For awareness Initiative is unimportant, but given there is a time component, we will do round by round

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai shakes off his weariness and nods. "I will summon help again. Just a moment."

SMV: djinn

When the genie appears, Nowzai points to the fissure. "Innocents are trapped below. Please help us, friend!"

The genie is intelligent, so you can direct its actions specifically. Arrives next round

Initiative

Dalamus will attempt to run into one of the alley's

I think I am ok, but I was looking around for others that need help. Those horses could trample some if they continue. Is there anyone in the direction that they are heading?

Dalamus

There are others along the paths, but I cannot predict where the stampede will go ... as I look back along the trail they've left behind them, they've been fairly erratic in their progress through the city. It looks like they came from the Surefoot Livery ... must've been something that happened to the building. They've left a trail of destruction in their wake

Dalamus darts to an alley as the cattle and horses charge buy ... they appear panicked and wounded.

Is there a skill needed to be able to fashion a harness out of a rope?

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

The djinn flies down and collects as many trapped citizens as he can.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Ma'puande Retcon:

She casts Summon Monster V (She burns her last 6th level spell) - Bralani: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

She asks them, in celestial "There are innocents trapped in that fissure, please bring them to me. Be as quick, but as careful, as you can be.
With Augment summoning they should have 24str, hopefully they can lift them out.

Survival or Craft or Profession of some sort

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Tlanextic: maybe cast charm monster on the lead animal and try to guide them to a safe spot? Tlanextic will stick with Dalamus.

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

I have none of those things, Sam will delay to see who all is left after the summons do their things

Again with my forgotten campaign ... ugh, I am the worst. Sorry gentlemen, I actually really like this chapter. Let me try and pick it up

The Crushing Chasm

Round 1: Ma'puande and Nowzai cast their summons. The paladin and magus stand or hover around and watch.
Round 2: The summons appear. Each of the outsiders nods in understanding and they fly down and secure four of the trapped citizens (the first four are the unconscious ones. The 25 wide chasm begins to close in, making it 20 feed wide now. The citizens begin to scream.[/ooc]
Round 3:The outsiders bring the four unconscious victims up and drop them off on the street.

Keep letting this cycle play out or are you all doing anything else?

The Stampede

Tlanextic ghosts along near Dalamus, still flying over the rooftops (and invisible?)

The livery is a couple miles away, I can direct you there past the obstacles. Do you wish to try and stop this stampede? Perhaps we could use some magic or other tricks to try and lead it safely out of the city? I could attempt to charm the lead horse or cattle if you can help me determine which it is?

Dalamus to make a perception check

Female Human (Zenji) Oracle 12; AC 23, touch 13, flat-footed 22; hp 79; Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +10; Init +7; Senses lifesense, Perception +0

Ma'puande will cast another Symbol of Healing on the ground and direct her Bralani to place the others there as well.

Symbol of Healing: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (4, 6) + 12 = 22

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Knowledge (geography): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

Nowzai pulls from his knowledge, attempting to ascertain the most at risk victims and directing the summons to aid them first.

"Epik, please pull the survivors back to safety. Sama'el, can you hasten the flying help?"

Male Human Paladin (Oath Against Fiends) 13; AC 25 (32 with SE), HP 82/(temp max 124), Fort +20, Ref +14, Will +17, Init +1, Greatsword +17/+12/+7(2d6+7/19-20x2)

Epik pulls up victims where possible.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

"That is a great idea, I think it is, that one" He then points to his best guess, based on the roll

Perception
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Sam will haste the summons and move to assist

Male Couatl Cohort of Nowzai

Dalamus

Dalamus eyes the herd for a moment and then picks one out. Tlanextic casts its charm monster from overhead.

Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

I have succeeded ... what shall I do with it now? I don't speak .. "bovine" ... but can attempt to lead it, I suppose? Where should I take them?

Epik

Ma'puande puts up a symbol which near instantly brings back the unconscious victims as they come close to it. The symbol continues to radiate and some of the nearby bystanders have their bruises and cuts healed as well, and they look upon the oracle with awe. A murmur passes through the crowd and some folks run off in different directions.

Sam joins the rescue effort.

Round 4: Sam casts haste and moves with the summons into the crack; Nowzai calls out which to rescue first. The crack closes to 15 feet
Round 5: Sam and the outsiders bring 5 more people out
Round 6: The rescuers return. The crack closes to 10 feet.
Round 7: The remaining 5 people are brought out by the team
Rund 8-10: The crack shuts completely, leaving a strange 1 foot elevation change in the middle of the street.

The folks that ran off earlier bring others to the symbol of healing, taking care of broken bones, sprains, cuts and others. All in all, Ma'puande heals several dozen people over the 10 minutes her symbol is active.

Gain 9 evacuation points for this section plus 2 for neighboring sections due the healing

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai partakes in the healing aura as he tells the rescued citizens where to evacuate. "Please, do not linger or go back for sentimental things. Time is of the essence and you must get to safety as quickly as possible."

When the crowd is on its way, he joins the others and continues on our rotation.

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

"We should try and find Dalamus"

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Try to lead them to the western gate out of the city, take this left then the next left, I will cut through the properties and tell you where to go after that. They will stay to the roads

Dalamus will start down the first street on the left and cut straight through the property at the next intersection, so that he can give
Tlanextic directions.

