Vesa strains her little brains out trying to figure out what it is, but she is still stumped. The only thing that she can surmise is that it is most likely a magical beast of some sort.

Foul Vaghdra |

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Vaghdra also tries to identify the beast:
Knowledge checks
Arcana 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Dungeoneering 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Nature 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Quivrel Licktoad |

Will save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Quivrel, in the moment before the fear hits him, also contemplates the creature.
Knowledge: Arcana 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Knowledge: Planes 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Knowledge: Nature 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Bile Ratsear |

know:nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

DM Kor |
Save DC is 11. Those that failed gain the shaken condition for 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) = 11 rounds.
The goblins try their best to gather their wits and assess their foe -- being the clever group of knowledgeable goblins they are. For most of you, you have never seen or heard of anything like this before. Judging by how big Quivrel's eyes suddenly get, some of the more astute observers might surmise that he recalls something about the creature.

DM Kor |
Just before we enter battle, you can make any arrangements you wish for healing. I sort of rushed us along into the next encounter without giving your gobo's a chance to heal up.

DM Kor |
Initiatives:
Bile: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Dogdog: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Vaghdra: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Quivrel: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Vesa: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Big Bad Lizard: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Goblin Appetizers: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Group 1: Big Bad Lizard
Group 2: Goblin Appetizers
Group 3: Bile & Quivrel
Group 4: Foul, Dogdog & Vesa

Bile Ratsear |

Once you have had a chance to heal up, we will get the massa.... err... party started.
you were going to say massage, huh? Also, Bile didn't prepare much in the way of Cure spells today (prepared only 1 cure light). we might be screwed.

DM Kor |
I think mainly Dogdog and Dog were the ones hit. Their current HP's are displayed in character the status line.

Foul Vaghdra |

Vaghdra will have cast CLW on Dogdog.
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Also, I'm wondering about this:
Hypothetically, if Vaghdra (or anyone) wants to cast touch spells on Dog during battle is he/she trained to accept such, or do we have to make a touch attack roll?

Foul Vaghdra |

(Hey Dogdog - Vaghdra cast this on Dogdog well before we got here. DM is letting us heal up as if we did it after bugsplatting.) nice puddles from Dog and Dogdog though!

DM Kor |
Hypothetically, if Vaghdra (or anyone) wants to cast touch spells on Dog during battle is he/she trained to accept such, or do we have to make a touch attack roll?
It's an interesting question. I do believe in the Cesar Millan theory of animal psychology though, and Dog can sense the intent of those around him... especially those he has grown accustomed to. No roll required to cast a friendly spell on Dog... unless it does something weird like transform him into another creature or something.

Round 1
Group 1 - Big Bad Lizard
The lizard's nostrils sort of shudder as it takes in a lot of air. The freezor then opens wide its toothy maw and releases a gurgling hiss which spews forth a vast sinuous, spray of mucus.
As this disgusting discharge splatters the goblins, their skin instantly begins to burn from its acidic consistency.

Gob8 Crit Confirm 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
After much yelping and screaming, the acid burnt and scarred goblins rush forward doing what goblins do best and attack as one big group. Of all the rusty swords being swung at the lizard, only 2 strike the beast.

DM Kor |
Group 3 (Bile & Quivrel) are up.
Note: the lizard is 5' up clinging to the wall. You can walk right underneath it, but it would draw an attack of opportunity.
Vaghdra, please make a save(s) as per the info under the Acid Damage spoiler.

Bile Ratsear |

Bile draws three stones from his grotty pouch as he moves to Q5. He will cast magic stone on the stones.

Quivrel Licktoad |

Though he is terrified, Quivrel tries to look the beast in the eye, holding Puddleby in front of him. Waves of malice wash out towards the lizard.
Evil Eye hex to give it -2 to saves for 7 rounds, DC 15 Will save reduces this to 1 round.

Foul Vaghdra |

Move action: Move to O5
Standard Action: Casts Bless
Free Action: "Gnaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr. Ough. Auuuuugh. You die lizzud!!! Vaghdra keep you head as hat!"
Do I need a concentration check for this from being acid-washed?
Make sure all you guys factor in your buff from Bless...

DM Kor |
I left the green template on the map for a bit just to show who was hit with the breath weapon, but I should have explained that it was just a template and not an effect which remained on the map. I have now removed it.
If this would have affected anyone's movement, feel free to post an adjustment.

Foul Vaghdra |

Re: acid effect on map. I figured as much but I liked it.
I thought it was useful to tell me the thing's breath range/spread. Seems like if we all bunch up on the right hand side he'll just turn and spray a different bunch of differently but similarly bunched up gobbos. Us PCs!

