@DM Hector. I told you what Alexei is going to do. He is going to use Inspiring Command on whoever appears to be in the most danger, or is most involved in the fighting, unless other wise noted.
It shouldn't be a problem, but if for some reason I don't post and people are waiting on me, have Alexei take an action you think would be appropriate for his character.

Henric's attack will be enough to knock Giggles unconscious. And Alatariel's attack will indeed be enough to knock out the dog as well, but she goes after you.
On a note, this is my first time GMing a PbP, so I'm still trying to work some of the kinks out, especially for combat. Would you guys rather just Do the initiatives, and post in order to keep things strait? Or are you fine with it this way? I'm open for input.

Marcus Ignatius |

Waiting for everyone to post in order of initiative is going to slow down an already sluggish process. The way I usually run things is to have everyone declare their actions, then have the round unfold in proper order of initiative, and if someone hasn't posted their combat action within 16 hours of a round starting (though most GMs do 24 hours), the GM puppets them for the round.
It can cause a few complications when actions overlap or cancel each other out, but this can be resolved pretty easily by allowing re-declarations of actions for PCs who had targets drop or their actions otherwise become non-viable. Also, if the GM resolves the round in pieces, as you've done so far (that is, having a round resolve down to a certain initiative count once the right people have posted), it also tends to speed things up.

Henric's attack will be enough to knock Giggles unconscious.
Woo!
Okay. Pretty much what Marcus said. Feel free to roll initiaive (and post an initiative order) but we all need to post our actions (and adjust on the fly) to keep the ball rolling. Consider me vehemently opposed to trying to do this in initiative order, because we'll get through a round per week at that rate. Remember that some of us are on the other side of the Pacific.
I think we're just waiting on Dhan, but you should post your intentions ooc in the main thread, and Hector can work things out from there.
If you do want to wait to get a lay of the land, I'd say delay to Initiative count 1 and take an extra action at the start of the next round. That'd probably be acceptable.

Before going much further, I had a thought. How dark are you guys comfortable getting with this campaign? Due to (in my opinion) the noir-ish elements of this AP, I can go either Sin City or Dick Tracey. So, are we gonna get grim and gritty, or high adventurous?

Alexei Sadron-Boroi |

I don't know much about either, though more familiar with Dick Tracey style. Considering that the jist of the story is an confronting an possessed queen while dealing with riots, plague, gangs, and the undead. Darkness, Sin City, sounds appropriate. Say 60% Sin, 40% Tracey. One request though, don't make every single person in a position of authority corrupt/evil. That's annoying. Same goes for constant betrayal/bad things happening if we do a kind deed.

DM Hector |

That's really not what I meant. (Great job with the plot spoilers though) What I meant was how comfortable is everyone with bad things happening to good people for seemingly no reason. IRL there are some subjects that are touchy for many people (ie, like the death of children, which might or might not be about to happen). I just wanted to see how comfortable everyone is with such things before going much farther.

Marcus Ignatius |

I'm not overly familiar with Dick Tracey (haven't seen it in decades), but based on what I do know I'd lean towards it over Sin City, for a few reasons. One of them is that CotCT seems really suited to a pulp style adventure. The other is that I'd like to be able to play an edgy character without him being evil, which is tough to do in a settings with that hard Sin City feel.

DM Hector |

On a note guys, sorry if my posts are getting slim. I'm on rotation right now, and working roughly 14ish hour days. I should be done in about a week and a half. I'll keep up with what's going on, but just so you know that if I don't post for a day or two I haven't quit. I'm just exhausted when I get home.

Twigs |

No problems, I'm just finishing up my exams now. I've my final one come monday, then I'll be free as a bird for a couple of months.
I'm happy for bad things to happen, but I'd like some balance, there. I DMed a Runelords game (I'm actually thinking of starting another on these forums in a few weeks...) and while the tone gets VERY dark there's a good balance of light-hearted moments too. I suppose I'd cast my vote for keeping the nastiness in moderation. I'm playing my first LG character in a lifetime, so I'd like some chances to flaunt it.

Twigs |

I'm going to have to bow out of this one guys. I know my posting as already been erattic, and I'm about to start up a face-to-face game this weekend, so prepping for that and lesson plans, I probably won't have time to give the thread the attention that it deserves.
I'm real sad to see you go. I was enjoying our interaction. You sure you wont reconsider? The pace seems to have mellowed a fair bit lately.

DM Hector |

I'm wanting to get the pace back up. Between my work rotation and going on vacation for the holiday, I've been having trouble posting regularly. I'm heading home tomorrow and will once again have access to my books. So, yeah, sorry for the pace of posting as of late. But, as I don't have rotation in Dec., nor will I be travelling, I'm all set for a while.

Twigs |

Still around! My PbPs have gotten away from me. This is the first time I've ever worked full time. It's really taken it out of me. I'd be sad to see this game go. The prose, atmosphere and pacing are great, it's my favourite campaign running at the moment.
Perhaps it'd be time to recruit again? I gather we wont be hearing from Nina.

Twigs |

I wouldn't mind filling out the ranks a little, personally. I fancy big groups over smaller ones (I only game in person with three other people) and if more people would save this game from falling down the brink somewhere down the road ('cause lets face it, life gets in the way like that) all the better.
Also just a heads up, I'll be down the coast for a weeks time come Thursday. We headed down for schoolies (a big post-highschool graduation holiday/pissup) last holidays and we've rallied the forces for another year. We're now official, bona-fide Toolies. Woo!)
I'll be bringing my brand new beginner box down and trying to do some recruiting but the reactions Ive gotten have been pretty mixed, sadly. We'll see how it goes. :)

Dhan Semloh |

Do we have anyone who can detect magic..as I think the potion and the wand might be. Also I think we were going to return he holy symbol to the church (I think someone made that suggestion) and I will fence the rest...Should come to a total of 1485gp. How many of us are still here??

Alexei Sadron-Boroi |

You, Alexei, Riel, and Henric(who is currently being NPCed, but is with the party.) I already cast detect magic back at the warehouse. Hector said only the cards radiated magic. I suggested taking the holy symbol back to the temple. Figured we could do that after returning the brooch.
