Kassen Battle Maps

Sounds fine to me, although I would allow you to have the Alchemy Lab.

Okay, sounds like we're good to go as soon as you guys decide on who's going to be the first vic-- I mean, who's going in first. :P

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

I hope nobody minds a shameless plug because...

I'm running a recruitment for a special playthrough of Rise of the Runelords! If you're thinking about picking up another game (or just curious about what makes it special) check it out.

Inactive

I may very well have to lurk that one because the premise is pretty cool!

(Also I think we need to pool our funds to buy you another AP so you've got some options :P)

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

Lol. Not wanting to shell out the funds for another AP is a factor, but so is time- it takes very little prep work to run another table of the same AP. Also, its fun for me to see how differently things develop in different games.

Bliadhna Mhath Ùr (Happy New Year) to you all one and all. Have a good 'un when it comes.

Here's to health, wealth and happiness for everyone and more memorable times around our virtual table.

Nate, both you and Adam have posted cool sounding campaigns you're recruiting for, but sadly I'm at my limit for what I can take on. One wafer-thin mint more would do me in.

Thanks to both of you though for making the offers.

Kassen Battle Maps

It's understandable. I'm not going to be hopping into Nate's game because of this and the fact that I'm three other Rise of the Runelords games.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

(One of those three being the other special version I started runnng a year ago, lol).

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

I also like the multiple universes approach to APs. I'm doubled up on ROTRL and Hell's Rebels right now. It's fun to watch how they do and do not diverge from each other as they go along.

Kassen Battle Maps

Yup.

Inactive

It's definitely an interesting thing; I'm doubled up on Carrion Crown, Jade Regent, and Kingmaker and it's amazing just how different the groups and the narratives are from game to game.

Half-Orc Alchemist Chirurgeon 3 | HP 2/25 | AC 16/12/14 | F+5, R+6, W+4 | Perc +8, Darkvision 60ft | Init +2 | Move: 30ft. , Hero Points: 1

Alas I'm at my limit also - long running game has just awoken from an extended period of dormancy. Was very tempted though - love me some Runelords and Nords!

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

I have a hard time saying 'no' to fun concept campaigns... but one of my new year's resolutions is to avoid taking on more games than I can play well. :) And I think I'm at my limit, sadly.

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

@Reiko: Vigny is close the building you heard the sounds from and up on the platform already. She actually bypassed that one to make sure the next building down, which has a ladder, was clear to be used by everyone. It would be easy to clue Vigny in, but she's unaware of anything right now. Given how low the platforms actually are, the ladders probably don't matter much anyway.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Oh, I thought you were up on another level - essentially walking on a walkway that forms the roof above the walkway I'm about to jump on. You definitely would see her signal. I made it an 'all hands' for folks with a view of the open area.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Rather than kill the main thread will blue text, how about we discuss the battle plans here.

I threw our icons by the front door is something of a combat formation. Here's kinda what I'm thinking. Emi and Jerukh can do distance damage - so they are in the back row. The person in front of the door (me at this moment but it could just as easily be Vigny) kicks in the door and then backs up between Jerukh and Emi - using up their two actions. Then one of our front-liners (Vigny or Reiko depending) races in. The attempt is to get past the doorway and attack to allow other teammates to get in quick. Following the front-liner comes Soli with her glaive doing distance destruction and helping to establish a front-line. Then Jerukh and Emi come in and do their distant damage.

We might get stuck at the front door... but we certainly have enough people that we should be able to wipe out the door guard and hopefully the next closest gobbo in one round.

Thoughts? Anything I missed?

Vigny, would you prefer the bust down the door or be first in?

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

I'm fine with either breaking down the door or going first. I'll defer to other preferences if there are any.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Either job is fine for me as well. I'm at 8HP right now and my AC is a little worse than yours... but how important that becomes really depends on what's hiding behind the door.

Hmm... how much healing do we have left on the team? This might be a good moment to top up before we race into this gobbo meatgrinder.

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

I have CLW x2 right now. No spells used. Want me to pop you one? Don't know what Jerukh has left.

Inactive

I'm at full health but alas, have no means to help patch anyone up yet :\

Also, that plan sounds like a plan to me!

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

I can stand guard at the ladder in case there's a hidden exit at the top, if people would like?

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

@ Vigny - thanks for the offer! Let's wait on Jerukh before deciding who can bear the spell loss better. Warpriests are so cool - great mix of melee and spell abilities.

@ Soli - Yeah, Pallys are one of those classes that start slow before catching fire.

