I may be a weak, feeble little kobold, but guess who's got an 18 in Charisma~ I was in line to be tribe chief, after all!

Tribe. I loved alone. And I have had a good life. Still need money

If you guys want to begin interacting please reserve it for the gameplay thread, which I already set an opening scene for the pre-recruitment banter.

As usual, use the following format:

"This is how you represent speech."

This represents thoughts.

This is out of character conversation.

And general text for everything else.

I'll just go ahead and remove Tik-Tik from submissions. No need to make you do extra work for one character to be viable, might? Like I said before, I'm used to him not getting in.

I'll think of something else.

Grand Lodge RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

Dot for interest.

Dotting. Very interested. I would like to submit my character from an old King Maker game that died in the very early stages. You can find his link here:

http://paizo.com/people/OloDudley

But I will be back with him re-built for your standards. Thanks for running this :)

Diggy diggy dot.

My first inclination is to play a Hitler type, minus the racial stuff. A very charismatic, completely sociopathic dude who is driven to take over the world for his Volk. I guess he would be a Kellid or something, who wants to retake the north for its rightful (native) inhabitants. Bard of some kind.

The second idea I have is an android agent of the Technic League sent east into Brevoy after hearing about Lord Surtova's call. Her mission would be to infiltrate and establish a power base for the Technic League in Brevic territory. Class I'd need to think about more.

Sovereign Court

What you see in this post is what I will use for this campaign if I get in, the profile is different as I have applied for another game. I'll change it if I get into this one.

Background:

Gird is the bastard son of a Noble of House Medvyed Lord Tengar Santyev and the elven woman Talasia.

My birth created quite a scandal for Lord Tengar Santyev as he was already married and had three sons. Having a half-blood bastard around to remind his wife and enemies of his weaknesses was inconvenient and he soon shipped me off away from the politics of Stoneclimb with my elven mother Talasia to a small holding of his in southern Gronzi forest. Here I grew up in the fortified village of Forests Edge, the house and servants provided to us made life comfortable and we were happy after a fashion, although mother needed more than the life of a kept woman.

Lord Tengar would visit sparingly and only then to make sure that the son of his line was strong and healthy. My father ensured that I received a good education, which involved tutors and my religious education being handled by a priest of Abadar. My martial training was taken care of by local armsman in service to my father, the training was basic but useful.

My education is where I found my passion for learning about new places and facts, I would order new books and devour
them soon after they arrived. I managed to arrange several visits with my father and brothers under the pretence of getting to know my family and the proud history of the Medvyed mainly so that I could get access to the Medvyed family libraries.

On the visits to my family home I noticed the deprivation of the common folk of Stoneclimb and how the nobles would strut down the streets surrounded by guards and not acknowledging the plight of those around them. This was very different to my own relatively humble village home where all the people would help each other during the lean times and give generously during the times of surplus.

My mother Talasia sought to make sure that I also learned of my elven heritage, she taught me what she knew of woodcraft and how to wield the Fauchard in her family's spear dancing technique. This suited me much more than the standard techniques that I had been taught by my fathers armsman, the dancing style allowed me the freedom to perform acrobatics in combat and put my opponent at a disadvantage or to help a comrade in need.

To discover and learn of my Elven heritage mother took me on several trips to Kyonin to visit my relatives. I embraced the elven lifestyle and learned all I could of the ways of my people, in the time I had I found the lifestyle to be interesting but it didn't seem real, I was used to the human interactions, of getting things done at a comparatively rapid pace.

On one of several trips through the River Kingdoms on the way to my mothers home, mother intentionally diverted our travels so that we could stop off at Liberthane and meet the powerful and charismatic Lord Parsall a Paladin of Milani. We dined with Lord Parsall and he told me of how he establish this haven and how the people of Liberthane strived together to be allowed to live a life free of the oppressions of other civilisations. He explained his faith in Milani and how lady Everbloom inspired him to take action on behalf of others and to strive for freedom for all. Lord Parsall gave me a gift, a silver and wood bound copy of Milani's holy text "The Light of Hope", I found the teachings to be reflective of my own experiences in life, that freedom for all is something worth fighting for. In this realisation I was first touched by for lack of a better word the "presence" of Milani on my soul, the Everbloom had shown me she was listening.

I was able to find a tutor Miklos Arathenos cleric of Milani to teach me the tenets of Milani's faith, to hear her calling and how to respond and how to be a true servant of the goddess. Miklos directed me to the temple of Iomedae in New Stetven where the Inheritors faithful would allow the Faithful of her "sister" to utilise the temples much greater resources, it was here that I was able to determine how I would best be able to utilise my abilities. I was directed into Inquisitorial training, where I would know how to travel the lands and work to further the cause of justice for all, utilising the methods that were necessary.

