Morghrim's a charisma 5 character and i'm trying not to make or push for decisions in light of that (as well as RPing a grumpy Dwarf); so some leadership or decision from someone else would be good :).

Male Halfling Alchemist : 4

Wart sighs, and starts pulling out the ingredients for a bomb while whispering,

"Ok, I will open the door, and then step out of the way. As soon as I am out of the way, you rush through ok?"

He moves over towards the door and prepares himself for the "everyone's ready signal."

HP: 44 /44; 0 non-lethal AC 19; touch 14; flat-footed 16 Fort: +5; Reflex: +5; Will: -1

Kev readies himself and nods his assent to Wart.

Wart opens the door and prepares for the others to rush through. Upon opening the door you see a number of tieflings waiting on the other side, one holding a lit torch.

Initiative Rolls:

Morghrim:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Wart:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Bron:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Addie:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Kevorin:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Valeron:1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Tieflings:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Ostengo:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Initiative Order:
Ostengo 21
Wart 20
Morghrim 18
Valeron 17
Kevorin 14
Tieflings 11
Bron 9+
Addie 9

As the door opens, a ray of seering heat blasts through the opening over the halfling's head and at the grim dwarf.

Attack vs. Touch AC:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage from Spell:4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 1) + 1 = 15

Morghrim takes 15 damage from the spell. Wart, Morghrim, Valeron, and Kevorin are up (in that order).

Spellcraft DC17:
The spell was Scorching Ray

On a side note, I will be traveling for work the next few days, so my posting frequency will likely be lower than usual. I will still post, it will just be in the late evenings (US Eastern)

Male Halfling Alchemist : 4

Wart howls,

"Scorching Ray! Arcane Caster!"

Looking at the bunching of tieflings, Wart changes his focus from the caster in the back, and lobs the bomb in his hand at the group closer to him. As he does so, he dives near Addie, going prone on the floor to get out of the way.

Rolls & OOC:

  • Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
  • Direct ranged touch attack vs. Tiefling in N20: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
  • Damage if applicable: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9
  • Splash damage for (N21, O21, O20, N19, and M19)(Using feat: Splash weapon mastery): 4 fire damage, Reflex DC 14 for half
  • Move Action: Open Door
  • Standard Action: Throw bomb
  • 5 ft step to N23 (can I squeeze?)
  • Free Action: going prone

I'll wait for Morhgrim to post before setting up an action. Sorry, crazy weekend for me, so I was AFK most of it - caught up now, and tempted to consider a Silence spell for this one... bombs work in Silence right? :)

They do, but theres also a seriously wounded Dwarf folk moving into melee lol.

Grimacing in pain, Morghrim steps into the space Wart occupied and swings for the closest Tiefling with his Glaive. After he makes his attack, he presses himself against the wall to allow Kevorin or Valeron easy passage past him to attack.

    1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 (Guidance expended)

    ROUND 1:
Assuming Morg and Wart's combined assaults take down O21 (otherwise, we're really in trouble), Kevorin rages and attempts to overrun O20 to end up in O19.
    Overrun attempt: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 = 18
AC versus attacks of opportunity = 14
    HP=29

    Male Human Cleric 5 / Inheritor's Crusader 1

Seeing the tielfling spellcaster joined by six other tiefling thugs, Valeron quickly surmises that the spellcaster is a _bad thing_. Remembering a prayer to The Inheritor for such a situation, he withdraws a scroll he just scribed, and intones "silentium meus hostilis" with his hand outstretched.

5ft move to O-24. Cast Silence (20ft Radius) on the back corner of the bend in the hallway (the effect stops at our doorway). Lasts 3 rounds.

    Reflex Saves:
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
    1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Wart tosses his bomb into the room, smashing the vial on his target's chest. Several other tieflings are injured by the both the bomb, and the oil that is ignited by the flames.

Morghrim steps into the flames and finishes off a tiefling with a vicious slash of his glaive. Kevorin charges into the room, though the flames, knocking another tiefling flat on his back. Several tieflings take swings at Kevorin as he enters the room, with two very solid shots landing.

    AoOs:

    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

    Confirmations:
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Valeron casts his spell in hopes of neutralizing the tiefling sorcerer.

The shocked tieflings, focus their assult on the one target they don't have to cross flame to get to, Kevorin. Two more blades find their way into Kevorin's flesh.

    Attacks:

    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
    Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Morghrim takes 1 point from the burning floor. Kevorin takes 1 point from flame, and 17 from 4 separate strikes. Bron and Addie are up, then back to the top of the order.

