HP 33/33, AC 18, FORT +6, REF +3, WILL +3; CMD 16; INIT +2; PER +7,

Dogdog grinned lime a mad thing, his terrible wolf-skull weapon dripping ichor and opening and closing it's jaws as Dogdog gave it voice.

"Lashlashlash! Good boy, Dogdog! Good boy!"

Male Goblin Witch L3 HP 27/27; AC 14, T 13, FF 12; FORT +5, WILL +3, REF +3; CMD 11; INIT +2; PER +0;

Quivrel cackles. The action involves much of his body, the sound of which sends shivers up the spines of his enemies. He then points at another beetle to curse it.

Move action to cackle. Standard to Hex Bug 8.

Battle Map

Jakka moves forward slightly and takes a poke at a bug Bug7

Longspear attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Longspear damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Jakka looks shocked and annoyed at having missed the beetle so poorly.

Battle Map

Round 3 - Group 3:

A beetle advances forward towards the threats, however doing so brings it within Jakka's spear range.

Jakka's AoO:
Longspear attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Longspear damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Jakka's spear glances off the bug's carapace, almost puncturing through it. Jakka clearly looks like she is getting angry.

Crunch:

Bug8 will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Bug8 (misfortuned) attacks its nearest target, Dogdog:
Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Attack 2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Bug5 attacks Jakka
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Bug6 attacks Jakka
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Bug7 attacks Dog
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Two of the beetles attempt to take a bite out of Jakka, but are unsuccessful. The hexed beetle also fails miserably in its attempt to bite Dogdog. Dog also easily avoids being bitten by a beetle.

Round 4 - Group 1 is up

HP 30/30, AC 18, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +2, Per +5

Clearly enjoying the mayhem and the rush of adrenaline, Vaghdra moves toward the furthest insect."Vaghdra make bugslop!"

Bile will tiptoe carefully past everyone avoiding AoOs by following the path: J12 > K11 > L10 > M10

He will sling a magic bullet at Bug7

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

CURSED!

Battle Map

Round 4 - Group 1 Summary
Dogdog lashes out with his whip tearing a line across the bug's soft abdomen. Bug guts spill forth as the beetle expires on the spot. Bug6 dead

Dog thrusts his mangy head at a beetle but misses.

Vaghdra brings her flail down on a beetle and squarely connects, noticably damaging it.

Battle Map

Bile's attack on the wounded beetle, deliver's a near fatal blow.. yet is still is up and skittering.

Male Goblin Witch L3 HP 27/27; AC 14, T 13, FF 12; FORT +5, WILL +3, REF +3; CMD 11; INIT +2; PER +0;

With continued mirth, which seems to be growing in the Goblin Witch, Quivrel continues to cackle. He then sweeps a pointing finger towards another of the remaining beetles.

Cackle once again and hex Bug 7.

Battle Map

Jakka backs up and tries to spear a beetle.

Attack on bug5: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Attack on bug5: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Battle Map

Round 4 - Group 2 Summary
Bile releases a bullet at an injured beetle bug7, and hurts it greatly... the bug looks like it is having trouble standing.

Quivrel continues to try using his magic to mess with the beetle's senses.

Spoiler:

Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Jakka stabs at a beetle and misses yet again. The angered goblin then throws her spear across the room and shouts forth some nasty goblin curse words which essentially translate to, "screw this, I'm leaving!"

Battle Map

Round 4 - Group 3 Summary

Crunch:

Bug8 attacks Dogdog:
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Bug5 attacks Jakka:

Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Bug7 attacks Dog:
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

A beetle tries to take a bite out of Jakka but does not succeed. Another beetle tries to slice up Dog, but has no success.

If beetles could, the bug that Quivrel tried to hex most certainly would be. His spell seems to have no noticable effect on the beetle as it gnashes at Dogdog's leg and connects. 2 hp damage to Dogdog

Round 5 - Group 1 is up

HP 33/33, AC 18, FORT +6, REF +3, WILL +3; CMD 16; INIT +2; PER +7,

Male Goblin Witch L3 HP 27/27; AC 14, T 13, FF 12; FORT +5, WILL +3, REF +3; CMD 11; INIT +2; PER +0;

"HahahahahaHA!" Quivrel continues to cackle. What effect it has on his fellow goblins is unknown, but it seems to maintain the magic that curses his enemies. He then directs his curse on the last remaining unaffected beetle.

