I'm updating the loot list based on the feedback and will post what I've got later today. I am zeroing out the value of all 'communal' items (healing pots/scrolls, etc.) so those don't count against anyone's share.
I won't be fighting over the hairpin so it is going to Emi. :) Just so you know where I'm coming from... unless the magic katana turns out to be a total McGuffin, I'm likely to get it and it is probably the most expensive item in the haul. If that happens, I'm going to forego any share of the gold I might otherwise have and try to keep any other goodies to a minimum on my list.
Vigny, I'll take the items/value you described from the 'loose jewelry' category - no problem.

Reiko Mura |

No worries, Vigny. This is a huge haul to sort through but once we get past this one, the task should be easier. And hopefully my mathe-magical cheatsheet will simplify it going forward. SO, here is what I have currently:
Emi's Items
Pot of CMW
Pot of CLW
Wand of Identify (19 chgs)
3 Scrolls of False Life <- Unless Jerukh can use one
Hairpin w/ Red Pearl (and IOU from Reiko to do her hair ;P)
Jerukh's Items
3 Pots of CLW
3 Pots of Lesser Restoration
MW Chain Shirt
Reiko's Items
Pot of CMW
Pot of CLW
Whispering Katana?
MW Cold-Iron Wakizashi <-- I debated this one. It would be useful for me to have it, especially when we head toward the Dragon Empire so I can 'pass' as a Samurai. However, it does put me even more over-the-top in terms of loot value compared to y'all. If you guys would rather it be sold so you have some extra cash in your pockets, let me know.
Soli's Items
Pot of CLW
5 Arrows - Animal Bane
Ring of Climbing
Vigny's Items
Scroll of Water Walk
Pot of CLW
2 Scrolls of CLW
Jewelry (she described) worth 150GP
MW Dagger/steel scabbard
Emi or Vigny - do either of you want the scroll tube?
Any amendments, additions, or changes?

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Oh, and if Jerukh is finished wit those crystals from the cave, Vigny would like to get them back. She has a plan for them.
Ah.
Just made some crystal tea with them :)
No worries - they are yours! ;)
On the subject of the scroll - reading into it thats nixed. He can learn formulae equivalents from spell books but not spell completion items - such as scrolls. I'm cool with that - makes sense as I've always seen a wizard's spell book as a user manual for those spells, while a scroll is just basic instructions...
Reiko should keep the Wakizashi - its cold iron for starters - which suggests we may need that down the line? Regardless its fits her really well. Not caring about the loot balance at the moment tbh, if we're still skewed in 2 levels time we can look at balancing it out, but I'm all for old saying - "if the shoe/helm/wakizashi fits..." lol.

DM-Salsa |

Yes thanks!
As for the fireworks, it's 5 gp for the Desnan Candles and 50 gp for the skyrockets.

Reiko Mura |

OK, guys, I did some number crunching. These figures weigh in the value of the goods that were taken from the pile by each person. Since Soli isn't really enthusiastic about the Ring of Climbing, I shorted the value of it to give her some money. Here is how the numbers work out:
Emi : 1000 GP, 5 SP
Jerukh : 651 GP, 5 SP
Soli : 404 GP, 5 SP
Vigny : 601 GP, 5 SP
For reference, an even split of the profits (without regard to items taken) comes out to 664 GP & 5 SP per person.

Reiko Mura |

OK, guys I spoke with Salsa. The above distribution of cash (and goods) is approved. With this caveat... you each get an additional 100GP on top of the total above. Enjoy!
Now that my Loot Monkey job is complete... I shall eat bananas messily and fling poop.

DM-Salsa |

*Sigh* And I just had the carpet cleaned.
Igor! Fetch the Vladimir Special Dwarf Tossing Target Wall! I feel the need to work out my tossing arm!

Reiko Mura |

Zounds!
Reiko's character sheet is all updated. Salsa, what type of armor was the dark captain wearing? Since I'm gonna try to repair it as a hobby project, I figure it would be good to know what it is. :)

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Yeah- honestly, the snow wasn't any worse where I live than we're used to (we got about 18", or half a meter, over 36 hours) but a lot of our plows and crews were sent to other parts of the state so we ended up with two days of canceled school and some pretty sketchy driving conditions. Mostly just a big inconvenience.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Almost came to that here in Portland earlier this winter. Coldest winter since 1993, biggest single snowfall in about since 1980 I believe. Four large snowstorms compared to our usual one. By late January my son had gone to school for three days in a month. He almost ate me out of boredom.

Reiko Mura |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I assume you don't mean Portland, Oregon otherwise that is the hardest rain EVAH. :D
I'm in Brooklyn, NYC. We've had some snow and ice this year, some record days... but not anything like what hit you. YIKES!
This last blast was blizzard-like - sideways sleet, cutting winds, icicles growing diagonally, you know... weather for yetis. :)

DM-Salsa |

Yeesh, glad it wasn't like that when I went on a trip back in high school. I live in Prattville, AL, so snow, any snow, is a big friggin' deal.

Soliana of the Rose |
^Same here (TN), though I think I've said as much elsewhere in the past. I have a couple of coworkers who are supposed to fly up to Rochester in a little more than a week to spend a week training on a new analyzer we're getting at work and they're both rather concerned about snow and getting stuck there.

Reiko Mura |

They'll be fine. NY (particularly upstate) has a long history of dealing with snow removal. As long as they aren't attending their training session out in the sticks, they shouldn't have many problems.

