[b]Surprise Round![/OOC]
Exiel, Corwin, Small white furry thing. No one else acts in Surprise Round. Please see the Map of the Monestary..

Akinra: I can't edit the map. Do you need to change a setting of some sort?

Exiel will avert his eyes from the creature, take a 5ft step East, and ready an action to cast burning hands if the creature comes within range.

Corwin, hold up. I'll burn him once he gets close, and then you charge in.

I suggest you ready an action to charge after my burning hands spell. If he does not get in range in the surprise round, we can re-discuss tactics.

Sczarni

World Wound--Disappeared --Confirmation

Earlier, when I had the map editable, so many moves happened, I couldn't CTRL Z to undo them all to figure out what was happening. It is deliberate now. Just say where you move to, and what you do, and I will move the map around.

The beast moves forward slowly, possibly also fatigued? The creature stops just short of coming into full view.

@ CorwinYep ]Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Exiel Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

The scent of singed yeti fur and burning wood assaults your nostrils, though it appears the beast avoided the worst of it.

The crazed beast tears into the man who willingly stepped in front of him.
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + (6) + 2 = 10 1d6 is Cold damage

Err...Ralph, the fighter's on 1hp!

Akinra, you may want to update the map. Both Ralph and Ash moved.

Exiel moves to the South-East of the Corwin and attempts once more to burn the creature.

averting eyes: 1d100 ⇒ 47

will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

burning hands: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 3) + 4 = 16

Dammit this is what happens when I post from work... I don't think the yeti will KILL him this turn, and I will heal him next turn!

Akinra, was that will save mine? I forgot about it. Also, Ash will need one. Since we both have the same will save bonus, here's the roll for the other person.

will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Corwin's up, then Yeti, it seems. Hmm...much as I hate to say it, best option at this point may be to full defence whilst Exiel and Ash try to shoot it to death, since you have the best AC and it is focused on you- it needs to roll a 17+ to hit you if you do that, which is a reasonably low chance. I will heal you next turn so you're not going to die.

Alternative is to risk swinging at it, and hope it is on low enough on hp for you to kill it...

grumbles about yeti's and their attacks. I think defensive fighting is the best option here, I don't think +2 ac is worth a chance of knocking it out, closing my eyes will just grant it too many bonuses to its attack as well... Here goes.

oww!

Fighting defensive, i make a swing...

Same checks as before.

avert eyes: 1d100 ⇒ 81

if failed

will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

if successfully averting eyes
concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 40
attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10
damage: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Was going to take a 5ft step back, however last thing we need is a coup de grace on exiel, same thing with total defense, if i'm not threatening, yeti can just go up and kill him.

I was referring to Exiel also having cold resistance.

Also, I took over for seconding Ash from Kyra, and I acted on Ash's behalf. Please let us know whether he hit. It is the yeti's turn now, Akinra.

Sczarni

World Wound--Disappeared --Confirmation

Ash's bullet grazes the yeti, leaving a scarlet streak along its arm as the beast once again tears into the fighter.

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

The yeti's wounded state coupled prevents his attacks from penetrating the fighter's armor.

Everyone shoot and run, if this thing is tired it might be best to have it run around!

If this this is fatigued like it appears, it can't charge. Might be best cast spells / shoot and move back so it can't hit us

I close my eyes using the withdraw action, 5ft southwest, then and additional 35ft west.

Now that Corwin has withdrawn, Ash and I no longer suffer penalties for firing into melee. Might as well take a shot first.

Ralph:

damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Ash:
Attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
damage: 1d8 + 1d8 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + (2) + (5) = 11

Edit again: Forgot to make our will saves
Ralph: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Ash: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Edit yet again: Ok, so I probably failed my will save, but if that crit confirmed, we're solid!

Unfortunately you never took the fatigue penalty for Ash (you as well?). only +4 to hit i think due to -2 dex penalty.

I believe he's been using a thrush all this time. He chose it over a hawk because thrushes can actually talk.

If it seems that there's no one in that room, Ralph opens the door and takes a look inside. Assuming there's no hostile creature inside, Ralph and Ash will go inside and do a search inside

I'll go with Ralph. If we find nothing of interest, I go over to the door from F1 to F2 to listen, taking 20 for 27 total on perception.

Meanwhile I instruct my thrush to station himself on the far wall of F6 and call out (fly over the ceiling to F1 chirping loudly) if anything comes out from F3 or F4, or if he spots something he missed in F6 (I presume my thrush would have explained to me the layout of F6, so I can give him those instructions).

So in summary (for Akinra's benefit):

1. The party searches F5 whilst Exiel's Thrush watches F6, especially the doors to F3 and F4, with instructions to warn the party if anything happens.

2.If there's nothing to fight in F5, Ralph and Ash score 20 and 23 on their perception to search F5.

3. If there was nothing to fight in F5, the party goes to F2 and listens at the door, taking 20 (scoring 27 through Ash and Cor).

4. If we detect nothing, the party enters and searches F2 as well. I suppose since Cor is looking for something, we'll take the time to take 20, for a score of 27.

3. Cast Silent image behind the door, creating images of 4 stone elementals directly behind the door.

Also, he calls out to Ralph:

Another one, and it's bigger, coming towards us out the door. Get ready!

Ralph, go for the 10ft square just North of you. We'll start our plan from there. Better yet, if you can, move back, then ready an action to cast it just as the beastie steps out.
