History:

Leif Odinson died many years ago. He was born in Gojko, which is located within The Verge, which in turn is located within Irrisen. His father was a lowborn Ulfen chef for a local Jadwiga family, and the 10 year old Leif was responsible for the butchering of the meat that his father would later prepare for the Jadwiga’s delight. Leif and his family lived a destitute life, subsisting on little more than meat scraps when times were good, and cold gruel when times were lean, which was most of the time. His father made it no secret that he mistrusted his wife, who he felt was sleeping with the Jadwiga in order to gain food items for herself. Sadly his father’s fears were confirmed when he and Leif, after a long day laboring in the kitchen walked in on them in the act. Leif gazed upon his father and watched as the normally docile man snapped. Leif’s father lunged at the Jadwiga and wrapped his gnarled fingers around his neck. Leif watched as the last breaths of life escaped the Jadwiga’s body. The boy watched in silence, unable to move, unable to think, being only able to watch. His father then diverted his attention to his whore of a wife and strangled her as well cursing her very existence in skaald. Trembling Leif yelled out to his father “Stop father!”. But it was far too little too late, the aged chef looked up at his son, his bone white fingers still wrapped around his wife's neck and screamed at Leif “Run!! They will kill us both for my crimes child!” The words rang true, Leif would be implicated for murder as well because of his father’s crime of passion, the life of a Jadwiga is worth more than 1 million Ulfen peasant lives. So the young Leif ran, and did not stop running until Gojko could no longer be seen on the horizon. He ran until there was nothing around him but snow in all directions. Knowing nothing of geography, he remembered his father’s tales of the Grungir Forest in the southwest, and attempted to make haste in that directions as best as he could. With no maps or no real knowledge of anywhere outside of Gojko, Leif wandered aimlessly and was hopelessly lost in the wilds of the frigid north.

The wilds of Irrisen are no place for a ten year old child and it was not long before Leif was succumbing to the environment that so desired and attempted to steal his life at every opportunity. Ready to stare death in the eyes and fall into Pharasma's clutches, yet unwilling to quit. Leif carried on until his legs could hold him up no longer. He stumbled and fell in what must have been the site of an ancient battle between the Linnorm kings and the White Witches. Trembling, he collapsed to the ground surrounded by the skeletons and frozen remains of mighty warriors. Feeling powerless, he prayed to any deity that might hear his words. Knowing each breath he took could very well be his last, Leif thought about his life, he thought about how he was treated in Irrisen, he let the rage consume him, he wanted revenge, he wanted to punish the white witches, the Jadwiga, the fury of battle raged in him. He picked up a great sword that was being clutched by a skeletal hand that lay next to him; he trembled not from the elements and the frigid cold, but rather his rage. Shaking he clutched the great sword as tightly has his hands would allow and forced himself to his feet. As a blistering snow storm manifested around him, he watched as two suits of armor animated and commenced battle. Immune to the elements, Leif watched the two suits possessed by their risen skeleton hosts wage a war, the skeletal champions seemed not to notice Leaf and fought until one landed a telling blow in victory. With that the skeleton turned and faced Leif. The young boy tightened his grip on the sword and awaited the inevitable; he prayed for guidance… then unexpectedly he received it. A bellow of a voice erupted in his head telling him “Win and you will survive the winter warrior child.” Tapping into a reservoir of pain and suffering and possessed by the power of Gorum, the child Leif commenced and unwinnable battle against and undead foe. Feeling guidance from another realm Leif’s blade landed blow after blow until the skeleton fell. Only then was Leif at peace, he finally allowed himself to collapse again in the snow and succumb to winters embrace. Fate had a different plan, Leif surprisingly woke the next morning with a beautiful elven woman staring into his eyes and a holy symbol of Gorum scarred on his chest.

“What are you doing out here alone human child?” the elven lady asked as she hovered over him. His mouth reacted before his mind and he told the tale that I just told you. The elf looked quizzically at the human child and said simply "Come with me human child." She was what most peope call a Snowcaster Elf, they typically shun outsiders and she was taking a huge risk by taking a human with her. Her common name was Midnight Huntress and she and her wife Winter Solstice who happened to be the Twilight Speaker of their group yearned for child of their own to raise in the worst way. Midnight Huntress decided that she would take the human boy Leif to their community near the crown of the world and raise him as their child. Snowcaster Elven society was not really kind to poor Leif. Despite being bigger, stronger, and tougher than the other children, the elven children were more nimble, and intelligent, they tormented the human boy mercilessly. While the other children fenced and danced Leif worked with his hard won greatsword. There was however one Elven tradition the young ulfen excelled at, he was a natural with a bow. Unknown to at the time, his life with the elves, made him much more nimble and acrobatic than your average human. Shortly after his arrival in Snowcaster society, he was commanded to forever conceal his human name from outsiders and adopt a sobriquet according to their local customs. When it was time to change his name the bellowing voice erupted once again from the heavens and the world around him, this time for everyone to hear, He was to be named Savage Vengeance.

That is the day that I Savage Vengeance was born. Despite my best efforts I was always out of place in the tribe, both of my mothers tried their best to make me feel wanted and accepted, but being a human raised amongst Snowcaster elves, I could really never hope to gain full acceptance, or really even partial acceptance for that matter. I would always be the human boy and would always be an outsider or second class citizen. As a young teenager I came to the conclusion, that in every point in my life I was indeed a second class citizen, whether it was the ruling Jadwiga in Irrisen, or the elves that raised me near the crown of the World, I would never be anybody of any renown if I remained in the North. On the eve of my seventeenth birthday my life would forever be changed again. I fell asleep before the fire as I had done so many times before, only this time my dreams were visited by a Dragon made of Iron. His name was Saint Fang, and the great iron beast told me that I was one of Gorum’s chosen, the dragon bade me awake and instructed me to head to Absalom. Along the road to Absalom my travels provided ample opportunity to improve my skill as one of Gorum's warriors, travelling the land, winning and losing contests of might, all while honing my abilities with my greatsword along the long and winding path until I finally arrived in Absalom.

While in Absalom I decided to join the Pathfinder Society. I wanted to learn how to defend myself from the many different fighting styles from around the far reaches of Golarion; I wanted to challenge foes of all races, creeds, species, and planes. That and the Grand Lodge had free room and board. After completing my training and becoming an agent the society has utilized me for many important endeavors, but my main purpose is still security detail while on missions. I’m not much for looting or plundering, and in my service to the society, I try not to get involved in all of the politics corrupting and rotting the Grand Lodge from within. Ambrus Valsin trusts me, and I trust him. He knows where I stand, and what I stand for. I am Savage Vengeance, and I will live up to my name. I will refuse to die until my service to Gorum is complete.

Savage competed in and won the Ruby Phoenix tournament after defeating a Brine Dragon in its lair. He feels he is nearly ready to return to his peoples homeland and challenge a Linnorm.
