Draws his sword.

"What the f@~+ is that?"

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

It looks like some sort of devil-creature. *directed at the creature* Do you speak?
We must bind our companion until he is right in his head again. Yeah, I know the effect is gone but Aref doesn't.

It says something in a language none of you recognizes.

"Ninahu sit ye. Camatez manata carenu mi vi eren."

It tilts its head to the side - still laying on the gound.

Shiny, what languages does Pulsifer understand?

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

Syd unties Jon wihlst regarding the creature with great suspicion.

Shiny, what languages does Pulsifer understand?

Common, Celestial, Abyssal, and Infernal (going by Int bonus = number of languages rules).

Pulsifer racks his brain, trying to recall anything about what this creature may be.

Knowledge (religion): 16 + 8 = 24
Knowledge (arcana): 6 + 8 = 14

If you understand abyssal:

Spoiler:
It speaks again: "That was close and what a f*~!ing mess if I may say so."

Pulsifer:

Spoiler:
It's too big to be a Quasit, although it has a few features in common.

Abyssal?! I'm not touching that with a ten-foot pole!

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

Surely you speak other languages, creature. Try again, for we don't understand your speech.

Whatever that creature may be... it must have a weak spot i can exploit. Thought the Deceiver.

It's left arm and leg are smoking stumps. Maybe you should finish him off.

It speaks again.

Pulsifer:

Spoiler:
"Seriously f+@~ing cramped in there. F!$$ing those Paladins of Aroden are seriously gonna get poked up their s$%~ters. You guys aren't Paladins are you? You know you guys look f+!~ed up, right?"

His hollowed features and withered limbs are slowly starting to fill out. As his skin regains its color some kind of patterns or symbols are revealed. He is tattooed with words.

Pulsifer:

Spoiler:
Again more Abyssal: "Hey whitey I know you understand me. Why the f+&+ did you shatter the cell? You want something right? You guys always want something."

Pulsifer: ** spoiler omitted **

Momentarily cursing the his inability to read the creature's aura, Rackham quickly realizes that he probably doesn't have to anyway.

Did those knowledge checks reveal anything?

Rackham Pulsifer wrote:

Sorry, my bad.

Pulsifer:

Spoiler:
The upheaval of Aroden’s death brought focus to a vast library of esoteric writings and minor myths about the Last Azlant, and much that was once considered fringe theory or unlikely folk story has come to be regarded with higher authority. One particular tale of a still mortal Aroden relates a journey to the distant north and a struggle against a foul cult dedicated to the demon prince Deskari, Lord of the Locust Host and usher of the Apocalypse. Aroden, it is said, drove the cult of Deskari into the Lake of Mists and Veils and forever locked the north from demonic influence. (Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer p. 57)

When Aroden died, his protection fell from the land of Sarkoris. Adherents of Aroden and his servant Iomedae the Inheritor thus believe it is their responsibility to pacify Sarkoris and seal the Worldwound. To this end, the pontiffs of those religions called the First Mendevian Crusade, as well as the three that followed. Zealous followers of the Inheritor from throughout Avistan travel up the Sellen River to Mendev in an attempt to support the crusaders, but aside from constructing a tenuous hedge to keep the demons from spreading further south (for now), little progress has been made in purging the land of demons, who seem to grow in number with each passing month. (Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer p. 57)

Iomedean expertise in stemming these demonic tides resides primarily in the Order of Holy Sentinels, of which the dead paladin found earlier was a member, but it is whispered that their knowledge flows from two disbanded orders in the church of Aroden: one of clerics known as the Lectors of the Gate and one of paladins known as the Door Keepers. Both of these, history teaches, were founded after the struggle against Deskari for the purpose of preparing for resisting future incursions from the Abyss.

There is no evidence here at hand to link this temple to either the Lectors or the Door Keepers, but as Aref has suggested there is a library here, and what you have in this room does not seem to be a complete collection, so there must be a library somewhere. After all you’ve found nothing on these shelves on demonology, and as Aref has discovered in his own studies that is precisely the sort of library that is said to be kept here.

