someone takes lead you can debate along the way coming into what looks to be a dormitory with a dozen bedrolls occupy this large chamber, and a few pieces of crude wooden furniture have been set up between them—a couple of scavenged chairs, a bench, and a short table. Torches mounted on brackets in each wall burn merrily.
Off to the side is another room. This room smells strongly of rats—a mix of spoiled food, dander, and the pungent sting of rat feces, all under an incongruous scent of lavender. A blanket has been spread on the floor, and a recovered antique brass platter holds a few bits of rat-gnawed food.
That finishes the northern section.

The only unexplored area on here is the small room you just past by which appears to be a common hall.
Two tables of planks and trestles have been set up in here, and a large alcove holds the ashes and soot stains of many recent fires, along with a stone statue of a beautiful woman wielding a ranseur. A hooded lantern burns atop one of the tables.

A massive pair of double doors dominates the western end of this spearhead-shaped chamber. These doors are made of a silvery metal decorated with images of burning eyes that look inward toward two sets of runes carved onto the face of each door. The walls bear the remains of complex mosaics that once covered much of them, but which has crumbled and collapsed in heaps of colored tiles and debris around the edges of the room. These double doors are stone sheathed in a layer of hot siccatite. The tiles on the doors bear Thassilonian runes in a pattern.
Does anyone have Thassilonian as a language, if not use Linguistics DC 13, or INT DC 16

            Marduk studies the door.
Int: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
But shakes his head and shrugs.
The monkey on his shoulder...
Int: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Chatters excitedly and dances back and forth.

Markus watches his monkey's movements for a moment before slapping his paw.
"Bad Grigo! No touching!"

Markus retrieves a bit of tied parchment and unfurls it.
After reading a quick spell off of the scroll, he studied the letters.
"There are letters here but I don't know what to spell..."
Are there any clues in the room?

            Ayaki thinks and then speaks
If you move the letters of The_eyes you can change it to They_See. That makes some sense to me. Listen easily becomes silent, Grandfather played games like this with me as a child, but they are much harder in the Tien language.
With that Ayaki begins moving letters, 5 points of damage from rearranging the letters in Listen leaving only the I in place, and 4 points of damage from moving the letters Y _ S E in the other word.
damage 9 = 9

Ayaki looks down towards the floor thinking about his being unable to read the language initially.
"Thank you for your compliments comrades, you are both very kind."
Ayaki looks up hoping that his letter moving initiated something.

Several pieces of furniture decorate this room, the modern
furnishings clashing with the ancient carvings of Thassilonian
wizards crafting deformed monsters from dead bodies
decorating the walls. Luxurious crimson Varisian drapes have
been pinned up in an archway to the southeast.
