Trup, can we reroll any 9, i thought we only could if we got more than 3 under 10? If I can, then I'll reroll the 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 6) = 21 17!! definitely like that better than 9
so let me know if I can use it

I read it that way at first, also. But it says:

If you score up to 3 stats below 10, you may reroll those 3 only.

It's still cool, Lem would not have been as inspiring if I didn't think of him as 4-pt buy for a day or two. That's why we roll dice in the first place, right?

So yes I'v got the character sheet pretty much written up you'v already got the down low on Gardsin, I'm interested in joining up let me know if I need to know anything else about this world so I can maybe.. better prepare myself?
Regardless of whether I get into the campaign or not I like thinking about it ^^

For everyone - Up to 3 low low stats can be re rolled. I'm sorry if I made that confusing.

Maveith - Just post up your character. I like his short backstory already, and thereisn't anything that you really need know that isn't in the Campaign info.

Liberty's Edge

6 6 6 3=18
3 1 4 6=13
2 6 1 5=13
3 5 1 6=14
1 5 6 4=15
3 6 6 2=15

had to throw around some ideas here, but settled on a half-orc barbarian with a huge hammer and a healing touch to stabilize dying folk. found the dichotomy interesting.

Gragos is a half-orc with the curse of rage, but he wants to find a way for his people to be free of it, or at least master it to keep them from destroying themselves (or the rest of the world.) He almost killed his mother went he went berserk one time, and his sacred touch saved her. more wordy backstory in my character page. Not sure what I want to do with him, exactly, but that's part of the fun: letting things play out.

EDIT: hmm, lots of frontliners on submission so far. at least we'll have a nice, tanky group for lots of door-kicking and beast-bashing!

Submitting Jessop Misofale Drae for consideration. I know I rolled another 13 to replace the 9, but I thought I'd keep at least one stat with a negative and another with no bonus just to keep him from feeling too good. I went back and forth on whether to make a Half-orc Monk or a Sorcerer, but seeing how many fighters are in the running I thought they might enjoy a little healing and buffing.

Jessop:

Overall this Character sheet looks really good, I just have a few questions.

1)Does he think all Gods are calling him? Or is one in paticular singleing him out as their champion?
2)What does his holy symbol come from? does he carry around a random one from the established gods not caring who?(As it seems all gods ar speaking in his head) or does he prefer a certain kind?

Other than that I enjoyed the backstory and the character would fit right in. Thanks

Personality:
Ice Eyes is about as blunt and independent as they come. She'll use simple to the point sentences and sees little need to be diplomatic. She believes in being open and up front, and sees little need to mask her intentions. If she doesn't like you, you'll know it. In short, she's as honest and blunt as the harsh lands she called home.

Appearance:
White hair and steel-gray eyes are her most striking features. Tattoos mark her as a hunter of the wild lands as much as her toned and lithe frame. Her skin is fair despite spending years out in the sun. She wears simple clothing and armor, as much a reflection on her personality as it is for practical purposes.

In the spirit of the saying that it is better to beg forgiveness than ask premission, I'm going to make some assumptions that may not work in her background, so forgive me if I butchered your world, Trup.

Background:
The hunt, it was as natural to her as breathing.

She crept along the rocks and stone that rose like the ruined wall of some forgotten fortress. Her prey walked below, unaware of the hunter that stalked above. Quiet as a whispering breeze, she slid an arrow into place and knocked it. The pull of her bow, the tensing of her arm as she pulled back, all of this was familiar to her. In, then out, hold, and loose it quickly, but gently. The arrow streaked in and ran the goat through. The kill was hers. The goat just didn't know it yet. blood splattered the ground as it bounded off to get away from what ever it was that nipped it, or what it thought had nipped it.

A short time later, the girl found her kill. Her long hunting knife was out and she began to quickly clean her kill with practiced hands. Skin it and keep the hide. Gut it, no time to gather anything useful this day, there was a bear about. Keep the liver, though. Done? Yes, now bundle the meat and get away from here.

It was what she had done for as long as she can remember. She hadn't always used a bow, and at first it was hares, and squirrels, but she had been on her own for nearly, what was it now? Ten winters? She remembered a little of the time before, but everything did remember before she awoke covered in blood was a blur. She had been alone since that day, fending for herself.

She had managed to become fairly skilled in the time since and even began trading with the orcs and half-orcs in the villages and towns in the foothills of the mountains between New Thaok and Korsko. Over the years she traded for arrows, a longbow, a sword, her knife, and a really nice backpack. The hunters in the villages took to calling her "Eqi Iyiz," "Ice Eyes." It stuck and she took it as her name, since she could not remember the one her parents had given her. They gave her a set of tattoos that marked her as a hunter, sharp of eye and steady of hand.

Her camp was in site, now. A fire blazed to life and she began to smoke the meat. A nearby stream and an bar of soap allowed her to clean her clothes. The other set was still drying, so she wrapped up in a blanket to keep out the night chill. She watched the flames and teh smoke rise up into the clear night sky.

