The robe is magical it appears to be a robe of needles. Nothing else is actually magical in and of itself, the vials are not potions.
Dwalindor however finds a battered singed book that appears to be a diary of some sorts.
The battered journal isn't too hard to decipher - it appears to be a diary. It details the travails of a mumia-dealing ghast dealing with the high-pressure job of dealing a narcotic in the city of Wati.
In the middle of it he describes the terror of being turned into a ghast and his annoyance at the rise of the undead. He also mentions a lot of activity from gold-masked freaks around the Sepulcher of the Servant muscling out the higher class criminal classes in the Necropolis.
| Takara Sawalha |
Damn class levels!
"Interesting... Could this all just be the work of the ghast? Does anyone know what this mumia substance is or does?" Takara asks around as she reads the journal.
"Ah! We should investigate the Sepulcher next for these mysterious gold-masked individuals. I bet they have some knowledge for us." the sorceress concludes.
Unless there are objections, Takara will lead the party to the Sepulcher.

Mumia is a drug which ______________. does whatever it does. At least that is what Shad says it is.
Sepulcre is fine.
Then he digs the CLW out of the party supplies and uses it

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Dwslindor nods at the seplicher and holds his hand out for the wand after Thorpe.
"Dibs on next. At least Mr Ghast took alot of notes."

Clw : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Finally a solid clue, lets check the Sepulcher.

marked 6 charges off the party wand.
Dwalindor will follow along on the way to the next destination, having stow his waraxe and recovered Lucy from the prior room.
"So Tamara, what exactly is the difference between a sepulcher, a tomb and a crypt?"
| Takara Sawalha |
"Ostensibly, a sepulcher is a small monument or room dedicated to the dead, while a tomb would be for a large room or monument, usually underground. Crypt is nearly interchangeable with tomb, however a crypt is also usually associated with a church or chapel nearby." Takara explains, glad to share her area of expertise.
"That being said, most are used interchangeably nowadays." Takara says with a sigh. "Such is the plight of the erosion of language."
"I would not be surprised if this sepulcher is larger than what the word originally intended, especially if men can be seen moving to and from in large numbers." she comments as they make their way.

Mumia is an addictive drug normally used as a curative. The downside is it can turn you into a ghoul after prolonged ingestion - the alchemy lab shows traces, but only a few traces of the drug.
Time for a level up! Level 6 for all of you, then you get to enter the Sepulcher.
Legends say Nefru Shepses created the Sepulcher of the Servant - a palatial tomb that he hid it away to protect himself and his descendants from reprisal from the cult of Lamashtu. Over time the location leaked out, supposedly protected by psychopomps and other servants of the Goddess of Death from desecration. It was originally intended as a resting place for the most loyal servants of Pharasma, but with the Shepses line dominating the church for the next 500 years, the site instead became a family tomb, eventually housing the remains of even those relatives unaffiliated with the church. The doors are of sturdy bronze and people say they are usually unlocked - waiting for more family members to be interred at any time.

Takara feels her power surge as they travel onward and suddenly a few other spells in her spellbook begin to make sense to her. "Guys, I think I know how to make you faster in combat..."

Assuming we will rendevous with any new members and wishing Takara best of luck.
Takara, will be right behind you. Although I may need to pick up a thing or two. Scout ahead if you think we are too slow. :-)
Dwalindor checks to see if there is any place to actually buy some gear
or are we really mid-stride and away from any shops?
| Thorrpe |
i think we are kind of mid stride. if not i can calculate the wealth...actually if we have someone knew coming in at the new level i should probably go ahead and do that.
I know how to scout. I am almost as good as Shad is Lindy!
| Takara Sawalha |
Takara's eyes roll into the back of her head as she starts to convulse mid-sentence. She falls to the ground in a heap. As quick as it occurred, it is over.
"I must take my leave. Don't look for me." she says hurriedly as she stands and runs without care for her life.
Can you remove me from the player list, DMummy? Thanks! :D

