Slei's sword sinks into the glowing troll, in spite of a strange resistance like the monster was wearing boiled leather.

Eldan will take a double move, staying close to the building. This should put him around A4.

Frum also advances on the glowing troll while drawing a greatsword, but sees Giles coming and alters his angle of approach to leave space for the farmer to charge in.
Tarakona and Zepfina hear the commotion and pick their way past the ruined portion of the building.
The troll claws at the halfling who pricked him, but Slei is too quick and nimble for the beast.

A couple of rounds later, Zigil makes it to the troll.
"I wonder if this could have been the same troll that Rodrik encountered. Could it be with Othdan's captors? Maybe we should hide again."
Male Elder GM
The gunpowder burns brightly, and the troll cooks slightly. There is no sign of its wounds closing.
Sergeant Frum asks, "How many are we supposed to arrest? Are you sure that they aren't inside already? Maybe some of us should go check while the others watch the exits."

"What were you doing at the Plague House?"
"Who are you working with?"
"Why did you lock up Othdan (that human lad)?"
"What were you going to do with him?"
"Why are you digging the tunnel in the Plague House?"
"What is your favourite colour?"

"Don't forget this troll. He should provide us with some information as well. It seems to me that outside forces are stirring up trouble within Trunau. I would question them on the letter as well, as notify Kurst of what we found."
Male Elder GM
Zigil secures the half-orc.
The half-orc is wearing leather armour, and is armed with a well-made morningstar, a shortsword, and 5 daggers. He also carries a crowbar, a set of thieves' tools, 4 potion vials (two of which are empty), some strange looking coal, an alchemical bag-type weapon, an alchemical pellet, and a pouch containing 30 gp, a key, and a garnet.
Anything further you wish to do re: searching his stuff?
The troll has been killed by the burning black powder.
As you take Daktani back to town, Tarakona expands on what happened.
"The door opened, then he appeared out of thin air. Then he threw something on the ground and was surrounded by smoke, but Zepfina was ready for him when he came out."
There is no problem taking him to a cell in the longhouse, but it is getting quite late at night.
Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8
Zigil will detect magic and note any magical items, and will also take his weapons, equipment, including the pouch. (He will keep them separate from the loot, in case this guy turns out to be less guilty than he looks.)
Does the key look like it might have fit the iron door where Othdan was locked up?
If we haven't, we will search the remains of the troll for any interesting items as well.
We can question him in the morning. We should get Othdan to identify him as well.
Male Elder GM
The contents of the full potion vials are magical, as is his belt.
The key is the appropriate size for the coal room where Othdan was imprisoned.
The troll has nothing.
Zigil may use Spellcraft to identify the items, or somebody else may use detect magic and Spellcraft. Perception may also be used to do a "taste test" on potions. And Craft (Alchemy) may identify some of the other things.

Zigil is fairly sure that the first potion is of cure light wounds, but nobody can identify the other yet.
The coal has been coated with some sort of powder. Giles has experience with various flammable powders, and he is fairly certain this one would not make the coal any sort of weapon.
Male Elder GM
Assuming there is nothing further...
The heroes retire for the night, hoping to get a few hours of sleep before dawn.