I was careful to keep my faith and abilities secret while in the populated areas of Brevoy as a follower of the goddess of uprisings would not be popular in Brevoy in light of the current political tensions with Rostland.

After I had completed my training I journeyed from New Stetven to Stoneclimb and spent some time with my father, I learned more about my family, it's proud history and what it was like to be a true noble. For his part Lord Tengar was having me (his handsome strapping half elven son) attend various political events, balls and parties so that he could find me a politically advantageous marriage, one that would appeal to those that saw the exotic as desirable. I had several young ladies with equally controlling fathers circling around me, vying with each other to find the best deal.

This was the time that my mother Talasia swept into Stoneclimb, upon seeing the situation that my father was creating she confronted him and vowed that he would not be allowed to carry out his plans.

Having realised what I had almost allowed myself to become I left with my mother that night we fled, easily evading the men that father sent after us to bring me back. As we trekked the journey back to Forest Edge I told my mother of my new training and the power that my faith had allowed me to access with Milani's grace.

During my time in Stoneclimb I had heard of the plans to tame the Stolen Lands by sponsoring expeditions, I discussed this with my mother and she agreed with my idea that I should join an expedition. It was an excellent opportunity for me to remove myself from the current situation and be of enough potential benefit for my father to not interfere and for me to do some good in helping the people of the region.

I journeyed to Restov to find those that were assembling the expeditions.

Medvyed: Your family has long a deep respect for the wilderness and is superstitious about the creatures that dwell therein. You gain a +2 trait bonus on all Diplomacy checks made to deal with fey creatures and a +1 trait bonus on Will saves made against their spells and supernatural abilities. Your family motto is “Endurance Overcomes All.”
The house crest is a black bear with black antlers above its head in front of a red field.

Appearance:

He tries to look after his appearance, grroming his hair and face, he has not abondoned his noble origins and shows a preference for fine clothes.
Almost 6 feet tall, he is well muscled from from many hours of weapons practice, running and weight lifting. Due to his many hours practicsing his calisthenics and his Spear Dancer techniques he has a lithe powerful build akin to a dancer. He has relatively few scars on his body and none on his face.

Personality:

A bit happy go lucky, he is a bit vain and tries to look after his face. He is not very outgoing but when you get him to talk he can be hard to stop. He utilises compelling arguments and logic in his discussions about a wide range of subjects as he is quite well read. He reserves his most fervant zeal for discussions on Milani and the injustices of the world. He will stand by his friends, to the end if necessary or by dragging them out of harms way if that is needed. He is a little suspicious of everybody he meets due to his training but he will help those in need and he wants nothing but to provide the best opportunity for those around him and himself.

Work in Progress!

Yes he's evil, yes he's half-insane, and yes I do plan on taking Cook People. Om nom nom nom.

And yes, he can turn into a Tiny Bat at will to annoy the ever-living s%&@ out everyone with his Evil-Eye Hex. While Tiny. And probably sitting on someone's shoulder. Because Werebat-kin are awesome.

I can't wait to get Cackle, because I can only imagine how f+%%ing cute a little bat's cackles are.

i submit here to you gramlag, blacksmith, militia man and generally surly dwarf. he likes good fights and loyal friends. he wants to make a name for himself and found this to be a great opportunity to do so.

let me know if you think the summery of the character is too sparse, im not the greatest writer for back storys but ill do some RP in the game play forum to show that i can certainly make up for it in that manner.

any questions either reply here or feel free to PM me.

Im submitting

Yuki Tsune

A kitsune trickster

Socialite. Face(es) of the party.
Not a big combat character. Other than that. Eventually going for master spy.

Sovereign Court

I assume we have invites except for the monster types?

He is built for 20-point, but give me a short bit and Janek here can be updated as proper for the submission.

Here is Andrea. Aspiring secret cultist.

Submitting Serafina Trimble, Human Sorceress.

If you have any questions, please let me know, Thron. :)

Jelani here. Working on this girl. She'll be a Sarenrae missionary from down south. Wants to spread the word of the Dawnflower to Brevoy and the River Kingdoms.

Oh joy! It would be so funny(funny as in fatal for someone). If we got into the same team.

And updated. I kept the old method mostly for myself to review things, but the general info is as written now below that spoiler.

Going to switch things up, I think. Also going to play with a random background generation -- not done that in a good bit.

