Vicarion loses his footing, taking a tumble into the greenish liquid landing in it feels like swimming through pudding. Getting up he feels the liquid sting his flesh.
Take 1 point of acid damage and yeah a strength and or climb check to either pull him out or him to climb out
Victarion Gauss |
Climb Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
As he plummets to the pool Victarion thinks that life have curious ways of teaching you "Ouch! I didn't think adventuring was this itchy!" says Victarion as he tries to climb to the "bridge" again.
Sister Azmaria |
OK caught up, and again I apologize, sometimes when you work 15 hours you just want to sleep. I try to get some posts in but sometimes I do not.
Azmaria follows along. she is trying to avoid the demon dog as much as she can. it takes some effort to keep from shooting it after all.
at the bridge, the newcomer falls in, ans fast as she can, Azmaria tries to reach out a hand to help him up out of the goo.
climb assist: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Azruk-Hal |
Azruk'll tie the rope to the other side.
What did I tell you?! Do you want to get melted? Because that's how you get melted. He bellows at the flighty wizard.
Sister Azmaria |
Once free of the goo, azmaria gets up and secures the rope on her side (she has not crossed over yet)
signalling back that everything is secure.
Victarion Gauss |
"Relax, my scaly skinned new friend! By my calculations I would have needed thirty-six additional seconds to have fainted and consequently disolved, time more than enough to solve the problem." he cleans himself of the goo "But I must concede that it was a bold move, we should follow Dael's plan and tie us."
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"Actually, my plan was to run someone to the other side with the rope and use it as a hand-guide to give us additional support when crossing, but...since we've already crossed...I really would rather not us all be tied together like some kind of adventurer-chain, where when Azruk wants to charge something and rip it apart you and I are pulled along for the ride. I prefer to keep a safe distance from my enemies and let magic and demon slay them."
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
"You big blue pussy. Can we move on? LET'S GO ALREAAADY!"
Azruk-Hal |
Yeah, I was expecting there to be more to this room. Azruk mentions while tossing the rope back.
Are you assuming I'm going to charge into our enemies just because I have a sword?
Azruk-Hal |
Look, I get that it couldn't injure me. Unfortunately, I care about intent. The Imp struck first. I struck harder. Do you really think it was going to help us out of the kindness of its heart?
Azruk moves down the hallway behind Bazo assuming he goes first.
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Bazo indeed takes point (and you can assume that in the future unless otherwise stated)
Dael shrugs and motions his head over to Bazo.
"Out of the kindness of their heart isn't the way to get fiends to help you, but it doesn't mean they won't. Bazo - sing a song. One that would embarrass you if you had any feelings of shame. Something about the color pink. Now!"
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
The demon is visibly twitching trying not to sing the song as he putzes along.
"Grrrr....Um...I....love pink...it's...pretty...and fluffy......F*** you Daelandross! F** YOU SO MUCH! AND I....WOULD DANCE IN THE RAIN...IF THE RAIN WERE ONLY PINK!!! I WILL DEVOUR YOUR SOUL...BECAUSE YOUR SOUL IS PINK AND PRETTY!!! GODS MOTHERF***ING D*** SON OF A *** ** *****"
If you speak Abyssal, you recognize words of profanity that just don't properly translate to Common.
Azruk-Hal |
Holy s&&!, they do get cruel underground don't they? Azruk responds with a smile.
Although at least this ones under an obligation not to attack you in your sleep. For some reason, I expect fiends to try to stab us in the back when they get the chance. You know, like goblins.
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"Mother always said goblins just need a good beating when they're happy and a good meal when they're sad and they're almost as reliable out of chains as in. She also said my father was a boring diversion and watching the driders tear him to pieces was more entertaining than my conception, though, so her perspective is a little skewed."
Azruk-Hal |
So who did that key go to? Ciaran had the only key we've received so far if I remember right.
Victarion Gauss |
Yes, a crafty wizard indeed. And Paizo ate my post! Yay! I'll repeat it
As the other stare dumbfounded at the door Victarion rolls up his sleeves... "My trusty companions, rest assured that I can indeed open this sturdy door! Allow me first to check if there happens to be a trap. Such temporary distractions are indeed a nuisance."
Perception to check for traps: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Disable Device to open the lock: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Azruk-Hal |
Good, that's helpful. As a back-up, I still have "lockpicking" too. I call it sunder though.
Victarion Gauss |
My backup is a Ray of Frost. 1d4+2 isn't as much as a barbarian lockpick, but ey! It's magic so we can lockpick from a distance.
Sister Azmaria |
Azmaria Makes sure everyone is safe crossing the Goo before bringing up the rear.
I know we are past that point but I figured I should do something.
Other than that, with little she can offer at the moment she simply bides her time. she does get a chuckle at the song though, but she still does resist urge to pat the demon dog on the head in gratitude.
Azruk-Hal |
"The good Baron Sarvo Wills It?" Azruk keeps his blade in hand.
I'm waiting for my prize...
Victarion Gauss |
"I guess we have nothing to lose here so... The good Baron Sarvo Wills It!" says Victarion, exaggerating his movement as if he was a petty and important noble.
