Ezro peers closely at the spider through the dim light before finally realizing it was dead. Relaxing somewhat and putting away his blade, he quickly shifts his focus to the other individuals who were injured.

"It appears to be dead. I suggest we quickly take stock of our situation. I am going to help the wounded."

Walking over to the elven man, "Please be calm, I am going to sit you down. You have taken a serious wound to your eyes. Be calm." He places a hand gently on his shoulder and guides him to an area of the ground without any obstructions. Seeing the man seemed healthy to give commands, he turns to the injured woman and begins work on seeing to her broken leg.

"My friends, if anyone else is at all trained in medicine, I would be most grateful to your aid."

If there is time Ezro would be taking 20 for each individual, otherwise: Anevia - Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20, Aravashnial - Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24, Horgus - Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

edit: Apparently forget the noble LOL.

Aladir glances back and forth from the group in the cavern to the spider. With no reaction at all from taking an arrow and a bolt, it's almost certainly dead, but there was still something that bugged him. How long ago did it die? What killed it? If there was something else that killed it, was that something still there in the cavern?

Nervously, his eyes flicked to and fro in the cavern, looking at floor, walls, and ceiling, apparently expecting some bogey-man to jump out at them at any moment.

Quinn follows Ezro. "I don't know a lot about medicine, but I guess I can help fashion a crutch." He begins rummaging through the pile of fallen debris, moving the pieces he can, and casting aside refuse, while looking for something useful as a splint and crutch.

The spider takes the bolt and the arrow and does not even flinch. Ezro concludes that it is dead and there is no arguing with that assessment. Hyram slides his longsword back into its scabbard and slings his shield back on his back.

I know something of the healing arts, I can lend a hand. He then whispers to Ezro, I also have a healing spell prepared, we can use it for one who you feel is worse off than others. At the word others, Hyram glances at the noble, Horgus, since among the blinded elf and the woman with the crushed leg, this noble seems to be in the better shape.

He will then follow Ezro as he visits the wounded, but since the priest seems so adept in assessing each individual, Hyram does not think there is anything to add. @Ezro: Even without taking 20 that some good heal checks!

Quinn looks around the cavern, scanning the walls within the range of his vision for any way out. His gaze traces around to the ceiling of the cavern, closed entirely above them. He then realizes the number of faces with whom he is unacquainted.

"It's going to be quite a trek back to the surface," Quinn drags his pack out from under the rubble. By the strangest coincidence he was evicted right before this tragedy, so he was carrying all of his meager possessions on him. Perhaps not coincidence... The Inheritor's providence, then.

"My name is Quinn Prable. Though, I am now known more commonly as Quinn Inktooth." There is no doubt how Quinn came by that nickname. Even in the dim light, his enormous, ebon teeth are obvious. "Despite my appearance," he taps one of his vestigial horns, "you may trust that I will do everything in my power to see you all back safely to the surface."

After giving a quick once-over to the grating noble man, Alikia hefts her pack onto her back before approaching Quinn. "I'm glad to hear that, Quinn Prable. I am Alikia Sokol, student of the arcane arts and specialist on beings from other planes." Extending a hand, Alikia glances up towards the ceiling of the chamber, unable to discern how far they fell or how long their trek could take, but willing to put her trust in Quinn.

"How long do you think it will take? I have almost a dozen torches and some rations, but I'd prefer to not use them up right away. If everyone is able to be moved," sparing a quick glance at the blind elf and Anevia, "I think we should start our journey. Who knows where the demons went after.." trailing off, Alikia couldn't bring herself to admit that not even Terendelev could defeat the Storm Lord.

As Ezro moves over to the elven man who had lost his eyes, he speaks up, "I am Ezro Lindran, priest of Iomedea."

He begins investigating the mans eyes and face, before he takes a strip of cloth and begins wrapping the mans head.

"I am sorry sir, I highly doubt you will be able to see again, the damage is intensive, and I do not know any magics that can regrow lost tissue."

He looks over to Aladir for a moment, "Perhaps your abilities could come in handy for getting us out of here. As for light," he says, looking over to Alikia, "I have some sunrods in my pack, they are usually good for a good number of hours. Outside of that, I was not planning on falling into a deep, dark pit today."

As Hyram lends a hand, he gives the man a smile of thanks, "Thank you, sir. Any help is much appreciated. I do not wish to call upon the aid of Iomedea just yet. Only the Inheritor knows what we may come across, before we are safely out of here."

Ezro heads back to the elf, sits him down on a large rock, inspects his wounds and begins to bandage them, while talking to him. (Aravashnial:) "Thank you. Where are we? What happened?" he asks.

