The ledge is really limiting my options here...ready action to acid splash first creature that comes into view and does NOT have cover or concealment from me.
I feel a similar limitation...I will do likewise, with my acid dart school ability. I don't think I'll need to use grease or my bonded item spell just yet. Kyra, you might want to 5ft step North-East to give us more room to engage the creature. At the moment, I think even Cor who is beside you has partial cover between himself and the creature.
Edit: I don't think, from the map, Ash can acutally see the beastie. Even if he can, he'll be copping partial cover penalties.
Exiel

We're waiting on Cor? Hope him or his brother chimes in soon. Once he posts, it'll roll back to Kyra, then strange creature. More than half-rotted, stinky and does not bleed...and able to charge. It's like the wheatfields near Sandpoint all over again...

This all started after 1am EST, i was asleep :/ What time zone are the rest of you in?
Ponders the situation, not a ton i can do here. Might be best to hack it apart.
I don't think this is living, think it can be turned?
take a 5ft over step and hack at it
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

The narrowness of the rocky pass make it all but impossible for Corwin to get his footing for a strong swing, and his blow flies wildly high as a result.
End of round. Take actions now, or they disappear when Kyra acts.
Ralph Cauthorn

Ralph moves up beside Corwin and uses acid dart.
attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 11
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Edit: Hmm, that's not going to hit.
Exiel's not acting this turn, but is going to try to do something crazy next turn (declared in discussion). So I guess Kyra's up, then monster. Exiel, if you die from doing taking that action, I'm not responsible. =(

Ralph's acid arrow misses, spitting and sizzling in the pile of bones behind the evil man.
End Round 1, Begin Round 2

"Do you owe this guy Money Cor?"
Kyra fights Defensively.
Like in the movie Armmogeddon before Bruce Willis detonates the bomb, Kyra's life flashes in front of her eyes... Swiping down for All she is worth, This is Sparta!!!!!!-style...
"I'm sick of All these Ghouls on this plane!!!...Cor will you marry me?"
Kyra Is a Hero! Suckas Betta Recognize: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 171d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5-2 for helping Cor not run by example!

assuming baddie stays put and to speed things along... (reserve the right to change action ;)
attack defensively myself. them moving through Kyra ten feet to the right, provoking an aoo. putting my AC to 20
attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
damage: 1d12 ⇒ 10
move 10 to the right
Ralph Cauthorn
|
Corwin's comments on Kyra's attack bonus look right. She should be at a -1 to hit, so based on that roll, she scores a 15 to hit.
Corwin, 10ft to the right puts you over the cliff, so I assume you mean North-West, rather than jumping down the cliff?
Assuming the ghoul is still alive, Ralph will attempt to save Exiel a spell by flinging another acid dart around the corner.
attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 8
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Ralph Cauthorn

Ok, since that probably did nothing at all, Exiel proceeds to violate the cardinal rule of a arcane caster not built for combat by walking into melee range of the smelly monster, and unloads a burst of blistering flames right into its face.
burning hands: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 2) + 4 = 12, DC 16 ref save for half
I will however hold off moving characters on the map until Akinra has had a chance to move the monster
Akinra
|
Kyra's blade slices deep into the poor creature while a gout of flame erupts from Exiel's hands, charring what is left of the man to the bones. The haggard beast collapses in a cloud, stinking of burned hair and charred rotten meat. In the cave ahead, you hear the shuffling footsteps of perhaps another. . .
With or without a save, he is negative
Corwin Illum

Noting your map comments, I'll change my move slightly (again, maybe changes based on ghoul, hah), I'll head west, positioning between where Exiel and Ralph are now. Possibly forcing the ghoul to come out where it can be flanked and the casters behind me if Kyra wants to 5 foot step backwards.

