Turg summons another stampede, which promptly runs over one of the statues, shattering it to pieces.
The last statue swings its blade at Barlor, but doesn't penetrate his armor.

Pulling out her holy symbol of Pharasma and holding it aloft, Maddie channels positive energy to heal all living creatures within 30'.

Being constructs, I believe Caryatid Columns do not benefit from channeling.

Pai continues her cantrip, scanning the room for magic, as the group prepares to enter the sanctum proper.
Cast Detect Magic.

DM Rah |

Pai, nothing new in the way of magic then discovered before and the southern door seems identical to the northern door.
After clearing the southern door, you open it and look through into a chamber with eight statues of regal figures garbed in ancient finery lining the walls of a wide hallway. Peering southward, each bears a brief transcription on its base written in an ancient script. The stairs to the south lead up to a ninth statue, taller than the others. This figure holds a mighty glass sword above its smooth, featureless face, and its other hand juts outward, palm upturned as if seeking alms.
The faceless statue’s armor, sword, and pose suggest the old god Aroden, and kneeling before it, caught in mid-prayer, is non other than Rozimus of Tymon. He seems less bedraggled then the last time you saw him, and as he stands, he puts his hand to a sword at his side. Looking very cautious, he asks, "Who are you!?

![]() |

"We're the Pathfinders you got sent down here since all your friends got killed or something. I don't know, I wasn't really listening." Turg responds, avoiding his name, forgetting the guy's name. "You gave us your gem or something." She waves her hands at whomever has the Ioun Stone. "Show him."

Pai waits until a lull in the conversation before filling the others in on what she recalled about the faceless statue.

Maddie nods with interest as Pai relates facts about the faceless statue, her face frozen in concentration for a few moments as she takes mental notes. Afterwards, she attempts a softer approach with the 3rd Rozimus, "Pardon us, but we're exploring the Sanctum. We mean you no harm. Might you tell us what you're doing down here all alone? Before we left, we met someone who looked exactly likely you, do you have any idea of who that might be?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

DM Rah |

"I'm sorry, what?" Rozimus looks genuinely confused by Turg's words. "You're Pathfinders? I don't remember having met any of you before. I've been stranded down here for hours, separated from my friends, if any are still left alive. How did you get past the statues? Can you get me back out of here?"
1d20 ⇒ 8 ]
Pai, he seems sincere.

![]() |

"You seem truthful, but you must know that our group has met you before. We were tasked the mission of exploring this place by you, or someone who looked like you, after your group of adventurers were lost. Can you tell us more about this place?"

![]() |

Maddie steps away as Pai speaks up, casting Detect Thoughts concentrated on Rozimus 3.
She'll concentrate all three rounds to get Rozimus' surface thoughts, if applicable/time allows. DC 15 Will save to resist direct mind reading.

DM Rah |

"We didn't get too far." Rozimus says. "In an audience chamber across from the entrance to this place there were three doors - red, blue, and yellow I think. The red door opened when Gursh touched it with a hand bearing a red rune, which was placed there by one of the faces in the entrance chamber. Beyond that door we encountered a huge slithering, reptile. It had many legs and a fearsome head crowned with two large, curling horns. It breathed lightning on Ozrion, then swallowed Gursh. Calea yelled at me to run..."
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Save successful. No thoughts read.

![]() |

"Welp, it doesn't sound like that's the first door we will enter then, does it," Pai asks as she looks at the others. "How does the nice blue one sound to the rest of you?"

![]() |

To clarify, Rozimus registered as a thinking creature? Also, what's his intelligence score?
Maddie adds nothing to the conversation at this time, her face frozen in concentration and perhaps slight annoyance.

![]() |

"If its got the weakest, doesn't that mean we've got the easiest time? I don't understand the objection, not that I ever actually get what you say most of the time." Turg responds, dismissing the unsociable cows.

"And knowing it uses lightning, we can prepare for that, yes?" The Varisian nods to Rozimus. "Your fellows...did they look like this?" László describes the people seen in the vision near the entrance.

![]() |

"Not precisely...we saw a vision of them, and you, trying to leave through the mists at the entrance. It was that vision that led us to discover that only with an ioun stone could one depart this place."

![]() |

Before we go any further, Rozimus, do you require any healing?" Maddie asks, looking the man over.

Rozimus is at full health, having run fast and consumed potions upon finding a safe place to hold up.
The group returns through the statue room and opens the door back into the entrance chamber. There, standing on the ledge above the faces, is the creature described by Rozimus. It lets loose a roar that crackles with lightning and six clawed legs extend, ready to attack!

László protects himself from electricity.
Ayaki runs in and attacks, but his sword glances off the creatures tough hide. Akuma has better luck, sinking its teeth into a joint in one of its legs.
Pai sends magic missiles at the behir, giving it two small bruises.
"Oh no!" Rozimus ducks for cover when he sees the creature. "That's it! That's what attacked us!"
Barlor begins summoning.
Turg sends in her aurochs, but the behir's huge size, elevated position, tricky stairs, and a Tengu with a cat in the way, make a stampede impossible. Instead, they stomp in and milk about, mostly ineffective, but presenting themselves as great targets for its lightening breath weapon.
