Hi Rad, nice to see you again. We've been keeping things in hiatus with Johnnie awaiting your return. Feel free to email me if you want to get caught up.

Np Rook. The only reason I saw it was because I was looking up the lasguns info yet again and it happened to catch my eye.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

Good to have you back, Rad. Johnnie's brother is trying to indirectly kill me.

Dark Archive

Nice to be back.

Rook, i sent you something in email.

Davi, sorry to hear about Johnnie's bro.

Dark Archive

Kudos to everyone. The game is already a year old.

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Sorry for the slow posting of late guys, I hope to get caught up in full this weekend. I really haven't been trying to create this much suspense.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Thats okay Rook, a little suspense never hurt anyone. Can't say the same about the Auldmaw or the Nurglings though.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

I really hope he has some assistants to help examine my weapons. Otherwise we're going to be here a while. (Hey, why wouldn't I be carrying around all the weapons I could realistically carry?)

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

No worries Iacton, blades are the order of the day. Don't feel bad, at least you aren't carrying the golf-bag of magic weapons I've had some characters toting around in D&D.

Who said I felt bad? By the time we get to Ascension territory (several years from now), I intend to have enough blades that if I carried all of them they would count as armor.

Hmm.

My twisted imagination might just hold you to that Davi.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Bladed armour, that is an interesting image.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Just don't trip...

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

...or bump into someone.

Balfic-graa wrote:

These are blades, not guns. They won't all go off just because I fell over.

(Besides, I'd have an improbable number of scabbards to keep my improbably number of swords in.)

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Davi, I don't know if you want to, but it might be time to spend a fate point. I know you only have two left and might want to save them.

So instead of shooting yourself, you'll just stab yourself repeatedly.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

And the fight (probably) begins. Unless it dodges, I probably have first blood. Here's hoping I won't need to spend many more fate points.

Also, remember that since my blade isn't Primitive and has +2 Penetration, unless the Auldmaw is wearing a flak jacket it's going to get cut.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Does penetration affect toughness? If it does, Auldmaw took 10 points of damage, not 8.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

It only affects your armor value. It does not modify toughness.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Thanks Balfic, I thought that was the answer, but I wasn't sure.

Cat, it might the time to spend a fate point.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Yep, Bal has it right had to check that one myself also.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

It is just that it mentions armour points, but doesn't say anything at all about toughness, which is why I wasn't sure.

Wish I could I have no more left.

3000 posts in IC!

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

Do you know how giddy I am at how well I'm rolling in this fight? I haven't been hit yet, and assuming the Auldmaw has at best 30 Wounds I've taken out half of it's health. Truly, the Emperor takes care of his own.

You guys (and Davi/Iacton especially) have earned a combat with some good rolls beginning to end, luck has been with your foes of late.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Posting has been slow the last couple of days because I'm in charge of the prep and cooking for the family dinner, and it has eaten up (pun intended) most of my free time.

After things have settled down tonight, I will post a few turns and get us caught up.

We can also be thankful that Rad will be returning to the game shortly, we've corresponded by email and I'm hoping to get him worked back into the game following the current scenes.

Happy T day everyone.

Sorry Davi. Just consider it the appetizer to the main course.

Hmm...on second thought maybe a food analogy was a poor choice.

I'll post a little later tonight, just wanted to get in a quick one with the result of Sav's Awareness test that I goofed on.

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Have been fighting the flu this week, sorry about the irregular posts, guys. I will be posting for the Pipesource and claustrum later tonight.

Albrek is a tough sonofab%!!%, even with those rolls he eked out another round.

One intense round of antibiotics later, I feel relatively human again.

I'm quickly learning that my son brings a lot more than just cute pictures home from school, :p

Time to catch up on posts.

Welcome back Rook. Glad to see Papa Nurgle didn't get the best of you.

He tried his best, Bal, that's for sure. Haven't been sick like that in a while.

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Now wouldn't it be funny for Johnnie to come back, kill the Auldmaw; and by rights become Luceros blood brother again...

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

If it was only so easy for Johnnie...

Just waiting on Uriah's Initiative for the Pipesource combat.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

Initiative already posted. You survived Nurgle's test, so you are worthy of his love.

Thanks Lorm, I have to admit he almost got the best of me this time around.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

I'll pass a Fear test one of these days.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I haven't passed one yet either, Davi. and that is with a 50 WP. I just missed three rolls in a row because of that -10. I feel your pain.

Between Christmas shopping, prepping the house for the relatives and work it has been a tough week for me to post. I have finished the second round of the Pipesource battle, and started the third, but may only be able to post sporadically until the holidays are over.

Provided there is still enough interest, now might be a good time to start concepting out Deathwatch characters for the Sons of Jericho campaign, as I plan on bringing the wiki online over the coming week while on vacation (hooray for free time!).

Here's wishing everyone a Happy Holidays!

Male Half-Orc 9th lvl Cleric, 4th lvl Ninja, 1st lvl Black Flame Zealot

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Holidays to everyone.

Rook I am still interested in the Sons of Jericho game. Just have the base Death Watch book though.

Male Catfolk Shade (magically altered human) Monk-8, Mage-16

I am still interested in the DW game. Do you want us to use the pregens or make a character from scratch?

Tad late for that, don't you think?

Anyway, merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

(I still call dibs on a Blood Angel Apothecary in the Deathwatch game.)

We can get together this week, Balfic. I can bring the books you don't have.

I still want to play the Devastator Marine.

Dark Archive

Merry Christmas everyone :-)

For Rook

Spoiler:
How many players you need for Sons of Jericho? And can I play a Dark Angel Librarian?
My laptop is again back in the shop, sigh.

Dark Archive

Male Human Warhammer 40K GM

Hi again, Rad. Thanks again for being patient while events unfold in this game, I promise to get you back into action soon.

As far as the number of players for the Deathwatch game goes, I'm offering spot to everyone in the DH game who wants a spot first, and will consider recruiting following that. I'd prefer no more than six players though, just to make managing the game a little easier.

Lorm, we'll be generating new characters for this game, not pre-gens, and I'll probably use published material for the adventures, at least at first. I have a copy of The Emperor Protects coming and would like to work this book into a campaign arc of some kind.

For those who don't own the core book in the current game and who still want to play, using one of the pre-gens from the free pdf's on the FFG website, altered of course with your own personalization is fine to start. The book is excellent and comes highly recommended though, and would be worth a purchase sometime after starting the campaign.

Bal, the Deathwatch core book is plenty for now. I'd actually ask that you don't read the adventure compilation coming out, as that is what I will likely be using.

Davi, consider it reserved.

So, thus far we are looking at this for a kill-team:

Davi: Blood Angel Apothecary
Lorm: Undecided Chapter Devastator Marine
Rad: Death Angel Librarian
Bal: Hmm, I remember Bal also posting somewhere a few pages back that he was considering a Librarian. I'll let you and Rad hash out if squatter's rights prevail here.

Ellipsis and Catman are also welcome to join, they still have plenty of time to decide on reserving their places and their marines. Once I have the new book in hand, I will begin fleshing out the wiki.

OK, now that the early Deathwatch discussion is out there, are there any new Oremor Affliction talking points anyone would like to discuss? We haven't had a chance recently to dissect the game in OOC and I like to periodically open things for discussion for any questions, concerns, or recommendations to improve the experience for everyone.

Feel free to weigh in.
