Yeah, your characters can see and hear it just fine. You can react to it if you want, but there's no (reasonable) way someone watching you or talking to you would know that you're having a vision unless you decide to react.
Ah. I see. I was worried I would have to pull a Deadpool. ;P
And I just realized that all of our characters worship goddesses....
Except for you Daichi. I'm not sure what deity your character worships.
And I'm assuming Derric knows that Kiko worships Ashava. But if you prefer he didn't know that bit of information Kiko, then I changed what i posted right away.
FYI for anyone worried that Leo will be a stick-in-the-mud paladin, he believes:
* When you're dealing with thinking beings that are not of predetermined alignment by supernatural nature, violence is the solution that happens when you screwed up the other opportunities.
* Good guys give bad guys chances to redeem themselves, not because they are dumb, but because it is the right thing to do.
* Good guys are also responsible for protecting people from bad guys.
So his objections are not "I won't make deals with evil creatures because paladin," it's "We need to be super-careful that we don't let these creatures hurt anyone, because they have shown their wicked natures before and we should not enable them to do evil again."
No worries here! And Rishana doesn't really trust the goblins either, but her current view of them being the lesser of two evils (especially after Derric shared his take on the one speaking and what he knows about the Licktoads) means that she's willing to work with them for the time being.
I envision Rish as being fairly pragmatic (but not unkind) and also rather blunt and/or not always as well-spoken as she could be (dat 8 charisma) :3

I expect the goblins to keep to the deal until their chief is dead. The one wants to be chief after all. After that, who knows? Jayna is almost positive they'll forget the leave Sandpoint alone deal before too long.
I was actually surprised that Rishana had an 8 for charisma. I would have thought rangers and hunters would have a higher charisma score. But that's probably because I've never played one...yet.
Derric is acting like how I envision a knight of the oath of the ancients (for those wondering I'm referring to the neutral/chaotic good Paladins of D&D 5th edition) would act. He's pragmatic but he's not stupid. He's also willing to give people a chance at redemption since Shelyn's Paladins believe in using violence when peaceful diplomacy fails. I'm also thinking that his faith in Daikitsu will be more towards community and...I got to read more on her actually.
But don't worry Leo. I don't think you're playing your character as a lawful stupid paladin. Actually I've never encountered anyone who ever played a paladin as lawful stupid.
Since Jayna is a primary face of the party, she might be able to convince the goblins to leave Sandpoint and the main road forever or to leave the marsh forever as well as turn over any fireworks they might have.
@Derric - Charisma does affect your Handle Animal skill but it's nothing that can't be overcome with steadily putting skill points into it. Not to mention it's possible that Rishana might learn a little tact and grow more sociable as time and experience shape her. I'm not above putting those +1s at 4th, 8th, etc. into charisma if it fits her development :)
Not to mention there's a metagame reason too - most of my characters usually wind up with decent (12-16 range) charisma scores or are at least average (10). Thought it would be fun to play someone who isn't quite as socially gifted for a change :)

Ah that's true.
im actually playing a dwarven paladin (stonelord archetype) with a charisma score of 10 right now. And she's a flirt by the way! ;P
Hey Jayna just a heads up: mage armor actually doesn't stack with worn armor. I made the same mistake myself. Thought it would save my party's fighter. XP
It does however protect against incorporeal attacks!
Diachi has a haramaki, which only gives +1 AC. He'll likely replace it later, but I wasn't overly worried since Daichi is supposed to stay well out of the heat of the fight.
Hey Rishana. You do realize that since one of your companions known tricks is stay, it does it automatically without needing a check, right? Also, you get an +4 since she's your companion so you would have hit DC 10 even if you did have to make a check.
Whoops, forgot about the +4 for her being my own companion though I didn't know that you generally don't have to roll Handle Animal for tricks they already know. I'll remember that going forward :)
Well we're still waiting on Leo and Kiko to take their combat actions so that may be part of the holdup. Another thing is that it's been the weekend as well as GenCon so that might be a reason that one or all of them haven't posted lately.

What she said. Waiting on actions from Kiko and Leo.
Also gm where am I in relation to the goblins attacking Leo?
20ft back, assume you have line of sight/charge unless I say otherwise.
Trying to work out a way to do (decent) maps but my know how on the subject is rather limited and I've not had time recently to experiment for the best option (Summer classes plus new job eats away much of y day and I try to do posts from home)
Though I've not actually attempted to do any maps myself, I know a lot of GMs seem to like using Google Slides for maps. Some use Roll20 which is also good but might be a little more technical than some people would care for.
Yeah I was looking at Roll20 and I'm trying to learn it, my finals are tomorrow and then I have a few weeks before fall classes start so I'll see about learning it in that time frame.
Also, one more fight after this (guaranteed) and then be prepared to rest and level, start eyeing what you want. Everyone will get one additional bonus feat at level 2.

One consideration is Roll20 is almost impossible to see on mobile. Other than that I like it. Google slides works well on mobile.
Yay I love feats. Do we need a buffer or a blaster more for the group. I'm Boreal mage so I get enlarge person at 3rd, and my spells can be cold.
Just so you know, I can see Roll20 on my iPhone okay, it won't let me post on it. Not sure why.
As for my feats, I'm not sure yet. I might go tank as well, unless someone has any suggestions. I was thinking Animal affinity or persuasive for dealing with NPCs. Just depends I guess.
I'll give Kiko until tomorrow night to post her pre-battle prep, give her time to disagree or make her own prep, otherwise I'll bot and start the encounter.
Yeah, I felt a little bad about that. Favored Enemy is not your friend in this encounter. Good news is that he's almost out of regular arrows, has a few enchanted ones on hand though...
As an FYI I'm working night shift the next three nights (tonight, Friday, Saturday) and sleeping during the day so my posting rates will likely drop during the time. I'll try and catch up/keep up as best as I can but feel free to bot Rishana & Senga as needed to keep things moving along.
In the hopes that Kiko comes back, I say we just make her a NPC that tags along with us. I like the character and think Kiko is quite interesting. So until Kiko's player comes back, we should have Kiko a NPC. It would be a shame to let such a great and well thought out character go to waste.
