Introduction

This is the Kingmaker Campaign, yet it is filled with many deviations from the boxed set. The "Campaign Information" page is meant as a quick resource to help sum up the thousands of posts quickly.

Except I don't know how to make the accent mark above the A.
It's okay. It can written without the accent. Saora. :)

How do you pronounce that? Is it Sow-ra or Sa-or-a

Pronounced sa-or-a. The 'a' is pronounced like it is in 'father'.

Everyone Please Read:

I think this kind of post would help each of us get into the heads of the other characters.

Who is Smendor:

*He is about 50% of the main character from Lord of War that was played by Nicolas Cage. This is the military merchant side go anywhere to make the sell and yes a little ruff.

*He is about 20% casino pit boss. This is the perception and suspicion side.

*He is about 20% mobster boss. He is a noble in an odd way and he like to drop wisdom comments.

*He is about 10% mobster hitter. He will not blink when it comes to a fight.

gideon's personality breakdown:

Still working on some of his personality stuff, but basically

50% Obi Wan Kanobi

20% neutral version of Jafar

20% Undecided

10% Orc who just wants to split heads open with a club

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Giving the other a chance to speak, "I new a man from the academy from the west. If I remember the words it think think he would say.

birta draumaland

I think it would be birth of perfection in a common language.

If the little translator I found worked it would be the words birth utopia in Icelandic.

Still musing over names Gideon says

Patria (pa Tree ah). It means homeland.

In portuguese ;-) There is an accent over the A, but I don't know how to type that.

Yay!

Good job, lots of social RP... I like it! It will be noted on your character sheet...

Smendor, I forgot your post on the ropes earlier, however, Oelg does not have them, nor the healing kit. If fact, I think I mentinoned a list of what he has, but if not, I'll toss it up again...

This room contains two barrels of
drinking water, a half-full barrel of lantern oil,
three common lamps, a dozen candles, a week’s
worth of firewood, a hooded lantern, 70 feet of
hemp rope, a tent, and enough food (mostly cheese,
hard bread, and dried venison) to last for 2 weeks.

Oleg has also confided in you, now that he trusts you more...

The stock currently consists of a suit
of leather armor, a heavy wooden shield, two hand
axes, five javelins, a longbow, two dozen arrows, a
scythe, two spears, two potions of cure light wounds,
a potion of shield of faith +2, two vials of antitoxin,
six torches, two weeks of trail rations, a number
of animal furs worth a total of 120 gp, and a chest
containing 1,080 cp, 577 sp, and 140 gp.

I hope that clears things up

Well, the pronunciation is really pretty but I don't know how to spell it phonetically. The "tree" part is more of a "taare" sound.

My bad I was just brain storming after seeing all the stuff Gideon was packing. If I can I would like to say he has that 70 of rope than. Smendor's rope was burnt in the spider hole.

I'll pronounce it on skype for you if you want, but I can't hang around long. Heading to the movies soon.

"Hmmm... not bad names, not bad at all... but how about Brett... and Company...?"

"I LIKE it..."says Tess gaily... "It has a certain... something... about it..."she adds with nod, then rolls her eyes and shakes her head as if to say "Are you kidding me?"

Ariarh rolls her eyes, too, but laughs out aloud. Typical Brett, she thinks to herself, with a smile.

It's a sign of welcome. When they come it will become their homeland. Its a new homeland, if you will. Something worth fighting for.

(Pa trrea ah) strong accent on the "Pa." That's the best way to spell it phonetically I can come up with. On a side note I intend to incorporate Portuguese into my spellcasting to add flavor. I just like how it sounds.

"Kidding aside, mates... aren't we putting our horse before the dinner table? That is to say, we've got big plans here, but if we don't get the particular's hashed out, it's a little off to argue over names when we ain't even got back to Oleg's? And if we mark out terrain, what's to stop folk from riding in and taking it over? I mean to say... who else is out there? WE don't know! And you talk about having a town or something, but where? All I've seen out here is naked grass, and that bit of spider pit. Where you want to found a township? I'd like a bitty of safety; maybe some forests, or good places to grow crops, and possibly by the water. I like having a river run by it, or a lake. Fish make good food, and it helps for transport of goods and gear..."