Hyram walks to Ezro and the elf also, and offers to help.

Alikia approaches the man in finery and tries to sooth his feelings but he replies, (Horgus:) "Don't speak to me like that half-breed. Do you know who I am?" he practically shrieks.

Quinn, at Aladir's request approaches the spider, and as the two of them get about ten feet away, the husk bursts open and two enormous maggots with greasy, pale flesh and a dripping, circular mouth filled with tiny, sharp teeth approach the two of them with their mouths open.

Wrinkling up her nose, Alikia could have gone her whole life without knowing what maggot vomit smelled like. At least she wasn't the one covered in it. Turning her attention back to the loathsome human, Alikia raises an eyebrow, "I may be a 'half breed' but you sir are a half-wit. Do you think whatever wealth we had on the surface translates into anything down here? I would think that being dropped in a hole would be a great equalizer for everyone. Our old lives fell with Terendelev, so you can either get on board with helping out, or you can stay here and get eaten by a passing grub."

Drawing herself up to her full height at 6'3, Alikia towered over the pudgy human. Her voice was full of cold, harsh truth that echoed off of the cavern wall. With click of her shoes, she turned with a flourish to march over to the spider carcass, intent to ignore the miserable excuse of a nobleman and figure out if the bugs were hiding any sort of useful supplies.

Alikia will move to area Q 19. I'll also hazard to guess that she'll need to make an intimidate check to keep Horgus quiet for a moment.

"I don't suppose one of you might have a spell of water creation available today? If you have that particular cantrip I would be extremely grateful for a few castings of it to wash this muck off."

Before anyone can respond, he looks to Horgus and speaks to the man, attempting to reason with him even while covered in the maggot retch.

"I'm afraid that for the time being, sir, you may have to put aside your grievances with our group. I would imagine we are your best hope of escaping this cavern collapse with your life. That being the case, I would say we should all work together to maximize our chances of making it back to the surface."

Aladir looks around for something to scrape off the gunk, but other than rags from a few dead bodies under the rubble, the only thing he notices are some silver colored scales.

Quinn walks over to Anevia, and assists her as she looks to be in severe pain as she tries to stand.

(Anevia:) "Thanks for killing those things. I will need some healing and a splint or I will have to be left behind." she says and then even though Quinn is helping her, she just can not stand on the leg, and sits on the large rock next to her.

Ezro and Hyram go back to inspecting the Elf, Woman and even Horgus.

After Quinn helps Anevia, and turns her over to the healers, he speaks to Horgus, and even though the man looks to be angry still, he calms down somewhat.

Ezro takes his time helping to heal the injured individuals. Taking especially great care in the aid of the elf and the human woman. He mutters blessings and prayers to Iomedea as he works.

Holding his holy symbol he gives a prayer to Iomedea and releases the positive energy that built within him, warmth and a feeling of health flowing through the area.

"I hope that helped those in need. I do not wish to spend too much energy for fear of what we may face ahead of us. I believe it prudent to be careful of our resources."

Ezro works to fashion a splint of some kind out of his rope and and his sheathed dagger, hopping to provide something long and rigid enough to do the trick.

"We may not have a crutch available, but I can hold you up if need be. I am not a fighter, I will not be missed on the front right away."

Hyram grabs the woman's hand. Fret not! No one will be left behind. We are all in this together even though some of us eyes glance at Horgus are just starting to realize that. You are in good hands with Ezro here. He is favored by The Inheritor.

Hyram looks around and notices the dead bodies still visible under the rubble. Perhaps before we leave this area, we can finish burying the deceased, and perhaps we might identify them in case they have loved ones still on the surface above. Hyram glances to where the rift had closed sealing off the sky. What does the surface above look like now?

Ezro shifts his focus towards the elven man.

"Someone will need to lead you sir. A broken leg is one thing, for this young woman, but she can at least see so as not to break the other. I worry that in your state you may succumb to further injuries..."

Ezro trails off as he looks towards the noble man.

"Sir, I believe it may be time for you to earn your keep. What I request is fairly simple. Please guide this man carefully on our journey. We will be sure not to move to quickly. I would be most thankful for your help."

Quinn helps ease Anevia back into a seated position upon the rock. "We are leaving no one behind, lady. Trust in that."

Aladir Cyruthion wrote:

Quinn walks over and looks to see what Aladir has found. He picks one of the silver scales and holds it closer to the lights shed by his companions. The gleam of silver leaves him feeling an overwhelming sadness. The memory of a true champion and defender reaching out a broken claw to save a few more lives, even as death fell upon him. "Terendelev..." he whispers.

