Vesta Shadowbane |

Vesta's attempt to ingratiate herself meets upon a significant early barrier. As her wolf-flesh host draws near a couple of the group turn and bare teeth at her while growling menacingly. It would seem that the ones that departed are unwilling to increase the size of their group.
Vesta will act appropriately meek and go elsewhere.
::So much for that.::

Vesta Shadowbane |

::"Why not go invisible and trail them? They might smell you, but all they'll smell is one of their own. Without seeing you, they won't know who or what you are"
im unclear on the goal. Aren't we just waiting for the poison to kick in so we can mass murder?

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

To be honest the big guy leaving was meant to be a fairly obvious - look its a powerful were wolf we have a chance of killing... why dont we trail it, find out where it lives and then kill it in approximately 12 hours.
I'd thought I made that opening with a big neon sign, but apparently not... Apart from Vesta, everyone else is essentially being passive and waiting around...

Gabriel Helminth |

The problem, from Gabriel's perspective, is that he is really worried about the werewolves' ability to use Scent to track him; things could go south, very rapidly, if they noticed him. That is essentially why he does not want to do anything that could attract attention until it is time to make a move.

Gathroc The Betrayer |

Understood, but Gathroc wasn't sure what the big werewolf was off to go do. So, intelligence gathering. Remember, he was an elven general in life, so he's thinking liking a general. Aka, not rushing off to slaughter the enemy, in case he happens to group up with allies, has a magical way to leave, etc. I'm just trying to roleplay out how I view him being not cautious per se, but intelligent and strategic minded.
EDIT: Also did you not just say, "hey, let's trail that guy and find out where he lives so we can kill him later"....and is that not what I suggested Vesta go and do? Do all of us, including the not very sneaky Dullahan, need to go traipsing through the woods, or can I send the incredibly sneaky ghost to seek out the enemy's lair
I realize that sounds a little snarky, or annoyed, but I am trying to advance this, in apparently the exact same way you suggested.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

Indeed, Vesta has been acting to further the intent... But no one else has taken a tangible action since the hunt... Which implies that you are just standing around watching... Which would be just a tad suspicious no?
Plus I've made a couple of requests around what your daylight plans are to no answer.
Lastly, I was hoping for a little more than just let's stand around and wait to see who we kill.. Just think, if most of the werewolves are here ... Who is guarding the rest of their stuff?
Point taken that perhaps the set up was not the best, but despite Vesta's ease at stealth - it would be nice for events to be more inclusive... So it doesn't end up with an extended solo scout mission where everyone else is passive.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

One other point... Gabriel's telepathy only ranges out to 100ft. Just something to keep in mind.
The scent issue could be an advantage or disadvantage. Sure they might pick up a scent... On the other hand Gabriel leading them on a merry goose chase could certainly free up the rest of you to act more easily.

Gathroc The Betrayer |

Now that's a suggestion I would have made in character, but clearly didn't think of IRL, thanks Voice!
::"Gabe, while Vesta goes and does her thing, why don't you attempt to lure a good portion of these animals on a merry chase through the woods. This will allow the rest of us to ransack the village, perhaps destroying any weapons we come across and taking whatever we can for ourselves."

Daemon Son-of-none |

::Finally something to do, Let us all head back to the meat wagon as though getting ready for daylight conditions. The Morgh can stay there if it wishes since we don't want it turning on us mid fight, I don't much care if we leave Vesta's vampire body there or let it die in the sun. Then we can each go our separate ways to investigate. Also with the wolves chasing Gabriel all night after the hunt during the day they are likely to be exhausted as well as sick making them an even easier target.::
Prior to leaving I cast Air Walk on myself. duration 100min
After making preparations and listening to any other ideas that are suggested I turn invisible using my ring and stealthily make my way out the back of the wagon and then walk up into the sky about 80ft to do some investigating of my own.
Stealth1d20 + 26 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 26 + 20 = 61

I am looking for any indication of their dwelling area, lights from torches or bonfires or the like. Barring that I will go in the general direction of the pack that Vesta followed and look for them or a different target of opportunity.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

