Making confirmation on this, Azruk is going down the hall or the tunnel in the room?
Also i am going to assume someone takes a look further at the cages with the chests. The cages has two odd slots side by side each the same size and fairly long. The locking mechanism looks incredibly complicated and even after all this time still in amazing condition it'd be very difficult to break without the keys.

Azruk-Hal |

Oh, whoops. I was unclear on what was what.
Azruk stops before leaving the immediate area.
On second thought, who has those toothpicks? I mean daggers? Gut feeling tells me we need them for the chests.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria smirks at Bazo's antics. don't know how you could get brain freeze, I mean you are missing one of the ingredients.
she comments as she stands beside Azruk, checking out the chest as she loads another shot into her pistol.
So, we need those daggers huh?
don't recall who has them, but I know I do not.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria thinks for a bit, the she gets a spot of divine inspiration, Hey I found these daggers not too long ago, are these the ones you need? Azmaria pulls them out and shows them to Azruk.

Azruk-Hal |

Azruk will take one dagger, place it in the slot from one side, and someone else should do the same on the other side.
Here, get the other side, I don't want to get shot, or poisoned, or stabbed, or a weird combination of the above.
Perception for traps: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Daelendross Phaernemn |

The weak half-elf, coughs, looks sidewise, and nudges the paladin forward.
"Oh, seem to have slipped. Seems like you have another volunteer here!"
He grins sidewise at the wizard. Spellcasters know the hit point life energy struggle.

Sister Azmaria |

guess Azmaria was chosen?
Azmaria holsters her gun and gives the summoner a dirty look. she then will add her "steady" hand to insert the second dagger.
looking at the lack of anything happening, well? what now? have you guys tried to turn them, or try a different combo, maybe these aren't the dagger we are looking for?

![]() |

Victarion sees the process and then suggest "Let's, mh, try it a different way. Swap the daggers and do it again, if nothing happens try and do it at the same time." he gets close to inspect the mwchanism "If that doesn't work either, mh, I can try to pick it or see how it works, I guess."

Azruk-Hal |

Azruk will turn the device.
Is there a password too? Does Bazo need to dance again?

Azruk-Hal |

I have an idea. They have dog biscuits underground? Continuing the straight-faced routine.
Make him sing. Tell him how much you care about him. One skill of mine I'm less proud of is how well I can get under someones skin. I could go on, but I'll save it.
But I could.

Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |

"Tell me how you care about me ?! F**k that. I'll slit my own throat to be safe from you for a day if you try that. I think I'm gonna be sick thinking about that. "
Bazo starts making gagging sounds.
"Huuuagh...huuuuuaagh... oh, man...hhuhhghh...."

Azruk-Hal |

So... That's fantastic. All of a sudden I don't feel like I'm wasting my time anymore. Azruk starts to shovel an even share into his bag. Whether he's talking about Bazo's new ninja level he took, or the haul of rare minerals, nobody knows.
Would the lady or delicate men like help with their share? I'm not gonna pocket any. I just... like to hold them sometimes.
Edit: Wait, how'd I miss Azmaria's burn earlier? Good one.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria was happy enough to assist the little that she did. but her mind wandered as she imagined the devil dog dancing. trying to hold back a smile of satisfaction.
I never really thought of demons and devils as so entertaining
snapping back to the situation, I am sure a few gold sent to the the holy order would do well in funding the crusaders.
why are all the PC's listed as NPC's? I keep having to scroll through the aliases to find the right one instead of having Azmaria as the default.
Azmaria takes a few of the gems (total value of 200 gold)

Daelendross Phaernemn |

"I have a backpack, but I'm not terribly strong. Bazo is a quadraped, so he can carry a good amount, but if should he receive enough damage or be banished some other way, anything he is carrying may depart with him until I can summon him again when he will return with all of it having not lost, given away, forgotten, or otherwise parted with it in any way that may possibly result in us losing so much as a copper piece worth of gear, am I clear?"
The demon groans and mutters.
Even split 200gp seems fair. Agreed.

Azruk-Hal |

Azruk will proceed, climbing over the barricade, taking ten for success.
Alright. So who made this? They might still be here.

Azruk-Hal |

If they aren't already hostile, maybe Bazo wouldn't make the best first impression.

Daelendross Phaernemn |

"Yes, well, a pile of dead kobolds a floor up says I'd rather keep the expendable demon scouting ahead of me. You're welcome to walk ahead of him yourself as an ambassador, if you want."

Azruk-Hal |

Sure, whatever you want. I didn't realize killing kobolds was such a high bar to consider. Lead on trap dog.

