Hey guys, I'm going to be pulling 12s at work for the next three days so you may not see much in the way of posts from me during that time. I'll try to check in/keep up as much as I can but it may not be until Friday night or Saturday before I'll get caught up. As always, feel free to bot me for combat/skill checks as needed!
By the way, I think tomorrow makes two weeks without any word from the GM. I remember that he/she is a student I believe so I'm hoping they're just busy with classes and that their absence isn't due to anything more serious.
Hey folks, this isn't 100% related to the most recent happenings in my life (which have included catching the flu and losing my grandmother) but it *has* given me time to think on things a bit and I've come to the decision that I need to lighten my PbP load by a few games. It's been a slow process but I think I've taken on more than I can really handle right now and the stress of trying to keep up with them all is starting to have a negative impact on my mood and capability to write. Rather than have all of my games suffer for it, I'd rather let a few go so I can better focus on the ones that remain (and have a little more free time for other hobbies again, too).
This one is in sort of an awkward spot as it's looking like it's dead in the water again unless the group is willing to try and find another replacement GM. Normally I'd be on board for helping to do that but under the circumstances I think I'll instead use this as an opportunity to bow out as well. I'm already cutting out 5 or 6 games and I'm not sure that me recommitting to this one right now would be wise. On the bright side, there's plenty enough PCs that losing Rishana and Senga shouldn't really affect the party balance and would actually make it easier/more attractive for another GM to pick up as they'd have one less PC to juggle.
Either way, it's been fun playing together for what time we did and I hope I'll see the rest of you again and under better circumstances. There's one or two of you that I'll still be seeing in other games anyway so I wouldn't be too sad :)
As Leodegrance and Damien metioned I'm back and better than ever! If you would be interested I would be willing to step in and pick up the reigns here. Please let me know.
In the interest of being upfront and honest with you all I have exams coming up on Wednesday 2/22 and Monday 2/27 so my posting on those days and possibly leading up to them will more than likely be limited to once a day or quick posts.
Also in the interest of honesty I am a graduate student and married and also work 25 hours a week. I am taking an almost full load this semester. I work from 8 AM-1:30 PM CST(GMT-6) Monday-Friday(with some exceptions that vary by week) and am in class from 3:30-7 PM CST(GMT-6) Monday and Wednesday. I am getting my masters in mathematics which means my homework consists of writing proofs, which I spend about 15-20 hours a week doing. I will most likely be posting from work 90% of the time but might post outside of work hours from my phone of something is quick and easy to post.
I sent him a message yesterday, but I have yet to hear anything back. It's only been one day, but he might just be off the boards for now. I can't say unless he shows up somewhere or gets back to me.
Female Human Sorcerer 3 AC 12 (16 with Mage Armor), T 12, FF 10 | hp 21/21 | Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +3 | Int +6 | Percept +3
May I suggest a bit of a compromise. It would require us waiting another week. We could give Almagafor until 2/27, after Mathpro's exams, to get back to us about their status, and go from there.

I actually like that idea! That should work out for everyone I think.

I've been thinking about that. If we don't hear from MathPro by April 5, I'd like to throw my hat in as the GM. Something to think about he's gone AFK twice now with no warning. Do we want to take the chance he'll come back?
A couple of things to know when you think about my offer.
I have some PFS in person GMing experience, but not much. This would be the first AP that I would attempt to GM.
I would only be able to do one post a day in the evenings PST on weekdays, and maybe once on a weekend. I can post more often as a player, but I'll need the extra time to prepare the GM posts.
I'm out of town April 1-5 so I don't want to commit to starting back up until after I get back.
Anyway that's what I've been thinking, and my offer. You would still have five players assuming everyone comes back to the game after this hiatus. So should be able to continue with the current party less Jayna.
I have no issue with someone else taking up the AP (whether it's Jayna or we find a different GM), but might I suggest starting a new thread? I might even suggest starting over rather than dealing with the retcons and changes that going through two GMs very quickly caused.
While I'm fine with someone taking over and am fine with Jayna becoming a GMPC I'm not really interested in starting over. It took quite a while to get where we are now and I'd rather not toss all of it.

I like the idea of a new thread, and I agree that I wouldn't want to start over. I took a peek at the AP and we're almost to part 2 of the first book. I'd hate to lose all the progress. I'm happy to leave people's characters as they are and move forward.
I do have a question. What do you think of the caravan rules? I don't feel strongly about using them or not.
I'm fine with either, just figured that I'd put the suggestion out there.
On the caravan rules, I'm not much of a fan. The balance is bad and requires a lot of tweaking to even get close to right. I ran the first two books ages ago for my sister and a friend or two and just dropped it to replace with encounters I designed and it worked out pretty well.
