Esteriande d'Litran |

Esteriande nods and follows Muchorak as quietly as she may.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
close to the top she moves into a crouch, then peeks over the edge quickly to scan the room beyond before ducking back out of sight.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Alisebett |

Not fully understanding Romon's gestures, Aliwolf nevertheless looks up and continues uses her senses to take in as much information as she can.
As she does, she pads after Big Bear up the stairs.
Lunas enters and follows after her.
Stealth:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22(+10 for smell)
Lunas Stealth:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Inikai |

Something dangerous up above, something that bites or snatches is all Inikai can glean from Romon's gesture. He does not like the idea of a threat from overhead. Better to face enemies that stand on the same level he thinks. But all the same, he follows the others inside.

Romon |

Romon watches Esteriande and Muchorak climb the stairs. Be careful, Ester. He's trying out pet names in his mind.
Lamashta's deformities! We should have turned off the machines downstairs. That would have brought them to us. At least one of them. Oh well,

Esteriande d'Litran |

Assuming no further holes in the ceiling, Esteriande beckons to Romon and Muchorak and points to the far door in 03.07, to which she moves quietly, standing to one side in 13.08 with her long, curved blade ready, grateful of the noise of the machines to mask her less stealthy comrades.

Esteriande d'Litran |

Pausing a moment, Esteriande steps over to the opening in the floor and leans over, beckoning to the others to come up, but placing a finger over her lips to indicate they should stay as silent as they can. Then she steps back to the door and gestures to Romon, pointing at the door. She mimes it opening, then points at Muchorak and herself and motioning they should go through.
Charades, anyone?

Inikai |

Pausing a moment, Esteriande steps over to the opening in the floor and leans over, beckoning to the others to come up, but placing a finger over her lips to indicate they should stay as silent as they can. Then she steps back to the door and gestures to Romon, pointing at the door. She mimes it opening, then points at Muchorak and herself and motioning they should go through.
Inikai nods to convey that he understands and makes his way as quietly as he can. Nervous sweat begins to pour from his head; he has never been the stealthiest of men.
Stealth
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
He steps heavily and loudly, almost a stomp. Immediately he freezes and hopes that the noisy motors turning below will have muffled his clumsy footfall. Or perhaps they will think it was one of the workmen just doing his job down here.
Damned scat and maternal coitus! I have ruined our chances.

DM Wellard |

Despite Inikai's clumsiness there doesn't seem to be any reaction from the men next door.
Romon moves up and grasps the door handle..he grins at Esteriande, holds up three fingers and mimes a countdown before yanking the door open .
This large storeroom is filled with stacks of timber, firewood, and other finished lumber products waiting for shipment. A network of pulleys on tracks covers the ceiling, ropes dangling here and there to aid in the shifting of inventory as needed. Machinery churns along the south wall, while nearby two chutes fitted with winches allow lumber to be hauled up from the holding pools below. Four openings in the ceiling lead to the upper floor; chutes extend through each of these from the room above. Under each opening is a collection bin.
6 men look up from their work. They are in 01.10, 02.08, 02.09, 04.10, 06.07 and 06.12
Complete Surprise. The men here do not get an action in the surprise round. Please note that as the entire area is full of lumber the whole room counts as difficult terrain
Ali 25
Esteriande 22
Muchorak 18+
Naria 18
Romon 17
Marak 12
Inakai 8

Alisebett |

As more enemies appear Aliworld and Lunas slip past their packmates to flank one of the two legs, their jaws opening to attack.
doesn't really matter which one, I guess the farthest one their 50' move will let them get to through difficult terrain.

Esteriande d'Litran |

Esteriande hesitates long enough for her senses to register the ill in the men or not use detect evil before moving smoothly into position 03.08 to threaten the foe before her in 02.08 but withholds her strike.
"You 'ave been discovered, and zose of you zat 'ave resisted are already no more - eet ees your choice if you join zem," she delivers the ultimatum quite calmly.

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Muchorak will move to 04.08 giving him a 5ft gap between both of his nearest enemies and preventing Esteriande from being flanked.
Sensing his companions situation Ursus proceeds to the top of the steps.

Esteriande d'Litran |

These men all register as faintly evil. The detect takes 2 rounds to register so Esteriande won't be moving till round 1.
No probs, although circumstances between now and then may change that withheld strike to a non-withheld strike ... we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Inikai |

Once again Inikai's reflexes fail him and he is a step behind the others as they burst into the room. He takes up a position near the wall 1.09 in order to cut off escape routes for their foes. He begins to use the power of Andras to force one of the enemies to attack an ally, but he stops himself and waits to see if Esteriende's words have any effect.

Romon |

Romon smiles wonderingly at Esteriande's parley. She doesn't think her sword can solve every problem. Unlike some.
Romon holds his dagger with hsi wrist crooked to keep the blade flat against his inner forearm and shielded from view as he strides toward the center of the room.
Sleight of Hand to conceal the dagger 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 = 17. Walk as far into the room as possible. (03.10?) He's planning on using surprise plus his high initiative to get behind the men before they're ready to fight.

