You head down to the bomb bay while the villagers are distracted.
This part of the wreckage appears to be the focus of the scavenging efforts of the scrap miners of Dry Fort.
There is ample room here for the characters to pull up the cart and begin work immediately. Extracting steel from the wreckage is a difficult and time-consuming process that involves prying off the bent and twisted plating of the plane’s fuselage, hauling it to the cart, and securing it.
The effort should take three hours for four reasonably strong characters working non-stop. Keep in mind that activity here is likely to draw the attention of the villagers.

"We'll need to distract them from investigating this for a while. I will tell them I have seen another sky god like this one not far from here, a child of this sky god, much smaller. With enough of their strong men they could carry it back here reuniting it with the father and earn the love and thanks of their sky god."

Rose slowly nodded to his companions once the plan was made giving them each a chance to stop him before he went to the praying primitives. He gritted his teeth disliking this leadership thing he had somehow inherited but stepping forward due to the group needing someone to step up and get things done. He would gladly revoke his mantle and resume his quiet swordsman routine but that seemed an unlikely hope now. Well in a few days they might all be dead by Wastelords in any case.
He strode to the front of the praying people and pitched his voice to carry out across their mass. "Hear me and rejoice followers of the Sky-God! I have been enlightened this day by basking in the Sky-God's presence! There was a reason I was summoned here to him for in my travels I encountered a smaller one but in the same image of the Sky God! His child lies only a day or so travel from here and reuniting the father and child would bring you all the blessing of his love on you! Come with me now all of you to retrieve his child! To the northwest it lies in a canyon not far in the mountains! Join this holy pilgrimage!"

Rose nods half expecting them needing him to lead them and hopes the others will use this time well. He'll have to meet them back at the fort assuming he can slip away after he leads the fanatics on a little journey into the wastes...
Rose starts off leading as many of the men as he can away from the SkyGod trying to aim them roughly toward the northwest.

As Rose leads the villagers on a wild goose chase the rest of the group is able to stock up fill the cart with all the supplies that was requested from Dry Fort. Rose eventually is able to loose the villagers some how and meets the group back on the road back.
