Savage drinks the concoction and looks over his shoulder at the gnome.

"I don't mind Pad. Just hold your..." **SPLASH!**

The young Ulfen man cannonballs into the water with the reckless abandon of an angry orca.

Even with the added weight of Pad, Savage should still average above a 20 swim check while taking ten.

Ooc: you have a swim speed of 30 and a +8 to swim check from the Touch of Sea extract... Savage.

Isis watches the cliff diving from just above the water...which Bast does not like at all.

She prepares to dive in to save Savage as necessary.

Then taking ten gets me a 35

Gerri jumps off the cliff side, with his ultra inferior strength barely clearing the rocks.

Savage starts ahead and swims and dives at the shoreline. After a while he discovers a big hole just 20ft below the waterline. Swimmimg inside he and Pad find the dragon's lar - +1 blinding heavy steel shield, 2 vials of elixir of vision, a gray bag of tricks, an incandescent blue sphere ioun stone, a lesser silent metamagic rod, 200 pp, 800 gp, 3,000 sp, and 50,000 cp.

about 2h have passed, and magic is allowed, and each of you can try once each idol, but in there you are on your own

Isis politely declines the idoltry, perferring instead to stay focused on winning the tournament.

Sure Savage accepts the pain challenge.

Dora is looking at the various devices as well. She will pop an air crystal and volunteer for the drowning idol unless someone else wanted it. She could also try the pain idol.

"Let me see if I can hold my breath in here after practicing with the dragon lair."

As this should be our teams last challenge for the day, Gerri will do four idols; the Poison Idol, the Pain Idol, the Winter Idol and the Firey Idol.

Gerri will offer to do the Drowning Idol, but only if they will use kerosene as the fluid. To help keep the crowds interest.

Savage will only volunteer for others after he survives the first, anything else is putting the mammoth before the caravan.

Dora agrees with Savages approach, mammoth or no.

Declining but offering any buffs to participants. Just ask me and consider it done.

If we don't have to select all up front.. Gerri will also just start with the Poison Idol.

Have some of those infernal Healings ready backpack.

Gerri, hardened by being an alchemist, steps into the Poison Idol Toxic fumes - insanity mist, surround him. After 10 rounds, he emerges, as if nothing has happened and is awarded a Potion of neutralize poison.

Savage steps into the pain idol, abd then the door is closed behind him. And then needles get shoved into him, one after eahc other for 10 rounds, 20 needles in total. First the crowd cheers, but seem rahther disappointed to not see a puddle of blood coming out.
10d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 3, 3, 2) = 19 damage in total. With DR2 Savage takes 3 damage and receives a Potion of bear’s endurance.

What buffs do you use for the other three challenges?And sorry, they don't have kerosine

Gerri will get drink Alchemical Allocation and Potion of Stoneskin for Pain Idol.

Then use Elixir of Resist Energy, Cold (20) for Winter Idol.

Finally take an Elixir of Elemental Body I, but not swallow it. Once locked inside the Firey Idol, swallow the Elixir and turn into a small Fire Elemental (immune to fire).

Gerri suspects the Drowning Idol has to deal with water, but can not enter water (non-flammable liquid) as a Fire Elemental. I was hoping for the Kerosene. ;)

"Still got any of that water breathing tonic eunuch?"

How did Dora fare in the drowning idol?.

Stepping out of the drowning idol, Dora starts drying and combing her hair.

"If Mr. Gerri takes those last three, then we should have them all covered. "

"Mighty Savage, I do not, but I would need just a minute to make an extract for you."

We can wait on Dora's result.

Dora gets put in the idol, which gets filled with water. One minute passes, where the air crystal works just fine, but the door does not get opened. Dora starts to hold her breath, after two minutes, the door is still closed, so after 3 minutes.
And when she runs out of breath (after 28 rounds) the door is still closed). Constitution checks!

With his immunity to fire, Gerri has no problems managing the fiery idol - and receives a Potion of protection from energy, fire

Leaves just the Winter Idol

The Firey Idol is Gerri's last Idol, otherwise he has to wait 10 minutes before he can do any other idols.

I don't think it would effect Gerri's results but elemental body I only grants resist fire 20 as a fire elemental. It is a mistake I made often on my first druid, the spell is very specific on what abilities you get based on what form you choose.

Well I'll be... It helps when I read the entire line of text. I normally only use it for the Wind Elemental form, and that form has no resistance or immunities. Thanks for pointing out my oversight, Ward.

I hope resist fire 20 is enough, if not I don't think resist cold 20 will be enough for the Winter Idol.

Not sure how many constitution checks are needed so will just throw a few out there.

She starts getting worried by the 3rd one.

And just checking - Dora has 10 rounds from the Air Crystal plus her usual 28 rounds of 2x constitution, so she has been in the chamber for almost 4 minutes (38 rounds) when she makes her first drown check?

Dora, holding her breath, notices that after 4 minutes the door gets opened and she gets released from her watery prison and nearly doom. And is presented with a Potion of water breathing.

ooc: the last idol?

Gerri is doing the last idol, Winter Idol, after drinking an extract of Resist Cold (20), after the Elemental Body wears off.

"Wow that seemed like an eternity...and so dark too. I think I was starting to turn blue but of course I could not tell since I could not see...and I did not have a mirror!"

Gerri has no problems with the last idol and receives a Potion of protection from energy, cold!

With this the days event come to a close. After sundown, the Emissary offers another night of festivities at the Grand Pavilion, featuring highwire acrobatics performances, fireworks, a tengu swordsmanship show, comedy skits, and elaborate puppet shows. Commoners and eliminated contestants join the festivities, but Marthysan is noticeably absent. When the paladin is called forth by the Emissary to participate in a stunt, even the wise Emissary seems surprised at his absence.

Strange.

Savage decides to keep a vigilant lookout for any fishy activity.

Gerri, remembering his suspicions of the Hobgoblin and Risha from a couple of nights ago, asks Pad and Dora if they see members of that group anywhere, as they where with him that night.

"He was so interested in me from the first day. I hope he is not heartbroken for want of my attentions," Isis says, wiping some boogery from her face.

"I shall go check on him, poor dear. He probably feels like I've been neglecting him."

Isis will cast fly and go to Marthysan's abode, seeking her suitor.

Dora looks around for the members of the hobgoblin band that Gerri mentioned.

"The festivities after the daily events are almost as much fun. I need to see if I can find some more foods from other lands I have never tried. This is all still so exciting just to be here. Savage, did I show you the potion they gave me? I think Mr. Gerri had like three!!!"

When she thinks nobody is looking she sneaks some food to Boots outside.

Ward laughs at Savage's cleaver joke, and enjoys the evening festivites.