She almost had enough for another potion. Perhaps the next kill would be enough.

Perhaps. In the wilds, nothing was ever certain.

Ice Eyes:

Her background is ok with me. The Wild-lands is home to literally hundreds of independent villages and barbaric tribes. No one grasps really how large these lands are. I have one question though, She seems to be more of a unter on land, where would she get the River Sniper trait?

Edit - Ah I see she is not from the Actual Wild-lands. Same question with the River Sniper, and I woudl suggest she genuinely be from the Wild-lands as it is definitely a place where I can see here hailing from.

Otherwise looks good

He actually doesn't know if it's some of the gods or all of them. He doesn't really care, either. Growing up in the Silveri Empire means he has virtually no religious knowledge or desire to learn. I imagine that will slowly change over time. Mostly, he just let's them talk and then goes on his merry way. It's his version of daily meditation and prayer, basically. He's mostly guided by his alignment (C/G) in what he does and which gods he's more inclined to listen to.

As for his holy symbol, it's just some random one he picked up because the gods were insistent he carry at least something. Again, he doesn't know or care to learn anything about religion. It's very possible it could be offensive to some or get him into trouble. If he ever does start to develop a respect for one of the gods, he'll probably seek out an appropriate holy symbol. He might even spend some decent coin on one, too.

Jessop - Alright then. I seen nothing wrong with this character or backstory.

Appearance:

This gruff creature stands out in a crowd usually. Not just because he usually towers over most other beings but also because of the two rather viscous looking teeth that protrude out of his closed mouth from his bottom jaw. Not only does he look like he's got quite the bite, it seems he could very well pack quite the punch, obviously no push over.

Along with that the beast holds two weapons, tied away to his hips as well as a bow strapped to his back along with his quiver and a pack full of useful items as well as a little pouch strapped around his waist line. He tends to wear tattered looking pants along with a hide shirt of sorts that he's rarely seen out of.

Of course, normally most of this is hidden due to the fact that Gardsin commonly wears a regular, dark green, hooded cloak

Personality&Quirks:

Name: His full name is Leo Gardsin, originally this was because his father 'Gardsin' had called him Little Gardsin and when the Half-orc could speak it came out as Leo. He can't remember what his true name the his father had given to him was. Leo adored his father as he should so after his disappearance he decided he would adopt his fathers name introducing himself if need be as "Gardsin... just Gardsin"

Common folk: Due to his heritage he tends to be shunned by the common folk, this he has gotten used to. He has learned that staying quiet benefits him a bit more, however, he knows of his own intimidating effect he can have. Either way, he looks at common folk as you would a bee. If he doesn't bother them... Then they won't bother him... most of the time.

Law/Guards: Although there can be good in these types of beings there is still a chance of corruption. Leo is always on his toes around these guys waiting for them to turn and push him out of their city. He respects them for standing up and protecting their citizens, yet despises them because most of his past if associating with them, its because of some minor crime or prejudice related topic.

Nobles: Simple Leo hates them.. he stereotypes all nobles as rich folk who have their own noses stuck up their rumps. To him all nobles have snotty attitudes and they can go jump in front of a 'Bulette' for all he cares.
Money: He's not one of greed. He does enjoy the thrill of adventuring and the satisfaction of finding something valuable in the end. Certainly does not rely on currency for anything though, only seeing it as a slight perk, to make it a little easier to take down stronger targets.

Inns: Due to being raised in nature Leo rather prefers the rough feel of ground under his bedroll rather than a comfortable bed that most seek. If sleeping in an actual bed his sleep is not as good, usually restless waking up, his dreams are usually haunted (unnatural floating sensation.)

Heights: He likes them... if he's in a tree and not on a hand built surface hundreds of feet above the surfaces below. A sense of unease comes with being on such structures, he can do it but that doesn't mean he likes it.

Drinking: He may have been isolated for most of his life but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy a bit of social drinking. Due to his orc stubbornness as well he won't turn down a good challenge. So far he has yet to let himself go, all but for one time... which he doesn't remember much more than introducing a new entrance to the tavern and waking up in an abandoned crawl mine only to have to rescue his gear from the now unfriendly town that he had been at the night before. (Leo hasn't put 2 and 2 together but its assumed he can get quite rowdy when he lets himself go)

Rations: found snacking on the rations in his belt pouch (which he can easily go through 10 days worth in around 6 days)

Wild Animals: Obviously he hunts, keeping to stealth most of the time and sending off arrows from a distance to take down targets, only pulling out his melee when necessary for larger animals (This applies for regular combat as well). If not hunting and he runs across a curious little beast sometimes he may try to coax the creature into coming to him. He does indeed like certain animals.

Religion: His father didn't bring him into the religious world much however at a young age his father gave him an emblem of Kalwor, something he always wears around his neck, tucked into the neck of his armor. Taught to always keep his head in any situation and trust that Kalwor is watching over to protect his dignity.

