Lukasz Pavo |

At hearing the dropped lockpick hitting the floor, Lukasz bunches the viel into his clenched hand and hisses, "Back in the manacles, better to let the guards think we are still all fully bound than to tip our hand too soon."

Lanarial |

"I'll put a dagger to good use for our escape. You'll learn the value of silence and not being noticed soon enough, I promise." Lanarial quietly states with a gleam in his eye...

Dargon Lake |

Hands and feet, two seperate locks, just to let you know.
I thought it was one roll because of you saying after the one roll by Dargon to start unlocking the others. How do you want to back it up..?

Captain Roger Stephens |

Using your previous rolls, you're completely free, then started on my locks. After two tries, you got one set open (either my hands or feet, doesn't matter). Then you dropped the lockpick.

Dargon Lake |

using that framework---
picking up the lockpick Dargon conginued working on Rogers locks.
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 as it became increasingly difficult to wok in the dim light he muttered and continued
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Roger free he moved to Elijah's manacles
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
then down to his legirons
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Elijah free he moved to Lukasz' manacles and said to Lukasz in a whisper give him a dagger
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
a Lockpick got stuck in the lock and then *sproing* it launched itself against the cell wall.
Roger and Elijah are free.

Varshana Altridge |

"You two tall and handsome guards, are you as strong in your convictions as your friends? Wouldn't you just love to serve your own justice to me before I die?" Varshana bangs a manacle against the wall to try and cover up the noise. She wiggles her body suggestively.

Captain Roger Stephens |

"Thanks, friend. Roger whispers as his chains come free. He keeps a close eye on the door as Dargon continues working. Hearing the lockpick fall again, he makes eye contact with Elijah, nods at the door, and mouths, "Get ready." Then he resumes his former position, arranging his chains to appear securely fastened.

DM_Kumo Gekkou |

Dargon Lake |

Dargon waits for long seconds as the guards footsteps go away and then he goes back to work on Lukasz manacles
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
and then on his leg irons
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
he curses....as one of the lock picks breaks with an audible crack.
He pulls the other dagger from the handkerchief and palms it up his sleeve as he jumps back to his place in the cell pretending to be chained. as he waits for the guards return.

Lanarial |

Muttering under his breath, Lanarial attempts to slip his bonds on his own. He's been tied up before and managed to wriggle free...maybe it will work again.
"The gods help those who help themselves..."
Escape Artist1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Hopefully his FAIL will mask the sound of Dargon breaking the lockpick...
"...and spit on those too stupid to know when to leave well enough alone."

Captain Roger Stephens |

@GM: Am I blind, or is there no 19 on the map?
Whispered
"That's right, snotface, I'm talking to you! Quit yer racket; I'm trying to sleep!"
That oughta mask some lockpick noises.

DM_Kumo Gekkou |

Yes 18a,b,c,d,e and 18 are all separated by iron bars. The walls surround the chamber are all stone, the wall on the left of 18a is reinforced stone. The bars are iron bars. The room is windowless thus it is impossible to tell the time of day, though your last meal was delivered approximately 3 hours ago. The guards do random inspections anywhere from once an hour to every three hours depending on which guards are on duty.
Talirean standard operating procedure is to keep all guards separated into 3 shifts. While some captains will differ, most change shifts at 8am, 4pm, and midnight. Though you've not been here long enough to tell if that is true of Branderscar.

Dargon Lake |

so far so good. Dargon thought as he moved to before Lukasz again. he heard Roger say some gibberish in a strange language but heard his name and he looked at him as he was pulling out a new lockpick and shrugged with a not understanding look.
then set to on the leg irons
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
The Priest free, he glanced at the two remaining an Elf and the whore.
He thought he remembered a guard saying she could enchant men...and so moved to her manacles.
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
and when they popped open he moved to her leg irons
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16....straining to see, he redoubled his efforts disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18. This part of the cell was extremely dark and he continued working, sweat beading on his brow
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
He cursed again as the leg irons rattled as he tried to work on them holding her shapely legs...maybe he was distracted?....he held his breath waiting....

Dargon Lake |

no sound of footsteps came so he glanced up at the woman above him and went back at her leg irons
disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
and suddenly like that they sprung open and he moved to the elf, handing him the dagger he had got off the handkerchief whispering time to put those boasts to the test elf
manacles first disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
he cursed again....damn light.