As for this demon, its very existence here confounds your learning. Why would they not just slay it? If the power of its prison flowed from Aroden’s divine essence, how has its prison lasted so long after the god’s death; here you stand before the Eye of Aroden, as Aref called it, and still it glows with power. The bewitching of Jon was perhaps the work of this abomination - perhaps the Eye is weakening and it was finally able to reach outside of its prison with some kind of mind control or illustion.

Then it may have been inevitable that this creature would escape, but Pulsifer is certainly the one who opened its crumbling cage. What to do now?

Finally, the creature speaks with a gravelly voice in Taldane accented common tongue:

"Can one of you slack-jawed dumb asses get me some whiskey?"

"What abomination have we unleashed here?" Bohdan asks the air with a look of contempt on his face.
"Surely this creature was imprisoned for a reason, it's very appearance reeks of netherworldly ties."

Abomination of the natural world, sent from the fiery bowels of Hell wrote:
"Can one of you slack-jawed dumb asses get me some whiskey?"

Leveling his sword at the creature, Bohdan takes a step forward.

"Ware your words foul beast, we'll not associate with the likes of you."

Bohdan wrote:

"Ware your words foul beast, we'll not associate with the likes of you."

"Whore of Casmaron! The walking miscegenation can speak! And a f$@#ing cleric no less, or do my eyes deceive me? Must be some useless upstart god."

It lifts itself up into a sitting position and picks at the cauterized stumps.

Bohdan, a DC 20 religion roll will open up Pulsifer's spoiler 3 posts up.

"I have told you all there was some creature here."

"I swear i will kill you monster."

The creature, to Jon: "Please, I beg you, just shut up."

Half quietly to Pulsifer but still loud enough for Jon to hear: "You're letting their people into your ports? What are you thinking?"

Points to Syd, in a loud voice: "And you, don't even think of opening your food hole half breed. One is enough."

Rad is getting smacked down by RL.

Cordoba draws his weapons, says nothing and approaches the creature.

"Perhaps we should kill it." He suggests. "It's looking rather weak after, what, more than a century of imprisonment?"

"We could throw him back into that room and see what happens."

"Another devil f~#~ing halfbreed."

It's eerie onyx eyes sweep from face to face.

"What is with you people?"

It spits blood and bile onto the floor at Ryor's feet.

"Kill me? Never."

"You puny sacks of intestine know nothing of life. I've traveled the planes, I've traveled the stars, the sights I've scene would bend your souls to their knees. Your lives are a heartbeat to mine."

Sense motive anyone?

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

Kill it. It is growing in power and needs to be removed from de living. I would like to save my arcane might lest we encounter more dangers so could someone kick him into the ray room again?

Perhaps someone would like to roll initiative?

Init (1d20=13)

Still swamped.

Round 1

I think I'll forgo the battlemap.... It's a small room and it's going to be pretty crowded. Only 3 people can engage him with short reach melee weapons.

The creature is in the hallway between the chamber and the secret room on the main map.

Init:

22 The Abomination
20 The Deceiver: Init +7 (DEX 16)
17 Ryor Saar'Narlok: Init +4 (DEX 18)
16 Aref Sami Sharokh: Init +3 (DEX 16)
15 Sydley Hentooth: Init +2 (DEX 14)
14 Rackham Pulsifer: Init +1 (DEX 13)
14 Jon Qiang: Init +1 (DEX 12)
13 Bohdan: Init +0 (DEX 10)

>>>>>REPOSTED CURRENT MAP, NOT A BATTLEMAP<<<<<

"Lastik verenum!" It says.

The Abomination makes a jabbing motion at Aref with its pointer and middle finger, a local sign that means, more or less, that Aref should go fornicate with his parents.

Everyone but Aref is startled for a moment, thinking it's casting, and they wait for some kind of evocation to erupt from the finger tips.... it never does.

