Arasmes ibn'Fayad |

Arasmes casts grease on the ground under the charging creature attempting to stop it's movement. DC18 reflex or fall. If it attempts to move through the grease it needs to make an acrobatics check DC10 or lose its move. If it loses by 5 or more it falls. So basically it needs to make 2 checks first reflex then if it moves. Best I can do with my last spell.

Wait - quick questions -
1. Where do you put the radius of the spell?
2. What is the radius of the spell?
In other words - can the creature run around it?

Would the creature see the grease in the dark as it's madly charging and fending off attacks? I mean it can't politely stop or slow down to swerve the grease ...

Fair enough - I didn't know how close it would be when the spell struck - in other words - the creature takes up roughly 20x20 feet - if it collapsed - could it reach the building with its 15 foot reach? It depends on where it would fall over...

Of course he made his Fort save ... who would have doubted it. ;p

one it can't do that unless it stops charging and two because it is gargantuan it technically has to move through it regardless because it is a 10' cube if i put it directly underneath it. Once it is underneath it any way it moves will trigger the acrobatics check because of its size.
Gotcha!
Well - in either case - it seems that it has run through the Grease successfully.

I thought that was inside - as it was raining outside - this is important - because if you are outside - the creature will be attacking you, Arasmes and - potentially - Anaitis... would you have had that conversation outside in the rain, or inside?

Isani Isu |

This is frustrating. How would we have seen the charging dire croc if we were all inside the house at the time? If that's where everyone was, then that is where Isani is also. Right now I'm clueless as to location. So, Isani is indoors. Then I suppose her scimitar attack is nullified if he slams the house down around us.

1. Isani could have moved outside, if she chose to. She had the time to do so, if she preferred, and may have done so, if she wanted. I honestly didn't know - which is why I asked.
2. This is the description I wrote earlier - I hope it helps set the stage a bit better...
From Brett's posting earlier
Brett continues to speak to himself then prods the fire, and soon the cheery blaze warms the place - even as the rain patters on the stone roof...
A sudden noise startles him, and he leaves the fire to move to glance at the window - what he sees makes him cry out in horror!
"Gods damn it all! It's the bloody croc - and it's charging this way!" he cries out, rushing for his musket and pistols and then hurrying to the window.
There are several windows - and you are currently behind a stone wall - there is a heavy wooden door, and four windows that flank the door - 2 on each side of the door - they provide cover. You believe that the croc could possibly smash through the wall - and, if it does - it will bring down the roof and possibly crush all inside. However - you have ranged weapons - and the croc took some damage - you have a chance to take a few shots - the croc is on the beach - and is currently 150 feet from the stone house.

Dain GM |

No worries - the Croc needs to make a "Strength Check" to smash down the wall...
For now I am going to assign the walls DC to be = Breaking down an Iron Gate (DC 28 via Strength Check).
If the Croc succeeds - the roof will collapse on all - including the croc - and all will suffer 5d6 damage - Reflex save for half - DC = 10 + damage done.
Strength Check -
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
If he succeeds - the roof collapses and you all take -
5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 4, 6) = 26 damage -
Reflex Save DC 36 for half damage...
The croc fails to smash the wall down...
It fails - and instead damages the wall itself...
Hardness 8 - total damage needed (90) -
Damage Done: 3d6 + 13 ⇒ (2, 4, 6) + 13 = 25
Second attack to wall -
4d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3) + 6 = 17
Total damage to the wall...
26/90 done - the wall is considered 1 foot masonry...
The creature is outside the wall - raging heavily - it's your move!

Dain GM |

Why haven't we run out of the building and away from charging croc? I mean ... it makes sense not to be trapped in a possible demolished building...
It is your move - the only door faces the beach - you can run out it - but you would run into the croc - you could have run out sooner, though... but many of you have used the building as cover - the croc is not able to attack you - until it can smash down the wall - you have your move...
By the way - the croc is very nearly dead...

He totally did - your combined total brought the croc down to 1 HP... If the croc goes - he will be able to try to "Swallow hole" anyone near the wall... if someone can't hit him for 1 HP...

Ariarh watches the flames, lost in the blaze and death screams of the creature. They barely escaped this one and the night had been heavy and long and hardly any sleep was to be had. They needed to rest, most especially the arcane spellcasters.
Turning to her companions, "Is everyone alright? Anuk-su?" searching for her ward amongst the group.
"We need to determine the extent of damage done to the building and if it is safe to stay within its walls."

Ras looks at Brett and Ry and can't help himself when he says Well normally Brett cooks dinner but Ariarh you put on quite a spread yourself. He says gesturing to the cooking crocodile.
Ry gives a tired chuckle, somewhat preoccupied at ensuring the building is sound after two hard knocks by the crocodile. "We were fortunate tonight", referring to their close call with the charging dire crocodile, "and lucky that Brett managed to see the charge and alerted us swiftly."