Sister Azmaria |
"I guess we have nothing to lose here so... The good Baron Sarvo Wills It!" says Victarion, exaggerating his movement as if he was a petty and important noble.
He does that as though he is experienced at being a petty and important noble Azmaria whispers.
GM_IamZero000 |
The voice booms Pass phrase accepted please proceed. A door on the other end of the room swings open quickly.
For sake of speed i'll post the next room as well
You all wander into the next room, it's small and similar to the last one with one exception a small thing made of gears and metal blocks the hallway, in a odd robotic voice please present Canteclure family crest for passage
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Daelendross tries the paper in the chest, thinking maybe that's the crest.
Bazo presents his "family crest" by turning around and lifting his tail.
"Aaahgh, Bazo, what the hell! Nobody wants to see your abyssal starfish!"
The demon's grin is ridiculous.
Azruk-Hal |
You know, if I kill it, it can't bother us for the rest of the day? Azruk asks straight-faced. He retrieves the bronze plaque as his attempt at an answer.
Besides, I thought you didn't like fighting? Isn't a little guess-work a decent change of pace?
Sister Azmaria |
You know, if I kill it, it can't bother us for the rest of the day? Azruk asks straight-faced. He retrieves the bronze plaque as his attempt at an answer.
I kinda like that idea Azmaria agrees with a grin and a locked and loaded pistol.
GM_IamZero000 |
with the presentation of the bronze plaque the machine moves aside allowing you all to proceed. Moving along down the long hallway, you eventually come to a larger room than the one's prior there is a tunnel dug in the north western wall. In the room near the door is a small enclosure filled with chests blocked off by think black metal bars.
Perception checks please
GM_IamZero000 |
You immediately spot hiding in tunnel entrance a naked humanoid creature with long limbs and pale flesh a long tongue licks it's as it is now stalking the demonic dog.
EDIT: Apologies meant to post this with this post originally but my younger sister hijacked the computer on me. Anyone who fails the perception checks starts a round later having not seen the attacker
initiative Victarion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Initiative Azmaria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
initiative Dael: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
initiative Bazo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
initiative Azruk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Victarion Gauss |
GM, you mistook my Perception and Initiative. It's Init +8
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
"Oh, chests behind bars! I wonder what did they hide in there..."
Azruk-Hal |
Edit: Forgot perception roll, oops.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He keeps walking ahead like that, he's gonna get pasted. And it'll be hysterical.
I'm assuming my Perception roll happens before Dael calls out to Bazogoobermon.
Sister Azmaria |
perc: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
A combination of sheer luck and Dael's warning Azmaria catches sight of the thing. of course letting it get a bite on the devil dog first really had crossed her mind. Still she had respect for its master and thus deserved at least a token effort of assistance.
Azmaria takes aim... I do believe that the blessings of the Inheritor are in order here.
and she fires a standard shot.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 (+1 if within 30 feet)
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1 (+1 if within 30 feet)
GM_IamZero000 |
Anyone who did not make perception starts combat 1 round late. Basically Dael and Azmaria made it so they begin combat now along with the monster. Azruk, Bazo and Victarion start after that.
The creature charges Bazo from out of the shadows , and attempts to take a bite out of his leg but Azmaria's and Daels shots blast in off course. It however swings around connecting a powerful bite into the Eidolons leg
Bazo takes 7 Damage and all Pc's are up. The creature took 3 points of damage from Azmaria's and Dael's attacks
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Attack R2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
damage R2: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Victarion Gauss |
I will roll knowledge to try and identify the thing. He has the same modifier for every Knowl. Skill
"Foul beast! Go back to the hell where you came from!" yells the wizard as he pulls out his Liquid Ice and begin the incantation of a spell... "Feel the chill of winter! Fear the coldness of the north!"
Knowledge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Ray of Frost Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Ray of Frost Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
RoF Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage if confirmed: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Total: 5. 8 if critical hit confirmed
GM_IamZero000 |
You know the creature instantly, it is a basic Ghoul
The ray hits freezing the creature to the point it shatters instantly leaving viscera and ice all over the ground and Bazo for that matter
With combat over you still have the tunnel in the northern corner of the room and the locked cell of chests to explore further.
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
Bazo snarls at the wizard. " DAMNITI was gonna eat that!"
He starts chomping down frozen chunks like a dog chewing on ice (which is hilarious if you've never seen). "AAAAARH BRAIN FREEZE!"
Victarion Gauss |
Victarion blows imaginary smoke from his finger and turns to Bazo with a clearly smug look "Don't whine, hell hound... you still can lick it before it melts." before stuffing the Liquid ice again. He then speaks to the group "It was a Ghoul, of the common variety to be thorough. A disgusting sight... and an interesting one. What was doing an undead here?"
Azruk-Hal |
Nice shootin' kids. 'Specially you new guy. Which is good. F*#+ing dammit, when am I gonna get to fight something?!
Azruk will continue on down the hallway, pretending he's perfectly content with waiting longer.
