No map, as it doesn't exist.

Virtus throws an alchemist's fire and burns the jelly! Captain Johnson vaults past the creature and slices a good portion of it into the river of sewage!

Effluvium jelly: 24/46

Male Catfolk Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 | HP: 18/18 | AC 18 (Armor, Dex) (ff 14, t 14) | Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +0 | Init +4, Perc +5, scent | Claws (2) +5 (1d4+2), Sling +5 (1d4+2)
with mutagen:
HP: 18/18 | AC 20 (Armor, Dex, Natural) (ff 16, t 14) | Fort +5, Ref +9, Will -1 | Init +6, Perc +4, scent | Claws (2) +7 (1d4+2), Sling +7 (1d4+2)

Ok. Is that gonna be the way for most battles, or do the majority have maps? What size is the jelly, and how many squares are there adjacent to it that aren't in the sewage?

Inactive

Fortitude vs stench: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Kirzon is nauseated by the smell of this jelly creature. But that doesn't stop him from entering the fray.

"Heat? I've got all the heat I need right here." Kirzon takes a step into the sewage and attacks ferociously at the slime creature.

Can Kirzon 5-foot step into the sewage? If so, he should be adjacent, and will dare a secondary bite attack against this slime. Nobody said he's smart.

Greatsword Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 2 = 24; damage: 2d6 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 - 2 = 9
Crit?: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 2 = 7; crit damage: 2d6 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 - 2 = 6
Bite Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7; Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Fortitude vs. filth fever: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10 And he has it! What is filth fever?

Human Male Invulnerable Rager 3 Resource Tracker
Rage:
HP 42/42 | AC 16 (armor, Dex) (14ff, 10t) | +9 fort +3 Ref +3 Will (superstition +3 vs magic, SLA's etc) | +2 Init +5 Perc
Normal:
HP 33/33 | AC 18 (armor, Dex) (16ff, 12t) | +6 fort +3 Ref +1 Will | +2 Init +5 Perc

Not sure we'd know what it is in game, but ooc: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/afflictions/diseases/filth-fever

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

R!Kktik is overcome by the stench of the ooze and juggles a flask in one hand, trying to judge the distance. Is it big enough that R!Kktik could drop a splash weapon onto it without damaging Kirzon, Johnson, or Shelai?

DC 19 Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Dark Archive

Theoretically, because the ooze is large, you could.

Zrair, most encounters have battlemaps. At the moment, there are no adjacent squares that are not in sewage.

Filth fever onset: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Two days shall pass before you suffer the full effects of filth fever. It can be removed through conventional means or two consecutive saves shall get rid of it too.

Effluvium jelly: 13/46

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

The ratfolk swallows bile and hurls a flask at the nauseating ooze, his experienced eye and the creature's size allowing him to hit it while avoiding his allies with the splash.

Alchemist's fire, ranged touch attack, incl. PBS and sickened: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 2 = 23
Base damage, incl. PBS: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

Dark Archive

The fire burns the jelly, causing a serious amount of damage.

Effluvium jelly: 3/46

Shelai Attack (greatsword): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Shelai Damage (greatsword): 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12

Fortitude Save 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Fortitude Save 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Fortitude Save 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Not only does Shelai slay the effluvium jelly, she also manages to completely avoid any disease.

Onwards, ho!

Those were some nice rolls! Glad they were for our team. :P

Kirzon steps out of the mucky water and cleans off the filth from his armor and sword as best he can. "Disgusting creatures, but easily slain."

"I'll take point from here. My eyes are better suited to these sewers."

Kirzon will take the lead position from Shelai going forward. Unless there's loot or something, I'm ready to move on.

"You took a dip in that filthy water, can anyone apply a pultice to draw out any feaver that might result?"

Might be worth a heal check here, to prevent more stat damage...

"It's nothing, I'll be fine," he grumbles. "We've been through much worse than a little muck." Still, Kirzon heeds his captain's advice, and spends a little time conjuring clean water to clear off the muck. Cast create water.

I will catch up more tomorrow, I am exhausted from school today.

Fort DC 19: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Fort DC 19: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Got the one antiplauge, if you want it Kirzon.

The alchemist stands up straight, having recovered from the wave of nausea brought on by the ooze's aura of stench.

"I have no desire to examine this foe," Zrair shakes his head. He consults the map again, but can make no more sense of it than before.

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

The ratfolk is a bit green around the whiskers, but also recovers quickly once the fire has burned itself out. "Zrair. Sounded like you. Had a hairball."

Can save the antiplague for later if needed. If I understand the disease rules (which are new to me), I think with the heal check and a Remove Sickness scroll or spell will be good enough to give me a +8 to the next save which comes in two days, so I should make that. Then I need to make one more save and I'll be cured without any ill effect. Does that seem right?

Dark Archive

For filth fever, that is correct.

F Suli Paladin (Oath against undead)/2

Oops! ignore my rolls then! Didnt see you rolled for me. Long day monday...

Shelai looks at everyone, judging their conditions. "Are we okay to advance?"

"Kirzon has got himself presentable again, so yes lets get a move on. But careful like, no telling what else is down here..."

M Samsaran Wizard 1

"Yes, let us continue." said Virtus. "The sooner we deal with these cretins, the sooner we can get out of this filth."

"Couldn't have said it better," Zrair gripes.

Kirzon and Shelai swap positions this time?

F Suli Paladin (Oath against undead)/2

Sure

"Then let's go!" bellows Kirzon. He assumes the lead position, following the guidance of the map readers and trackers.

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

R!Kktik falls in at the rear of the party, looking back over his shoulder to make sure no one is following them.

F Suli Paladin (Oath against undead)/2

Shelai follows Kirzon, trying to be as perceptive as possible.

Male Catfolk Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 | HP: 18/18 | AC 18 (Armor, Dex) (ff 14, t 14) | Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +0 | Init +4, Perc +5, scent | Claws (2) +5 (1d4+2), Sling +5 (1d4+2)

Zrair squeezes in between Johnson and R!Kktik.

"Just like home, baldtail?" he nods facetiously to his fellow alchemist.

"The stench of this place, it's worse than an Ogre's arse." Kirzon keeps his eyes peeled for danger.

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

R!Kktik grins. "Except for the smell. And no grooming. You volun--no. Bad idea."

Its been nearly two weeks now since our GM last posted. He's also AWOL in another game I'm playing in where we're used to him vanishing for a few days, but not this long. Judging by his posting history this isn't the first time where "life threw a curve ball", so I guess this probably over. Shame since the concept seemed pretty cool!

F Suli Paladin (Oath against undead)/2

It did. Oh well... :(

Inactive

Yeah, it was pretty exciting while it was going.

M Samsaran Wizard 1

Well that's a shame. It's been a pleasure.

Male Ratfolk Alch/1 | AC 17| HP 14/14 | F +5 R +8 W +4 |Perc +4|

I was going to give him two weeks before I posted what the Captain did. It was fun while it lasted, and maybe I'll see you all around the boards. (Zrair, we'll have to find a longer-lived campaign to do the cat-and-rat schtick with. Baldtail...gotta remember that one.)

F Suli Paladin (Oath against undead)/2

See y'all. Happy hunting. :)

Male Catfolk Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 | HP: 18/18 | AC 18 (Armor, Dex) (ff 14, t 14) | Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +0 | Init +4, Perc +5, scent | Claws (2) +5 (1d4+2), Sling +5 (1d4+2)

Darn. We didn't even get to see which of Zrair and R!K would die first. I hate to throw away what was shaping up to be a fun party dynamic, but I guess there's nothing for it. Ya'll take it easy.