DM Kor |
I'm just about to start gaming with my live group right now so an update will be later tonight. Dogdog, you do know that the King-Chief had ordered you all to find and kill this thing. Of course, if you are referring to waiting for orders more on the "military unit" level, then I understand. Or perhaps, Dog sees himself more of just a pack member, and is waiting for the packmaster to order him to attack? Oh well, hopefully the other goblins put a nice mention of this on your headstone :)

Dogdog |

Or perhaps, Dog sees himself more of just a pack member, and is waiting for the packmaster to order him to attack?
Pretty much this, exactly. He's scared, but like any well trained dog, a command from his pack leader will override that.
Dog acts on commands/directions from Dogdog, as per the Animal Companion rules.

DM Kor |
Round 2
Group 1 - Big Bad Lizard
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
The large lizard easily shake's off the attempt to spell it, and it snaps its sharp teeth at a goblin that had sunk its rusty sword deep into its underbelly. (gob10)
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Much to the beast's surprise, he misses the spry goblin.
The poor goblins who failed their REF save:
Gob1 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Gob2 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Gob3 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Gob4 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Gob5 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Gob8 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Several of the goblins continue to suffer from the lingering effects of the burning acidic goo. Three goblins seem to cease moving completely, almost as if frozen in place. (Gob1,4,5)

DM Kor |
Round 2
Group 2 - Goblin Appetizers
Many goblins try to push and shove for a spot to attack the beast, while some don't appear to be trying all that hard to push through the crowd and get next to it.
Gob2 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Gob6 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Gob8 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Gob10 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Three of the 4 goblins attacking the lizard connect and cause it many more wounds. All of the beast's attention though appears to be on 1 particular goblin though, as he has again greatly wounded the creature.

Quivrel Licktoad |

Quivrel frowns and shakes his head. He resumes his gaze, this time hexing the creature with Misfortune.
DC 15 again or be forced to reroll all attacks, saves, ability checks or skill checks for 1 round.

Bile Ratsear |

Bile will sling the first of the magic stones at the beast
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

DM Kor |
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
The creature again shakes off the magical effect.
Bile's magic stone cracks off the lizard's head, causing it some pain.
The party does notice Dog's intrepidation as he seems uncertain what to do, and keeps looking at each of you with a slight look of confusion.
Group 4: Foul, Dogdog & Vesa

Dogdog |

Dogdog goes from nervous staring to hunched snarling. Dog whined a bit, but Dogdog growled sharply at him and lashed out with the lash-leash attached to his collar.
Free action, Wicked Lash to give Dog another save vs. fear.
Without waiting to see if his brother would follow, Dogdog leaped at the lizard with savage fury.
Charge, Shaken (leaping over other goblins if there's no charge lane): 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 - 2 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Acrobatics (if needed): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
That's a 3 foot vertical clearance

Vesa Redrida |

Do I have a clear shot at it? (I'm currently assuming so.)
Vesa continues to pour arrows in the general direction of the lizard-thing.
Atk; Dam: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Atk; Dam: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

DM Kor |
Foul's menacing demeanor quickly helps Dogdog gather his senses and he charges forward at the lizard, striking it in its front leg, causing a nice spray of blood.
Dog runs through Dogdog, right underneath the lizard and jumps up to bite it but misses. Running through Dogdog provides cover so no AoO
Vesa releases two arrows at the beast, but narrowly misses twice. Vesa, you do have an unobstructed shot at it.
I'm up late and have to get to bed. Round 3 starts tomorrow.

DM Kor |
Round 3
Group 1 - Big Bad Lizard
Glaring down at one of the goblins that has been hurting it the most, the beast tries to bite him in half.
Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
The Freezor manages to sink its jaws into the poor goblin gob10, but does not manage to snap him in half. The lizard snaps its head back quickly pulling with it a bunch of goblin meat. The bitten goblin stumbles backwards a bit, almost looking happy that he survived the attack... then he falls face forwards, as blood continues to pump out of his vast exposed wound.

DM Kor |
Round 3
Group 2 - Goblin Appetizers
The goblins continue to press on with their attacks, but do look a little horrified at their friend's fate.
Gob10 is down in I10, bleeding to death. Gob12 steps in to take his place.
Gob2 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Gob6 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Gob8 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Gob12 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Gob6 Fumble Ref Save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
The goblins appear to be quite demoralized and all have great difficulty trying to strike the creature.
Group 3 - Bile & Quivrel are up

DM Kor |
@DM: I know all the gobs would have missed anyway, but did you add +1 to some of them from Foul's bless? ;)
Thanks for the reminder... I did not, but they all missed horribly anyways so that omission has not affected things for this round.

DM Kor |
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Not only does the beast seem unaffected by the spell, its glare in Quivrel's direction reveals that it may perhaps be getting annoyed.