Vesta is able to trail the departing group from a discreet distance and finds that they end up stopping some distance away at a converted manor house of sorts. All windows are boarded over and the place has run down significantly with the garden overgrown and fences collapsed. However the residence itself is still holding its shape and form despite the wear. As you consider whether it is worth delving further within, a chance review with your arcane sight yield the presence of some subtle arcane warding... perhaps it would be wise to not attempt to breach until all of you were ready to act as one.
As the group withdraws nearer to the dawn, few of the lycanthropes pay you any mind... though you notice that the giant one's eyes track your departure. It's eyes are wary, though you do not notice anything that would move beyond normal suspicion of foreign parties nearby to his pack.
Daemon's aerial recon shows that there are only two main centers where there are signs of occupancy - the clearing where the hunt took place, and the manor house where the other group withdrew to. He spies an occasional sentry light or darkened house - but little else that betrays the presence of live prey.
Up to Gabriel when and to which group he'd like to act against.
I'd expect that essentially you intend to strike at the manor house group around dusk or so?

Vesta Shadowbane |

::"As soon as it gets dark, we should strike. Having the cover of the night may not hinder them, but it will surely aid us."
::As you wish. I can go first and let this body be torn apart. I'd rather be rid of it. The flesh is nice, but it does get inconvinient. ::

Gabriel Helminth |

I can arrange for a distraction to lead them on a merry chase; I have a swarm of children, which should be able to lead the rest of the pack away from what we are doing.
I would, however, appreciate the opportunity to replace them when we have finished here; nothing too drastic - a village-worth of children should suffice.
Essentially, Gabriel is offering to use his 'young crawling hand swarm' as a disposable distraction. The standard were-beasts will be able to do nothing to it, but I dare say there will be enough casters within the pack to eventually destroy it.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

Ok - lets get this delayed destruction kicked off.
Evening is burgeoning in the sky as you make your way stealthily from where your meatwagon sits and the manor house. Not trusting the mohrg, you leave it behind with strict directions to not act. Before you leave it offers you one of it's finger bones If need, break. I will act as I can to aid. If you die, then I would follow."
The manor house awaits your approach, sitting like a silent challenge to your patron. Nothing stirs within that you can see from outside, and it awaits your ministrations. You are able to get within 40ft of the building while under reasonable cover... and after a few minutes observation are confident of crossing the distance without detection if needs be.
Vesta comes forward in her wolf-suit - but just need a confirmation of how you act initially... as well as the disposition of the others as you do so.
Just a brief narration of how you provoke the chase response.

Gabriel Helminth |

Once they have gained the attention of several members of the pack, they will head off in the forest, *away* from the manor house.
They are instructed to avoid engaging the 'big wolf' at all costs, fleeing immediately if he is roused.
Go forth, my children. Do your father proud.

::There is an alarm spell that will sound inside the building if the front door is opened from the outside. It shouldnt go off if opened from the inside. If you want me to take care of that I'll need someone to slice the throat of this body I wear. Or I guess I could knock on the front door with this body and see who answers.::

Gabriel Helminth |

They came out here for a reason, and made it abundantly clear that Vesta's temporary body was not welcome; I think that they people who are meant to be here, are already here. It would probably be better if we just finished off her body, and then she opened for us from the inside.

"Good point. SOmeone gag and hold me. When I vacate either cut it's head off or I could take care of it."

Gabriel Helminth |

Consider it done. If you would like the honours, of course, I would not dream of taking the kill away from you...
Gabriel, perhaps a little too eagerly, takes the opportunity to 'strangle' Vesta.
Just to be clear, he is only pinning / silencing the body, unless Vesta does not want to kill it herself, in which case he will just flat-out murder it ;-)

Vesta Shadowbane |

** spoiler omitted **
Vesta's vessel is summarily executed with a minimum of fuss, releasing her essence from the interminable confines of a physical body.
Pulling free of her corporeal form vesta stretches her limbs with ecstasy. This is odd seeing as she now doesn't have any muscles, etc to stretch, but whatever.
::"So how exactly am I going to break this one open?":: She muses to herself, though she sends it out to the others telepathically?

edit: BLAM!

Vesta Shadowbane |

Vesta wagers that bypassing the portal through a dimension door would be successful, and often alarms are not made to penetrate the earth and subterranean ingress.
::Sometimes alarms arent made to go off when someone comes through the ground, but then again they deal with undead alot. I'll just dimension door in and open the door when you're all ready.::
On your mark vesta will open the front door for you.
