Gabriel strikes the vampire heavily, but does not get hold of his foe... who reacts by lunging at the tiny warrior...
Grapple: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25

Vesta Shadowbane |

Vesta moves 25 feet up and casts a Targeted Dispel Magic on the Mhorg
CL check 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Edit: ^^BLAM^^
I'm a little confused by the wording of the Pathfinder version of Dispel Magic. it says "compare (your dispel roll) to the spell with the highest caster level," but assuming the Mhorg casts all his own protections this morning they would all have the same CL. Older version used to say you start with the highest level spell and work down. DM's call, but if you could clarify how it work's that's be much appreciated. Given the option I'd like to bring him back to the ground.
Dispel Magic
School: abjuration
Level: bard 3, cleric 3, druid 4, paladin 3, sorcerer/wizard 3, summoner 3, witch 3, inquisitor 3, antipala, magus 3
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Components: V, S
Range: medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Targets: one spellcaster, creature, or object
Duration: instantaneous
Saving Throw: none
Spell Resistance: no
You can use dispel magic to end one ongoing spell that has been cast on a creature or object, to temporarily suppress the magical abilities of a magic item, or to counter another spellcaster's spell. A dispelled spell ends as if its duration had expired. Some spells, as detailed in their descriptions, can't be defeated by dispel magic. Dispel magic can dispel (but not counter) spell-like effects just as it does spells. The effect of a spell with an instantaneous duration can't be dispelled, because the magical effect is already over before the dispel magic can take effect.
You choose to use dispel magic in one of two ways: a targeted dispel or a counterspell.
Targeted Dispel: One object, creature, or spell is the target of the dispel magic spell. You make one dispel check (1d20 + your caster level) and compare that to the spell with highest caster level (DC = 11 + the spell's caster level). If successful, that spell ends. If not, compare the same result to the spell with the next highest caster level. Repeat this process until you have dispelled one spell affecting the target, or you have failed to dispel every spell.
For example, a 7th-level caster casts dispel magic, targeting a creature affected by stoneskin (caster level 12th) and fly (caster level 6th). The caster level check results in a 19. This check is not high enough to end the stoneskin (which would have required a 23 or higher), but it is high enough to end the fly (which only required a 17). Had the dispel check resulted in a 23 or higher, the stoneskin would have been dispelled, leaving the fly intact. Had the dispel check been a 16 or less, no spells would have been affected.
You can also use a targeted dispel to specifically end one spell affecting the target or one spell affecting an area (such as a wall of fire). You must name the specific spell effect to be targeted in this way. If your caster level check is equal to or higher than the DC of that spell, it ends. No other spells or effects on the target are dispelled if your check is not high enough to end the targeted effect.
If you target an object or creature that is the effect of an ongoing spell (such as a monster summoned by summon monster), you make a dispel check to end the spell that conjured the object or creature.
If the object that you target is a magic item, you make a dispel check against the item's caster level (DC = 11 + the item's caster level). If you succeed, all the item's magical properties are suppressed for 1d4 rounds, after which the item recovers its magical properties. A suppressed item becomes nonmagical for the duration of the effect. An interdimensional opening (such as a bag of holding) is temporarily closed. A magic item's physical properties are unchanged: A suppressed magic sword is still a sword (a masterwork sword, in fact). Artifacts and deities are unaffected by mortal magic such as this.
You automatically succeed on your dispel check against any spell that you cast yourself.
Counterspell: When dispel magic is used in this way, the spell targets a spellcaster and is cast as a counterspell. Unlike a true counterspell, however, dispel magic may not work; you must make a dispel check to counter the other spellcaster's spell.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

You can also use a targeted dispel to specifically end one spell affecting the target or one spell affecting an area (such as a wall of fire). You must name the specific spell effect to be targeted in this way.
That's the wording you're after I think - you can specifically dispel his flight spell.
It you didn't choose, then I'd start at the highest level spell and work down.

Ok, cool. In that case I'll specifically target the flight spell.

Vesta Shadowbane |

Vesta's arcane words have the desired effect and the mohrg plummets from the sky, the dweamor that sustained his flight vanishing.
4d6 falling damage
Vesta cocks her head slightly and gives him crazy eyes as he unceremonisously lands. She says, "B@#~+." very calmly as if it is his name.
No game mechanic, just for amusement.

Ignác Takács |

Might as well try and come down now. Ignac will jump off the rafter, taking probably about 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9= 0 damage, unless the ground is magical.
He will then try to make his way over to the battle.
Will save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
He is unsuccessful, however, and once he finds that he can not move forward, he unleashes a wave of electrical force at the wall in anger, just catching the two in E14 and E15.
Electricity, Reflex DC 21: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 5, 2, 4) = 22

Gabriel Helminth |

With nothing better to do, Gabriel pointedly ignores the spawn, and tumbles to a flank with Gathroc (Moving to H16), before continuing to pummel the vampire...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39.
+1 Ghost-touch Claw: 1d20 + 25 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 25 + 2 = 29, for 1d1 + 15 + 4 + 5d6 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 4 + (2, 1, 3, 5, 1) = 32 Magical Silver S/B damage + 5 Bleed.

As posted in OOC thread weekends are getting harder for me to post reliably.
And no - viciousness only applies to successful hits.
After Vesta causes the mohrg to drop to the ground, Ignac appears within the barn and sends a wave of electricity coursing over a pair of the spawn...
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 and 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
...though despite them being caught with the full force of the blast, their flesh resists it somewhat.
Gabriel spins his way past his foes into a more advantageous position before lashing out ineffectually against the vampire.
The vampire renews his defenses laughing "But why would I need to?" dancing lithely away from Gathroc...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39
...and beckoning him to follow.
Daemon delivers the charged spell into Gathroc - strengthening his form. No need for touch attack... but you did need a spell penetration roll to make it stick - which your roll would do handsomely
Gathroc up - you can keep the rolls and direct against the spawn if you wish? - or chase him?

If the spell succeeds, the subject must also make a Will save. If this
second save fails, the creature loses its extraordinary, supernatural,

Wisdom, and Charisma scores of its new form in place of its own. It
still retains its class and level (or HD), as well as all benefits deriving
therefrom (such as base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit

aren’t extraordinary, supernatural, or spell-like abilities.
Any polymorph e#ects on the target are automatically dispelled
when a target fails to resist the e#ects of baleful polymorph, and as
long as baleful polymorph remains in e#ect, the target cannot use
other polymorph spells or efects to assume a new form. Incorporeal

creature with the shapechanger subtype can revert to its natural
form as a standard action.
