EltonJ's World of Greyhawk (Inactive)

Game Master EltonJ

Welcome to the World of Greyhawk, a world of low fantasy and fantastic magic. Where danger and adventure abound and awaits the foolhardy, the strong, and the brave.

Beyond the free city of Greyhawk lies the empire of Iuz, Nyrond, Yeomanry, and many other kingdoms, duchies, and counties (including the two separate territories of Urnst). Besides, it's the home of Vecna the undying, one of D&D's most beloved vile villains.

Raising an eyebrow -sans hair- Zahk'rii meditates for a second as he tidies his clothes and hat once again "By the salt in me blood, yer a cunning lady, Bitterleaf! Hahahahah! I will try to speak the little scallywags into behaving, but if ye hear plenty o' screaming ya better hurry or I will have all the action for meself alone!"

The dragonborn sheathes his sword and draws a bottle instead, sipping on it as he does so "Absinthe, the grean booze jewell! Perfect for parley!" says Zahk, mostly to himself, as he is headed through the right tunnel.

She added with an almost trademark scowl by this point.

Lia sighs and draws her scimitar in anticipation of violence. "...let's make this quick, if we can."

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Going down the tunnel wasn't easy. But one could manage. You find three kobolds hanging out with two gnolls. The kobolds were discussing the cows with the gnolls.

The dragonborn measures the situation for a split second. Gnolls? That's strange, and surely could tip the balance towards violence real fast.

But Zahk wasn't one to shy away from a potentially amusing situation and as such, the dragonborn stepped forward, shield in one hand and bottle of absinthe in the other.

"Ahoy me hearties!" he exclaimed, waving the bottle for the gnolls and kobolds to see "Me name's Zhak'rii and I come to parlay bout the cows with ye all."

The dragonborn takes a step forward, but keeps his distance waiting for them to react "The humans that own them are handsomely angry that ye took a bunch of them away, but I humbly thing ye, me and the longshanks can reach an agreement, so how about ye sit with me around this tasty bottle and we talk."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

They do sit down and talk. One of them says, "What about the cows?"

The talk was in draconic.

Crap, Zahk, we didn't expect them to actually accept to talk... think fast.

Zahk indeed sits, gives a long hit off the bottle and offers the gnolls and kobolds "Ye fancy a taste?"

Good, now talk.

After leaving the bottle in front of him so anyone can reach for it, the dragonborn adjusts his hat and clears his throath "Ye see, lads and lasses, the owners of the cows don't want them swiped from them and have gone so far as to recruit strong men like me, humble servant of the coin, to return them and deal with the threat. And they be offering a handsome pay for the job, ye can bet yer asses to it. Hahahaha!"

"But I know how t'spot a kobold track when I see it, them little scaly cousins of me have scaly little feets like me Hahahahahaha!" after laughing Zahk leans forwards and shows a fanged smile "Thing is, I said to meself: 'Zahk, if only because ye are a good hearted man and feel kind today... why not give them the chance to bugger off and leave the cows alone?" his voice turning progressively less friendly, Zahk continues "If they know better ye won't have to turn a friendly chit-chat into a bloodshed. They get them lives and ye keep the prize.' Errybody wins... And in truth, me friends, that's the best deal ye will get... second best being: We will spare those that move outta our way while we sort thrugh the scallywags that disagree on the terms, dead gnolls tell no tales."

Female Grey Elf Rogue 1

Creeping forward doing her best to stay in the shadows and out of direct sight of the gnolls and kobolds she tried to close. Frowning when Zahk'rii spoke in common. She was afraid that might get their .... hackles up. She hoped to hear their replies, even if they were in draconic, after all she had picked up the nuances of that language long ago.

Thank you RNG for taking Zahk as a joke. No wonder why he doesn't trust his own skills. Also reference was because Zahk doesn't like gnolls and he rather deal with them and offer the kobolds a chance to scurry away like the little buggers they are.

The kobolds shiver a little, but the gnolls where unimpressed, as they growled at the prospect of paying for thee cows. The gnolls answer in accented, growling, common. "We don't agree with you, the cows were ours, fair and square."

I'm not really sure how far back I am, and I am wearing medium armor which does slow me a bit, so I'll assume I can't quite get in and smash away just yet (I'd have to be no further than 10 ft away) - I'll content myself with getting there.

Following closely on the lob of the bomb and its loud report, Baldwin jogs forward into the chamber. As the bestial gnolls come into view, he understands Zahk's references to dead gnolls telling no tales. While they are still reeling from the bomb, Baldwin gets into a good position to smash one of the gnolls with his mace.

Move Action: Move into position to see the room's occupants
Standard Action: Use evil eye hex on biggest gnoll

Lia almost casually walks up to the entrance to the room and glares at the biggest-looking gnoll in the room. Such was the way of properly channeling her doubt-sewing hex.

Target takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls for 7 rounds unless he makes a DC 15 Will Save, in which case it's reduced to 1 round.

alright. Everyone should be in the cavern. The cavern is large enough to hold 100 people snugly. The gnolls are near the end of the cavern tied up with tangling vines. The kobolds are near to the end by the gnolls.

Zahk is attacking the gnolls with his sabre. The rest of you are in the cavern. Briena just cast entangle against one of the gnolls and now he and his companion are entangled. Malayvin Ai Illiurda is advancing on the kobolds, and just attacked one. The cavern is a limestone cavern.
