Okay! I think I'm all set. I'd love feedback on the character's crunch as I have only most of an idea if I've done this right. I'll get some fluff in the alias soon, I hope.
Everything looks kosher to me. I'd suggest that, in the future when we have the chance to buy gear, you invest in some grenades and an automatic weapon.

Hola! Got the character together.
If anyone missed it in the recruitment thread, Odette's a super sneaky unsanctioned psyker. It's something she keeps hidden.
I also welcome anyone to browse over the character. I've got 100XP lef to spend and I was considering using it either for an additional lore of some sort if anyone has any idea what might be helpful there.
Any other suggestions are also more than welcome. I'm new to this so I'm kind of groping around in the dark when it comes to viable builds and such.

Stupid question, but how do you have all that extra stuff, Ciaran? I thought we were only allowed to get as many extra items that we weren't simply given from our background/role as our Influence Bonus.
No one has equipment yet. If you can secure your items that will change.
I have an influence bonus of 4 so that's four additional items at character creation on top of my starting gear. Each weapon comes with 2 clips of ammunition as well. I bought grenades, guard armor, an autopistol, and a silencer. The Hand Flamer came from being a Sororitas as did the Body Glove and the rest were knick knacks from Sage.

Ah, gotcha. Fair enough! I have no idea which book the Sororitas came from, so I couldn't check on my own. :x
Also, is the rule meet-it-to-beat-it for rolls? Because if that's the case, that three for Emperor's Blessing succeeded. If not, that'll be a failure.

Happy Halloween All. I just picked up the newest addition to the Dark Heresy line-Enemies Without. I will allow some selections from this resource also for future characters, or if you really want to change something I might consider it since we just started.

Out of curiosity, what sort of action is it to don armor? Or how long does it take in terms of action economy? I haven't got that book, but I will certainly look it up!
If its just like a jacket a half action. If its full armor, than a half action per section covered.
One caveat to this would be power armor. There is a bit more to it than just putting it on(unless you are using something heretical!) so that bridge we will have to cross if it comes up again.

I do not have either Enemies Within or Enemies Without, So I am not sure if there is anything in it that would be particularly good for my character. So...
I'll be holding off on posting my action to see if someone will throw me my tasty new toys. Don't let it be said that I didn't warn anyone about the rats.
Most of stuff in the books are for character generation. A psyker seeker is a pretty bomb diggity character so don't feel left out
Don't have a copy of the rulebook at work so I'll have to wait a few hours before posting. Need to double check the rules for suppressing fire and ranged penalties so that I can declare actions.

I propose that we take this chance to try and befriend these Collectors. If I remember correctly we didn't fire at any of them directly, so we could feasibly convince them that we're here to help.
Besides that fact that indiscriminate killing is likely to hit our Subtlety.
The main issue is that we would need a real good reason to be here and it's probably best to not mention the Inquisition...maybe?
I mean, worse case scenario we kill them and blame the Razor Angels anyway, but I think having even a small amount of good will in a notable gang would do well for us.
I maintain we move on. We can always call in favors later and it is best for our subtlety if we don't get any further involved.
How subtle do ya'll want to end up running this shindig, anyhow? Inquisitor's gone to great lengths to put us undercover and we certainly can't go marching about in guard flak armor if we want to keep that facade for long.
Also if anyone else wants to step up and take authority, feel free. Sororitas are pretty sassy by nature but I'm not actually trying to cow anyone into submission.

Not unknown for people to have it even if they are no longer in the IG.

I'd vote for quite as a mouse personally. I'm pretty sure we have zero connections that will allow us to not be hunted if we approach this without much tact.

I meant more with regard that entering a situation in full combat armor tends to project a certain attitude that I would rather leave off if we're doing investigations.
Ideally I'd like to get to a point where we have some form of base or camp where we can keep our things when not using them.

I'm away from my PC at the moment and can't get at my book. Anyone able to tell me how long it takes to use the Medicae skill for things? I'm considering offering a quick medical service in exchange for the parts, but don't know if that's viable time-wise.

I don't remember how much time specifically - but much longer than we realistically need to be staying in their junkyard.
I think we are going to be lucky to get out of here without being indentured servants for a day at this rate, so hopefully we can slip by without much fuss and continue on our business.

Yes only 1 point heh. so from 20 to 21 using that example. Influence does not increase/decrease as other characteristics.

Does anyone have any ideas for how to sneak onto this lift? I'd prefer not to need to indenture myself to some random noble (much less with them all going rather heretical). I'd say lets just slip into our skimmer outfits but I'm not sure we will be able to find a quite place to do that without seeming odd and drawing attention to ourselves.

Would finding a route up that is not a lift be feasible? I cannot think of a way onto the lift that is not noticeable or indenturing.
Skimmer suits may work. We could try bribing our way on.

No papers. It seems on desoleum the oath cog is used for that purpose.

Is there some area not clogged with people that we might be able to pull the upper hive outfits on without rousing too much suspicion?
Just a reminder as to what you are doing incase people forgot over Thanksgiving.You are tasked with the Emperor's Work: to investigate the deaths and possible connections to any illicit artefacts, determine if they are potential dangers of a wider nature, and terminate their distribution. Recover and contain any items uncovered, lest they corrupt others. Lans Guiljian is your only current lead.
So we've kind of stalled right now. I propose we find somewhere on this level of the hive to use as a headquarters so we can reorganize ourselves and approach with a better plan.

I agree. A good reset and regroup. Do we know anything about where we are now that'd give us a good idea of where we could do that?
Most of us are imperial agents of one color or another. No doubt that gives us a good deal of choice when it comes to arranging a safe house. Seems like a good time for an influence test.
Even though this is a premade dungeon, as with most of the 40k RPG modules they are very different than something you would expect from most RPG modules. They give a very basic outline of events, the details are not fleshed out at all. I personally like that because it allows me to let you all sandbox a bit, but sometimes things can seem more complicated than they are.
So far you have walked past a lift that went down in a very busy street, and forced your way up a lift that goes up, without ever inquiring or looking into your one true lead. If you are expecting to find a sign that says "Lans Guiljan's house this way" you will be disappointed.

I have not been expecting to be handed the answers, but as Lans is supposedly a minor noble, I do not expect much information on him to be found in the lower hive.
Perhaps I am mistaken, but that is why I have not been doing much investigating thus far.
Without any information otherwise, I think it was a fair assumption that Lans Guiljan would be in the spire with the rest of the nobility.
Given that he has been our only lead, I honestly can't say I would have thought to do anything differently up to this point.
Also, does anyone speak low gothic? I could attempt the linguistics check untrained but I'm afraid I don't have a very good chance.

Linguistics is a specialist skill and cannot be used untrained; I Checked for that. Even if it could, in my case, I cannot roll a -5.