Daelendross Phaernemn |

"Kobolds are crafty bastards. Individuals are weak, but groups, especially when in their homes, can be nasty...my people have legends of a tribe known as Tuckers...horrible stories."
Couldn't resist.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria will bring up the rear climbing over the barricade. I am pretty sure that what or who made this is probably not super friendly. Still I suggest that we give them the benefit of the doubt first, just in case.

![]() |

Victarion takes his time choosing ten to pass the barricade "Tucker's Kobolds? I've read about them. A vicious pack, and well organised to boot. Let's hope the ones around aren't any simmilar."

Azruk-Hal |

Right. And these kobolds were defending their own home turf, not infesting a tower that fell. I don' tthink they have that kind of prep time.
Always fun hearing about these guys.

GM_IamZero000 |

As the Barricade is crossed you all hear a clicking and without so much as a hint Stalagmites break from the ceiling swinging across the long tunnel like pendulums.
The swinging spikes narrowly miss everyone except Dael and Victarion both of whom are hit quite hard. The Spikes stop swinging after a few moments having lost momentum.
You both take 6 points of damage
Stalagmites Bazo: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Stalagmites Azruk: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Stalagmites Dael: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Stalagmites Azmaria: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Stalagmites Victarion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Feel free to continue talking, comment on what just happened ectera. i'm just going to post the next room flavor textfor when you guys are ready to get to it
This large cave appears to have been recently scratched from the hard-packed earth, and its ceiling is only five feet high. Several tons of debris fill the western portion of the cave.
You all also see the body of an Elven man partially buried underneath rubble, his hair white and skin black like obsidian, something seems off about it however.
Don't know if I've mentioned this to anyone but i use the heal skill as a sort of knowledge medical skill as well to give it more use
You can tell the body isn't real or even remotely humanoid you also notice there is no blood anywhere on the body despite the damage it clearly took
You can tell the body is made of powerful shadow magic, either way this isn't a real body it appears to be a magical avatar or at least was before it died.
upon further examination of the area you figure out that the collapse was definitely engineered it did not happen naturally

Standing up from under the stones, Victarion tends his hand to Dael and says "The eternal struggle of those gifted with reality warping powers... falling for every trap. Ever." he is visibly wounded and has a hard time even speaking. "If any of you is capable of healing wounds, I'd appreciate it."
_____ Next Room
Knowledge Arcane: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Knowledge Engineering: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
I'll wait untill we move to the room to speak of the strange Shadow puppet corpse and the homemade cave in

Azruk-Hal |

Hah. Wait, you're actually very injured aren't you? Eh, Azmaria? Dae- godsdammit Dael, you too? Azruk observes his injured travel buddies, turning to try to get a read on the next room.
Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Daelendross Phaernemn |

Daelendross coughs up a mouthful of blood and slowly slides the chunks of stone from him. "Was it the stone spike imbedded in my chest that gave it away, Azruk?"
He stares at the figure.
"Well, that's a drow. I don't know much, but pointy ears, black skin, white hair...that's one of mom's people. You know, only...dead."
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
Know Planes: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
"Yep. Definitely a drow."
You don't need to know magical stuff to USE magical stuff. Me is da smartest!

Azruk-Hal |

Well, you're still awake enough to sass me, so walk it off ya blueberry. Want me to go poke it? The room I mean.
Azruk gives the cave-in a look over from the doorway.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Sister Azmaria |

sorry no healing till level 2 from Azmaria
heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Sister Azmaria |

sorry no healing till level 2 from Azmaria
heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Azmaria does her best to help the injured but she has no command of healing magic.
She then checks out the swinging spike, most likely a trap, but I wonder who set this trap?
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16

![]() |

"You are right and wrong, Dael. It looks like a drow." Victarion pokes it with his stafd "But see, it's only semi-solid. This corpse was made with shadow magic. Powerful one, at that." he crouches with a growl of pain "That's why I know this is an avatar of sorts, or it was before someone purposedly provocked a cave in to kill it."

GM_IamZero000 |

You guys are nearing the end of this dungeon btw
Azmaria notices two now dead kobolds bodies in the tunnel continuing forward each is clutching a spade and pickax respectively
In the far edge of the room a tunnel continues rapidly descending, overlooking a room a three Kobolds speak among each other nervously. each sitting on furs laid out like nests. Two males and a female, all green scaled, one has short bow in noticeably nice quality
Sesserak what do we do? The tower fell and Archae lies dead. Chief will be angry we attracted so much attention.
I don't know, i need to come up with a plan. maybe we can trick the white scaled one take treasures from the dead mage's home The three continue to chatter trying to come up with a plan.

Azruk-Hal |

Azruk whispers to the others holding his hand out for the others to wait.
You two. The injured ones. Stay here. We should hear what they're saying. He'll try to do so.
Assuming I need a new perception roll.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