Suddenly a beam of light streams from the sky and touches the ground next to the group. When it vanishes, a rather worn out, hunchbacked fellow is standing there blinking. Wow, when the priest said he could get me out quick, he wasn't kidding. He notices the group and waves. Hullo.
| Thorrpe |
Thorrpe yelps and makes as if he is hiding behind a person.
Protect me Shad!
He peeks over the shoulder no one else can see.
Hi. Are you here to take me away from Shad?
| Noonan3 |
Um..No, not going to take anyone anywhere. Name's Noonan, I was whisked away from my former master by a priest I did some favors for. Trust me, being a pet healer for a sultan isn't that fun when you are still sleeping in the storeroom.
| Thorrpe |
Thorpe walks up to him and sniffs. So are you here to help us conquer evil! Do you wanna be part of the Maze Minders? IF so yo have to ask that big dwarf there. He likes to be called Lindy, and he likes to hop around a lot. But he is the boss so he has to let you join if you wanna join.
Then he gestures next to him
This is my best friend Shad, he is shy, but very powerful.
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
"Well, who are you again? Some priest sent ya here by a beam of dang light? Whats wrong with walking anymore? Well, now that yer here, we are in need of a healer. Not for me so much. Sometimes I get hurt. Ok a few times. Just watch out for Shad here. I still ain't none too sure what his deal is."
| Noonan3 |
Noonan. Well I used to be a healer slave to some noble, they figure dout I was pretty good at healing and kept me around to keep the harem all nice and clean. *ahem* Eventually they lent me out to others for favors, managed to get a number of favors for myself due to being so good at my job so a priest agreed to get me away for all the favors I built up. So here I am.
| Thorrpe |
absolutely. Also i think it got lost in the loss of Takara, do you have an issue with my taking major magic a second time?
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
all set here. Not seeing anything I want to buy with cash at hand yet.
| Thorrpe |
gotta go back and figure out which one. It will get a bump next level when I take bookish rogue and can swap them around
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
"Hey Noonan. Whatcha gots to know is I am the best diplomatick nogotiator for the Maze Minders.
Since I gots a way with words n all. Let me takes care of it. "
Dwalindor walks up to the Sepulcher door and knocks lightly with Lucy.
"Hello in there. We are out here and needs to talk to you...now."
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
"Ok, Thorpe. Time to earn your pay...else I use Amanda to open it."
| Thorrpe |
Shad says no reason to wake up Amanda, he is taking her to dinner later and he wants her fresh.
Thorrpe takes 10 for a 20 checking for traps with a quick once over then picks it or disables
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33 dd
| DMummy |
There aren't any traps on the door and as you move to unlock it, you realize it's unlocked - and open outward, so Dwalindor was simply forcing it shut, so Thorrpe has to pull it open so it wasn't warped into the frame.
Inside you see a small stone room and a spiral staircase leading below ground.
Who's going first?
| Thorrpe |
Thorrpe will sneak down the steps and do a little scouting, assume he is about 20 feet ahead of folks.
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 percep

Dwalindor will go second unless Albus would rather.
"Push or pull...who cares, Thorpe. The more important thing is that I totally wasted my eloguwnt speech on that door and nobody done heard it ."
| Thorrpe |
Just before Thorrpe moves ahead, Shad heard it Lindy. Shad heard it. He liked it, but is glad you didnt rob him of his night with Amanda
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
"What? Amanda spends her nights with me - next to my bed...er um bunk or whatever. Not with Shad. Right Amanda?"
Dwalindor pats the haft of his earthbreaker with affection.
| DMummy |
As you descend, the spiraling stairway from above terminates in a vaulted chamber. Looming jackal-headed statuary, oversized pillars, and a long reflecting pool lend a grandiose scale to the room.
Hieroglyphs cover the white marble walls, describing the Shepses family’s history and the life of Nefru Shepses—his divine inspiration to join Pharasma’s faith, the creation of the necropolis, and his restoration of Wati. Continual flames light the room in almost daylight conditions.
A thin layer of sand covers the bottom of the reflecting pool, but Thorrpe spies some bronze bracers and thirty silver rods covered in funereal symbols.
| Thorrpe |
Thorrpe pulls out a copper coon and tosses it into the water to see what happens, the he hits the room w detect magic and casts shield

Dwalindor grips Lucy tightly as he watches Thorpe.
"Expecting trouble? Or causing it.." the last comment with a wry grin.
He peers around looking for signs of movement or hidden areas.

Why in heaven's name would you have a copper racoon and why would you be throwing it about?
The bronze bracers shine with magic, as do the continual flames - you detect no other magic in sight that you're not carrying.
