf +2 ST +2 DEX -2 CON. Dump stats allowed.
Party could use a cleric - another front-liner will work too.

This is somewhat at retro/old school flavor - so only need one book - the wonderful CORE book. Before falcatas and summoners and archetypes ever existed.

Aye...good-O!

Will work up somat over t'week-end. (^_^)

Am also thinkin' o' usin' 'Aquatic Elf' as me type. Izzat okeys with ye?

Geeze 15 points in't gona' go even a middlin' way....(¬_¬)

*Wanders off.....pondering*

Much cheers t' ye an' yours. (^_^)

Don't forget the awesome feats! You get no traits, but you get an extra game-specific feat at 1st. They're very good.

We lost a barbarian, and sorta lost a rogue and a bard. The paladin is new, and a healer-oriented build. Our druid's a combat-oriented one, looking at shape-changing when he can finally do it, and not big on spells. Our bard was a weak fighter, but carried us through our first mission with awesome charisma and social skills.

A straight-up melee guy would also be sweet. A self-buffing warrior cleric or bard would also rock.

Frontline: paladin and druid

backline: wizard and ranger archer with a sweet bow

As mentioned, we have a bannerman (Flambeaux. LOL!) with a permanent bless effect as long as he's displaying it. We all guard him.

If I were building the party, I'd be looking at either a cleric who can self-buff in a pinch, or a straight-up melee fighter or barbarian. There's just no substitute for a good melee guy when you need one. Clerics are full casters, though, and can tank if they have to. We could use that. I'm pretty sure the dwarves have a cleric. Great friends, awful enemies.

If the bard returns, we'd have a face. If not, clerics usually have okay charisma, and can fill in a little in that role.

I guess I'd like a tough cleric, but not everybody likes to play them, so that's okay. We'll eventually fight the dwarves, and they're going to have lots of hp, AC, and magic resistance. They win in a toe-to-toe, we win if we're prepared and act first.

Indeed, those were good times as that was my first serious PBP. good to see you are still running around the boards. :)

We need more healing, but on saying that, if you get another frontline fighter to bash things with a big bashy stick then we in the long run might not need so much healing. It's six of one and half a dozen of the other

Corerue wrote:

(^_^) Aye, indeed they were! Lookin' forw'd t' joinin' with th' new crew.

I still be scamperin' abouts th' place. (^_^)

*Wiggles toes as pondering continues...*

Hoping to sneak Sunset's character in the grand meeting between a noble mercenary company and the elf party that is traveling under the guise of a less than reputable mercenary company.

Updated the campaign tab -- character list should be updated.

Kalthos' controller is overseas, so he is listed active, but if Sunset pops in we will have him go inactive.

Agin', thank'e fer lettin' me int'a play. Though I do agin' sadly remind folks I wun't be able 't muster up somat fer a couple o' days yet.

Shift workin' an' way diff'r'nt time zones an' all that. *Bows*

No problem, obviously we will find another dramatic entrance for Sunset. Now we'll see how the paladin likes the plan to loot the depot of the humans for military equipment :-) while disguised as unsavory mercenaries :-) .

Oh god, yeah that will be an interesting one to sell. Might just not happen to be brutally honest, as we don't want to harm relationships with the only guy who can regularly heal us.

Sorry fer bein' a slow-poke, but bein' 2nd level what be th' startin' allowance of shiny?

As fer classes? T'is a toss up tween Rogue/Fighter or m'be Bard/Somat?

*Ponders out loud* How's abouts a Bard/Rogue.....or Druid/Fighter.........

Suggestions?

Much cheers t'ye an' yours!

I get to type this an' then go to bed after a 12 hour shift is my claimed defense (^_^)

1000 gp.

Might be nice to have another fighter in party.

Start with average for class + 1000gp.

There will be good RP flavor for a rogue, especially on the current mission. Plus a chance for a solid campaign specific prestige class. Rogue/fighter would be solid too.

Building a wood elf fighter/rogue is good. Can get high ST and DEX.

An elf rogue with weapon finesse is another option. The prestige class in game allows you to take a feat later that allows dex bonus to damage with light weapons, unarmed, and rapier. Even rogue/monk under these circumstances is doable. Builds with low ST, CON, and CHA are a possibility.

But people were lamentin' th' lack of healing type things...?
SO...p'raps Druid/Rogue..?

Or does Druids not get t' be healin' pplz?

*Ponders more*

Awe Maaaan, thinikin' abouts me class-es be rilly ponderous.

DM Chainmail:
So, what is the view/ideas/take upon 'Sea Elves' in your world? Looking forwards to sharing ideas back and forth.

(^_^)

To be fair, we can always get a simple wand of CLW and be done with it, so play the class and character that you want to play and leave it at that.

But...there's jus' sooo many choices......