Background Roll Wall:

Racial Upbringing: 1d7 ⇒ 7 (Human)
Homeland: 1d100 ⇒ 47 (Town or Village)
Parents: 1d100 ⇒ 96 (Both of your parents are dead)

Sibling Age: 1d100 ⇒ 69 Your sibling is younger than you. Overriding this to be a twin.
Sibling Gender: 1d100 ⇒ 24 Sibling is a female (human, untainted).

Circumstances of Birth: 1d100 ⇒ 84 Born of unwilling means (demonic corruption)
Parents' Profession: 1d100 ⇒ 46 Yeomen (noble attendant)
Major Childhood Event: 1d100 ⇒ 24 Death in the family (parents)
Background: 1d100 ⇒ 62 Mercenary
Influential Associates: 1d100 ⇒ 17 Mentored

Conflict Motivation: 1d10 ⇒ 8 Hatred or Malice
Resolution: Mixed Feelings
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Religion: Gorumite

Romantic Relationships: 1d20 ⇒ 16 Several Inconsequential Relationships
Character Drawback: 1d100 ⇒ 68 Paranoid

Okay. This.

Lantern Lodge

I'll look at some things and whip up a character.

GM, are you using the hero points system?

Here is Phntm888's submission. Morvan Fellis, aspiring Swordlord.

Okay...I'm awake. Going to go one by one through the thread for questions and submissions. If any posts come up in the meantime, please be patient.

Narruk "The Pebble" Rockscale wrote:
Also! For character theme purposes, I was wondering if I could take a couple spells that normally wouldn't be available to kobolds since they're race specific. Specifically, Mudball (goblin only) and Stone Shield (oread only). As I said, I only would like to grab them because they fit into Narruk's motif of earthen magic manipulation, but I wanted to ask before listing them in his sheet.

Provide a reason in your background as to how he learned them and sure.

Narruk: You also only speak Draconic...which you appear to be bypassing in the game thread by some unlisted means. Still need a background (also explaining why/how he got an invitation), description, and personality posted. Clarify those and the rest looks okay on a quick glance over.

Khargol: You have two separate sets of stats posted, need to fix that. From Brevoy but no Knowledge (Local)? Other than that looks okay on a quick glance over.

Gromar: Looks okay on a quick glance. Minor formatting issues. No mention of how or why you got an invitation.

Jek Jer: Looks okay on a quick glance, mechanically. Same problem as Narruk with only speaking Draconic. Need a better reason in your background as to how/why you received an invitation.

Erimriel: Looks good. A well polished submission it would appear. I see nothing that notably stands out as needing addressed at this time.

Morvan: Looks good. As with Erimriel, I see nothing that notably stands out as needing fixed at this time.

It's the basic herolab formatting for the most part which I have not had a chance to fix. I will update the background to explain the invite.

Gromar Grimale wrote:

To be honest, it wasn't anything major. Mainly something was wonky around the Skills section if I recall.

Herolab likes to crunch things up and give only final numbers. I have a template I usually use that I will applying some time today. The background has been updated.

Azten here, with an example of how I usually format my character sheets. I'm just checking to see if it's okay to use this way of formatting.

Yeah, that's fine. It doesn't have to be a carbon copy of what I posted. I just used that as an example to show how I personally like to see things. If the information is there and the sheet is clean and easy to read, I'm fine.

Gird: Looks okay at a surface glance. Noted you are from Brevoy, no ranks in Knowledge (Local)? I assume he gains his invitation via his noble bloodline?

Zayna: Looks good on a surface glance. Need the background/personality stuff then it should be good to go.

Allaeron: Needs a good bit of finishing up to do, but what I see checks out so far.

Gamlag: Looks okay at a quick glance. 2 shields? Only one of which appear to be applying to ACP? From Brevoy it would seem, no ranks in Knowledge (Local)?

Janek: Looks okay at first look. From Brevoy it would seem, no ranks in Knowledge (Local)? No mention of how you received an invitation.

Serafina: Looks good at first look. I assume she followed the posting mentioned in her background and one thing led to another and that is how she got her invitation?

Andrea: A few errors noted in the sheet. Listed as Male at one point, but referred to as Female the rest of the time. Height and Weight are flipped. No mention of how you receive an invitation. All-in-all could use some polishing.

Gird Medvyed wrote:

Every character submitted, including the monster types, have received invitations. It is up to you how and why you received them, and I would like to have that information presented as part of the character submission.

Profile is more legible now. The problem with the skills was the herolab gets very confused when there are conditional modifiers present.

Updated.