Dalamus will activate his boots of Haste so that he will be faster

Male Human Paladin (Oath Against Fiends) 13; AC 25 (32 with SE), HP 82/(temp max 124), Fort +20, Ref +14, Will +17, Init +1, Greatsword +17/+12/+7(2d6+7/19-20x2)

Epik nods at Nowzai. "Well done. Where to next? Shall we head to the northeast? Where has Dalamus gotten off to?"

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai concentrates for a moment, then replies. "Dalamus is with Tlanextic, to the south of here. They are well for the moment. I can lead us to them."

Dalamus

Dalamus turns up the speed and quickly outpaces the stampede. A combination of his lead and Tlanextic's urging, the stampede follows in behind the half-elf and burning through his boots of speed magic he is able to lead them on a path out the western gate, diving out of the way as the last of his daily boot magic expires. He is about to make a quip when he catches a bizarre sight off to the east.

Gain 6 Evacuation Points for clearing the stampede

An immensely obese creature flies in lazy circles in the sky on bat-like wings that seem too small to effectively support its bulk. The creature’s leathery skin is knobbed, rough, and coated with pale green slime. Its bloated face is demonic and hateful. A crowd of cowering civilians huddles below the circling monster as it barks out orders in a thick, phlegmatic voice. The townsfolk root through the rubble of a fallen building, placing stones atop each other as if building some sort of structure.

Team Epik

@Nowzai -- how do you intend to track Dalamus? Tlanextic's telepathy is good to 100 feet

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

How high is the flying demon?

Knowledge Place
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33

More to come on the answers above

Nevermind. I was thinking familiar.

Nowzai shakes his head, forestalling his own offer. "Indeed I cannot locate them without preparing a different spell or two. We could move in that general direction and hope to find them, or continue on our own way."

About 20 feet

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Anything more from the knowledge check?

Female Human (Zenji) Oracle 12; AC 23, touch 13, flat-footed 22; hp 79; Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +10; Init +7; Senses lifesense, Perception +0

Ma'puande says "I can cast Sending to him. "Dalamus, where are you currently, we will make our way to you. 25 words or less"

Dalamus:

You identify the creature as a kelubar, or a slimy demodand, shock troops of the demodands normally responsible for gathering and keeping slaves. Strong, brutal and of average intelligence, they are cruel masters of acid and strength, resistance to weapons, spells, fire and cold.

At the same time you receive a magical sending from Ma'puande. (see above ... you hear her voice and can reply)

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

"I am looking at a demodand gathering slaves over by the west gate. He is hovering in the air, come quick"

Dalamus will watch from behind the corner of the building

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Assuming Ma'puande passes the news...

Nowzai nods and points in the direction of the west gate. "This way, let's go."

Great responses here guys ...

Nowzai pulls everyone else by the nose and drags them through the city.

4000 feet at your speed will take you 66 rounds at double move through the city. 33 if we assumed you ran ...

Dalamus

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

The outsider is focused on its task and notices neither Dalamus nor Tlanextic (who I assume is invisible again if he has enough uses?)

It's going to take them a while to get to you, Dalamus. Are you waiting for them?

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai has no teleport prepared and has already used his bond. Unless the summons can carry us a ways by flying, I'm spent of abilities. Anyone else?

To be fair, 33 rounds is just 3 minutes.

Couatl: Invisibility at will.

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Sam will spend 4 points of AP and recall Teleport and get us into the fight quickly, I can bring 4 plus myself and

Teleport failure - 1d100 ⇒ 8

I am assuming I am at least seen casually?

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

We can probably see it from the street. The city is a big bowl.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

I was thinking that I would wait to engage the demon until help arrives. I am assuming that they were close, but he has no real idea. So unless something changes with the demon, he will hide and watch it.

As Dalamus considers how long he should wait for them, the entire party appears near the gate and comes to join you.

Sam, you've been through the Western gate a bunch of times, I'd say it's more than casual

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

I figured, either way the roll was good enough no matter what

Know Plane - 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (9) + 23 = 32

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (15) + 31 = 46

Nowzai regards the fiend dourly. "A kelubar demodand, or 'slimy' in the crude vernacular. They are shock troops and often in charge of collecting and tending slaves. They are strong, use acid, and resist fire and cold."

He looks to Epik, "Lead on."

Male Human Paladin (Oath Against Fiends) 13; AC 25 (32 with SE), HP 82/(temp max 124), Fort +20, Ref +14, Will +17, Init +1, Greatsword +17/+12/+7(2d6+7/19-20x2)

Epik draws his weapon. "We must destroy this evil."

He turns to the spellcasters. "Who can bring this thing to the ground or bring me to it?"

Female Human (Zenji) Oracle 12; AC 23, touch 13, flat-footed 22; hp 79; Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +10; Init +7; Senses lifesense, Perception +0

Ma'Puande tells Epik, "Sir Epik, I can only cast a levitation spell upon you."

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will run around the back of the building and enter the alley, he will then cast spider climb and climb to the roof. He will try not to be noticed by the creature

Stealth
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai shakes his head. "My flight spells are expended. Sama'el perhaps?"

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

I can't seem to load the map

"Yes Epik I can cast fly on you, let's quickly prepare any defensive spells and bring the fight to it"

Sam has haste as well if Nowzai is out