    HP: 44 /44; 0 non-lethal AC 19; touch 14; flat-footed 16 Fort: +5; Reflex: +5; Will: -1

He's raging, so technically he only takes 13 points because of DR 1/-, plus 1 from fire that bypasses damage reduction.

    Male Halfling Alchemist : 4

Stupid question, but I was under the impression that I couldn't technically light anything on fire unless I had the Explosive Bomb discovery. That is the only one that mentions something lighting on fire. I certainly wasn't intending to light the group on fire. If that is the call, then so be it, but I want to state from the outset that was not my intention.

Since the floor was covered with oil, would your bomb set it on fire even without the Explosive Bomb discovery?

Addie touches Morghrim with the healing wand and speaks the activation word, partially healing the dwarf's wounds.

    Standard Action to use Cure Light Wounds wand on Morghrim: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"I'm going to need a stronger wand if you men keep this up," she quips.

Attack of Opportunity on Ostengo, if provoked:

Bron moves ahead into the crowded room of tieflings, suffering minor burns along the way. Two tieflings, one of which is prone, swing ineffectually at Bron as he moves through, looking for an opening.

Bron takes 1 point of fire damage.

    AoO:

Keep it up, that fire the berk shot at me bloody hurt! And Kev's not looking too good either- Valeron? Morghrim grumbles in response to Addie's healing, taking a step forward to strike at the Tiefling in N20, cutting the Tiefling deeply across his chest.

We could debate whether that should apply to soft cover, but as I said its a non-issue as Kev's attack would have missed anyway.

Addie reaches around the corner to tap Morghrim with the healing wand again.

    Standard Action to use Cure Light Wounds wand on Morghrim: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4.

Addie then steps around the flaming floor to stand next to Valeron (Move action to square N-24).

    Male Halfling Alchemist : 4

Wart moves across the flaming oil, to stand in front of Morghrim. His mouth wide open, as if yelling, he mixes and throws a vile at the bunched up tieflings. The resulting explosion makes no sound as the fire blossoms out like a rose.

    Rolls & Actions:

    • Move Action: 15 ft. to N20
    • Standard Action: Throw Bomb at Tielfing in M19
    • Ranged Touch Bomb Attack @ T in M19: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
    • Damage if applicable: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8
    • Splash damage vs. N18, N19: 4 fire damage, Reflex DC 14 for half
    • Using a precise bomb to exclude the square I am in
    • Using Splash weapon mastery to cover squares: K19, L19, L18, M19, M18, N19, and N18.
    • Perception check to see what the spellcaster is up to: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

    DM Talomyr:
    Two questions:
    • How much damage do I take for moving across the flaming oil?
    • If any fire-type damage would lite the oil on fire, wouldn't the spellcaster's burning hands spell have done the trick?

    Grand Lodge

    Wart:
1 point for the flames (which are starting to die out by the way). The Scorching Ray didn't do it because of a targeting effect, the bomb did the trick due to the splash.

Morghrim and Kevorin lay brutal attacks on two more tieflings, sending them to their hellish masters. Addie reaches out at Morghrim with her wand, delivering healing magics to the wounded dwarf. Wart bravely hustles across the flames, and lobs a bomb at another tiefling, grievously wounding him, and singeing another. Wart take 1 point of damage, as the flames begin to extinguish.

The badly wounded tiefling, knowing his fate is already sealed, moves into a flanking position with his prone brother, as they make a desperate attack at Kevorin.

    Attacks:

    Attack:1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18 (flank)
    Damage:1d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + (6) + 1 = 9 (sneak attack)

    Attack:1d20 + 3 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 - 4 = 13 (flank, attack from prone)
    Damage:1d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + (4) + 1 = 6 (sneak attack)

Kevorin takes 9 damage from one successful attack, DR turns that into 8.

The remaining tiefling darts though the open passage and closes the stone door behind him.

Still need an Action from Valeron. Bron is up.

Ah, so it is... I never realized since our group's been playing it as a free action for years

Valeron, seeing the arcanist in flight, concentrates for a moment on the silence spell he conjured earlier. It almost sounds like a ringing bell as sounds are restored to everyone's ears. The cleric moves forward, and glances around the corner to see where Wart and the tiefling leader are.

Wart rushes after the lead tiefling as fast as his legs will take him, hurling a bomb at the hellbound creature, but missing his target. The bomb crashes of of the tunnel wall, raining fire down upon the tiefling, injuring him, but not as much as Wart would have liked.
