The Judge looks at Dren and then over to Morsum.
Let us see whether they like his shadowy form.
The Judge looks at Morsum and nods. Morsum nods back at the Judge and then turns his glowing red eyes at Dren to whom he shows his blood colored teeth.
Not sure whether Morsum's Mage Armor is still in effect. It should have lasted an hour. If it has expired, I will use another charge of the wand to boost his AC back up.
The Judge then casts another spell on Morsum which causes a red shield to appear around Morsum before shimmering briefly and fading from sight.
Cast: Shield
Morsum looks at the circle and attempts to jump over the silver circle. He immediately then takes on a defensive posture.
Total Defense: AC29, T23
Effects: Mage Armor (+4), Shield(+4), Total Defense (+4), Natural Armor (+6), Dex(+1)
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 <-- to jump over the silver circle

DM, Did Jax's weapon deal any damage as well? With the arcane point it counts as magical and hit for 7 while the shocking grasp hit for 6. Also, down to 1 arcane point and 0 level spells. Luckily he can sacrifice Con for arcane points :D
Can we get a Know: Religion check from someone to point out the weaknesses of the shadow?
Round 3:
[acting on Initiative 14]
Jax smirks as the creatures rise up from the ground again. Oh they're not that intimidating.
The tiefling's tail lashes back and forth in time to his weapon and he slashes it back and forth across the first monster to rise from the ground. The light glitters along his blade and a blue light emanates from the shadow he strikes scrawling a picture of a grinning, horned demon on it.
[Weapon counts as a +1 weapon for the next minute]
Spell-Combat & Spellstrike Arcane Mark (-2 to attack add 2 if flanking with Morsum)
Arcane Mark spellstrike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Weapon attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damn, on a roll with those damage dice!

The Judge grimaces as he feels the shadowy creature drain his servant.
You will pay for that.
He then fires another crossbow bolt at the shadow.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Douglas Muir 406
Jax, didn't you just roll a crit? Check to confirm.
Morsum can't act because he's on full defense, and Sir Edmin goes after the shadow. That leaves Dren and Grumblejack. Dren still has the charge from his CLW from last round.
Grumblejack steps forward and swings. He is NOT paying attention to the circle on the floor. 1d20 ⇒ 19 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 4) + 5 = 11

Well I'm glad you noticed that! I didn't..
Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Extra damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Whoo! Even at half damage that's 10

Douglas Muir 406
Well!
The second shadow is just turning to reach for the gap in the circle when Jax's sparking magic sword and Grumblejack's massive blow strike it almost simultaneously. It, too, disintegrates -- for a moment there are a few scraps of darkness, and then nothing.
Once again there is silence. The light shines down on the glass dome. Under it, the blue and silver dragon pendant sparkles.
"Huh," says Grumblejack. (He has the "pleased with himself for smashing something" look that you're starting to recognize.) "They weren't so tough." He turns to look at the glass dome. "How 'bout I smash that thing?"

The Judge looks at Morsum who is looking a little worse for the wear and then up at Grumblejack.
Lets see if Toothpick can unlock it. If he cannot, or once we have retrieved what is within, then you can smash the pedestal to smithereens.

Bref takes a moment to flex and pose after his buff from Dren.
Then he hops over the circle, though it is not necessary now Take 10
He whips out his tools and sets to work.
+5 to check for traps
DD 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 add one to thatif Disabling a trap. And a second roll if the first was not good enough. DD 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 add one to thatif Disabling a trap.

making the roll anyhow Reflex 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 1 = 10

Douglas Muir 406
DM I made some edits, I assume my last spell was not needed, I did roll knowledge for the necklace, if Knowledge local 21, if Knowledge arcana/history/religion 20.
Knowledge [nobility] may not apply here, since it's a religious symbol. Holy icons and whatnot don't follow heraldic conventions. Other hand, maybe it would if it was granted to a knight? Unclear.
If heraldry is the right way to read this, then it's a bit odd. The amulet is a sunburst -- the holy symbol of Mitra -- with a dragon above it. It's all silver, though. Lots of noble families and orders use dragons in their heraldry, of course, but it's considered gauche to use metallic dragons in the wrong color, and the only one currently using a /silver/ dragon is Princess Bellinda, the King's daughter.

            Bref breathes in deeply.
Then he smiles.
He reaches in and snags the Amulet and waives it around like he is a flail wielding fighter.
GOBLIN INVINCIBLE WHOA!!!! TEE HEE TEE HEE HEE HEE HO! GOBLIN TIRED OF GOING SO SLOW. TIME TO FINISH SO GOBLIN CAN EAT ZORCO!
Bref charges up the stairs turning flips every few feet. Acro1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Douglas Muir 406
Okay, Bref has grabbed the amulet and run up the stairs. Anyone who wants to stop him can try beating him on Init; otherwise, you can just run after him. (Or not. You can hang out down here for a while longer, no biggy.)
The stairs open up into a corridor running east-west... Hey, you recognize where you are! A left turn should take you right back to where you entered, and back into the mansion.
I have to head for bed now, alas. More in the morning.

            Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Jax will run after Bref and try interjecting himself between Bref and the staircase, which shouldn't be too hard since he was already beside it. Hey, Shouty, keep it down. We don't know what's up those stairs or beyond, 'kay? What happened to sneaky goblin?

            Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
"Someone stop that little son of ma batch!" The anti paladin heads up the stairs after Bref the Invincible.

            Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Init(Morsum): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The Judge watches Bref take off up the steps.
While I imagine that this is the end of the test, I hope that if it is not, that Toothpicker will set off any more traps.
With that, Morsum follows Bref up the stairs followed closely by the Judge.

            initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
He has to stop to get through a door or just stairs leading up? If I get a chance I will use command to command him to come to me if I get within 30' feet of him.
Command will be a DC 16 Willpower save.
I don't need to grapple anyone :]