Glancing at Tess with a sour look after her little "eye rolling" he adds...

"Well... we COULD call it "Bartleby Rowan... and FRIENDS"... see, because I mention the FRIENDS, we're all kind of in the same hat, eh?"

"Oh, and no to your suggestion of Bartleby Rowan and Friends." Ry shakes her head emphatically and gives Brett a look that is part amusement, part frustration.

The name debate, and much of the concepts therein, are good times. However, I know that many of us will be going out of town/being busy for the following few days due to holidays.

I will toss up a spoiler and that in the next "hex" you explore there will be some battle. That said, I want to get a new player locked in by that time, I also want us to all be present for it, since I anticpate some action.

That doesn't mean in the next few days stuff can't happen, 'cause it can. It just means that it will probably be social RP at best, though there MAY be other things happening too, because I am probably the only person that will be here all week as I don't take vacations except really once a year.

Anyway... I want to make that clear; I know we'll all be busy, but I want to make a plan for when we can all meet again for a big battle. The next real meeting will be settled around that sort of thing. So, can everyone toss up a time/date they are available for a big battle comming up? It will be a little too large for play by post, sadly.

okay, that's all for this post... but I will be adding more in a minute...

Brett sticks out his tongue at Ariarh and turns away. Even as he does that, Dior cooly saunters toward Brett, turns slightly and lifts his hind leg... urinating in his general direction, than saunters off with a huff.

You can hear Ariarh's bright laughter ringing across the way.

Flash forward... or back to present...

Smendor and Gideon have decided to turn in, and Brett has proposed that someone comes hunting with him. Anyone interested?

Arairh says yes, she looks to see if someone else wants to go to...

I'm trolling from my iPhone while at dinner. I'll be around some Sunday and Monday. No big plans here. Other than that business as usual Tuesday.

"I'd love to go to... hunting... but I am still rather ill. Perhaps it would be best to simply get the camp settled with Tess, then turn in for a full nights bed-rest with Smendor? Then we can, with hope, awake in the morning fully rested and refreshed."Alaric adds, with a little shudder as he wraps his blanket around his shoulders. He will go with Tess to help set up a four person tent. The rain seems to have passed, but it does seem rather cold out...

The horse are gathered and brought under the eaves of the outcrops of the rock as Brett watches for a moment, then looks back at Ariarh...

"Well, lass, looks like it's you and me..."he says with grin as he hops on his mount and tacks out for the plains.

"And, Dior." Ry is atop her horse, Tal, with Dior sitting before her, his expression eager, predatory.

Brett keeps his eyes open, and decides that he will be "assisting" Ariarh in her chances at tracking game.

Aid In Survival...

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Brett also knows that the rain must have long passed over them to the north, for he can see signs of it miles away; looks like it is dumping its usual deluge in the grasslands near Oleg.

He glances at Ariarh

"Well, lass, have ye found anything?"

There seems to be a dice bug... it first showed a 17, now it shows a 13, I don't know why, or what is going on... Paizo is being dumb... but it won't matter anyway...because SOMEONE got a nat 20

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

If we are talking something big I will not be around until Tuesday. sure I may drop in for something but it i will only be a very short stop.

Ariarh looks around for a moment...

"Well, based on a cursory examination of the lands... I would say... there seems to be some game not but 187 paces, north by north west... of course this is divined by the metalic smell of blood on the air which is carried by headwinds comming toward us... The faintness of the blood suggests it is that particular distance and..."she pauses to open her mouth and "taste" the air as she sticks out her tongue "the flavor is consistent with warm blooded animals... and I detect a distinct fold on thes blades of grass that appear to be made of hoofs... small ones, hardly larger then two fingers, this is consistent with small hooves... Hmmm... I would guess an elk is therefore most likely been recently killed not far over the hills, but I hear no sign of predators, which makes me believe that our mounts have scared them off... "she turns to look at Brett.