Nooooo Cor!!!!Let Ash go first!!!
Str +2 F-Defensively -2
Masterwork Weapons
A masterwork weapon is a finely crafted version of a
normal weapon. Wielding it provides a +1 enhancement
bonus on attack rolls.
NOTING THE EARLIER DC 13 RELIGION CHECK-This is Wisdom "I know what I don't know, but I know this..."
Remember the Alamo(The name of the brothel where we both grew up?) "GHOUL-ELF-COOL- ZOMBIE SLASH/SKELLY BASH!"-(Kyra just noticed Ash's ears are slightly pointy)..."I've seen bigger but..." I'll go second and heal him, every one else step back as far as you can- with readied actions like Dancing Lights--X uses the (D. Sanchez Manuever-if he so chooses trying to earn his bid for Glory and pay increases).
Ralph Cauthorn
|
I think we should just move on from where Exiel burns the ghoul to a cinder. Exiel executes the Sanchez Protocol, but goes direct to phase 2: flying dancing lights near the ceiling, bird in dancing lights making perception check. Kyra tags bird with guidance, bird takes 10 on perception, so we're looking at a perception check of 20. Bird goes in near ceiling, comes back 1 minute later to report.
Akinra, what does the bird report?

This tunnel is tiny, besides i don't want anything escaping... We should just go in. Before the whole one minute thing
Corwin just Looks down to the end (he can see the end) what does he notice. 6 second check rather then 1 minute scout. If needed the thrush can scout ahead while me move on and shout a warning
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

"We really need you to be an Elf right now Ash-Good Luck with that!!!- No Half-Stepping" Cor says "Your too chicken to go first ..(Bok Bok..No...)(I don't care if Cor is......Cor- I'm looting your body just so you know, I'm taking your cloak and your potion dude- Dibs on the Cor-killing Ghoul's tounge...Watch your parent's faces when I tell them this story at your farm")

Special Attacks paralysis (1d4+1 rounds, DC 13, elves are
immune to this effect)
Humans get an extra feat, Aasimirs are broken, but I guess not having Darkvision makes it balanced? Having a mix like we do is the best way to party. We golfbag situational wins like my everyone has a long spear idea.

Another ghoul is about 10' down the tunnel, coming right at you! Lucky for you, the tunnel is a tight squeeze, so it seems to be slowing him down...

Kyra casts protection from evil on Ash.
Protection from Evil
School abjuration [good]; Level cleric 1, paladin 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF
Range touch
Target creature touched
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance no; see text
This spell wards a creature from attacks by evil creatures, from
mental control, and from summoned creatures.
The subject, Ash, gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2
resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks
made or effects created by evil creatures.

Hold your horses, boys, we may need to roll initiative for this new threat first.
Also, I think you need to have a dex PENALTY to have a touch AC of 8 or lower.
Exiel's initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Ralph's initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Ralph Cauthorn
|
I already rolled initiative for Exiel and myself.
You can roll for Ash, and GM can roll for Cor if he chimes in before Cor does? I think you will need to control Ash anyway, since it appears he will be gone for awhile.
The Priest
|
Does Ash want to declare his reroll, or are we good Ralph? Ash has 13Hps as a new player his gun might jam but +5 with its AC lowered- now would be the time, but I don't want to be rude. A reroll is for special occasions. I think he has this straight up.
Exiel
|
Huh, was hoping we'd have gotten further than this, but at least I didn't miss much. XD
I wanna burn moar stuff!
Corwin Illum

My interpretation was it was our move, that the ghoul just moved (its turn), I looked in and saw it coming (our turn)
I too was concerned about metagaming a bit, Kyra did make a religion roll... nothing was said. Once the GM actually named it a ghoul, figured we knew what it was and good to go. Now just waiting for results.

Sorry, I am at a CLE today and tomorrow, posting time is highly limited.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Order = Monster, everyone.
The beast charges the closest enemy, trying to push them off the cliff!
CMB: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 and nearly loses his footing and falls off the cliff himself!
Exiel
|
My suggestion, Ash take a shot/swing if he wants (or just withdraw to avoid an AoO), then pull back, I'll move to the East/Right of Cor and unload a blast of burning hands, then Cor moves in to swing. Hopefully we can take it out in 1 round.
Ralph Cauthorn
|
Better yet, Kyra cast guidance on Ash, then moves North-East, Ash 5ft step to where Kyra was then shoots without taking an AoO, then Exiel burns, and Cor finishes with a swing with the sword.
Either way, Kyra, if you are controlling Ash, do you want to coordinate the shuffle so Exiel can get the blast in?
