Got it.
Torriki puts an end to the black-scaled kobold who injured Wayne! Wayne takes down the next one in the line, and gives a solid knock on the head to the remaining one while he's at it!
Finally, some kobolds hit the dirt! Blayne, Bastion and Instrument are up.
Bastion Armstrong |
Mega-Bastion thunders onto the scene. He rears back and smashes the nearest kobold with his similarly enlarged gandasa.
Smash (bless): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8
Bodyguard: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Bodyguard: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Instrument |
"OW!!!" The Taldan shoots everyone a dirty look for letting him get hurt. Nevermind that he charged into the thick. His gaze fixates on the miners, and he becomes nearly apoplectic at their inaction.
"Aroden wishes you to be free! Embrace your humanity and strike down your oppressors!"
Diplomacy!: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
GM Reroll, 3 Stars: 1d20 + 0 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 0 + 3 = 22
Slightly less useless! Kinda. Don't think I've used that yet and my thread search didn't turn up anything (well, Torriki's).
DM Khel |
That's a succes, Instrument!
Mega-Bastion's attack misses the nimble kobold, but the Instrument's words stir something deep in the hearts of the captive miners! With a new light shining in their eyes, one of them manages to finally slip free of his bonds and free another. The newly-freed man stoops down and picks up a massive thigh-bone, which he uses to menace a nearby kobold!
Rather than introduce a bunch more combatants to an already crowded field, the scenario says this: "treat the miners as an advantageous effect that grants the PCs a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls and a +2 bonus to AC for the entire battle." Huzzah! That's a pretty good buff you did, Instrument!
Blayne to finish out the round!
Blayne Cooper |
"Have at them! Cayden rewards the bold! " Blayne steps on to attack the closest yellow on map kobold with his rapier!
Rapier with Adjustments: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

DM Khel |
Blayne further reduces the kobolds' numbers, dropping one in a single strike!
Map edited to remove the dead ones, longer post to follow as time allows...
DM Khel |
The rapier-wielding kobold calls out something in their screechy language, and most of the kobolds descend on the Instrument! A few others make attacks on the other Pathfinders, but the only blows that land are on Aroden’s messenger on Golarion, knocking him unconscious!
Sorry to pile on you, Instrument, but you were the closest target to most of the baddies, and you just rallied the miners, so the kobolds figured you were the leader. Maybe you are!

DM Khel |
In spite of their 'leader' being felled, the Pathfinders show their mettle! Wayne takes a step back and blows away the blue-scaled kobold who had been trying to stab him, then spins and puts his next bullet into one of the kobolds that took down the Instrument, killing that one also!
Bastion raises his enormous dagger-on-a-stick and slashes at another kobold, driving it to the ground, where it stays.
Three more down, map updated. Blayne and Torriki are up.
Torriki |
"Instrument! You'll pay for this you tiny little bastard!"
The Fox steps up and stabs at a kobold dotted black with a gnashing of the teeth for good measure.

Torriki - what is the second roll for?
Torriki manages to slip his blade past the kobold's guard and stab him!
DM Khel |
Ah, so. I was confused by the 'Rapier' label, didn't look at the modifiers. Thought perhaps he had a keen weapon at first level, which seemed unlikely.
Blayne Cooper |
Blayne is going to attack the kobold with the rapier.

My bad. That's what I get for posting first thing in the morning on a Saturday before class. My game load is also shrinking, so my sloppiness in posting should shrink too. Yes, that was a bite.
DM Khel |
Blayne – I moved you to the only spot you could attack him from without getting multiple attacks of opportunity on you.
Torriki - no worries, just want to be sure I play it right on my end.
The kobold’s armor stops Blayne’s blade, and the kobolds attack! A spear and a sword thrust leave Torriki wobbling where he stands!

Torriki, nearly dead from his wounds is set on by the kobolds. Just before the telling blow lands, a rock from a freed slave deflects it just enough I didn't change my bar. AC is 19 with the "buff". Still, I'm sitting at 2 HP.
The rogue, nearly dead on his feet tries a stab, hoping to drop the kobold. The follow up bite is weak at best and really just sprays his own blood.

Oops, my bad, Torriki - I should have remembered the AC bonus, after reminding you guys about it. It looks like you took a 5-foot step after attacking, right?
Torriki once again gets past the kobold's guard, slipping his blade into the creature's side, but it fights on! Blayne tries his luck again, but is unable to penetrate the swordsman's defense.

Yes, it missed you, which is why I said 'the attacks miss.' The '-1 hp' for you in the initiative list, which may be confusing, is an error. It's actually -5 (see my initiative post above the previous one), which is your running total for damage.
Blayne follows Torriki's example and practices with his rapier, all of their attacks missing the last kobold standing!
Bastion is up!

The kobold blade sees he's surrounded, with a giant, heavily-armored half-orc before him and a pair of hopeful, though largely ineffective, swordsman to either side. He rolls his eyes in fear and, in a move inspired by desperation, dives past Torriki and rolls to his feet! Without looking back, he hurries away, screeching and shouting to his kin!
Acrobatics to avoid lots of AoO's: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
With his Acro move at half speed, and then a move action at regular speed, he's now 30' north of the north edge of the map. We'll call combat over unless y'all feel like a chase.
With the defeat of the kobolds in the temple, the hooting and shrieking of the dragon-kin subsides, and the ruins below grow relatively calm. The miners rejoice in their freedom, thanking the Pathfinders warmly, tears in their eyes with the relief of still being alive. ”They were going to paint us up and then sacrifice us!” one of them explains, grabbing Blayne’s arm and nearly jumping up and down with joy. ”I’m gonna buy you folks drinks for a week when we get out of here!” Another throws down the bloody wyvern bone in his hand and says, ”But first, let’s get out of here. There’s hundreds more kobolds around, it’s just a matter of time before some more show up here and call on their hellish dragon god for aid.”
Looking around the scene of the battle, Torriki’s sharp eye notes that a leather satchel bearing the Glyph of the Open Road—the insignia of the Pathfinder Society— leans against the defaced altar. It is the only trace of Venture-Captain Nieford Sharrowsmith. Within are spoiled rations, an elixir of vision, and one of his field notebooks. Flipping to the last pages reveals what must be Sharrowsmith’s final notes before losing the notebook.
