The charmed slayer looks about at what's going on with slight consternation and then turns and jogs out the front of the church.
Sam flies around.
Nowzai's archon appears cutting into the slayer immediately. Epik takes the thug down with 3 swift cuts. Nowzai follows up with a volley of magic missiles on the Agent. Tlanextic fires rays of fire from its eyes scorching the agent to the NW.
Dalamus engages the burned Agent as it appears from the shadows, his weapon highly effective against the rogue and gets some solid blows in, the lawful energy ripping at the man's being, severely hurting him.
Ma'puande begins summoning.
Both the agents try to feint their opponents and follow up with a deadly strike.

Sam floats up and over the wall to the north.
Nowzai's hound archon and Epik combine with the wizard's missiles and Ma'puande's hammer to drop the newly arrived agent.
The wolves and Dalamus drop the other agent.
Given the speed at which the two agents get cut down, the remaining slayer withdraws from the fight and runs back into the next room, shouting a warning once he clears the door.

The party tears off around the corner to find the Slayer fallen to his knees with a knife in his throat ... gurgling as he dies.
You hear a single maniacal giggle that then trails off ... in 2 different directions, the arcane remnants of two recently cast dimensional doors.
A set of masterwork thieves tools lies spread open on the floor in front of the still closed and locked door to Jenya's private sanctuary.

Epik tries Jenya's door and then turns to Dalamus, "Can you open it?"

Ma'puande will add her voice and call out - "Lady Jenya, can you hear us?"
She has one more 4th spell, so she could issue a SENDING, but then we're down to 3rd level healings. Up to you guys

Tlanextic gives a telepathic confirmation of assent and flies out of the Temple.
Ma'puande and Nowzai holler at the door but hear nothing.
Dalamus begins working on the door, but finds it magically reinforced and sees why the Last Laugh infiltrators were stymied.
Sam then slips through a crack in gaseous form, recoalescing on the other side.
He finds Jenya seated in a lotus position with the Star of Justice laid across her lap. She appears oblivious to the banging on the door and Sam's entrance.

When Sam appears and speaks, Jenya starts and comes out of her reverie.
With a wave of her hand, Sam hears a visible pop and gets a blast of fresh air and a notable pressure change.
"You came! Thank goodness, I thought I was a goner. The Jester came personally to steal the Star. What an opportunistic bastard."
She bites her lip with worry, "Did everyone else get out?"

"The Jester is the guildmaster of the Last Laugh. I did not see him, I only heard him working outside the door to break the lock, so I reinforced it with magic and set myself into a protective sphere. He laughed ... a lot. He is not ... sane."
She waves a hand and dismisses the magic holding the door and Sam unlocks/opens it, allowing the rest of the party to enter.

Epik steps into the room and sighs with relief upon seeing that Jenya is safe. "What was the Jester looking for? He must pay for this sacrilege. Where can we find him?"

Dalamus, you found where Fario was being held and eliminated Jil, but apparently they must have some other hidey holes
"He wanted the Star of Justice, this relic," she indicates the sceptre like thing she's holding, "that I use to commune with Iomedae."
She stands and progresses out to the chapel with you all, "If everyone is out safe, then let us evacuate the city as ..."
The rest of her statement is drowned out by a thundering roar that transitions to a blistering heat radiating from the top of the church ... it catches on fire!
Outside you hear masses of people begin to scream and flee.

Dalamus races out through the front doors, smoke and ash clouding his vision. Heat radiates from everywhere as not only is the roof on fire, and searing embers in the air, but a crack has opened up while the party was in the church and lava is bubbling up out on the street, flowing away from the church and toward the center of the caldera.
He hears a roar of rushing air and feels it pulse and pound against him from above, as if being moved by massive fans ... or wings.

Epik follows behind Dalamus, drawing his great sword and looking up to determine what infernal abomination is above.

And what better way to end 2020 and start 2021 with a dragon fight!
Dalamus sees the underside of a massive red scaled lizard as it swoops down through the smoke and ash, flames shooting down the street and lighting things on fire. Over the roar of fire and the beat of its wings, the rogue hears it mutter something in a deep rumbling bass before it pivots directly up to disappear in the black clouds of burning ash and ember.
"MAGIC ... I SMELL IT DOWN THERE. TIME TO DIE, MORTALS. WORRY NOT, THOUGH, YOUR POSSESSIONS WILL LIVE ON IN INFAMY IN MY HOARD. YOUR LEGEND AS ANOTHER BURNING DEFEAT AT THE TEETH OF HOOKFACE WILL GO DOWN IN YOUR ANNALS FOREVER MORE"

A Legend of Fire and Flame Round 1

Ma'puande quickly heals Dalamus as the rest of the party tries to figure out what's going on.
Hookface doesn't become visible, but the beat of his wings shows roughly where he is above the smoke. He circles the block and begins a path coming back toward the party. You hear a tremendous rush of air away from you and you see the smoke that recoils from the buffeting wings, suck upward rapidly in conjunction with that sound.
Party actions? I'm working on the map now, hopefully I'll have it fixed before you all read this