Alignment: Taught to watchover himself, and trust in himself. Trusting his own heart to judge one person from another. Don't be a pushover yet help those in need, while still making sure you have some sort of stable camp to come back to. For this reason, as well as some of his other personality traits,he fits best into the alignment of Chaotic Good

I'll probably add more to personality when I get the actual profile up for this fella Thanks if you read it all ^^

Trup:
I think I'll do that. Much of her back story won't change, but I still need to redo some parts.

As for the River Sniper trait, I didn't read the description very well and it shall be replaced promptly.

Okay, a couple of quick edits and I'm done. Her new trait is Highlander, and it fits much better.

Background:
The hunt, it was as natural to her as breathing.

She crept along the rocks and stone that rose like the ruined wall of some forgotten fortress. Her prey walked below, unaware of the hunter that stalked above. Perhaps. In the wilds, nothing was ever certain.

Maveith:

First of all, I greatly enjoyed how in detail you went with his personality. You definitely di a good job in the imagining of the character. Just a few rules things.

Favored class trait - He seems to have only 11 HP and 5 skill ponts. are you placing aside those point for additional HP for you animal companion?

Gold - You have 300 starting GP not 175. If you want to get some better items or such you may want to look it over.)

Other than that the character was fine.

Thank you much I like brainstorming on my characters.
Favored class trait. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing

and I don't get my animal companion until Hunters Bond at 4th level right?

I'll consider buying more with the rest of the gold but honestly I'v got the stuff I need for the most part so ya I can either hold onto the extra gold or just say it doesn't exist?

Thats correct, so upon gaining the companion he would have extra hp from the levels before that you decdided to give him the hp.

Trup:
So ya I'll just add the extra point to my companion when I get him. Might go ahead and map him out a few levels ahead just to make things go a bit more smoothly if the time arises.
Looking forward to hear from you ^^ *my minds open to any of your own thoughts on my character. Propose something and I'll add in how he might react to that type of situation on his profile. It'll help me flesh him out a bit more if anything

I finally got the time to finish writing Malwyn's backstory. I've added it to his profile.

Gardsin:

Honestly I don't have any more suggestions fo rhim other than to pick a favored enemy.

Malwyn:

Perfect, I love his backstory.

Alright, alias made.

Trup:
For the reroll, can I only do it if I get 3 or more rolls under 10? Or can I reroll my single 9, as I did in a previous post to a 17?

Grand Lodge

Trup:
Characater update: Favored Enemy [Humanoid(Orc)]

Reasoning:
Orc: Although he appreciates the strengths that his ancestry has given him, he still despises full breed orcs. Early years in his life involved being around them with his father, multiple times being caught, Leo learned from each experience finding ways around the monsters, manipulating them, and spending days tracking them sometimes to keep up with his father. To Leo, orcs are rutheless and have no dignity. They are as bright as sheeps and even then he feels thats an insult to the sheep.
(added to personality)

Krular:
Yes you can take the higher roll.

Gardsin:
Noted. all right then I think everything is done with him

revised sheet under the link. Still have to spend money.

Trip, anything you would like ne to add?

Lem Manayd:

Ok just some little things
1) You should have only 3 skill points, and only if thats where your favored class bonus went.

2)Alignment, I may have missed it but I couldn't find it.

3)As you already stated you need to get your gear in order and money spent.

Also to answer your question, yes they would stack.

Jacetms87:

Nope your good

Trup:
Skills are 2 (Fighter) +2 (Lore Warden), and his Favored Class is Cavalier, so it doesn't count (yet). He'll be going into Dragon Honor Guard Cavalier as circumstances (and story) permit. The reroll let him have a decent Dex, but the early 4-pt 'helper' concept holds. Lem is a Menayd, after all, and the Menayds are helpers. :)

Alignment is NG.

Purchased gear (work in progress, never built a rider before, where is tack and such? Included with the riding animal?)

GP SP LB
150 Riding Dog
20 (15) Barding for dog
10 7.5 Leather armor for self
20 1.5 Halfling Sling Staff
2 ( 5) 20 Sling Bullets
10 ( 5) Lance
20 1 Rapier
8 1 Kukri

Grand Lodge

Well this is looking to have some rather interesting possibilities for characters that's for sure.

Lem Manayd:

Perfect, I forogt he was going Lore Warden.

Submission will be closing today! if you have anything you wanted changed or perhaps your thinking it's too late to put something in but still wanted to try to join, now is the time to do so!

I am reviewing all of the characters right now. It's going to be hard to pick a group from the current submissions.

Okay, I swapped out my 9 for a 17 and adjusted my abilities and the consequences accordingly. Look forward to hearing from you

I don't think anyone else will be applying for this, so I will be closing submissions to applications. If you have anyhting that needs changed in your current submission, or you are still polishing up your character, let me know before tommorrow morning when I will PM the new PC's of the Dark Hearts campaign

Ok I guess I'm a liar, but I had a lot more free time today then I had originally thought. I will be opening up a dsicussion thread and PMing my choices. See you there new PC's!

Silver Crusade

Good Luck all.
