René blinks as one his meat shields runs away. Now why didn't I think of just doing that. Now it would look look extra bad if I followed suit. But I guess so long as we still have two, I still have a shot at getting away with my life if-- when things go south. Plus knowing my luck, I'd just run into more of the creatures while looking for the way out...

Still slightly dazed, René shakes his head. "Wha...oh yeah, right. Onwards?" He indicates the one exit from the room.

Tylur looks at Nimreass as he strides off to back to town. 'Another time I would have followed just the same. There can be no fault in his choice.' Tylur looked on at the others their faces but determined to find Tsuto and whatever else was brewing down here.

"I am ready. Let's move on."

Tylur sees the stair going down. "Before proceeding we should see what the rest of these catacombs hides. I think we missed a passage heading east in the previous room and there looks like there is a another passage in this room. Let us head down the passage in this room if we are lucky it will meet up with the other one. Once cleared then I feel safe proceeding down below."

Disappointing. The one time I thought an Elf-blood might prove himself worthy of my respect... how foolish of me.

"I hope you find a lifestyle that suits you better", Logar says to Nimreass with a superficially warm nod. He wipes some of the sinspawn's brains from his tankard and reattaches it to his belt, looking around at the party, as if hoping for them to expect him to follow the half-elf.

"Do not worry. I know what I signed up for when I joined you down here, and by my tusk and my tankard I will make sure you all return to Sandpoint safely when this is over to make your own decision, to stay or to leave."

He closes his eyes and smiles, his own words filling himself with confidence.

"Let's move."

Was it something I said? Cordwin thinks as he sees the departing Nimerass. He shrugs and joins the others. Let's hope that was the last of those fellas. he says motioning to the dead sinspawns,

Cordwin doesn't mind taking the lead.

Before moving further into this area, Cordwin uses his wand of curing(2 Charges) and heals most of his own wounds. The Bard then leads the search of the cells in this area, and after finding nothing useful, everyone decides to move back up to the wooden platform and continue to the east. After twenty feet you come to a room, with a door to the south and a door to the east.

This room contains several ancient relics of what appear to be torture implements, although their function and style seem strange and archaic. In one corner sits a spherical cage with spikes protruding inward from its iron bars. In another stands what appears to be a star-shaped wooden frame, its surface studded with hooks. And in the center of the room is a long table covered with leather straps and a number of cranks that seem designed to rotate and swivel.

René's eye twitches. "What in tarnation were these here fellas up to down here? This ain't no normal smuggler's outfit, no sireebob. Iff'n we survive what's ta come, I reckon we should come back here an' turn this lot inta scrap metal."

Hadley twitches his nose in agreement and René's words, taking a special dislike to what is clearly a hamsterball of death.

Eying the implements warily, René gives them a wide bearth, choosing instead to check out the two doors.

Mostly trying to listen in for sounds on the other side of the doors. Though he may as well also check for traps while he's at it.

Cordwin is fascinated by the various torture implements and wishes he had more time to study and document them. Not that he was into torture mind you, but just the history. Many of these methods hadn't been used in a very long time.

He detects magic around the room and uses his knowledge of engineering to determine if any of these still worked or had been used recently. He will also look for anything else interesting.

"She was thought to be dead. Burned in a fire that destroyed the old temple along with her father the priest, but we found a journal when we escaped from Tsuto that indicates she lives. She has begun to transform herself into some vile abomination. She wants to rid herself of her heritage Tsuto says. It seems she is the real leader behind the attacks on Sandpoint. I believe Cordwin has the journal if you would like to see further when time permits."

Opening the door slowly, you see a set of stairs heading down a bit, and proceed down them where you come to a room, with one other exit out the south.

The ceiling of this strangely cold chamber arches to a vaulted height of twenty feet. The floor contains eleven wooden lids strewn haphazardly over eleven five-foot-wide pits in the ground. From the darkness within these pits echo up strange shuffling sounds and, every so often, a low moan.

At the other end of the room is a goblin, with three arms, one holding a longsword, one holding a dagger and one holding a hand axe. It moves to attack.

René eyes the pits warily. Given what was guarding them and the room they had just come from, he would not be surprised if more horrors were lurking down them. But he supposed they were probably less of a threat than their goblin guard. "Whoa there, fella. What's wrong? You so bad at hitting they had ta give ya another arm to even things out?"

Tylur steps to the south, and readies an action in case the three armed goblin attacks, while Rene, taking no chances forces the goblin to have problems swinging his weapons. Cordwin tries talk to the goblin, and figure out why it has three arms.

Cordwin:
He doesn't seem interested in conversation, and the only reason you can come up with is whatever "changed" Nualia affected the goblin somehow, but you still don't know what it is.

The goblin moves, all the way up to be near Logar, waving its weapons and screams "for Erylium!"

Logar steps up to face the three armed goblin, and attacks hitting it with his flail. Aurora, renews the guidance on Logar for next time. Tylur steps forward, trying to trip the creature, but his spiked chain misses wrapping around its legs. Rene also steps up and evil eyes the creature, and cackles to keep it going. Cordwin steps up past Aurora, but cannot see the creature with his friends in the way, so he roots them on.

The goblin swings all three of its weapons at Logar, connecting with the longsword and wounding the cleric.

Logar tries another double attack with the flail and with his tankard, and while the flail hits, the tankard goes wildly over the creatures head. Aurora(bot) stays at the back of the line of adventurers, keeping an eye backwards so nothing sneaks up on the group. Tylur swings with his chain at the creature but misses. Rene swings at the goblin, not worried about hitting it, but only distracting it so Logar has a better chance. Cordwin reaches past Rene with his wand of curing and taps Logar, healing the cleric.

The goblin swings with all three weapons, but only hits with the sword, wounding Logar.

Logar(bot) continues to swing with both his flail and his tankard at the hurting goblin in front of him, but misses with both. Aurora continues to watch behind them, noting that nothing, so far, has come up from behind. Tylur swings at the creature, and just connects with his chain. Rene cackles, and tries to aid the two warriors, but he is just not that good at it, while Cordwin, tells the group to keep the pressure on the beast and put it down.

Korvus swings with all his weapons, but the damage to his body is beginning to tell, and he misses every time.

Logar, concentrates on hitting the creature, rather than speaking to it, but misses both times. Aurora keeps on looking to the rear, however so far nothing has come up from behind the group. Tylur also misses, while Rene cackles to keep his hexes on the creature in force, and while he does try to help Tylur, his distraction proves ineffective. Cordwin encourages the group to finish off the creature.

The three armed goblin continues to swing, but its wounds are slowing it down, and it misses.

I should probably learn more tricks to help swing fortune in our favor. Sure, I can jinx the enemies, but it doesn't do much if our luck is just as bad.

René continues his mocking and distracting leaping, hoping one of their fighters finally manages to land a solid blow. He lunges at the three armed goblin, swiping at its face with his dagger. Triumphantly, he holds up his fist. "Aha! I got yer nose! What dya think about that?" He waves his closed fist at the creature, falling back on the old trick adults so often played with children.
