Epik |
Shaking from the fiend's blashemy, Epik will smite evil on the beast and will then activate the divine bond with his great sword (+2 holy).
Nowzai al'Nazari |
All the people we were trying to rescue are toast?
If any of the citizens survived the unholy word, Nowzai waves the back, shouting for them to scatter and find cover. He turns back to the creature and starts to cast. A meteor appears and smashes into the thing's back. He also uses his metamagic rod to swiftly send a sonic bolt into its face.
Cometfall: 14d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 4, 4, 6, 2, 6, 5, 2, 5, 5, 3, 1) = 57 ... DC 25 Ref save for half. I assume the prone part is silly vs a swimming creature?

The Crater Lake Monster
Init: Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster, Sam
Sam casts Ward Shield .. (Not seeing where you didn't take the teleport, but since you didn't post after Nowzai at all, the default is generally to do nothing so I'll leave you on the coast per your wish)
Ma'puande's elemental arrives and she directs it to attack. (Not sure if you ignored me or just didn't see it, but I can't wait any longer. I will look up the elemental's movement for this effort and technically it could make it there on a charge (100 foot movement rate), which you didn't ask for but I'll assume you want it to do that). Last time, since I don't track summoned creatures' stats. Also, Ma'puande will lose her action this turn since you didn't post one for her)
It charges and misses. (-2 penalty to AC for next round)
Nowzai casts a pair of spells. (I was incorrect ... it isn't spell penetration it's something else ...)
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Fort Save: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
.. the comet smashes into the creature but the sound lance reverses direction and goes speeding back at Nowzai. (Fort Save to you or take the damage)
Epik and Dalamus prepare for the next turn and look to the citizens.
Epik |
Unable to engage the creature, Epik moves to the three villagers on the western end of the dock and attempts to shepherd them to safety. "You must move quickly - there isn't much time!"

Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Nowzai is surprised by the reflected spell, but manages to block it with a quick counter ward.
"It reflects magic! Be wary what you cast," Nowzai warns, wincing as Dalamus sends a fireball its way.
Nowzai moves a few paces down the dock, casting another spell. This one conjures a shimmering blade of force in front of the beast. The sword immediately attacks.

The Crater Lake Monster Round 3
Init: Sam, Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster
Sam casts dimension door and takes Ma'puande over who then channels energy healing the party (Was anyone hurt?) but the dead citizens with blood streaming from the ears don't move at all.
Nowzai summons a force sword that strikes the creature, but the party is unsure if it harms it. (Spell penetration necessary now ... it wasn't first round)
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Dalamus casts a fireball and somehow the spell does not reflect upon him and his very precariously placed "rescued" citizens. It explodes in fire around the creature.
Roll Spell penetration
Epik ushers a few more citizens off the dock. They run to Dalamus in the woods.
The creature turns it's gaping tentacles maw and gaze toward Nowzai and flicks a tentacle in the wizard's direction. The wizened man feels the moisture being sucked out of his body.
Fort Save DC22 for half: 16d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 5, 4, 5, 3, 3, 4, 4, 6, 4, 1, 1, 3, 3) = 56
Action draws an attack of opportunity from the air elemental for the spell and then it will move as well, drawing another.

As much as you need Sam, I'm no longer waiting on him after over 2 weeks since he last posted. We gotta move faster than a round a week
The Crater Lake Monster Round 4
Init: Sam, Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster
Reflex vs Fireball: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17;
Dalamus' luck holds again and the fireball doesn't reflect back, but this time the power of it fades as it hits the creature's purple aura the magic washing away into nothing.
Tlanextic flies forward as a disembodied voice, and this time, having a way out, the villagers flee with his prompting off the dock to the woods to the west.
Mark, the elemental gets an AoO for the move and one for the spell, because it has combat reflexes it can attack both times, but it only gets one attack per provocation ... make sense? I'll use your attack rolls in order as its actual attack (assuming the elemental moves to attack?), since you keep forgetting to roll those with your post or reposition the elemental)
The air elemental's opportune attacks both just barely miss as the massive creature darts sluggishly to the west. It moves to follow, drawing a casual claw swipe from the creature as it gets closer. The creature is lazy however and its claw doesn't come near the elemental.
AoO: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19; miss
Ma'puande's prayer radiates through the air, instilling everyone with divine guidance. (+1 luck bonus to hit, damage, skills, saves, ability checks)
Nowzai's sword tears through the creature twice shredding holes and severing tentacles. The wizard himself starts a summoning spell.
Epik fires and sends a single arrow imbued with holy radiance ripping through the pulsing black aura and plunging deep into the monster. It's entire body convulses in agony as it spins on the paladin.
Moving to the east (Drawing a single attack of opportunity from the elemental) the creature whips around a tentacle wrapped around something and a bolt of lighting fires out from it shooting out over Epik, Nowzai and Tlanextic.
All three of you take 60 points of electrical damage. Make reflex saves DC14 for half

The force blade continues to attack.

