Romon stashes the war razor and the cash. The mask he keeps in hand as he follows the others up the stairs. Settling down behind the others during the inevitable pause when they reach the top of the stairs, he turns the mask over in his hands and gently flexes it inside out. He starts to raise it over his head, then pulls it down in front of him again to look at it again. Why are these a#+#!+~s taking time to put these on? It can't be cause they're the cool club ensignia. These things are gross.

Aliwolf and Lunas launch themselves at their foe, flanking him to take him down all the quicker.

Before the men can even begin to react to your presence Ali and Lunas have taken one( in 26.07) down and out.His cry echoes through the room before.

The other two are in 23.11 and 27.09

Esteriande moves into the room, scanning with her ability to detect evil, readying an action to attack should the true master of the cult appear from any of the small rooms she can see.

there is evil here..and it's concentrated beyond the double doors..(funnily enough Esteriandes detect does work through walls..well wooden ones this thin anyway.)

The cry of the man upstairs decides Romon. He pulls on the mask and heads upstairs.

"Don't be stupid. Surrender or die!" Inikai yells to the remaining men. He holds his sword at the ready and waits for their responses.


Romon..

Pulling on the mask you find your mind filling with thoughts of bloodshed and murder..you see your companions ahead every bit of exposed flesh glows with the living blood and it is almost as if you can see each blood vessel.You can sense the fear of the men above you hear their hearts pounding as they make ready to oppose you.

These enhancements grant a +2 competence bonus on Perception checks made against creatures that aren’t immune to fear. Further, the ability to see so plainly the map of a target’s arteries and veins grants the wearer a +1 profane bonus on damage with slashing weapon attacks made against living creatures. Wearing a skinsaw mask leaves hideous mental scars; when the mask is donned, the wearer takes 1 point of Charisma damage as his thoughts become tangled with images of murder.

..I knew you were going to put the mask on eventually.Evil DM chuckle

Hearing the sounds of battle, Romon whips out his short sword while he charges eagerly up the stairs after his comrades. His dagger is already in his other hand.

Inwardly, Romon reels between revulsion and a macabre fascination with the images and feelings that the mask imparts. Part of him wants to rip the mask away, but another revels in the increased sensitivity and perception. Is this what animals feel? He can't help himself. As he draws closer to the fight, his excitement mounts, a giddy sensation of power and the anticipation of bloodshed. The blood of men who deserve to die.

Some one bounds up the stairs with drawn blades..he is wearing a Mask like the cultists.

Inkikai raises his sword to attack when he sees the mask but holds himself back when he recognizes Romon's distinctive armor as well and weapons. What in the Hells is he thinking? In the confusions we might well have attacked him. He is out of his mind.

The irony of a man who draws on universally condemned beings for his power calling another man insane is lost on Inikai.

What square did we enter the room from? I am assuming that with Inikai can cross the distance and attack once due to the benefit of Naria's haste spell.

Muchorak moves, 24.10, and strikes at the foe there...

Longsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 to hit and 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 for damage

Keeping pace with his companion Ursus also moves, 23.10, and strikes out at the man with a claw...

Claw 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 and 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 for damage

Inikai lets out a loud expletive when the maniac slashes him with the razor. He steps back in a defensive posture and runs his hand over his belly where the razor caught him. Blood covers his hand and burning pain shoots through his torso. Inikai grits his teeth and holds his swordarm outstretched and looks for an opening in his foe's defenses.

I'll be going as far into the room as Wellard will let me go. Not sure how far my late start puts me behind you all. Romon heads for the nearest enemy. Prefereably to a flanking position.

"It's me, Naria," Romon snarls as he rushes by. He leaps forward toward the enemy cultists in a skipping, leapfrog gate.

Wellard, adding to the last post. Again, I don't know how far behind the others I am. Romon is keen to help end this fight. He'd prefer to get to a sneak attack position if possible, but if he can't he will attack te most convenient cultist. I will leave it to you to assign him a square.

Acrobatics to go places safely 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 .. damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 if Sneak attack applies add 2 to hit and 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1) = 13 to damage.

Romon makes it to 22.12 and along with Ursas fells the cultist in that corner of the room.

As far as I was aware we were still on the surprise round or round #1. If we are into round #2 ...

Esteriande approaches the door and throws it open, weapon ready.


You are met with a small office only some 10 feet square into which are crammed a desk, chair, bookcase and a bed.The only window in the entire building looks down over the island and it is open with a rope hanging from the sill..

Inikai is too slow to stop Naria from entering the room. He can only shout "remember the barghest!" But Naria was not with them for that meeting...

Still clad in the mask and groaning as he breathes, Romon steps into the middle of the room and scans the walls and furnishings. He touches the bed then strides to the chair and feels it too. Finally he goes to the window. He's looking for any signs of the occupant or clear evidence of his exit.