Cordoba. I'm gonna crash, Rad. If you see this just say attack, or whatever and I'll post the rolls in the morning. If not I'll call the action myself.

If any other of you work hound pbpers wants to jump initiative go for it.

Ian, if Jon wants to grab this guy and push him into the room with the lasers you need to roll 1d20+7 (CMB) and grapple him first. Throw him next round. You need 15 or higher, and he'll be weakened fighting back because he's missing an arm and a leg.

Pharasma wrote:

You will kill on command! Screams an unearthly female voice inside the Deceiver's head.

Cordoba raises his dagger and moves to strike.

Attack with weird dagger (1d20+4=16, 1d4+1=2)

This is the dagger with the electrical qualities. Please add whatever bonus the thing is supposed to give. Thanks.

The Deceiver wrote:

Cordoba's hair stands on end for a second when he unsheathes the dagger and drives it into the recumbent demon, but nothing else seems to happen.

It's reply: "AAAAAAGGgGGghhh! OUCH! That frackin' hurts you s#@~head! Moron. Nice knife but I think you forgot to say the magic word."

"What magic word?!"

Lunch Break; Drinking a Venti sized cup of coffee. Boss off site.

M Human Wizard 3

Rackham draws himself up to his full height, and for a moment, one can almost imagine him as a younger man, leading the holy warriors of the Lady into battle.

"Tell us your purpose, fiend, and I shall assure you that your death will be swift. I took an oath to destroy your kind, and *hack* I *ack* will..."

Pulsifer's proclamation dissolves into a fit of hacking coughs. After a moment, he wipes his mouth with the sleeve of his robe. The rough cloth is spattered with blood.

"Answer me."

To Pulsifer: "I'm between jobs, Whitey. Can you ask your friend to please not stab me."

Shiny, I reckon you caught that huge spoiler above?

The Deceiver wrote:
"What magic word?!"

"I'll make you a deal. You don't stab me anymore and I might tell you tomorrow."

Ryor draws his longsword and thrusts it into the demon's remaining leg.

Longsword, damage: (1d20+4=15, 1d8=4)

"What do I get?"

Pharasma wrote:

"Not good enough. Try again."

Ryor wrote:

It's face twists into a rictus of fury, and a fire flashes in its jet eyes.

In a voice far deeper than such a small creature would ever produce: "AAAARRG! INTO THE MAELSTROM WITH YOU!"

The Deceiver wrote:

"Not good enough. Try again."

The demon growls: "Desumo."

The dagger crackles with electricity.

"Haud"

The blue web of energy disappears. The smell of ozone lingers in the air.

The stats are on this thread.

"Hey, that's cool."

"Desumo!"

I did. Just being dramatic. And stuff.

Rackham looks from Ryor to Cordoba and back.

"If I close my eyes, I can pretend this isn't happening."

Ryor's face turns white and he suddenly runs from the room screaming.

The Deceiver wrote:

Electrical sparks dance across the blade's surface.

Perception rolls

DC 10:

Spoiler:
The limbs cut off in the secret room have been slowly transforming. They are beginning to look like the limbs of a Gnome or Halfling.

Perception (1d20+8=16)

"Hey, what are those things?!" The Deceiver points to the severed limbs.

M Human Wizard 3

I GOT A 4!

I guess you're too busy closing your eyes and hoping it will all go away.

The Deceiver wrote:
"Hey, what are those things?!" The Deceiver points to the severed limbs.

Cordoba gestures to the limbs that were removed by the trap in the secret room. They have lost their red complexion and now look like the legs of a halfling or a gnome.

The Deceiver wrote:

"Desumo!"

Don't forget to turn it off.

Jon grapples the demon.
grapple (1d20+7=8)

Jon tries to grab the abomination, but it kicks him away with its remaining leg.

It curses at him in Tianyu: "How dare you touch me! Nige shabi!"