Lukasz Pavo |

After he tears off the pentagram symbol of Asmodeus from the veil, Lukasz bundles the veil back up into his fist before slipping the now unlocked manacles around his wrists and ankles and to continue to simulate being bound.

Varshana Altridge |

When she's freed, Varshana rubs her wrists to return life to them, then brushes Dargon's cheek. She shifts her weight and her torn clothing reveal a glimpse entirely too far up her legs and the lockpicker curses silently. She shifts again to conceal the distracting anatomy then smiles devilishly as the last manacle is opened.
She turns and rubs her ankles, bending over at the waist but unfortunately giving a distracting view to Dargon.
Seeing Lukasz feign being restrained, Varshana quickly does the same.

Elijah Moore |

Thank you, I was starting to cramp up, hurry lest the filth catch us. Two of us are free, but we may need more in order to subdue them should they get nosy, Elijah whispers to Dargon.
Oh great Asmodeus, grant this 'unexceptional thief' the talent of nimble fingers and a steady hand so we may be free of our bonds. Then we shall tear apart the Mitra filth and praise your name Elijah says a quick prayer after yet another mishap. Hoping Asmodeus will hear his call once again, as he did before.
Elijah will stretch his wrists and feet. Not enough to cause a ruckus, but it will feel good to stretch a little since he was bound for so long.

Lanarial |

"No worries, Dargon. I'm used to being last...but I'm also getting used to winning. Just concentrate and unlock these chains so we can get our sorry selves out of here."
"By the way - what the HELLS are you all babbling about? Either translate or teach me - but don't get all pissy if I miss a cue 'cause you're speaking in high Goth or something..."
As Dargon works the manacles Lanarial carefully tests the weight and balance of the dagger, learning its story through the feel of the handle, the glint of the blade's edge, the strength of the steel. "Every blade has a personality - a need to be used in the perfect manner. Are you a slasher? A stabber? A thrower? Are you fury and rage and heat and blood, or are you the cold, calm, silent strike from the darkness that ends a life between breath? Come, let us dance and discover one another..."

Captain Roger Stephens |

@Lanarial: Ummm, you get Common and Elven as starting languages, right? ;-)
Roger sees Dargon's confused look and repeats himself in whispered Common. "I was asking what you saw while you were out. How many guards, general attentiveness, shift changes, that sort of thing. We need information before we can make an escape plan that's got any chance of working. "

Dargon Lake |

holding a finger to his lips Dargon says softly shhhh Didnt see much. Not enough to tell a lot and all were enthalled by a the woman who came to see me. After I free the Elf here Ill give more detail
He then stood stock still waiting to see if the guard responded to the latest noise.

Lanarial |

@ the Cap'n - Normally, yes. But my backstory never had him with elves or anyone who would teach him Elvish. So, being a long-time role-player, I'm handicapping him to fit the story. Also why he doesn't talk much and is pretty mistrusting of you all - he figures you're going to take advantage of him like every other human he's ever known ;-) So I'm the bullied bastard who snapped and is hunting his SOB father and slowly taking out everyone who has wronged him...

Lanarial |

Probably more towards his elven mother, which only got him bullied and beaten more. It fits with his higher Dex than Str, too ;-) Bring on the Snark!

DM_Kumo Gekkou |

Lukasz, the pentagram patch tears off and becomes a silver unholy symbol to Asmodeus.
Typically the guards take regular meals at noon, 8pm, and 4am, then feed any prisoners when they are finished with their own meal. This is done for two reasons, to keep the guards in top shape before engaging and as a slight against the prisoners getting cold food.
The door to the cell block is thrown open and a guard walks in, his partner remaining at the door.
The guard entering the room says, "I'm sure I heard something that time, it's no mouse." He has his club in hand and is ready for trouble. You will have a round before he aproaches you to hide objects.
The other guard remains at the door out of sight to any of you.

Captain Roger Stephens |

b!@#%, b!@$%, whine, whine. I don't understand anybody!
Roger's jaw drops, and he stares at Lanarial in shock for a minute. "But...you...I thought...You're...Aw, screw this. I've got bigger things to worry about right now. Short answer: we're speaking Elven. You musta hit your head a couple times too many when they brought you in."
EDIT: Roger will stand quietly like he's still chained up. If it looks like the guard's getting ready to raise the alarm, he'll attempt to hit him with a Stunning Fist. aka Readying an action to attack

Varshana Altridge |

"Ahh, if only being of a beautiful blood guaranteed the same sort of mind. It is to lament."
Varshana quickly goes quiet when the guard comes in, readying herself to touch the man.
Readying to use Dazing Touch if he gets near enough, or if he is close enough and is going to discover the ruse of unlocked manacles.