Alikia speaks to the elf, and hands him a potion which he drinks, and a few of his wounds close up.

(Aravashnial:) "Thank you, that helps. I am Aravashnial."

Ezro, channels the Inheritors energy which heals both Anevia and Aravashnial and then using his healing skills, helps them some more. He then looks them over again, to see how their wounds look now.

Ezro:
Anevia @ 50%, Aravashnial @ 33% - @ 60% after the Cure Mod Potion

Both Ezro and Hyram work on a splint for Anevia, using some of the broken weapons, spears specifically, and rope, to tie them around her leg, and one to use as a crutch. They also bandage Aravashnial eyes to keep them clean using rags that they find in the rubble.

After the healing, both Anevia and Aravashnial speak to Ezro and Hyram,

(Anevia:) "I have some alchemist fire, smoke sticks and some silk rope that we can use as needed. I can also use my bow, but I only have 4 arrows left." Her demeanor seems to friendly to the group.

(Aravashnial:) "Once again, thank you. I have some potions in my pack, if they have survived that are for healing. I can give you back your potion, and we can use the others to help those of us in need. I also have some useful scrolls for a wizard. I also have memorized the following spells, that I will cast if some one will help me. heroism, magic circle against evil, summon monster III, acid arrow, levitate, resist energy, summon monster II, mage armor, shield, sleep(DC 15), summon monster I,
and true strike. One of each. I can also cast detect magic at will."
With that he rummages around in his pack, and pulls out a potion, fiddles with a raised glyph on it, and holds it out. "Give this to whoever needs some healing." He then pulls another potion out and holds it out. "This will replace the potion that you gave me." Rummaging one last time, he pulls out another potion and gulps it down, and you see more of his wounds close.

Ezro then talks to the man, and makes his simple request in the most diplomatic terms. Finally, a very good diplomacy roll!!!

(Horgus:) "Harrumph. Well, I can do that." and his demeanor has gone from hostile to friendly with Ezro's skillful handling of him.

Aladir, meanwhile, notices a few silver scales on the ground, and picks one up. He seems to pause a moment, then looks around.

Quinn also picks up one of the silver scales, and rightly identifies it as a scale from the silver dragon Terendelev, but then he pauses a moment also.

Looking around there are a total of five scales.

Aladir:
Cloudwalking: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast levitate. A pillar of roiling clouds rises below the levitating object or creature, growing and shrinking with the target’s altitude. This pillar is 5 feet in diameter (regardless of the target’s size) and provides concealment (20% miss chance) to any creature or object wholly contained within.

Quinn:
Sacred Weaponry: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast align weapon, but only to make a weapon lawful or good. Unlike a normal align weapon spell, this effect can be cast on an unarmed strike or natural weapon.

"Seems there are enough of these scales for each of us to have one." the elf remarks, holding onto his own scale as he hands the other three out to Ezro, Hyram, and Alikia.

"Alright...standing around talking isn't going to help us get out of here. We need to get moving. The cave-in may attract the attention of things down here we don't want the attention of. We should keep the injured close to the center of the group since they are least able to defend themselves. Horgus, are you at all skilled with a weapon? I realize it may not be ideal, but every blade that can help contribute makes our chance of getting back to the surface better."

Do Quinn and Aladir automatically know what the scales can do?

Quinn stores the scale away and edges around the cavern walls, looking for any means of egress. "Darkness holds few secrets from me," Quinn's red eyes glow through the gloom. "I can walk the paths without a light to guide me. Shall I take the vanguard?"

Quinn's not much for stealth, but he's the only one with darkvision. For the start, I don't mind taking first in marching order.

Ezro nods to Horgus, "Thank you, I am sure the Inheretor smiles upon you now."

Finishing his task of bandaging and healing the injured he turns to Quinn and Aladir, taking one of the offered scales, and looking around.

"Thank you, I suppose Terendelev had yet one more gift to give us, a great hero that dragon, I am sure the world will mourn the passing. Quinn, I believe your taking the vanguard would be a good idea. I am good on the front line to the benefit of others. My fighting prowess, I have to admit, is fairly sub-par. Aladir is right though. We should get moving as soon as we can." Ezro sighs and draws his sword and shield.

"I will take up the middle with the injured. We should move slowly though. Horgus has graciously agreed to guide Aravashnial through the caverns with us. I would rather us move slowly and safely than to get more injuries."