Init: Sam, Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster
Sam flies forward and casts a magical ray.

The ray reverses direction and shoots at Sam.

Ma'puande's elemental continues to flail fruitlessly at the aberrant beast. The oracle herself heals hitting Epik and Nowzai.
Nowzai loses his spell and starts another, gaining a heal from Tlanextic. His sword strikes again.
Epik moves toward Sam with his sword at the ready as Dalamus climbs a tree.
Writhed in energy and crackling with pulses of smoking black and purple halos, the creature lumbers forward through the air and with a slime encrusted tentacle, lashes out at Epik with a smashing blow that rips unholy energy and through the paladin and leaves behind a seeking, oozing secretion.
To hit: 1d20 + 19 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 19 + 6 = 42

The Crater Lake Monster Round 6
Init: Sam, Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster
Sam casts fly on Epik as Ma'puande ponders the fight. Nowzai completes his summon but his sword misses.
The shark leaps from the water and takes a giant gouge out of the side of the Monster and the unholy aura lashes back out. As the shark falls back into the water, it is nearly consumed by the boiling water and gaseous vapors.
Shark takes: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Strength damage; Fort Save DC28 to negate.
Immersed in Boiling Water Damage: 10d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 1, 3, 2, 6, 4, 1, 4) = 34
Dalamus thinks about his life choices as Epik, now flying, darts toward the Monster, who bites at him as he approaches.
AoO: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (15) + 22 = 37; Damage: 4d6 + 26 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 1) + 26 = 36
Epik strikes with his sword, blazing with divine energy, but the unholy aura prevents him from getting through and his blade misses by inches.
The creature recoils in anguish from the shark, but looks with fear at the paladin's sword and forgoes flying this round to lash out a barrage of attacks at the paladin. (with Smite, I'm not sure what Epik's current AC is ... take damage from those that hit, I'm assuming you are grappled)
Bite: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (7) + 24 = 31; Damage: 4d6 + 26 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 2) + 26 = 39

4 Tentacle grapple: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (6) + 32 = 38; grappled Fort Save DC28 or have skin cursed as above.
Clawing and biting at Epik, the creature savages the paladin before it wraps him up in its tentacles and then they both plummet into the boiling water.
Initial Contact Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 ... boiling water damage next round

Ma'puande |
On her turn Ma'puande will move up 15ft, and the use Channeling again, hopefully she'll hit Epik, without hitting the creature. (she also secretly wishes she had gained 13th level so she could take Selective Channeling)
Channeling: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 2, 6, 4) = 23 Healing
Ma'puande then asks the Air elemental to attempt to grapple the beast and keep it from plunging into the boiling water.

The Crater Lake Monster Round 7
Init: Sam, Ma'puande, Nowzai, Dalamus, Epik, Monster
Sam delays as Nowzai prepares his spells, casting the fire resistance and then immediately swapping Epik and the tiefling. Epik finds him self suddenly free of the tentacle and quickly heals himself. (Still have a standard action) whereas Sam finds himself half submerged in boiling water. [ooc](take 1d6 ⇒ 5 fire damage this round, which the resistance sheds)
Dalamus watches from afar and Ma'puande is able to heal Epik easier now that he is on the dock.
The elemental, the shark, and the sword miss the creature.
Sam and Epik remaining actions
Ma'puande |
Ma'puande moves to near Epik and casts Heal on him
Heal enables you to channel positive energy into a creature to wipe away injury and afflictions. It immediately ends any and all of the following adverse conditions affecting the target: ability damage, blinded, confused, dazed, dazzled, deafened, diseased, exhausted, fatigued, feebleminded, insanity, nauseated, poisoned, sickened, and stunned. It also cures 10 hit points of damage per level of the caster, to a maximum of 150 points at 15th level.
Heal does not remove negative levels or restore permanently drained ability score points.
If used against an undead creature, heal instead acts like harm.
120 points of healing...If the total exceeds his total he keeps 12 point of Temp HPs.
She asks the Elemental to continue to attempt to grapple the beast.