Captain Roger Stephens |

Lukasz Pavo |

Slipping the chain around his neck and under his loose jerkin, Lukasz slips his hand back in the unlocked manacle, exclaiming, "Well! If it isn't our most noble of wardens come to make sure the crown's little prizes aren't causing a ruckus. Sorry for the noise my friends, it is difficult to get comfortable in silence all trussed up as we are." Hoping the noise and light help to mask the movements of his cell mates, he more plays the role of belligerent inmate than escaping convict.

Lanarial |

Being the only one who is actually still secured by his manacles, and at the end of the line and furthest in the cell, Lanarial deftly palms the dagger, hiding it from sight, and shakes his chains roughly to get the guards attention.
"Only me trying to slip out of these lovely bracelets. You see, my nuts itch something fierce - probably a result of the poor sanitation - and I really want to scratch them. But now that you are here, perhaps you can do me the honor? Not too rough, though - the boys are sensitive..."

DM_Kumo Gekkou |

Bluff check Lukasz +2 assisted 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17
Bluff check assist Lanarial1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Guard's sense motives +5 untrustworth1d20 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 5 = 11
The guard steps up to the bars of your cell, scanning each of you. The dagger and unholy symbol are both small enough they can be easily concealed behind your back. Not seeing anything, and with your stories, he relaxes some. "Fine, keep it down, you'll get your meal in a few hours."
He turns and makes his way back to the block entrance, you can hear another voice, through the doorway. "I told you. This place is old rats get in all the time, hell this filth probably deserves the rats to bite 'em. I swear you're too tense, let me buy you a drink once we're out of here."
"I can't help it these freaks make me nervous."
With that the door is shut and locked.

Dargon Lake |

not wanting to tempt fate, Dargon immediately goes back to work on Lanarial's manacles. disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18, the nervousness of the guards arrival apparent...disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20,
The manacles unlock and he bends down to the leg irons disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12, and holds his breath, moving back towards the chains ....

Dargon Lake |

he looks at Varshana as she quips and scowls, keeping his thoughts to himself as he moves back to the Elf's leg irons disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16, ....he continues working on the lock disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30,
and with a flourish as the leg irons fall away he stands and bows grinning as he says in a whisper Since we are all free now. The womans name was Tiadora. She had some way of controlling a mans will with just a gaze and a whisper. Strong Enchantments. She gave us the handkerchief with several objects, to include a lantern, some potion bottle, a bag...probably gold...a window...and a few other things. The aide comes with a caveat though

Dargon Lake |

he continues just so milady. When we escape, we are to go through the moors and to a house with 1 lantern in an upstairs window. There our mysterious benefactor will tell us what the cost is for assistance. My estimation is this is not a person to cross, should we make it out of here.....Now as to guards. I only saw what you saw. the most at one time was 4 the sergeant and three others. I think the shift is fairly small on this floor. Let me see if I will be abe to pick the lock of the cell door..
Dargon moves and looks at the door to see if he would be able to manage it.

Dargon Lake |

Dargon crouches and first examins the door for any sort of alarm, magical or otherwise. perception vs traps: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 and then tries to unlock the cell door lock disable device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
well that's a no. this time if they come lets take em

Lukasz Pavo |

Making sure to speak in a low voice, Lukasz says, "I say we use this time to take stock of our resources." Lying the veil out, he looks over the symbols, putting his knowledge of things magical to work in identifying what each symbol could be. Once that is done he turns his thought to the guards. "If we are to make it out of here, then we need to make this as stealthy as possible. Those knowledgeable in combat tactics will know that if we do get into combat, we can't let anyone escape and raise the alarm. Let us see what each is capable of. I am a faithful of the Archfiend and have been blessed with a portion of his divine will. As such, I can channel his energy to heal living creatures that follow his path."
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Thinking about a way out of the cell, Lukasz ponders their situation and says, "So we know that there are at least two guards at the nearest post and we will be getting a meal in a few hours. Anyone have any ideas on how to get both guards into this room?"

Lanarial |

Lanarial feels the pull of the shadows, but fights his instinct to hide and instead arranges the manacles again so that he looks bound. He holds the dagger ready but hidden. Seeing Dargon stiffen and listen to the door, he quietly, but firmly murmurs to Luk "Guards! Hide it and get back in the chains!"