Esteriande d'Litran |

Alisebett |

Already sure of the evil of their foes from the overwhelming scent of it pouring off of them Aliwolf and Lunas attack their flanked prey.
Ali Attack & Damage:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 121d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Lunas Attack & Damage: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Plus Trip:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Muchorak "Windstriker" |

Confused and yet impressed by the small ones eagerness to join battle the Shoanti feels she will help the enemy find his peace; besides Wolfspirit and Lunas are there as well.
Muchorak moves to 05.08 unleashing his full fury on 06.07
Longsword 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 for damage
Longsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 for damage

Romon |

Romon grits his teeth and draws his breath in with a hiss. It looks like there's nothing for it but a fight now. "I do apologize. My friends are so hasty," he mumbles as he sidesteps toward one of Inikai's foes.
He whirls off his cloak and flicks the free end toward his chosen target while his dagger extends from its hidden position along his forearm into an underhand fighting position. He lunges.
step to 02.11. attack 01.10
Dagger 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 ..damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
"You do probably deserve it though. They are very discriminating and perceptive."
Maybe not the best time to ask, but how is Ali getting an iterative attack?

![]() |

Marak attempts to brain the man between himself and Inikai 02.09 with his morningstar.
morningstar, +2 for flanking 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
wow, even if he's still flat-footed, Marak may have missed...
bludgeoning/piercing damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Romon |

...
wow, even if he's still flat-footed, Marak may have missed...
bludgeoning/piercing damage 1d8+1
Ooooo! If they're still flat-footed Romon gets sneak attack damage.
If the 18 hit add 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6) = 13

Alisebett |

Esteriande d'Litran |

Esteriande realises that if we are to get further without them raising the alarm, she must strike - and to register as evil, the men must have performed heinous deeds indeed. The cult of Norbigar delights in the destruction of beauty ...
She strikes:
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

DM Wellard |

Esteriande cuts down the man in 02.08. Naria blasts the one in 02.09 with Magic Missiles but he remains standing for the moment.
In response the two men on their feet slip the strange masks over their heads and draw their razors. The one in 02.09 reaches out towards Marak the other over in the corner begins chanting and a swirling black and red cloud of energy gathers around him then blasts out engulfing you all as he laughs maniacally . The prone man tries to protect himself from the combined attacks off the two wolves but his efforts are hampered by his being prone..when the evil force rolls over him his movements lessen(staggered)The man in 02.09 falls to the ground unconcious.
02.09 touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
06.12. Channel negative Energy 1d6 ⇒ 6
See these guys are CE..and crazy

Romon |

Are these the same one-eyed masks?
Will save 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 I was thinking it's 1 in 3 I'd fail the save. Maybe they're not so crazy.
Romon falters as the red and black energy streams by. He breathes in pain and weakness and something ... just ... nasty. Then the power is gone and he looks at the closest foe with anger in his eyes.
"What in Gozreh's green earth was that? Who are you people?"
Waiting to see if there's any foes left on Romon's turn.

Alisebett |

Ali Will save:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Lunas Will save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
As the foul energy washes over them Aliwolf and Lunas growl viciously, their natural tenacity aiding them in resisting is full effect. Yet still the very evil of it causes Aliwolf, with her sensitive nose, to sneeze in response.
Not that it's important at all Wellard, but I'm just curious as to the mechanism on how these baddies can pull on their masks, draw the razors and perform standard actions. Is it not only possible to draw weapons for free as part of a move action? Or does putting on the mask qualify as a move action for that purpose?
PS Waiting for Iniaki's action to be resolved before having Ali and Lunas go again.

DM Wellard |

Putting on the mask is a free action.. its just a case of rolling it down over their heads.I accept that they couldn't have drawn their razors this round.
Cultist will save vs Inikai 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 fail
Inikais target staggers slightly then turns towards the man between the wolves.
chances are he and his target will be dead before they can act anyway

Inikai |

Inikai grimaces and makes and unitelligble grunt when he feels the spellcaster's power. There is nothing to do but resist it through sheer determination. Are they having a conversation as they fight?
Will Save1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Romon |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Will save vs. negative energy. 1d20+11
"Servants of Father Skinsaw, god of red-handed murder, to be precise." Marak says in a cold tone in response to Esteriande's comment.
Romon totals up the body count. "Not very good servants, are they?"

Ahhhhhhh hahahahahaha! You are the best, the best bro.

Romon |

We're at the top of the order, yes? I'm betting Romon won't have to strike again but if there's an enemy standing who is not engaged in melee. Romon advances toward them and heaves his dagger.
Thrown dagger 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 .. damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 did not add in point blank shot or range penalties
Visiting my parents this weekend. Leaving friday afternoon. (Very little internet) DMPC Romon as needed.