@ Emi - I'd like you in the fight, unless you'd rather play guard. Your Color Spray was decisive in that first big battle. You turned it into a walk-over... and that is just ridiculously cool. :)

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

Both CLW are spontaneous, my memorized are swadowtrap and protection from evil. I could also cast PfE on myself raising my ac to 19 and just try to tank it with 1 CLW left. Not sure that's worth it though

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Depending on how many gobbos are waiting for us, that PfE idea might be a life-saver. Now I definitely want to find out how Jerukh is doing with his pots... I'd rather not take that PfE off the table for you.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

I only have one 1st level spell per day... so no more color spray goodness today. (I start slow too)

Half-Orc Alchemist Chirurgeon 3 | HP 2/25 | AC 16/12/14 | F+5, R+6, W+4 | Perc +8, Darkvision 60ft | Init +2 | Move: 30ft. , Hero Points: 1
Daily Alchemy:
Bombs: 3/5; Extracts 1st Level: 3/4

Chatty peeps..!

Regards tactics - looks sound to me :)

Regards healing - Jerukh has one CLW Extract for himself left and 1 potion of CLW for communal consumption. Apart from that it would be Healer's kit and herbs.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Unfortunately the healer kit would require an hour to give me back a few HP. It's probably better to keep the single potion in case Vigny gets knocked out and it's a finite resource.

Vigny would you please CLW me but use your non-PfE spell to do it? That way, if we do run into a problem you retain an awesome buffer. And do you want to be the door-breaker or the first one in? I'll leave the choice to you.

Female Ulfen Human Holy Knight 1 | HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 (T: 12, F: 15) | CMB: +4, CMD: 16 | F: +4, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: -1 | Speed 30'

I'll break the door. You've been on a very hot streak lately.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

What's the verdict on my out-of-magic self... 4th one in, or ladder guard?

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Sounds good, Vigny. Nice CLW roll, btw! I've switched us on the map so you can bust in the door.

Emi, it's really up to you. You still have scarf-tastic abilities which could be key if this a nasty fight... and you are in a spot to watch that back ladder in case of a breakout. You could wait until we get the door open and see what the interior looks like (i.e. is there an obvious way for the baddies to sneak out) before you commit to a course.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Vigny, feel free to kick the doors in when you're ready! I suspect Salsa is waiting for us to act.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

How well connected is the ladder? Could we just move it away from the wall before opening the door?

Inactive

^I'd love to see a goblin try to escape and there be no ladder :)

Kassen Battle Maps

Yeah, you could move it fairly easily. It's only about five feet tall, if that.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Well, Vigny hit at least...

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

I hit!

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Nice work! I wrote that before seeing your post, sorry. I've moved your icon.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

Thanks :)

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

And that's two goblins down.

You know, I didn't think this through when I had the goblins mooning the door. Now I've got questions like "What kind of action is it to pull up your pants?" and "Would goblins even bother or just go naked berserker from the waist down?" I swear I wasn't planning on having goblin strippers show up in this game, but it seems like I may have done it by accident.

At least they aren't wearing banana hammocks? Somehow, I think that would be worse than them going pantsless.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

LOL. The horror... the horror.

Kassen Battle Maps

I dunno, at least then their bits wouldn't be out in the open for all to see. I think what made the banana hammock so bad was that it was worn by Krosk, and Krosk is a lech who kept his coins in it.

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

Ewww... I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Kassen Battle Maps

Well, I can honestly say that out of all the fights I've run, that one was the most memorable. I do apologize for causing that reaction though.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

Leveling, yay! Grats everyone.

What are we doing for hit points, average rounded up?

HP:112 | AC:28 ; T:27 ; FF:22 ; CMD:38/32 | Fort:+7 ; Ref:+12 ; Will:+12 | Init:+9 ; PER:+15 (Low Light)

LOL
No need to apologize! I like memorable moments even when gross. :) And I can't say I've ever had a character mooned by goblins.

On the level-up, I'm going with an Unchained Monk level... I'll provide the details once I build it.

HP: 1d5 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Nice!

Hey, Emi, HPs are 1/2 your die plus the other half, so...

d6 = 1d3+3
d8 = 1d4+4
etc.

Kassen Battle Maps

Yup. That's how I normally do it.

HP 19/30 | AC 17 (t16/ff11) | F +5, R +4, W +4* | Perception +1 (lowlight vision), +3 initiative | hero points: 3 | active effects: --

hp: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Well, that worked out nicely!