Alikia's eyes widen as the Aravanshnial lists off his repository of spells. She could barely keep in mind the glyphs needed for three spells."Thank you. I am Alikia. I'm a wizard as well, I have memorized a few spells too. I can cast shocking grasp, summon monster I, and mage armor. I might be able to use those scrolls."

Taking the two potions that Aravanshnial held out, she placed the second one in her bag to replace the one that she had offered and handed the other to Anevia. "My hit on the maggot was a fluke. I can take up the rear to ensure that nothing sneaks up behind us. Once combat breaks out, I prefer to stay as far away from the foe as possible."

Quietly accepting a scale from Aladir, she turns it over a few times during her inspection, before placing it in her belt pouch for safe keeping. "I'm afraid I don't have that much in the way of normal arrows. I only carry crossbow bolts, but I have around 50 of them, all cold iron." she tells Anevia, as she taps the small quiver of eight she keeps strapped to leg.

Hyram holds the scale in his hands and for a few moments he remembers that last terrible fight and the noble dragon's death. Not much can shake Hyram, but the memory of that causes an involuntary shudder. He slips the scale into his backpack. Hyram looks around and sees that everyone is getting ready to leave. It seems even surly Horgus is ready to pitch in. Iomedae works in mysterious ways! Hyram thinks seeing the man's new attitude. He looks again at some of the partially buried bodies, and knows that they should be completely buried, but Aladir is correct. We don't know what creatures might be attracted to the cave-in and with some still hurt, it will be best to find a way back to the surface. Hyram will say a silent prayer to Iomedae that these souls have found a place by whatever deity they worshipped in life.

Afterwards he turns to the party. I am good with a sword and shield and don't mind taking the lead with Quinn, however my eyesight is not good at all in the dark so I will need some sort of light source. He unsheathes his sword and swings his shield from his back. I am ready to go whenever all of you are.

- Regarding the scales. When someone holds one they know what it does automatically.
- Question for group. Do you want me to continue with spoilers for this kind of information, or just say it in an OOC comment? Either way is fine with me, just looking for consensus from the group.
- Come up with a marching order please. Horgus will help Aravashnial. Anevia will be able to hobble along at 15 movement. They should not be completely at the back but more towards the middle.

DM rolls:

CMW potion: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 3 = 11

Alikia:

Potion given to Anevia - Cure Moderate Wounds
Potion to replace yours - Cure Light Wounds
Scale - Quinn has the right of it, it is a scale from Terendelev.

Aladir / Alikia:

Graceful Movement: Three times per day a scale can be used to cast feather fall. Alternately as a standard action, a scale can be used to grant the target a +4 competence bonus to Acrobatics and Fly checks for 1 minute.

Aladir / Ezro:

Resistance: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast resist elements—but only against electricity or cold.

Aladir / Hyram:

Bolstering: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast aid. Against evil outsiders, the bonuses to attack rolls and to saves against fear increase to +2.

(Anevia:) "That is much better." says the woman, as she quaffs down the potion, and all her wounds heal. She looks at both Aladir and Quinn, and asks "would you mind letting me have a few arrows? With only 4 left, I won't be much help in getting us out of here."

(Aravashnial:) "If the scrolls are needed, you may certainly use them. When we get out of here, I will let you peruse my spellbook for ones you can use. However, let us get moving. It is dangerous down here."

(Horgus:) "Harrumph." says the middle aged man. "I am Horgus Gwerm. I have trained somewhat with a rapier, but know little of any other weapon. I however will help the elf and the woman as we move." While he seems friendly to the group, you can tell there is some kind of resentment from him towards both Anevia and Aravashnial that has not been spoken of yet.

As Quinn walks around the cavern, he notices two passageways out of the cavern, both heading west.

Going off of everyone's responses, tentative marching order(?): Quinn, Hyram, Ezro & Anevia, Horgus & Aravashniel, Alikia, Aladir. Quinn's best speed in armor is 20 feet. So, he'll move forward at hsi speed until he loses sight of the group (darkvision, 60 ft.), then wait for them to catch up.

Without even a guess which direction is most likely to carry them to the surface, Quinn begins down the northernmost passage.

Giving one last glance to the cave in behind her, Alikia follows five feet behind Anevia using her quarterstaff as a walking stick. Attempting to hide how giddy the prospect of new spells made her, she disinterestedly watches the route ahead and behind her, to ensure that there were no sudden surprises. Her light barely reaches in front of Horgus, casting the area before him into dim light, where she can see normally. "Ezro, would you mind moving up a bit?