DM Thron wrote:

so only one shield counts towards armour so only one counts towards ACP, the second is mealy a weapon that also happens to be a shield. also knowledge local is a combination of the old knowledge local and gather information and knowing that i dont find gramlag to be social enough to know alot about the local city and i dont think he is at all good at gathering information.

to make it easier to picture the build is more or less like a normal 2 weapon build but instead of focusing on dps through crit fishing it focuses on defense cuz ive got a shield, dps is only slightly below average and defense slightly above. i can only benefit from one shield at a time thus am only impeded by one at a time, the second one is merely weapon so they both can qualify for feats like weapon focus and such.

edit:though as an after thought local might make more sense then dungoneering.... hmm ill consider it, gimme some time to think

I decided to make Je'grik my submission. Equipment is partially done, so I just need that and his animals cmpanion and I'll be done.

Handle Animal checks for tricks
Attack(DC 20): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Heel(DC 15): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Guard(DC 20): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Well, that was slightly disappointing, but it gives me something to do for the first bit of any downtime. :)

Did some fluffing of the back history. Andrea is posing as a novice of Pharesma who was recommended for her healing skills and would act as a representative of the Pharesmain faith to the Stolen Lands and recieved the invitation that way.

I can go in and do a slight adjustment here in a bit when I head to Lunch. I'll move my +2 from engineering to local. Update soon.

Sovereign Court

Heya

To make it easier for you to check I added a DM Thron Crunch at the bottom of character page.

I added the following to the Background to explain the invitation that I received and added Knowledge Local to my skills, I even cleared several typos.

I was able to get in contact with an acquaintance who for a consideration was able to get me an invitation to join the expedition to the stolen lands. It was an excellent opportunity for me to remove myself from the current situation and be of enough potential benefit for my father to not interfere and for me to do some good in helping the people of the region.

Rockne Coonak is crunched and ready for review (dang, 15pt buy is HARD!)

As for an invitation.......he made his way to Brevoy, as former-slave Chelish halflings are wont to do, and on his first day in Restov he got into a barfight. Not just ANY barfight: a group of four swordsmen were mocking his size and he attacked them. Got a good thumping of course, but he got in quite a few good shots of his own. His refusal to back down and his display of courage and skill caught the attention of a minor Rostland officer. While not truly a 'benefactor' the officer did put Rockne's name in front of enough of the right people to garner the Halfling an invitation.

Updated Janek here. So, Warpriests get 2 skill points a level, being human nets them another 1, and I put my freebie point from Warpriest being my preferred class into Knowledge (local) to represent his growing up in Brevoy.

Anything else, GM? I'll be more than willing to clarify anything else, as well as expand on other areas.

Deylinarr wrote:

We are indeed, aren't we?

I am curious, are you requiring Knowledge (local) for everyone from Brevoy? Because almost all the campaign traits are based on being from Brevoy. (Issian, Noble-born, Rostlander, and Sword Scion are all explicitly for people from Brevoy.)

It isn't a requirement, but in my mind helps strengthen the character if their skills tie into their background somewhat.

here is a way to look at knowledge local, its a skill if that person takes the time to learn the city and know the sights and the local populace, gramlag here knows the mitary parts of the town due to working with the militia but i never took the time to learn about the people and stuff. thus knowledge local actually doesnt fit him even though he grew up in the town. that make sence

Gramlag wrote:

Not really. For example, I didn't grow up in the town I'm in, and my profession is limited to healthcare. However, I still know a decent bit about the businesses, schools, restaurants, entertainment venues, etc. And that is based on living here for a few years. Had I been born and raised here, I'm sure my knowledge of the area would be way more detailed.

Like I said though, it is by no means a requirement. It just makes sense to me.

Oh, I definitely agree that skills should ideally all tie into the background or be directly justified by it, but sometimes you only have one or two points to spend on training up skills. With the character I would likely submit, it would actually tie into her background to not have points in Knowledge (local)/(nobility), since she spent her childhood traveling around the lands of House Lebeda, never settling in any one place long enough to become familiar with the customs there, and spent her adolescence mostly in a wizard's tower learning magic, her only interactions with people being nobles who teased her for not knowing proper etiquette. She still knows common knowledge stuff (DC 10 checks don't require training) but she's too sheltered to know much of the intricacies of local politics, traditions, etc.

Allaeron fled Ustalav due to bandrity. He doesn't know anything about Brevoy, but knows that he likes the taste of blood and human flesh. He also doesn't want to worry about some trifling 'taboos', thus the whole 'lets go out into the wilderness!' thing.

Mmm human flesh..

Dotting for interest. Anyone have a list of applications so far? Thinking about a Druid(World Walker), although I might change 10 ties before I settle on something.