Reiko Mura |

Or we could totally Captain Kirk it... just fade out then fade in the next morning with Soli pulling on her boots as we see a bedsheet-shrouded form that looks an awful lot like Shalelu collapsed on the bed behind her.
:D

Vigny Olafursdottir |

@Reiko: Yeah, Portland, OR. I doubt the schools in Portland Maine would have closed at all for what we had. The rain here isn't so hard. Now the Oregon coast, that's some rain!
@Soli: TN seriously? Where? I'm originally from Jefferson City, not far outside of Knoxville.
Ha, Vigny is only my second most likely character to pull a Caption Kirk. The winner is a certain sooty moth of Desna's in a ROTRL campaign. Her range of motives for doing so are much broader than Vigny's, and can run toward the negative.

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Meanwhile in Bonnie Scotland its a positively balmy 42 degrees F.
Sorry to hear you guys are getting battered with the ice and snow - stay safe and warm folks.

Emiliana Vasilescu |

Lol- Emi has already pulled one Kirk in this campaign!
I actually like the snow. This was probably the fifth or sixth time this year we've gotten 18"+ in 36 hours, so like I said it was mostly just an inconvenience. (And if they hadn't sent our road crews downstate to help there it probably wouldn't have disrupted anything at all).
Also, my wife and I have been talking about visiting Scotland. We went to Ireland 2 years ago and really enjoyed it, and my family is Scottish on my mom's side (I actually wore the family tartan at our wedding).

Reiko Mura |

Definitely visit Scotland! We were there last year. Sadly, we didn't make it to Aberdeen (Jerukh's stomping grounds) but we hit Edinburgh, Inverness, all the lochs in between, and the Highlands. Beautiful land and probably the friendliest folk in the British Isles. And I've been to both Irelands and England many times.

DM-Salsa |

I've only got one character that's likely to pull a Captain Kirk, but you've already met. :D
On another note, if you want to pull this with one of the four major NPCs, you're going to have to work for it.
Never been out of the States, much less overseas. If I ever have the money, I would love to visit Scotland, Ireland, England, or Wales.
I think the last snow we had here was back when I was in college about 6 years ago.
And now that I've got that bit of schizophrenia out of the way, on to the gameplay post!

Soliana of the Rose |
@Vigny - Small world! I'm in the Cookeville area.
And I second the notion to travel if you can. I've been lucky enough to get to visit England, Ireland, France, and Italy but those were trips I took several years ago when I was in high school. Would love to go back someday but alas, my husband isn't terribly interested in travelling.

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Aberdeen itself isn't the best Scotland has to offer - Glasgow and Edinburgh are more cultured and have more stuff to do. Aberdeen is an oil town but its seen better days...
I'm outside of Aberdeen so near the mountains and have some castles and cairns within spitting distance.
Been to the states quite a few times for business and pleasure (my in-laws were posted there for 10 years) - spent many summers, thanksgivings and christmases in Texas and Alaska (where I honeymooned). Been to New Mexico and Arizona as well... friends in Portland, Boston and Philly that have all extended invites so they'll be on the cards down the line.

Emiliana Vasilescu |

I love to travel. We haven't been able to do it nearly as much now that we have kids. I've been to 47/50 states in the US plus: Canada, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, France, Germany, Morocco, Israel, and Jordan.

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Hawaii was very cool. Oz and New Zealand also.
Thailand not so much... some interesting sites but lost count the amount of times someone attempted a pickpocket.
Italy is also beautiful and very varied... plus food is superb :)

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Most of my travel has been school related, so longer stints in a few countries with side trips to others.
I did a study abroad year in England and made trips to France, Germany, The Netherlands, and Greece.
About nine months in Egypt as a second study abroad, but no extra places since it was too difficult.
Two years over three trips to Turkey. That was for research so I was very busy. Short trips to Greece and Bulgaria, but otherwise I barely made it out of Istanbul at all.
All of the countries were great, except Bulgaria which was kind of depressing.
Of all of them Turkey was my favorite, but that was also a few years back now before things really started going south with Erdogan's government.
@Soli: It's funny how many people from TN live in my neighborhood here in Portland. There are six of us I know about if I include a person from far southern Kentucky. About half of them have dreadlocks, serious hippies. :)

Soliana of the Rose |
I got to do a lot of traveling here in the States when I was younger, courtesy of having a dad who taught history and a mom that just likes to travel in general. Every summer we'd load up and go somewhere so I've been to plenty of cool places! And even if I never end up going anywhere else, I can't complain as I've seen a lot more than some end up seeing :)
@Vigny - Really? Hah! There's not many hippies around here that I know of but maybe it's a different story in bigger places like Nashville or Knoxville :)
Also lol, this poor guy that Emi's with is clearly needing to pour out his feelings to someone and she just wants some sleep!

DM-Salsa |

Well, for weal or woe, he's doing whether she listens or not. Sorry Emi.
In other news, just saw Kong, and I have to say, it's a good movie, if you can turn your brain off and not think about how the entire plot hinges on a supposedly competent character doing something absolutely stupid.
Oh that and manage to avoid the "Action Scene Fatigue" that crops up after about an hour and a half.

Jerukh Hörnungr |

Knew there was something "off" about her! ;)
Damn Ulfen. Pop up everywhere!
Heheh. Ulfen are actually my favourite culture in the game, so wanted to play a character who has reason not to like 'em.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Vigny didn't do it!
But that's just like us Ulfen. We're always standing too close to people and breathing all over them. We get in everyone's pants and leave awkwardness in our wake.
@Jerukh: I thought it was very funny. Everyone else had these person-specific reasons, but not Vigny. Ulfen: Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