Cackle. Hex Bug 5.

Still cackling, though he can't quite remember why, Quivrel stays back in the corridor, but draws his crossbow should any of the bugs expose themselves to an easy shot.

Battle Map

The goblins press on their offensive as the number of beetles quickly diminishes. Soon, all that is left is a room full of beetle goo and excrement.

The battle was well in hand, so it seemed an appropriate time to end it.

Although the perturbed Jakka seemed to storm away, another brave goblin has stepped forward, willing to take point with the other four.

I will provide a further update tomorrow.

HP 33/33, AC 18, FORT +6, REF +3, WILL +3; CMD 16; INIT +2; PER +7,

"Good boy Dogdog!" the puppet wolf skull said, making licking motions all over Dogdog's face, mostly smearing bug goo al over him.

Dogdog giggled and growled, moving to check Dog's hurt paw.

Did Vesa have to fire any more arrows?

Vesa collects any undamaged arrows that she fired (assuming there are any).

"Now where we go?"

HP 33/33, AC 18, FORT +6, REF +3, WILL +3; CMD 16; INIT +2; PER +7,

Dogdog scratched himself with his foot and trotted back to the main corridor, again taking point and beginning to move quietly down the hall with his brother.

Vaghdra is incensed. Noticeably grumbling, she watches Dogdog leave with heavily slitted eyes.

"Yoo dum dog Dogdog. DOG smarter than you! Yoo make us kill stinkbugs for nothing? Me check for shiny."

Vaghdra kicks apart all the nests/former sleeping areas looking for "stuff".

DM Kor - is taking 10 possible here? If not:

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Note also Vaghdra is being careless, though keen to find stuff and not rushing, she is kicking stuff, so if there are nasty surprises she is at risk....

HP 33/33, AC 18, FORT +6, REF +3, WILL +3; CMD 16; INIT +2; PER +7,

Dogdog doesn't turn around, but his hand puppet chatters.

"Dog smarter than stupid vaghdra too. Dog smartsmart. You still a good boy, Dogdog. Don't want bad bugs behind us. They hunt gobs. You did good."

Battle Map

We'll be back on track tomorrow. Sorry for the pause in the action. As a shift worker I get pretty out of sorts at times. I am working late night shifts all weekend after tomorrow, which should give me time to post during the day times now.

yeah that's what i mean. Bile assumed they didn't, and i personally don't imagine they do. Bile is going to make sure DogDog and DogDog's Dog Dog don't get chewed up by something else.

I'm not advancing. I'm a pack creature. I'll wait for everyone to regroup before moving forward.

Battle Map

As the goblins finish off the last beetle, they then take a moment to realize how much of a mess they make when their innards squirt out and mush out of their hard shells.

Every goblin (and wolf) has bits and pieces of unknown organic bug matter stuck to them. While some goblins take the time to clean themselves off, others begin snooping around the small cavern.

It looks as if the cavern was once used a sleeping chamber. The bugs turned the straw sleeping pallets into their own nests. Despite a fairly thorough search, nothing else of interest is found in room.

The goblins return to the tunnel and continue on...

Battle Map

The goblins continue to travel for about 45 minutes through the main tunnel, as it continues its steady decline towards the deep realm below. The Muckeaters do not encounter any other goblins (or other life forms) during this time, aside from the occasional small insect. As the group continues, they notice that the tunnel seems to flare out ahead, into the cavern. The cavern appears to be 30' wide, 60' long and averaging at about 12' high.

The Muckeaters cautiously enter the cavern, looking around for any signs of trouble but they do not find anything. Dog picks up a scent on the ground, alerting the goblins momentarily, however the wolf looses the scent about halfway through the tunnel.

As the goblins get near the end of the cavern, a large, gray reptilian head seems to emerge from the cavern wall. As the goblins begin to quickly focus, they realize that there is a large lizard-like creature clinging to the wall of the cavern, perfectly blending into a recess in the wall, about 5-feet up from the cavern floor. A reptilian hood, springs up from behind its head, and an ominous feeling of dread overcomes the goblins. It cracks a wide smile displaying a maw full of sharp pointy teeth.

Will save time - fear-based :)
