Attribute rolls go!

2d10 ⇒ (9, 1) = 10+3=13
2d10 ⇒ (8, 5) = 13+2=15
2d10 ⇒ (7, 5) = 12+2=14
2d10 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7+3=10
2d10 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5+5=10

So I'm thinking this:

Strength: 10
Coordination: 15
Observation:14
Stature: 5
Luck: 7

62 attribute points = 8 skills

Engineering 2d10 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7+3=10
Navigation 2d10 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7+3=10
Physics 2d10 ⇒ (9, 4) = 13+2=15
Pilot 2d10 ⇒ (7, 8) = 15+1=16
Pistols 2d10 ⇒ (2, 9) = 11+2=13
Rifles 2d10 ⇒ (4, 10) = 14+2=16
Smithing 2d10 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9+3=12
Tactics 2d10 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9+3=12

Ugh. Add that up for 85. Average on 8d10 is 84. My character is looking so average it's painful. That's cool.

I'm thinking the Machine Whisperer trait. I'll get the rest of it soon. I have a specific character idea going on in my head.

Edit: Scratch that.

Let me know if any of these don't fly.

Lore: Galactography 2d10 ⇒ (2, 8) = 10+3=13
Lore: Mechanics 2d10 ⇒ (8, 10) = 18+0=18
Lore: Law 2d10 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12+2=14
Lore: Science 2d10 ⇒ (10, 5) = 15+1=16

There we go.

Scaffold Kane, keep in mind that you don't roll for Weapons Skills like Pistols and Rifles, so ignore those rolls. And don't worry too much about fairly average skills. As for your Lore choices, a lot of them seem more like they'd fall under your General Skills. Lore would be more along the lines of Confederacy of Core Worlds Legal Practices or Starship Industry Frontrunners, rather than Law or Science. Galactography would need to be focused a little to have knowledge of a sector of planets or space.

Alright. I'm thinking about being a space pirate engineer and pilot. That was my initial idea, anywho.

Ignoring pistols and rifles. Good to know.

Change Galactography to the sector of stars including the Sol system (if applicable). Unless there are alien races. Then I'll go from there.

The two you mentioned are fine replacements for Mechanics and Law.

By Lore: Science, I meant the history of science and the names of notable scientists and what they're known for. That sort of thing. Is that an appropriate lore?

You can keep the Sol system if you like, although I'll warn you that the game takes place a long way away from there. Not that the skill would never be useful--it very well could, and in fact I'm going to try to work in all the characters' Lore Skills at some point or other in the game, but another sector--say the Frontier?--would be more generally useful.

The legal practice one should probably be focused on wherever your character is from, and could itself include the Frontier, which would alert you more to famous bounty hunters and the current state of trade and crime rather than more formal legal functions.

Your Science Lore sounds fine to me now that you've explained it. Just get me some character info and world-building details and you'll be good to go. In the meanwhile, feel free to pop into Discussion.

I'm assuming this is now defunct.

seems like

Liberty's Edge

;_;

Hmm... let me text Loup, see what's up. At the very least, I can give us all some idea of if its closed down for not. I'm going to GUESS he's gotten busy again. We both move in to our dorms on the 26th, so he may have to wait until then?

I'll let you guys know.

No, this is still here, and I've been checking intermittently. I've been busy, but I've also been waiting for folks to get ready in Discussion. I'm only seeing a few people with Lore skills rolled, descriptions ready, profiles updated, and so on. I'll admit I've also been less than great at getting things ready and around for this game, partly because of being busy with other things. But I'd like to make sure we have more than a couple folks actually ready to play when I open the game.

If people need, I can go through each potential player and post what they still need to do in Discussion, but being that I'm hoping for this game to become more and more player-driven as time goes on, I don't think it's all that awful to ask that you self-monitor and get together what I'm asking for. Updated profiles are the basic must-have, at the least--I'll need to be able to quickly check your characters' statistics during the game for various things, and it's the most basic of preparation for actually playing.

The last post I saw said Gray was ready. However, apparently we've added something new in discussion. I missed that, as I thought it was saying you had the option of Lore skills, not that you had lore skills.

Lore: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
Lore: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 10) = 18
Lore: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 8) = 12

Lore (Starship Components) 18
Lore (Miltron Shipping Corporation Procedures) 12
Lore (Pirates) 8

I am pretty sure I am done.

Dark Archive

Stats: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 6) = 14
Stats: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 10) = 12
Stats: 2d10 ⇒ (5, 7) = 12
Stats: 2d10 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
Stats: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 9) = 17

Dark Archive

Hmmm,, I kind of want to go for a coordinated knife wielder. Who likes to get real close and personal.

Dark Archive

Ok so I was thinking,
Strength: 14
Coordination: 18
Observation: 16
Stature: 7
Luck: 5

Dark Archive

Is it not wise to focus on blades to the exception of all else, or should I add in a pistol skill too.

Going without any sort of ranged weapon skill can result in you having some troubles if you get in a firefight, since you won't have quite as high a chance to hit (especially in close-range shootouts where hipshots and steady shots see a lot of use), and you won't start the game with a gun. That said, it's not the end of the world. This game isn't meant to be necessarily combat heavy, since Boot Hill sees a lot of folks dying quick once guns come out.

@Kane: Looks like you rolled your Lore skills in Discussion, but they aren't actually in your profile yet. Other than that looks like you're ready though, so just drop those over and you're good!

@Gray: Yep, I added Lore skills as something everyone gets for free, so all the characters can have some knowledge of their 'verse without needing to lose their more applicable skills.
