Edmin seems to has given in to the beast that is always just under the surface of the knight. He drops the ruined ax and draws his long sword as he moves forward singing it with both hands.

I once again completely forgot about Grumblejack. The Judge would have included Grumblejack in the haste instead of Ragnar - and Ragnar actually did not use the haste attack.

Seeing the captain focusing on the party members, the Judge decides to give the Captain something else to focus on.

Was thinking about casting enlarge person on Grumblejack, but think that disarming the captain would be preferable.

The Judge stares at the Captain as the Judge takes a small amount of oil from his pouch which he then flicks at the Captain's axe.

Cast Grease on axe - DC16 or drop axe.


Okay, another spray of fine droplets appears around the Captain. 1d20 ⇒ 19

Well. He takes the damage from Sir Edmin, or most of it.

Well, anyway.

The Captain isn't bothered to find himself between enemies -- plunging into crowds and laying waste around him with Breaker is what he does. However, Jax actually did some damage. So: "Sven! Haakon! Kill this fool!"


BTW, bluffs against the sailors have no effect. They are terrified of the Captain, and have been thoroughly conditioned to fast unthinking obedience to him.

Sadly, while Haakon has a single level of barbarian, he never got around to picking up Power Attack, and a little handaxe is not a great weapon for piling on damage. Still, he'll do his best: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

The touch of the tentacle thing is intangible but cold, cold. It seems to drain the very life out of you.

That's another 5 points on Dren and 4 points on the prone and helpless Jax. Jax, you are now at -7. Don't forget your bleed check (not that it matters much, since Sven and Haakon are going to kill you next round as per orders).

Xenfal casts CLW then moves to Jax's side, though still 10 feet from the captain, assuming this provokes from someone Xen clicks his boots together Daredevil boots, +5 to acro vs Aoo

1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 5 = 20 wow. if that is not good enough to avoid the AOO then Xen gets +4 to his AC from mobility for a total of 25

Once there he touches Jax 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12


The Captain sneers at Sir Edmin. "So, Broken Axe, you think you can escape death? Even here on land, the Kraken protects me from your friends and their little magics. And you are never my match with a blade."

Yeah, even with the Staggered condition and -1 Str, that's hitting.

Damage: 1d12 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21


Second attack on Grumblejack: 1d20 ⇒ 15 Yup, that's a hitsie too. The ogre takes 1d12 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 points of damage.

And a third and final attack on Sir Edmin: 1d20 ⇒ 18


aaand damage on Sir Edmin: 1d12 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17


If I'm counting right, Sir Edmin has 7 hp left.

Okay, that's it for the Captain and his friends. Init is now Xenfal, Jax, Ragnar the Dog, Dren, the Judge, the two sailors, Captain Odenkirk, Sir Edmin, Morsum, Zimu, Grumblejack. Morsum is still running through the trees, so that leaves Sir Edmin and Zimu. Guys?

Morsum is sprinting toward the fight. No stealth. The stealth roll was while tracking the group as he would not have strayed far and needed a stealth roll I figured.