"Sorry I couldn't provide any more information, just the luck of the fates on that account, I'd guess,"she adds with a shy shrug.

Brett merely gapes at her, then shakes his head. Considering this for a moment, he looses his musket and cocks back it's hammer, and hops off Stybba and decides to move up the hill on his belly, so as not to startle any predators into attacking. He motions to Ariarh to follow suit, even as Dior does; worming his little frame on his belly up the grassy knoll.

Ry turns quietly to her horse, Tal, and commands him to stay.

Handle animal check : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Tal stays put.

Ry calls up as quietly as possible to Brett,

"Brett, will Stybba stay put or do I need to secure him?"

"Brett, will Stybba stay put or do I need to secure him?"

Brett suggests that you secure him with signs and motions, than suggests you move up here as quick as pass; again, with signs and motions.

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)
Dain GM wrote:

Ariarh gently but swiftly hobbles Stybba's feet so he doesn't ride away if spooked etc. She unsheathes her dagger and moves to the ground and starts to follow Brett and Dior, crawling on her belly up the grassy knoll.

Upon reaching the crest of the hill you look down into a rocky valley. The rocks are laying scattered about in dirt and gravel, not unlike the same area in which you found the mine.

But toward the lower end of the gravely valley (that is, the one closest to you), you see a wounded and panting elk. It's body seems like it is ripped open near the ribs, and from this distance it seems like it bleeding out. It's left foreleg has been torn off, and seems to be missing altogether...

This is an odd prediciment. For if the creature lives, then where did it's predator go? For it must have left quickly, as you have just arrived and the elk itself has not even finished its death rattle.

Brett turns to Ariarh...

"Odd enough.."he whipsers. "Well, it be hot meat, to be sure, but I dunno... doesn't feel right... what do you want to do?"

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

"I think I should get Dior to fly overhead and see if he can spot any predator. It is strange to me that a bloodied fallen creature has been left like that. The griffon may not be able to talk but if there IS something out there other than the fallen elk, he can warn us with sound."

Because Paizo is stupid, let's settle this on Skype, with the exception of rolls...

Brett's Ini...

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

For Ariarh: Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

For Dior: Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Between Ariarh and Brett the gravel seems to bubble and crack... in a sudden move a huge beast the size of a horse barrels upwards... It's face a hiddeous set of picners which attepm to grapple into Ariarh...

Ankheg Ini...

1d20 ⇒ 15

Dior attacks the creature with his tiny fists (claws?) of fury…

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Bite Damage
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Claw attack
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Claw Damage
1d4 + 1d6d1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + (6, 20) + 2 = 32

Claw Damage
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

FYI the codes I typed didn't post right, again...

but here is the thing, Dior hits the first attack for 4 points of damage with the bite, and it looks like the second atack was 20, so that's another four points

Total of 8 points of Damage.

Ankeg rebuts on dior...

Claw attack on Griffon...

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Damage IF hits

2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 = 11

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Ariarh casts the Entangle Spell and casts it at a radius that hits the Ankheg but not Brett or herself.

Reflex save vs. Entangle...

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Brett makes his attack... at 25 feet from this thing's bum, Brett is using sneak attack with range, as the creature doesn't seem to be aware that he is there...

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

If he hits...

2d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 2) + (3) = 8

The Ankeg has now lost 16 points of damage. He attacks Ariarh with an acid spray from its ichorous fangs...

To hit

1d20 ⇒ 1 to Hit ariarh flat footed he needs a 12.

IF he hits, Ariarh needs a Reflex save vs. 14... or she takes

4d4 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 2) = 11

Reflex Succeed means she only takes half...
