Noonan - while I appreciate your enthusiasm... asking if you knew anyone interested =/= reopen open recruitment. Those sorts of decisions should be and are mine to make as DM, and I don't really appreciate them being made without consultation.
That said - cat is out of bag... so I'll roll with it, but please ask either here or via PM next time.

My original idea was for three sets of duos... but for the next wee while I think it's just going to be you as a group vs world. As far as a wardee - you've got a choice between the green guy and the mage ;)
Albion - answering your recruitment question - additional spells can be purchased at their regular cost. ie. buy a scroll of them and transcribe.

I was trying to decide my positioning, since I do not actually know how far you guys can move - if I overstep and you guys do not protect the frail wizard (maybe you can't move 30'?), I think a couple of gnolls and hyenas will have a field day :D
But I am here not only to play with VoV [I admit I applied to one of his games before and was not selected ;)], but to learn from master Tark *bows* so I [i]would go forward with my actions right away, but I cannot see any grid.
However, I'll just go ahead and make a conditional post.

Safe bet is 20ft. movement for guys like me who sport medium armor.
I wouldn't sweat it altogether too much. When you have initiative and the capacity to make someone lose their turn or take a major fall you may as well use it. Arrows will likely fly your way anyway and this makes things easier on future turns when you'll be laying out pain just before the big two handing warder will rip apart.
Need to figure out if we're allowed a turn or two to buff before we run out next time.

That seems like a good one. I'm afraid I have too many Int-based abilities to give in to the rage very much, but maybe when I run out I will unleash my fury.
Just to sum up, in case anyone has no idea how my class works (and I am learning), I have 2 stances I can use anytime (change as a swift action) and 4 maneuvers prepared. Once they are used, I can recover one with a standard action, or 3 (Int) by using Defensive Focus. This is a full round action but it lets me make up to 3 (Combat Reflexes, using Int) AoO's in a 5' area and I may move as part of an AoO.
I can also leap to my ward's defense but I don't have a ward at the moment (takes 10 minutes discussion of tactics).

OK, I didn't notice that "improved aegis" (altered by the Zweihander Sentinel) was part of the "aegis" ability. I will drop the ZS as the Sworn Protector was what I was building around thematically. That will change what maneuvers I have access to. Want me to change it after this combat or now?
Re: inspired rage, I interpret the warder abilities as requiring mental focus, but I'll take GM input on that. The good news is it looks like each round I can choose whether to rage.
If a raging song affects allies, when the skald begins a raging song and at the start of each ally's turn in which they can hear the raging song, the skald's allies must decide whether to accept or refuse its effects. This is not an action. Unconscious allies automatically accept the song. If accepted, the raging song's effects last for that ally's turn or until the song ends, whichever comes first.

Another day another disappointment from your DM...
After getting elder child to bed at 8pm, younger one didn't succumb until 10pm - then exercise and food prep took me through to midnight... when I sat down to update with a cup of coffee in one hand... and the younger awoke with a chesty cough and needed chest-sleeping for a couple of hours. 2AM brain does not make for nice updating status, so suffused with solnolence I instead slept... fingers crossed for tonight though.

It's been a fortnightus horribilus for me as far as updating goes. Gastrointestinal distress, sick kids, sick wife, not-sleeping childers and last night an unscheduled upchuck from the youngest.
I am still here and will get to it... eventually. I thank you for your patience.
Also a small foreboding of the span of days 14-30 December - I will be on a short hiatus as I'll be travelling down to Australia to do the whole family christmas thing.
| DM - Voice of the Voiceless |
After a quite reasonable suggestion from one of my players I'm making an executive decision to call an early start to my hiatus for christmas. That will meant that the studio lights on this campaign will dim from now through until I'm back in country at the end of December.
I'll repeat that I'm still interested and committed to coming back on board and keeping this chugging along, it's just been a tyranny of circumstance over the last few weeks that's crippled my ability and effort. Come the new year I should hopefully be re-freshed, re-newed and re-ady to go.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Peaceful Positive Emotion Holiday Related Occasion with No Baggage... depending on how the case may be ;) Eat lots, have fun... and I shall see y'all come January.
